I saw Dr. Boughman for the second year. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences so far from the entire staff. They are always helpful and pleasant. Dr. Boughman exhibits great pride in the level of care she provides. My entire family has started to go see them now. I highly recommend MyEyeDr. and Dr. Boughman.
I love doctor Boughman. She is friendly and so knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I had not so pleasant experience with Chelsea when I picked up my glasses. Someone needs lessons in the course “Even though it is the end of the day, I need to give 5 star customer service.”
Went in for an appointment and glasses and was treated with so much kindness. Dr. Boughman was very informative and answered any questions I had. Chelsea and Carrie did an awesome job helping me pick out frames! Instead of getting one, I got a back up pair! Chelsea did an amazing job checking me out and making me feel great about myself! I definitely would recommend this office to anyone!
RUDE!!!! They are sooooo pushy to sale since they work off commission! They are all about the money! NONE of the doctors have good bedside manner either. Do not recommend!
Location fine for regular check ups, but pray you don’t have an emergency. The one time I have an eye emergency and they cannot fit me into their schedule. Called and was told how serious it sounded and I should not wait to be seen, but they can’t fit me in nor can any other location that can. Thanks for nothing.
I recently visited this location in hopes of purchasing some prescription lenses for my Oakley sunglasses. It was later in the day and close to closing time. Heather assisted me initially as well as Maddie. Both were fantastic to work with. Instead of just simply writing up an order, they asked open ended questions. Specifically what outdoor activities I typically do where I would wear sunglasses. I am out on Lake Norman quite a bit and was hoping to purchase these so that I dont have to wear contacts/glasses. They recommended a specific type of lens that was designed for being out on the water in bright conditions. Heather wanted to make sure my prescription would be possible for Oakley to implement into their lenses and said she would reach out to them for verification before ordering. As promised I received a phone call the following day letting me know everything would work. I went ahead and ordered them and was told they wouldnt come in for around a month or so. Less than a couple weeks later they were already in. I love how they came out and am excited to wear them. Heather and Maddie went above and beyond with customer service. As mentioned earlier it was around closing time and they didnt rush me at all. It was an amazing experience and would highly recommend them to anyone. Thanks again!

