I am physically disabled and find the Garden City K-mart very helpful. I once called ahead to check for the availability of a scooter and one was reserved for me! I spent over $200 that day and had a ball. I would have bought more but the basket was full. Staff were very helpful and I enjoyed the experience. FB

Return policy is flat out pointless. They hardly get any service and for them to not let me exchange a box of diapers that was bought there a few hours earlier was ignorant. I wasnt asking for any money back just to get a bigger size. The box was bought as a gift from the same store. Corporate was definitely called.

For an older building, thats outdated, they have a decent selection. The parking lot is atrocious though.

No customer service at all !!! If you manage to find someone that works there they might be able to answer a question, Store is trashy ! Reminds me of a cheap no brand dollar store. The 3 times I shopped there had to wait in line for 25 minutes and the cashier did not even apologize for the wait. Also I cant believe they serve food there CLEAN THE STORE. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THAT STORE.Now the Super K in Taylor is closed I wont be shopping at kmart anymore they should have kept Taylor open and close down the rat nest in Garbage City.

Disgusted. Came in yesterday and was treated to a donut by the lovely staff. However, this donut had lemon filling. Decent? Nope. Had chocolate glaze on top. THIS IS WHY YOURE CLOSING.

Its like the employees are trying to compete in a lazy contest. I waited 20 minutes for a online order at the layaway counter behind one person while 3 employees sat there and didnt even say anything. I didnt pay online luckily so I left. Didnt go back for a while. Had to go there tonight and none of the 3 register lines even moved 1 person forward after 15 minutes. If you ask them where something is located good luck.

Bought a bike for my son about a month ago. Pedal sheered off. they wont replace the pedal. Say i have to go through the manufacturer. Starting to see why they are going out of business. all I wanted is the same bikes pedal and I would replace it. Way to stand behind your hoods

I went in there, got what i needed, and proceeded to check out. The register stopped working in the line i was in so i switched lanes. Im not sure what was going on in that lane but it wasnt moving. So i switched lanes again. (mind you theres only 3 lanes open) this lane was just as slow. Either the ignorant employees cant figure out how to use a cash register or they were purposely making people wait. I looked for my product for 5 minutes, and waited in line for 17. On top of that, 2 female employees were swearing right in front of everyone. Wont be back to deal with this place. Bad management, terrible employees, altogether bad service. I know its kmart and this should be expected but come on now.

This the only Kmart store its still open around Detroit area. So its look like is doing a good compared to other Kmart.

Its a very good Kmart, excellent customer service Its clean and generally has everything I want/need,except for groceries.

Sad this is going out of business soon according to kmarts January 2016 statement. This location was the very first ever Kmart location. Sad this chain is being crushed. I love all kmarts.

It is always hard to find a sales associate for the layaway department which isnt a big deal, however; today was the worst experience I ever had with this kmart. I went in took about 20 minutes to find someone. Paid off my layaway. Sales Representative went to get my layaway took about 20 min before she shows up ask want I got I told her than took another hour to just find one of the items. She said shes still looking for the other one. Another 30 minutes came by before someone else ask me if Ive been helped and I said ya shes still looking for my layaway he asked what Im waiting for I told him and he says shes in that department looking for it. Another 30 min go, she comes tells me that she cant find the one I put in layaway and she can give me the display I told her ya that will work but I want a discount. She takes off than 30 min later a guy comes back and says he found the other merchandise which clearly it was the display one put back in the box and taped up. Like I didnt know that they where trying to hide the fact that the box was open. This isnt even worth a one star because of waiting for 2 hours getten a10$ card for losing my they merchandise than lieing and trying to cover up the fact that it is the display and trying to put it in a box and trying to make it look like the box never been open. If I didnt have to get home so my husband could go to work, I would have complain about it.

Store closing. Prices hacked up so a 75% off price it still same as miejers etc. No sale. And sales workers not friendly. Cashier couldnt give me my online discount and said oh well and ddnt even offer to get a manager to fix so I just walked away

It is closed now, but, I loved shopping there.

The atmosphere is not some place I like to take my children due to the poor choice of words & behaviors of the customers to the cashiers. Last week I was there with my young children and one guy was screaming at this associate cursing at them at the front desk over a return they couldnt do. Then I go to check out & this lady is dropping f bombs at the cashier bc she couldnt use her credit card there due to the system being down. Hello thats not there fault! But I am sorry thats not some where I would like to take my children bc this happens everytime Im there. People really need to watch how they behave in public places!

Customer service sucks. They dont attempt to help you when your looking around and when you ask for help they still take their time getting someone to help you. I dont understand why people choose jobs they dont like.

The only way to hate the store and write a review is to give it a star (that it doesnt deserve). I waited for two hours for assistance with layaway only to have to leave the basket that I spebt an hour filling. I later called to advise management of the horrible customer service, I spoke with Vonda, of which was not at all surprised at the terrible service. Kmart and Sears will continue to lose money as a company as long as they continue to make shoppers go down the road to Target fir customer service.

Came here after I heard the news of shut-down-by-March. Especially I felt sad for this store, the first one ever, and decided to visit to say bye.I walked in with a camera and a RUDE lady with no uniform no plate call me Hey hey you. She claimed to be the store manager and asked me to leave because I had a camera on my back, even though my hands are full of shampoo bottles & socks. She doesnt care about customers, at all.

I have been coming here since I was a young child. I grew up in GC, and its sad to see the place close down as the very first Kmart. It will be missed.

I have been shopping at Kmart for over 20 years. Their prices are lower to me than Walmart.
