It’s not a bad range, the employees are really friendly and the price is right. $18 for all day and you can switch between rifle and pistol range which is a great deal. The store is clean and well stocked and you can pet “Camo” the store dog if he is roaming around. The drawbacks to this range is the range itself is old and outdated. The sound buffering is poor and the target tracks are old and twice did not return my targets and the guy had to come and fix it. Also, ventilation is poor, it’s basically a table fan at each bay which doesn’t work that well. Overall, I’ll still say 4 stars due to the pricing and overall friendliness of the staff. Also just be aware that they don’t allow you to shoot steel casings and will ask to check your ammo.

Visited last week and the lady treated us like we didn’t know anything about guns. This place was not friendly nor welcoming. No thanks, I will take my business and money elsewhere.

Started really good the gentlemen that checked my ammunition was very polite and nice to my wife and daughter but once I got to the range I had to set up my guns and I had no room so I had my things on the floor once I got my pistol out brought to the booth and fired 6 shots rude lady came and immediately said that I violated the rules and I was thrown out fortheday and the other people who were next to me didthesame due to no room

I went in for a private lesson with Linda and she was fantastic! I had not shot in a while and wanted some proper preparation and someone to officially teach me A to Z. She not only did that but gave me full confidence in myself. And I went on to pass my LTC with flying colors. I will appreciate her forever! Every one there was very inviting and friendly. Very nice lanes and was appreciative that it was inside!

Pretty nice range. the best one in garland for sure. only gripe is range is kinda old and a bit expensive. they do have a nice doggie in the store whos very friendly. the employees are also very friendly. another gripe I have is they dont let you shoot slugs or birdshot but buckshot is cool

Definitely need to get back to the range. Went on a date for a handgun safety course. The staff was very friendly and informative. I really enjoyed the date night we had here. I found my new favorite gun. If you read the other reviews about the very unhelpful, cantankerous lady up front, its totally true, but get past her and its all good from there. At least they let you shoot in peace.

Excellent place for novices, but even better for experienced shooters. Rifle range indoors with few caliber restrictions. Pistol range is separate, so no problems there. One charge and you can shoot either range the whole day if you like. Staff up front is knowledgeable, courteous and fast. Had a small issue at register during checkout, but they fixed it quick. If you shoot regularly, their membership is pretty cheap and makes it easy to send more down range. Good selection of guns, ammo and accessories if youre looking. Great place.

Found the employees friendly and professional. Getting into pistol range was quick and easy. Found the air quality very poor on the day I went. Shot one mag and left range. Told John I was concerned with air quality and could not remain. He apologized and charged me only for targets I got. That was fair of him. I will not return to this place again. I shoot at least once a week at the same place mostly. Try a new place at least once a month. Many far better places to shoot in the Dallas area. So many too choose from go find them.

Its an old range but it gets the job done, plus its always quiet during the football games!

Great customer service & wide variety

From the moment we entered this facility we felt so unwelcome. The staff is extremely rude! Especially the old lady with gray hair who checked us out. Very hostile when explaining themselves and honestly there was no need for all the attitude coming from her. They lost paying customers. Definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone. Paying customers shouldn’t be treated that way.

While the ranges are a little old and worn, they are functional and at a great price! The staff is friendly. I have had nothing but good experiences and great conversations with the staff (especially the younger gentleman whose name I think is John).They are willing to help and listen when you have issues with your firearms are are incredibly respectful.While they do have a good selection of new and used firearms, do not expect their retail firearm prices to be as low as a big store/online.Support your LGS with Targetmaster!

I have used this range for years. Started out as a newbie and now own multiple weapons that I shoot on a regular basis. This is a well run range. They answer all types of questions. I was able to get a good feel for different types of weapons because you can try multiple types of weapons when renting (no extra charge) and see what you like. They watch the lanes to make sure that it remains safe. (Big for me) I have been to other ranges where people do things that are not safe because they dont know proper weapon safety. I have watched Targetmaster employees enter the lanes to correct people and give mini lessons on site. It pays to be a member because of the discounts. Other than that prices are comparable to most places. Give them a try if you havent already.