The selection of frames was not good. I had to go elsewhere. They messed up my contacts order. They sent me an email asking for proof of membership so they could price match one of the big box retailers (which I should have went to.) I finally rcved the contacts that got drop shipped to me & it wasnt the correct order or quantity. I reply to the email address on Saturday pretty upset asking for them to look into it and call me back and no one called back even though its a collective email box. So ALL the snotty people who work there didnt think it was important enough to call back one of their upset patients. I finally follow up with them 3 days later, get transferred to 3 people, then on hold for 19 mins straight, and then get told we need to call you back. I still havent received a call back. Unbelievable. Horrible customer service. Obviously not treating their patients well... at least not treating me well. Im very dissatisfied.Edit: To comment on the reply- Yes, a breakdown in the communication between doctor and patient will indefinitely lead to a negative experience. ...if that is what you meant by breakdown
This low rating is honest with this place. Unreal the things they do here and then you’re left paying the bill. I tried for a year to get contacts I paid over $500 for and was due a rebate. The messed the order up so many time that it expired. Said they would redo receipt and email it which was a must for me taking them months and months after my apt oh and they gave me the wrong one twice and then tried to blame me. Guess what, no email. We back numerous times and since you can’t go in I just got brush off. Well I got a flyer for a rebate the first time but it was already expired too. Someone needs to really get a hold on this place before someone looses their eyesight.
Everyone was pleasant from the time I arrived until I left!I think her name was Hailey that took me back. She was quick, efficient and I loved her personality. Super sweet!!Next it was Dr. Boughman. She was also very friendly, answered all of my questions and even forwarded my request for a consultation regarding lasik. She was kind as well.Next was Karl!Karl is amazing! He was personable, educated me on everything I was paying for, what was covered or not and how everything is priced. He also took the time to pick out multiple frames and provide his professional opinion on what accented my face best. He took his time and even called others over since it was slow to provide some assistance because I was so indecisive.Karl had me feeling like a million bucks when I left and I absolutely LOVE the new frames. Cant wait to pick them up and I hope that you show him he’s appreciated and valuable to your company.
I have been going to my eye doctor for a few years now and each time they seem to better themselves each time. I was seen by Dr. Boughman she was outstanding the way she treated me as a patient and she was all about me asking questions and not one time rushed me. When she was done I was taken up front where I was helped by Madi but with Me being so complicated and confused her two co workers Chelsea and Megan jumped in to help me understand everything. All 3 ladies was very nice and knowledgeable. There manager has managed them well . Plus I had so many glasses to choose from and they made some good suggestions on the ones I had to choose from. I will always take my 3 boys there and my wife. They have a great staff. Thank you My Eye Dr!
I went there yesterday (10-27-20). Dr. Boltis is wonderful but for everything else HORRIBLE! Dont assume everyone has a cell phone because they dont. Doors are locked, supposed to call a number because they are too lazy to come to the door. Spray you down with disinfectant, take your temperature. Come on people why is this still going on? I can go almost anywhere without a mask on and then one of the young ladies told me to cover my nose. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I am not one to leave negative reviews because everyone can have an “off” day, however after years of inconsistency with this practice I am done. I had an appointment today to pick out glasses only. I drive 20 minutes to the office. My phone rang as I was parking & immediately hung up. An employee came out to say they were closing & had tried to call (the call I received was7 minutes before my scheduled appointment). This just tops the list of a long line of issues with this practice. I have been a long term patient as well as my family and have tried to be patient but after today I will move on. I’m frustrated. I have worked in healthcare for 23 years myself and I’m well aware things happen and can’t be controlled but enough is enough 😕
First if all Dr Scott gets 5 stars but the process does not. I had to make an appointment to get my glasses when they came in only to be handed them through the door. Why make an appointment if you just hand them to me through the door? I had 3 pair and I am trying to try them on outside in the blazing sun away from the people coming in for their appointment with no mirror to look at and no paper or anything to read to make sure I can see with them on. One pair was computer lenses which I cannot tell if they are good unless I am at a computer! So now I get to work and guess what? Everything is smaller, not like my prescription has ever been? I call and now have to wait almost a month for an appointment to see what the problem is. I cannot use my old glasses because they used my frames for my bifocals and I only have lenses wrapped in tissue. Why make appointments if you arent going to check and make sure someone can see out of them in the circumstances they are made for?
I made an appointment for a Saturday, because I work full-time and am a single parent. Not ONCE did they mention that children couldnt come to the appointment, even though they felt the need to call me 4 times to confirm my appointment- clearly they get a lot of mo shows. I show up at 11:48 to my 12pm appointment. They actually tell me to call back in 5 minutes to be let in. Then, I call back at 11:55 and am told to wait and someone will let me in. Im let in, sanitize and am placing my required mask on when the little secretary tells me Shell have to put on a mask too. Ok. Not a problem. But then, the little minion behind the desk decides to chime in and say she cant come in at all. Quite condescendingly Im asked Do you have someone to watch her? NOPE. Single mom. Not to mention, she goes everywhere with me, to all of my doctors appointments, and has not once been denied that ability. I walked out because that is completely discriminatory. My child then proceeds to burst into tears because she cant go to the eye Dr. with Mommy. This review is certainly not the last you will be hearing from me. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Don’t do it. Customer service is nonexistent! The cheap frames they offer have broken twice. They have my sons replacement glasses in the store. They insist that he must have an appt. to pick up his glasses AT THE DOOR. They literally said they do not have anyone who can hand me the glasses out the door. The nearest appt they offered is after school starts. They did offer that if I mailed the glasses, they would mail me the replacements. What???? I’m pretty sure it takes longer to package and mail replacements than to hand glasses out the front door. Save yourself the hassle go somewhere else!
I loved my entire experience at My EyeDr! Dr. Megan Boughman was so friendly and knowledgeable. She made the process very easy for gave great recommendations for contacts and possible corrective eye surgery in the event I decide to proceed in that direction. I also had a great experience at check out with Karl. He also was very friendly and gave great recommendations for glasses and was able to give advice on contact care. We swapped stories and he really helped me realize the importance of my eye care and I’m even more committed to doing right by my eyes. “We only get one pair or eyes,” is something that he said that day and I won’t forget. Even though it’s common knowledge, I wasn’t doing right but I’m inspired to keep doing so moving forward. Wonderful experience from beginning to end.

Call to get my husbands prescription for him they tell me that they cant help me because his prescription was too old..... So then my husbands mad he calls and they can help him and get his perscription for him from 2015 and 2017 its no problem just a bunch of liars I would not recommend them to anybody and their glasses are overpriced we went to Walmart to fill his prescription because their glasses are a lot cheaper same quality And the best part is if you break your Walmart glasses They will fix them and replace them for free as long as you get the same ones
First I want to start off by saying I am totally shocked at the reviews!. This is my 3rd yr coming to this location to get eyeglasses, the staff is very friendly, & so are the doctors. I have never had to wait a long period of time before having my eye exam, & even with my extremely difficult prescription for my eyeglasses, they were ready for pick up in a very short period of time, 12 days at the most. My experiences with this office has been nothing but positive only. I don’t think people should let these negative reviews stop them from going, And I’m certainly glad I didn’t read them before I went Lol. Definitely will continue to get my eyecare here.
I had some issues with my prescription, but I was compensated for everything! Ian went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of! Hes the greatest, and hes the main reason Ill continue coming back! Also, the ladies at the front desk are always very pleasant! Also, I dont know why I keep using exclamation points at the end of every sentence!
I had an excellent experience at the Gastonia, NC store. Dr. Megan Boughman was wonderful! It was the most easy process I have ever experienced. I will be returning as long as I live in this area. I am very happy with speed, quality and service. Really a nice group of people.
I don’t ever write reviews but today I have too! After going multiple times to get a contact problem fixed at another location I got a last minute appointment on a Saturday at this one. Amy was SO AMAZING, she went above and beyond to help me when I needed it the most . Pam (or pat ) was also just as amazing helping me get what I needed today without any fuss. The DR spent so much time with me helping me figure out my contact problem which the other location just sent me on my way. I honestly am so amazed by their customer service and help. Thank you!

