Definitely worth the drive!!! The food is amazing and the owner is wonderful. We asked before we went in and all the other customers agreed that the food is delicious. Serves the perfect Coney dog and the best fries. Hours are open when everything else is closed. They have a takeout window you can drive right up and theyll hand it to you. Their takeout window is very busy.
The owners are what make this place great. They both know how to cook so good and they are super friendly with customers. I cant believe how hard these guys work for their customers its crazy. Highly recommend if you want amazing food, theyre open all the time so this is my new stop (Goodbye fast food!)
Great portion sizes. A single fry order can feed 3 people. The owner works there in the kitchen. Hes very friendly and a great cook. Stop in and grab some good food!
The food was great and theres plenty of it! The people were amazing, since it was my wifes first time eating there the owner made us an order of chili cheese fries on the house, all at 3:00am! OUTSTANDING

First time here and the food was AMAZING! We just moved here and we cant wait to bring our family and friends here when they visit. It was hoppin at midnight on a Saturday which is a clear indication of just how many people love the food. There was one person cooking and one person handling taking orders and carry outs. Impressed with the quality of service despite them being so busy. Cant wait to come back!
All though the owner & staff are great, I have seen things that DEFINITELY would NOT pass the health inspector (customers helping themselves to items behind the counter & outside of the dinning area - ice from ice machine & silverware) as well as complete disrespect shown towards unhappy complaining patrons, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT, REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU MAY FEEL Eddie!! GRIN & BEAR IT BROTHER. In this day and age of strict health standards, this should be unacceptable to you, it is to me. You can not be everyones Pal, I understand you being a small business owner trying to make it, but if some of these things were exposed, you would be in s HEAP OF CHIT, possibly destroying your business. Makes we think twice before returning in the future. I am an old guy too, old & wise. God Bless Brother.
10/10 would recommend I LOVE THIS PLACE! Staff is super nice and chill very home vibe and open until 4 am a great mid night chill spot, food 9/10 egg was a little raw no biggie still super good food and big food portions and cheap very convenient for me and I would DEFINITELY be back soon!!
Eddie is the absolute best! The food is superbly delicious, always fresh and tasty. The portions are always large, you will probably have to get a container and take some home. The waitstaff is always helpful and diligent, they are there to serve and make sure you are satisfied. I try to dine there 2 - 3 times a week. Id probably go there more often, but I live about 10 miles away.
Came here for some late night food... and I loved it. The owners were very welcoming, and provided very good service even though they are understaffed.The food was very good too, will definitely come back again!
Came in for some late night food after having a bad experience at the first place we tried to eat. there was only 1 other table and they had boxes for their food already so didn’t need much. Sat and drink order was taken immediately which was nice, but then waited 15 minutes and the server never came back to our table. just like the first place we went. It wasn’t until my friends and i decided to get up and leave that a gentleman tried to ask what we wanted to order from across the restaurant. Nothing, now, thanks anyways….

Listen the food was great but the service was even better. Theres my first time here after a really long freaking day of work at 1 am. Eddie chatted with me for a while gave me some extra pie and a extra sprite for the road. Definitely will be back here more! What an awesome place! Glad I skipped the Del Taco line!

It took over an hour to get a club sandwich and a frozen burger. Overall the food quality, the service, the condition of the restaurants ks deplorable and I have no idea what crack head standards the people of westland have to give this place 4.5 stars. If its late find a drive threw or starve. Its the better option

Cute local diner with friendly staff and great prices! I stopped in for breakfast on Sunday and it was pretty busy. The cheese omelette I ordered was huge and delicious! The waitresses made sure my coffee cup was never empty lol. I highly recommend giving this place a try! The staff was attentive, even though it was busy, and the prices are perfect!

Absolutely some of the best food Ive had in a long time followed by a great experience talking with the owner. I will definitely come back here for great food and a great time. If you havent been here you definitely need to come. The coney sauce is on point.