Won’t ever go back. Tried to purchase a firearm there today and they wouldn’t sell it to me once they found out I was LE from my IDs. I’ve purchased several guns and suppressors with the same IDs (TXDL & TX LTC) over the last several years w/ no issues. Only reason I even attempted to go there was because GT Distributors (10 min away) had a long wait. Lesson learned. It’s worth the wait for good customer service. There are too many other great gun stores and gun ranges in the DFW area to tolerate poor customer service.

Linda was extremely helpful! I stopped in after work to try out a few handguns in 9mm. The ability to swap guns for one flat fee is awesome and I shot 100 rounds through about 4 different handguns. Great experience, nice range, will definitely be going back in the future!

Always helpful and friendly. Ive been coming here for 25 years. Had a jammed shotgun shell in my 12 gauge....and I mean jammed good....and they disassembled the gun for me, removed the shell, and reassembled everything....at no charge! Theyre good people here!

Been there twice now with my husband. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I have enjoyed shooting guns with my husband. Bathroom is very clean and tidy. There is also a sitting place with a big television to watch when you need to take a break from shooting.

I had not been here for awhile. So it was nice to see it again. As you enter you are liable to be greeted by thier VERY LARGE BLACK German Shepherd. Friendly of course. Any one who is a repeat Visitor knows him by name. Targetmaster. Is a very nice place to visit. Plenty of parking. Once inside you dont feel crowded or cluttered. As there is ample space tons of firearms to look at and or purchase. Decent prices. The staff is polite and helpful. They also have a healthy selection of ammo for you to choose from. The range itself is well lit. My only issue with it. Was at the end of my Shoot today. The switch on the wall Failed to work. So I ended up having to leave my last target. I did inform the manager. And I assume they fixed the Problem. There are at least 10 booths for the pistol course. There is a 50 yards rifle range. So yes I recommended Targetmaster for a fun time.

Really great staff! I went for the first time today. The shop area is very pleasant and comfortable. It looks somewhat like a lodge. The range itself is functional and easy to use. Additionally I was pleased to rent a few guns that I have considered purchasing but would rather try first. You pay one rental fee and can try as many guns as you like. You only have to pay for their ammunition which is very reasonably priced for buying at a range. Cant wait to go back and take the family.

As old as this place is its still one of the best gun ranges in DFW not because they do anything special, but they have the little things down, like foams pad for the firearm so u have a rest sitting down, also chairs so you can sit. The lanes are deep so it’s longer than your average range, and the tables perfect to sit and shoot. Don’t get me wrong it’s old needs renovation but the people and amenities make up for it.

There’s one guy in here who is awesome! Hands down the friendliest person to talk to, other than that go elsewhere

Very run down range, and facility all together. The staff was not very nice to begin with not even greeting me as I came in. Then I was told I “was shooting to fast” and to rapid fire I would need to have groups. However before I “rapid fired” I was zeroing in my new sight. And their was some off shots. Anyways I don’t recommend this place unless you have no where else to go.

Great selection with a friendly, not pushy, helpful and knowledgeable staff. All with fair pricing too. Folks, it doesn’t get much better than this. What a great company to do business with. Plus they have an excellent range that is well ventilated, well lit, well supervised and has a feeling of being safe.

The staff were very nice and helpful; they had a nice selection of guns (rifles and pistols) to choose from; the price was very reasonable; the location is perfect. I could spend all day talking to the staff there about guns, but had to leave earlier than planned. We had a wonderful experience there, and will be return customers.

Just as many other people have commented, they are very rude. They act like youre coming into their home uninvited. I walked out smelling like the pla e and it wasnt a pleasant smell. They basically sell used guns for more than one is brand new. They had a stock Glock 43 for $750...Thats outrageous. Even a full size glock 17 isnt that much at other places. When i asked if rhats all the glocks they had (only had like 5) the guy was like yup....all we got. At no moment did anyone ask can we help you...how are u....nothing...I walked in there ready to spend $1200 on a noce pistol and decided not to waste my money. For the pri ces they sell these for im surprised theyre still in business.

