Me and my family are regular customers here. For all of the years we’ve been coming here we’ve enjoyed it and the employees at the self checkout are nice and friendly. The last couple of times we’ve been there it has not been so great. On both occasions we were needing assistance from the employee at self checkout for approval and they were both talking on the phone as they were trying to solve our problem. This is two different women on two different occasions. They would be talking and we wouldn’t know if they are talking to us or to the person on the phone. Very unprofessional! Back when I worked in a grocery store, we were not supposed to have our phones out and we were supposed to be focused on the customer. The last time we were there the lady was trying to send us to customer service over getting two gift cards when she could have figured it out herself if she would just get off the phone. We didn’t leave to customer service until she did figure it out. All she had to do was stop talking to the person on the phone and then she could think clearly and get the job done. I will still continue to come here but I just think there needs to be a phone policy here because it’s unprofessional for them to be on the phone when the customers need help from them. The priority needs to be on the customer.

Everyone I have encountered the past month have been very friendly, helpful and efficient. A much needed improvement in customer care. It is more like the original Walmart. Mr. Walton would be proud! Keep up the good work!Still have lots of empty shelves and not restocking popular items in a reasonable amount of time. I hope this cam be remedied soon.

Gardendale AL location. I frequently visit this location during my entire visit to the city. I love their online return policy, huge selection of food items, and clothing sections. I also participate in the online pick up service (did this several times during my visit) it needs much improvement. The first fourth time I tried online pick up procedure, the employee also gave my order to the wrong customer. I had to shout to him to get his attention because taking my order back into the pick up location inside the building. He eventually saw me at brought it to the car. If you are picking up smaller in store items it is best to go to the pick up tower and follow the instructions it is a lot faster and efficient. Whenever you are in the Birmingham area this Walmart is great to visit!

They open at 6 but don’t open the customer service desk till 7 I guess they don’t care about the customer till 7 and the attitude from the employ literally standing behind the desk is ridiculous. I just worked 12 hours I just want to cash my check and go home

I shop here a lot because it is close by, they have what I need, and the prices are good. It is consistent with all Walmart stores. Its clean, stocked and the self checkout registers are working. There are always lines at the checkout. The pharmacy is slow, because theyre always busy.

Well its walmart... never any registers open, EVERYONE is a CSM, you must check your own items up like most all the stores. I think we should strike the store and ask for a W2 since we must do all the work. And typically there is freight all over every isle.

Store organization didnt make much sense as what items were grouped on what aisle and prices on some items were unclear as multiple different sizes of boxed goods were under the same tag. No employee offered to move the carts blocking paths so ended up moving carts myself and getting dirty looks. I know it is beyond employees control but having several items on my list always out of stock is frustrating. No employee offered assistance in any way at any time and not even the cashier was friendly. Do better. Were all having a hard time and thats why I do not act rudely, say anything in store, and try my best to be friendly because I understand it must be difficult to be a retail employee right now, but a smile goes a long way for people shopping who have social anxiety.

Had to wait a bit for curbside but otherwise it was Awesome!!!

Only have certain things in stock and when the shelves are empty it takes a week to restock definitely finding another place to shop

This Walmart is always so much cleaner and so much more organized than the one next to my house. The associates are always nice.

Walmart no longer cares about the people who actually come into their stores to shop...they cater to online shoppers...thats their priority. Otherwise, there wouldnt be so many empty shelves. The largest retailer in the world doesnt even know how to manage inventory. PITIFUL display of management. Absolutely pitiful.

I cannot ever rate WM highly because ever since Sam passed, the customer service has declined. I really hate the self-checkout experience. And getting associate assistance to any specialized area is nearly impossible.I would love it if another chain would come into play so that we would never have to step foot into another WM again.They drive inflation up as a result of their greed and send many jobs overseas.What ever happened to Sams dream of Made in the USA?The kids crushed it!

I have been to a lot of Walmart stores and by far this one is the nicest. It was well stocked and the associates were all so helpful and friendly. I will be going again.

It took pickup over 20 mins to come out after my pick up time was delayed already by 1hr by them 😒. The lady was very polite and respectful but very slow and stopped putting my groceries in to answer others questions. I feel like that person should be able to multi task.

Walmart is a good place to shop but if you need to call the store you might as well pack a lunch. Once you are put on hold there is no follow up. If being transferred over to another department you have to pray that someone answers the phone because there is no warm transfer. You are basically on hold until you choose to hang up or call back. Tried to get a status of my grocery delivery and was on hold for over an hour. I will give the store clerk credit as she did pick up one time about half way through to tell me she paged overhead and called the manager and the department and nobody is picking up. My question is if that is the issue why not walk over there and see what the issue is? I am not sure they are trained on customer services or in how to appropriately handle a delay issue? Did not get an email or text or anything. Why is it we need to choose between price and customer service? Sad....

