Best iced coffee I’ve had in Idaho, hands down. Chocolaty and smooth.I was planning on buying their beans and a latte but they unexpectedly were only taking cash that day. Not the staff’s fault, but I almost never have cash on hand. Weird experience but that was probably just a fluke. 🤷‍♀️

A place where you can feel welcome? a place where you can feel like you belong? Yep you guessed it i’m talking about moxie Java. Possibly the best coffee shop experience that i’ve ever had happened here. Back in late august, a friend and I were out days on the road, thirsty and lonely, when we came across this gem. We got out we’re welcomed handsomely and served some of the best coffee i’ve ever had in my life. Goodness Gracious Lord Almighty i’ve never tasted hot bean juice like that in all of my days on earth, nearly heavenly. Anyway you should check out moxie if your looking for not only amazing coffee, but an experience that will last you a life time

Moxie Java is a great local coffee shop. They have been in Boise for years and we love supporting local business. Great place to work, meet or hang by the fire on a chilly day. Fantastic service and Their coffee is incredible too. Highly recommend this location.

Dont really like the fact that during a pandemic they just put straw in my drink. Id prefer a straw I can unwrap and put in my drink myself

We basically go here every morning for convenience purposes. Im a coffee fanatic and prefer local coffee places. I absolutely refuse to go to Dutch or Starbucks but this franchise is actually good and their staff is also amazing. Service is quick and they have our order memorized. If one of the new staff members puts in a different order the other workers are sure to double check and make sure we meant to do that. They have NEVER messed up our order no matter how busy they were.

Always enjoy Moxie Java. Surprised to see much less traffic. Scones always super but didnt have our favorite choice, but getting used to shortages. Like atmosphere & patio always nice. Good service.

I dont like they verbally ask for a tip. I dont think I should have to tip for $2.00 coffee and its before you are serviced.

Drinks are good, food is okay. I wish they were open a little later in the day, I like a hot coffee or tea on my way home from work in the fall and winter.

Disappointed. Came here twice in one week and BOTH times for the orders wrong. This time today we got something blended and they gave it to us over ice. Told them should’ve been blended and the girl gave major rude attitude saying the order didn’t say that. Won’t be coming here anymore.

The staff here is awesome I am a big fan of buying locally. They are locally owned and their coffee is roasted locally. So not only are you getting a great product but you are also supporting the local economy. I do like to be able to order and sit down and enjoy my purchase without feeling like I am in a convenienc store.

Moxie Java on Chinden is pretty great. The hard working folks there always do a fantastic job whenever I stop by. There is always about 8 varieties of coffee waiting for you so your choices are great. Best coffee shop to stop in for a while and get a little work done. Except for the occasional hippie sighting it is pretty awesome...wait, I was looking in the mirror. I am the hippie.

Excellent lunch and friendly staff. We had the soup and croissant sandwiches which were surprisingly delicious. Free WiFi. Prices were reasonable with a relaxing environment by a fireplace.

I come here often. Staff always friendly and they give Great service- lots of room, fireplace for cold days. One of the servers Britney, especially helpful. Usually I have coffee or tea but the breakfast wraps are delicious and reasonably $$. Deserts are also good.

Seriously the best coffee my husband and I have found in Boise! Once we started coming here, everything else is just not the same. Malik and Cameron are fantastic and so much fun to talk with first thing in the morning (even before Ive had my coffee)! Consistently great coffee, excellent service, locally owned and we are happy to support them.

UPDATE MAY 2020Wow thank you for getting getting rid of the old wooden writing pad and using a plastic one easier to clean. I dont mean to be mean. I love your coffee and come here alot. I dont understand your logic 🤷This is my favorite coffee shop the only thing Im disappointed with every time I order a blended milky way its always made different. I really like caramel in the cup with whipped cream chocolate and caramel on top. Ive had it without any syrups or whipped cream or just caramel or just chocolate. Please inform all the employees the right way to make it. This is my favorite drink and favorite coffee shop.

The Croissant Breakfast Sandwich with Bacon is DELICIOUS! The new Chocolate Cherry Mocha is very good too! I always have a wonderful experience. The Baristas are amazing, friendly, and professional. Others try to imitate, but no-one holds a candle to Idahos Moxie Java!