Friendly, cool, and clean. Spacious store. Very comfortable lanes. Lanes feature a fan to keep you cool and blow the smoke forward. Best range I have ever been to. Will definitely be returning often. Could stay here all day comfortably.

This Gun range is not for new people wanting to learn how to shoot. IF you are experienced and just want to shoot your rifle or pistol without any hassle go here!!! its by no means a luxury gun range but the range fees are cheap and its a good place to work on your shooting. i thoroughly enjoyed my time here and will be returning.

Great staff. Not uppity or pretentious. Will answer questions for both the novice and expert about guns or ammo. For an indoor range, the rifle range is great. Pistol is ample big and can be crowded, but they will be honest on the phone if you call ahead about lanes. Pretty good pistol rental selection if you need to check one out before you make a purchase.

I brought my own weapon and ammo so I only dealt with 2 people that worked there. The first was somewhat short with me and I felt he was looking me up and down as if I didnt belong there. The second person I dealt with was very courteous and professional. I felt very comfortable dealing with him at the counter. Other than that the facility was decent and I really enjoyed shooting at the range. I would definitely go again.

Great customer service. Everytime I have any questions the staff goes above and beyond to share their knowledge and offer advice and recommendations. They are very friendly and maybe most importantly, dont treat their customers as a liability risk like some other ranges in the area. It doesnt have a fancy setup, but if youre looking for a range with reasonable prices and no hassle, this is the place to go.

Awesome place to shoot. The Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They are never pushy when selling firearms. I bought my Beretta M9 there, it was a very quick and pleasant process. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who wants a good cost friendly range.

Have been here a few times now, and have always had a relaxed experience. One of the few indoor ranges Ive seen with 50 yard rifle bays as well. They even allow some rapid fire so long as you are in control of the firearm.Only negative things I can think of are the lack of a range officer in the shooting bays if we needed assistance, and the target carriers move pretty slow. Neither of these have deterred me, though, and I will be back!

They will watch you and if youre acting like a fool they will come and tell you you must leave which is nice. I enjoy coming here and they used to have the zombie pictures you could shoot out and that was really fun. But Ive met a lot of really nice people as well. You can rent a gun as well if you dont have one

The prices are fairly good and the staff can generally be kind depending on who you speak to. The range is extremely run down and money needs to be invested in ventilation and making it a bit nicer. Its not my favorite place to shoot but it will do in a pinch.

Is what it is. A gun range. Target carriers could be better. Lighting could be better. But it is indoors. Price for all day is excellent. Never had anyone be rude. Its just business. My main complaint is they really need to make the rifle range yardage more distinguishable. But like I stated earlier it has good prices and it is what it is. A GUN RANGE.But fix those rifle range target carriers.

While the actual range could use a little sprucing up the lighting on the range is the most conducive to target shooting than any other range I have been to. You can black out your lane and light up 3 different distances one at a time. Adjustable sight lights and fan over your left shoulder. Chairs in the range area allow you to take a break if you need it. The guys that do the range check in are excellent examples of what customer service should be. There is a large screen TV and couches available if you have to wait or just want to sit down for a while. Nice snack area and plenty of firearms to peruse.I see a lot of repeat customers and all are pleasant.Now if they would just open at 9 am I would give them 5 1/2 stars....

I have read through some of these reviews, and thought I would make some comments.Racists? Not Hardly. A couple of the guys there were stand-offish and kind of rude. But if I had a dime for every time I walked into a Dallas TX (Metro) business and got treated like that, I would be rich. In fact, one of the fellas there managed to be very helpful giving me support and information about the rifle I was looking to buy. When I am ready to get it, I will definitely be buying my rifle from there.The shooting range. Sure, it is a little dated, but it is still functional. I have been to better ranges. But I have been to far worse. Also, they keep their rental arms in decent shape. The one I rented was clean, and in working order. They also supplied me with decent ammunition!Despite the personalities, I thought I got good service. That is all that matters to me.