Standard super Walmart. Was well stocked and clean. The handicapped carts are in need of attention or repair. Staff friendly and helpful.

What can I say? Its a Walmart. They have what you need at places you can afford, but never anyone around when you need help. Why do they have 24 checkout lanes, but only two or three cashiers? Walmart needs to hire more cashiers.

I love finding these great deals at Wal-Mart. It has helped me stay on budget while still being able to buy some great gifts for Christmas.

Managers Calli and Austin, thank you. They really helped me out in the store when another associate was being inconsiderably rude. Ive never been treated like an actual walmart customer until being helped by these 2. Its a good walmart if they hire people like them.

This store does not keep things in stock food or clothes are never plentiful. But its the only store around that I can afford to shop at. And their online shopping experience I would not recommend!

I have never been treated with as much disrespect as the tire center workers treated my wife and I at this Walmart. I ordered her new tires online, and after putting them on my wife immediately noticed that one was losing air pressure. She returned to the tire center and was told she probably ran over a nail and it happens “all the time” to new tires. There was no nail and they inspected the tire and filled it with air and sent her on her way. She immediately noticed it was still losing air pressure and returned a third time with me. They took the tire off and returned and told her they could not repair it, there was a small cut in the side wall of the tire… and it was not their problem. After several heated discussions they told us we would have to order a new tire and there was nothing they could do. Never have I seen a lack of care for customers like this. We will never use this store again!

Im not totally sure, but I think this Walmart tends to have a wider variety of vegetarian choices. It could be that they place their plant based items in a more open view or something, but I love this Walmart for the simple reason of not having to look high and low for vegetarian items.Other than that, its a typical Walmart. No personalized service, difficult to find someone to help you, only two lanes open with humans at the register etc.I will give this Walmart four stars though. Thanks for not hiding the plant based options in the books and crannies of the shelves. Much appreciated!

Gardendales Walmart Grocery pickup is abysmal. I had to cancel my pickup order twice due to it being delayed outside of their pickup window of 8PM. Last time, I was informed that my order was ready at 7:56 PM. Drove down there for an employee to tell me that they are closed. It was 8:06 PM. He proceeded to tell me that their team worked over three minutes to show good customer service for their last customer, of whom I assumed arrived mere minutes before 8PM. The pickup team must have really been stretching it for those extra 3 minutes.No one answers the phone after a certain point either. I nor the customer service representative could get Gardendale on the phone. I am bringing this to the immediate attention of corporate.

Long lines and.limited brand availability has become the norm at all locations. Does anyone remember there introductory No line no waiting guarantee?

The shelves are usually empty here. No other walmart is like this. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe its this pandemic, but just got everything I needed from a Walmart in Cullman.

Always love my local Walmart! Found some shoe racks in the wrong place & they honored the price at $3.97! Originally $14!! I just wish hours would go back to some what normal!

Meh, way too many self checkouts putting cashiers out of work. We dont work for Walmart nor do we get a discount for doing self check out. Their produce does last longer than most other places.

As a Walmart shopper I dread going in every time. Its strange how as a kid I was like oh boy walmart!!! 🥳😄😄 And now Im like oh boy walmart. 😔😫😭 but it has to be done. My experience is usually ok I hate the fact that they dont pay me to check myself out, cause Im pretty much an employee at that point lol. Over all, good experience, the usual Walmart experience. They do have a pickup on the side where you can buy groceries online then go and pick them up. They load it up for you. Super nice. Its a good Walmart.

Store clean but stock very low. I like the customer service at Target better, they clean each self checkout register after every use. When you ask the attendees at Walmart to clean they get an attitude or say they dont have the proper cleaning supplies. This is sad during the time of COVID, but they stand aroundand have personal conversations amongst themselves . I even brought this to the attention of management, and yet and still nothing has changed.

So keep it quaint not coworker. Dont do that either it might not recognized to post or deleted or disappear. Dogs dont have normal visits or relationship. They ask like two headed baby cadavers when you get to college already preplanning Italian. Yeah not doing anything at all. Not perfect for you enough.

One of the better Walmarts. Good parking for the horse. Dennis...formally in hardware but now in the garden center is a huge asset to Walmart. Hes always helpful and friendly. Dennis you get 5 stars. Thanks for sharing the info on the mining museum and the fact your grandfathers work is included there.. me and the horse are definitely going to visit.

I love walmart. They just need the money center open on the 1st and 3rd month so people can get there money orders for their bills.

I visited the optical department to view childrens selections, which is actually impressive. Kids Eyewear has always been subpar but its looking better. Deborah was very friendly and helpful.