Amazing food, 5 stars doesnt do the Merri-Men justice, I would rate them at 5,555 stars, if I could, better than two thumbs up, great customer service, the kind of customer service that is hard to find now a days, the owner is a very nice man, who is very generous and gives you large portions, he said, and I quote, I am not a hungry man, I could have retired 20 years ago, but I am here everyday, not for the money, but for the people, I love people. Safe area, and the owner is very welcoming and hospitable, the burger was so great, that I drove 40 miles out of my way to return the next day, with my Dad, and it was a cold day, and the owner gave us each a free bowl of chili, (which was also some top notch chili,) to stay warm, while we waited. He gave us our pops for free and when I asked for some ketchup, mustard, salt and napkins, he gave me a couple handfuls of each. Hand decorated with his own homemade spin board art, I hope this place stays open forever, I would like to see the parking lot packed, spend your money there, you wont regret it, support this small business, keep this time establishment up and running, spend your money here, before you go to McDonalds, save money, keep money in non corporate pockets, and get way better food, and much larger portions, for half the price. Beyond reasonably priced, this is the best restaurant in Garden City, no contest, hats off to the owner, a true old school gentile men. I love the Merri-Men, absolutely love this place, will gladly drive 40 miles out of my way, again, to return, and enjoy their phenomenal fresh, fast, delicious, more than worthwhile food, just because the owner is so nice, and people like that are a rarity now a days. Highly recommended to all.

Tried the big breakfast take out. Sausage and pancakes were great, eggs and hashbrowns were good. Rye toast was ok. Price was fair. They have a take out window set up for social distancing which is nice to see.

I ordered a double decker BLT and fries. When I arrived to pick it up the waitress opened the containers to show me the food and I could see turkey on the sandwich and said to her I think this is a club. She says hang on and goes in the back office, I think. When she comes out she says no this is all the BLT. I grabbed a piece if turkey and said no this is turkey and thats not a BLT. Of course maybe this is my fault, all my life and I am approaching 60 I thought the T stood for tomato, guess I was wrong.

This man has the very best chili in town. When you ask for ground beef in your chili you get ground beef with chili. Hamburgers are thick and juicy and delicious. You gotta try this place

Wonderful surprise, clean and cozy and I could smell the fresh onions they were gonna put on my Coneys when I walked through the door. Hot dogs were great, staff is friendly and the regular patrons are great. I hope to become a bit more regular even though they are about a half hour from my shop.What a great find, thanks for lunch

I go to this place all the time. Owner treats everyone like family and just wants you to eat. Its awesome! Because the place is so small you find yourself socializing with other guest who are always very friendly. Its like going to cheers but unfortunately with no alcohol. The food is good quality and the quantity is always more than I can eat! Great prices and theyre open 24 hours. I honestly cant say enough good things about this place! Do I recommend this place to others? Yes, all the time!
Very good food and wonderful portion sizes. Prices are absolutely amazing for the amount of food you get. Everything is made fresh to order as well. I also really appreciate the 24 hours a day 7 days a week hours meaning my husband and I can eat together and not need to make homemade food all the time. The wait staff is also on top of it! Will come back and definitely recommend to everyone.

Extra Crispy bacon is a foreign term to the cook on duty today(1/10/2020).Eggs were greasy. Good Rye bread for toast, but order it dry because the kitchen uses cheap margarine with a bad aftertaste. Wait staff is very polite and friendly, but low marks for tabletop cleanliness. Mine had dried food stuck to table top.Very likely this customer is a non-return, former patron.

Great restaurant. My second time here . Great staff and a friendly place. The food was excellent! The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special Greek Omelette, the Polish Sausage was great (even took photos so we could try to replicate at home).

Used to go to this diner when i was a kid. The new owners are doing a great job so far. The food quality is excellent, and the portion sizes are huge for what you pay. Best part is it being 24 hrs I can stop in after work and get a warm plate of food. Its quiet, clean, and well run. Cant ask for much more. I am a weekly customer at this point.