Visited Targetmaster with a friend of mine during the summer. We are experienced shooters but first timers to Targetmaster. The staff was great to us and treated us professionally. Not the fanciest or most up-to-date range but for me, I dont care. As long as I can shoot, Im all in.

This is the best value and best staffed range in DFW. For example, Frisco Gun Club charges you $40 for one hour on the rifle range. They come and tell you your time is up and if you are not done you get back on the waiting list and pay another $40. At Target Masters it is $18 for use of both the rifle and pistol range with no time limit. You can even leave and come back later the same day and shoot again for the same $18. You can shoot all day for one fee of $18.The owners at Target Masters are friendly and leave you alone unless you are unsafe. They know who is unsafe as they constantly monitor each shooter via video camera. I have been shooting here for 20 plus years and have never been disappointed. I have taken classes here, had my gun sighted in and asked for special accommodations, etc. They always take care of me. I think they are all law enforcement officers so they really know there stuff.This is the place to go in DFW for pistol and rifle shooting. I would also avoid Bullet Trap in Plano as they are much higher as well with less free targets and they do not monitor the safety of the shooters as well as Target Masters. This is a safe well ran range at very reasonable prices!

Excellent range. People are friendly, helpful and they know what they are doing.As long as you know what you are doing, they will allow you to draw from holster, rapid fire and other competition drills like fast reload.Gun selection is okay and reasonably priced. If you are about to buy a new gun, I would really recommend that you try out one of their rentals first. They have a large selection. I have always rented first before buying.

They have a female employee with a hostile rude manner. I go to other ranges where I am recognized when I arrive. Worst atmosphere ever for a run down facility. Go anywhere else!

Range is decent, employees are rude and disrespectful. The lady working the register added more targets than I used on my receipt and when I tried correcting her on the error she said Im not gonna sit here and argue with you and still charged me for them. Will not be going back.

I have been a member at Target Master for 15 years I dont want to shoot anymore else. It is a fun family friendly atmosphere. The courteous staff, have a deep knowledge and understanding about all thing firearms related. It costs a little more then some other places but it is well worth it they do not put up with idiots doing unsafe thing. I won’t take my kids anyplace else to shoot.

This was my first indoor shooting range experience, I have visited. They treated me with kindness and took the time to go through detail with my handgun purchase. They made purchasing a handgun simple as it suppose to be. They even comp.. me on range and shooting ammo with purchase. Very nice and down to earth employees as well.

Folks at the counter were nice and helpful. Surprised that I got a lane so fast on a Saturday at noon. I will be going back. Its a little pricey with no membership but I will prob a my get one eventually.

Ive been a member for two years and havent had any problems. I love the yearly membership discounts. The abundance of lanes could probably be better ventilated, but you can only do so much when shooting indoors. I have brought my girlfriend in as a guest and they were more than willing to accommodate her wheelchair in the handgun lanes by moving the podium. I regularly shoot my reloads here and pick up my brass afterwards without issue.

Great indoor range. Good size too, so theres not often a wait and even if there is it goes quickly. They probably have about 18 pistol bays. Havent been on the ricle range, so not sure about that. The target distance is completely adjustable. The best part is that the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Ive found that at some ranges the staff are jerks. Definitely not the case here. They also have a lot of guns for rent and guns for purchase as well. Definitely a great place to shoot at when youre in the area.

Very friendly and cooperative staff. Had a great time with my family. This place allows kids to participate in the shooting if theyre accompanied by an adult. Also they allow visitors from other countries to shoot which some other shooting ranges dont. Highly recommended.

Most importantly, the staff is very friendly. Its hard to find that at any gun range/gun store. Every one of the people working there were very informative and helpful. They werent demanding or rushed in any way. The building and range could use a fresh coat of paint, it is a little outdated and the range could use better lighting but overall, my wife and I will absolutely be coming back. We enjoyed our time. I love their rules of letting people stay on the range as long as they need. It was the most relaxed and easy shooting I have had in a long time.