Found what I needed and left...bought groceries and got out without issues.Even bought my oil and oil filter for my truck.Update...Had to purchase a battery for my Dodge Ram 1500.After doing some research bought a Ever Start 65N 850 cold cranking amps from Walmart.Was treated very nice the employee carried the new battery to my truck and picked up my old Napa battery that was bad.Did not get the employees name in the auto center but very glad I came across him...3/20/21Bought oil for my truck and the oil filter plus oil for my lawnmowers...5/14/21

I have used this Walmart multiple times throughout the pandemic and before it really hit last March. I buy groceries for my parents, our own home, and for my mother in law. I purchase their deli meat for my parents and our household and have run into problems entering the store near 8p and the workers would claim they were closed as they were standing around talking amongst themselves. I have come in as early as 7:30p to make sure I got there before 8p as that is what time I was told they close and still no service. Yesterday afternoon at 6:15p I came into the store after calling and speaking with customer service who reminded that the Deli closes at 8p. I reminded that there have been numerous times that I have shown up near that and they were closed so I just wanted to make certain. I was assured that they would be opened til 8p. As I said.... I arrived at 6:15p to be ignored by the two people that were standing behind the counter talking amongst themselves (imagine that). Finally the young black male came and told me they were closed and would not be able to serve me. I explained that I had just called and was told that the Deli was open until 8p. The rather large white girl tells the young male that they have never closed at 8p and that they were not serving anyone else. She then proceeded to ask if I had spoken with someone in the Deli to which I replied that the store should know what time the departments close and that it was hard enough getting them on the telephone so why would I ask for the Deli to potentially wait for someone to not answer the call. The girl said that I should have spoken with the Deli and that the Deli has always closed at 6p since she has worked there. I told her I would just speak with the manager. I went to manager (I think his name was James) and told him what had transpired. He asked why they were closing so early to which I clearly could not answer. He walked to the Deli with me and asked the girl who proceeded to tell him that they are entitled to breaks during their shifts and that it takes them two hours to clean everything so they have always closed at 6p. Then she proceeded to blame COVID19 for the reason for early closing as her mask was just above her upper lip. I told her she was a liar and that this store needs a lesson in Dale Carnegie as her attitude and treatment of customers is appalling (and yes I worked retail for years in my younger years). The manager did tell her to slice the meat to which she continued to refuse (her and the one she had been yacking with upon my arrival). She delegated the job to another black male that did as told with as good of a personality as possible considering the situation. It was not his job to have to do it as he was not even standing there when I arrived. It should have been the lazy girl working harder to not work than doing her job. She and the thin young guy went to the back and never came back out to the front. Poor management (yes I got what I came for but that employee should have been reprimanded for how she is treating customers). This is why Walmart is such a joke. People continue to use them because its cheaper than other grocery businesses but if the public would pull together and make a stand maybe the corporate side would make more of an effort to straighten this kind of stuff out and customers will be treated as they should be treated. Take a lesson from Publix for Gods sake!!! By the way... check out Gardendale Walmart store hours... and look at the Deli... Clearly it says they close at 9:00PM!!!!!!

I found just what I needed and had a pleasant experience all around.

I had a dash at this walmart and I had to go to the Express online orders line (big orange tower near entrance) and it was very quick and convenient. I refer making online orders and using the quick pick up method. Saves a lot of time and helps being in contact with other civilians.

I use the online app for grocery pick up. Best thing Ive ever done!!!

This Walmart is in need of a make over. It is so ran down. It need so much work done. Bathrooms alone are in Terrible condition. I do want to say the staff is great. It’s just a dirty store.

My only complaint is they NEVER answer the phone therefore you HAVE to drive over there to see if they may or may not have what you need

To many lingering groups of people just socializing in isles. Seems a walmart associate with bust that up pandemic and all. Considering I over heard young Walmart associates cussing about what the previous shifts had not done in a group of 5, not surprised at the chaos in store. Set it up Wal-mart or lover your prices since I now have to check myself out too.

I have only been to the Walmart Supercenter once since the pandemic started over a year ago. I order groceries online and have them delivered or picked up. Walmart is Walmart. It is actually (or was before Covid-19) the place you could purchase almost anything you were looking for---within reason. When I visited the store several weeks ago, they were low on stock in some areas and ok in others.

Sent me the wong stuff and still didnt send me the refund for the things I did order

Since pandemic is behind us store has returned to fully stocked. Cashiers friendly. Only issue most self checkouts.

I love Walmart. I go there several times a week, as I live less than a mile away. I have been as many as 4 times in one day.

Store opens at 6am but the customer service desk doesn’t open till 7 so after working all night I get to sit in the parking lot and wait to cash my check while the employee just stands behind the desk and waits till 7 I hate the attitude I get every morning when I have to go here soon to never come back I guess they just don’t care about the customers till 7 so why even open at 6

It is usually not well stocked. It is messy and disorganized. Also, Ive tried dealing with their customer service and they were rude and unhelpful.

Grocery shelves always empty, went to buy a sponge mop, didnt have one, needed Crystal Light Peach Tea, didnt have any ???

I found what I was looking. Store was very clean and they were stocking up the shelves could do that later on at night .