Wrote a review 2 months ago and STILL NO RESPONSE FROM OWNER! you’re worse than the subpar employees you have working for you. Always getting orders wrong and just this morning my wife ordered coffee at the first window, then sat for TEN MINUTES. finally at the 2nd window an employee apologized and retook her order, they FORGOT ABOUT HER IN THE DRIVE THRU! Absolutely unacceptable.

Great little bistro

First time here at this Moxie Java, and I forgot how good the Moxie Milky Way is. The girls here are super friendly and very professional. My half club sandwich and side of potato salad was extremely good, and the price was reasonable. I will be sure to come here if Im on this side of town.

Staff is not very friendly. Their chai tastes like mouthwash. Or eggnog. Depending on how much creme is added. Very odd. I wish they still used Oregon Chai like they used to. The coffee is ok. The cookies are stale and dry. The danishes have no flavor. Perhaps it would be better on a different day.🤷

If you have time to stop inside, I recommend it. There is a gas fireplace, a newspaper, and free refills on several blends.

Moxie is a hit or miss unfortunately. I used to love going with my boyfriend but not anymore. Whether its between not knowing how to make menu items or taking twice as long to make the coffee as competitors, the coffee isnt worth it. Its also very inconsistent. One week we have a blended drink that tastes great, then the next week when ordering the same item, it doesnt taste the same or as good. They need to hire people that actually care about their job and know how to make the coffee good and consistent everytime.

Its not the Flying M - but, it is just across the street from her friends at WestVet. And, the 16 oz quad, iced mocha was exceptional - even w/o the whip!

That Malik guy is pretty cool. Great Smile. Hes a great people person and genuinely cares about your day.

Every time I go there the coffee taste different the last time I went it didnt even taste like coffee. But when they get it right it is delicious you just have to hope that I get it right that day

I really like this spot. Has good coffee and nice places to sit. It can get loud when it’s full. But the smell of fresh roasted coffee makes up for it.

The Cinnamon Maple Latte is very good. This Moxie Java has a great atmosphere, is clean and has a friendly staff who knows the importance of visual presentation - you walk in and immediately you think, this is a good place to be and you look forward to having a drink with a bite to eat.

I went through the drive through and ordered a decaf chai tea. When I got to the window, after I paid the man working behind the counter told me they did not have decaf only caffeinated. I would have preferred the man know this and tell me this prior to taking my money. I said ok and went to the next window to get my chai tea. After the man handed it to me we drove off and I discovered that in the 20 oz cup I paid almost $5.00 for and wanted a decaf, I was given about 8 ounces of caffeinated chai tea and 12 ounces of foam. I could put my entire index finger into the cup up to the knuckle on my hand and still barely reach any liquid. Who on earth serves 12 ounces of foam for $5.00?

Ordered soup potatoes where hard rubbery. When i told the staff he said ok sorry you dont like it. Walked away then yelled across ill let them know you dont like it.

I just ordered a pumpkin spice moxacuppino and its not too bad. The pumpkin spice is a little strong for my taste and I LOVE pumpkin spice drinks, next time I will tell them to go a little easy on it but I can still drink it and it tastes good! Their prices arent too bad either. They also have a drive thru.

Good range of deli food & kitchen. Many groups meet here. Plenty of room without losing its cozy feel.

Prices are fair. I wasnt too impressed with the coffee taste. But will come back because theyre awesome in customer service.

I really like Moxie Java and its too bad that theyve closed many of their locations. I dont get to this particular one very often I just happened to be in that part of town today.

This place has the worst hours ever!! People want to drink coffee early in the morning or late at night this place is open neither of those times. when they are open the coffee you receive is poorly made, the staff is very rude, and if you have questions about anything good luckI love Moxie Java but this location is the worst. Unfortunately it is the closest one to my house therefore I will be sticking with Dutch brothers from now on.

When we went to Kuwait for the build-up to go into Iraq, we ran out of coffee. We went from 1200 personel to over 8000 in just a few weeks. We reached out to Moxie Java and Starbucks to see if we could purchase some coffee at a discount. Moxie said how much do you need and promptly took boxes of 10 lb bags to Gowen field Idaho no charge to ship to us in Kuwait. Starbucks said, coffee is not a necessity, and left it at that.