First time being there yesterday. Brought a couple family members who were visiting Texas for the first time, and decided to take them out shooting. Most other places wont let me use a shotgun, FMJ rifle ammo or requires a membership to shoot, but this one allowed me to do all three. The employee who assisted me as I entered was friendly and welcoming, and the employee who assisted me during checkout was just as friendly. Loved the dog, too. Its a little out of the way from my usual range at The Bullet Trap, but its worth being able to take every gun out of my safe and bring it with me with no problems. Ill definitely be a repeat customer.

It came to my understanding that a visitor from another state came here inquiring if there were discounts to active, retired, reserve veterans of the military. The answer is no. EMS/Firefighters/Law Enforcement personnel do not get discounts; however if an individual (regardless if they are a part of the aforesaid professionals mentioned above or not) would like to sign up to be a member theyre more than welcome. Being a member allows you buy items at a discounted price 5% firearms, 10-15% accessories, range discount price. I have attended school with 2 of the personnel there and the entire facility is very patriotic and are respectful to all servicemen and women.

Coming from AZ, Texas ranges seemed like a rip off until finding this place. Cant beat $18 for unlimited range time and the staff was cool too. I will definitely be back! Never going to another range!

On average they seem to be 5%-15% higher on most of their firearms. Ammo prices are a bit high but the business structure lends itself to convenience IE buy ammo walk 100 feet go shoot. Makes sense. Only reason I didnt give this place a 5 star is because of the older gentleman behind the counter. Although he has never given me any reason to dislike him, he can be a bit brash at times. Gun rental options are really good. Check this place out.

I had never shot a gun so I called and got an appointment to take a personal class with Lisa. I got there and she was very friendly, taught me what I needed to know before shooting, then we went in the range and she helped me out and walked me through it. She made me feel very comfortable. It all took about 40 minutes, but she only charged me for half an hour. Ended up paying $30 total for everything (I had my own gun and ammo). I will definitely be going back.

Lanes are a bit outdated and worn. Amazing selection of guns. Customer service was a little stand-offish -?Id go here again only if I was loathe to drive further.

Ive never had any problem or issues with this range. Ive gone with family, friends & coworkers since around 93. One of the few places that allow shotguns indoors and thats definitely a plus. Ive even shot my 500 S&W magnum there and that is something Ill never forgot. I highly recommended it to anyone and everyone.

I called the place to get some pricing and details. The guy that answered the phone was EXTREMELY RUDE and made me feel like I was annoying him. That equals piss poor service and Ill never give these guys my business. If you want a good professional shooting range then go check out B-Tactical in Caddo Mills, they have great customer service where as this place in Garland is EXTREMELY RUDE.

I was shooting at rifle range next to a group of 3 young amigos and they all dress in black t-shirt and shorts. Must be a team building event for their team. Yep, its Garland. Anyways, really friendly staff. I would give this place a 6 stars if they can get all the target railing system working at the rifle range. Some works and some dont. Other than that, I am afraid to look too deep into what they are selling at the store. There is a lot of gun that I want to buy.

Dumb question but I’m a felon, I was a youngster who was lost and hit a rough patch. I’ve been trouble free for 7yrs, is it possible to go and participate at the shooting range. I know what the law says but is there a possibility I can go worry free.

This place has to be the worst range I have ever been to. My friend and I went to shoot rifle and pistols. 1st issue is the price. Over priced for old technology and out of date equipment. 2nd the employees were absolutely rude. I travel between Texas and Tennessee and try gun ranges in both states. This is the first location I have ever been to that doesnt offer a military discount. I am a disabled veteran and have no issues with not receiving a discount. However, when I asked about a discount I was not given a simple no we do not. I was laughed at by several of the employees like it was a joke. They looked at me, laughed and honestly told me we do not, but we love you anyways. Im not sure what was so funny about me asking the question or that I served my country for 5 years. I spent 3 years of that time over seas defending not only my freedom but every individual in that building just so I could return and have them laugh at me. Like I said, I have no issues with not receiving a discount. I know I am not entitled to a discount. A discount is a simple gesture of respect for the Veterans/Military of this country. However, it complete and utterly disrespectful to laugh at or assume anything is funny about being a Veteran. I will never return to this location. I hope people actually read these reviews.