When I went to pick up my glasses the first time, I told them the prescription was wrong. Iwas told it would take some time to get use to the new prescription. After a week, I told them, the prescription was wrong, they then checked and said they had made the wrong prescription and it would be another two weeks. Horrible customer service. Two eyeglass technicians waiting on one person when other customers are waiting to be seen. Your time is not valuable to them at all and they are low key rude
People there are nice enough, however plan on spending at least 2 hours there for even a simple eye exam. Even if you have to come in for a fitting or something, you end up waiting FOREVER for someone to see you. I never had this problem when they were Summit Eye Care. I am due for my eye appointment now and am looking for another place.

I loved this office when it was Summit Eye Care, since moving to new location and changing to MyEyeDr it is not the same. We were there for 2 hours for a simple eye exam. Once we started looking at frames and then glasses, we found them outrageously priced. Will be looking for a new office.
I wasnt properly informed on what all I would be charged for. I was going in to get an eye exam for an updated prescription and they charged me for the eye exam and a fitting fee. Not once did they mentioned this to me prior to my exam.
If you have Medicaid, do not go here. My daughter in law has been waiting on glasses since March. She shouldve went to my doctor because they have your glasses back within the 3rd week. Well, at least she knows not to go here next time.
I went in to get my yearly eye exam today. However i wanted to get fitted for contacts as well. The doctor stated she wouldn’t be able to get the same brand contact for both eyes . So my left eye would be one brand & my right eye a different brand due to my prescription. I was not satisfied with that. Then when it was time to check out the receptionist couldn’t find my glasses prescription to give me. This was my first time visiting this location & i will not be back. Oh & to top it off the doctor stated she had only been licensed for a few months.
I was worried about coming here after reading these reviews but honestly the staff is very kind. The only reason why I’ve been here as long as I have is because they are looking for he best options for me. I would recommend this eye dr for sure!
The reason I even gave this place one star is because I actually thought Dr Macqueen took his time with me to get everything right when it came to my glasses and contact prescriptions correct. However, ninety percent of the staff that works there treats you like garbage. Especially if you call, terrible... one of the most horrible customer service experiences Ive ever had anywhere. It doesnt matter when, or why I call to ask a question, but they always act like something is my fault and just want to get off the phone.
Dr Buchanan is the nicest most informative caring doctor ever. I told her I wished all doctors treated their patients like she does. I would give her 100 Stars if I could
I had to give a star in order to leave a review, well really not a review...These reviews are stressing me bad!I dont have any kind of insurance so my mother paid for all this and this is where she goes....she has been seeing Dr Scott for years and Im not a fan of him at all judging from past experience with him, hes very condescending and hateful imo. I asked not to see him and was accommodated, they put me with Dr.Bowman....hoping she isnt the one that another reviewer claimed she has only been licensed for a short time.She and the assistant were crazy nice so was impressed, also the tall blond guy that helped me pick my frames was awesome.....heres the thing...my glasses are now ready for pickup and going to get them this evening and just decided today to look at the rating and reviews and now have major anxiety! Front office staff rude and unaccommodating - made to feel as if they are unapologetically inconvenienced by my requests for help and service. Also, the staff seems less than thrilled to do contact fittings - definitely got the impression that it’s a hassle for them.We were exactly 11 mins late for an appt but I called ahead to see if we could be seen or if I’d need to reschedule. I live 30 mins away. The lady on the phone said we had a 15 min span before having to reschedule and to “come on. We’re fine”. Once we arrived, the girl at the front desk immediately told me I’d have to reschedule and she was “sorry” that someone told me I had 15 mins and they couldn’t see us today after all. Take your services elsewhere. I know I will pull my whole family after this is over and done. Doctors, be sure your front office staff are equipped/experienced to handle patient concerns in a professional manner - it may cost you business otherwise.
My whole family goes to this doctor and has for many years. Have never been disappointed or dissatisfied. They are efficient and knowledgeable and have a great selection of eyewear.

I switched insurance companies and found out I couldnt keep going to my previous eye doctor, so I tried out MyEyeDr and loved it! Ive been three times and Ill definitely keep going back. Everyone there was nice and pleasant to deal with. The doctors didnt just examine my eyes, write some notes, and then send me on my way. They take the time to actually explain whats going on and will clarify anything you need. The eyewear consultants are also amazing! Ive had awesome experiences with them each time Ive been.If you want something cheap, go somewhere cheap, but if you want excellent quality at decent prices, go to MyEyeDr!
My daughter went originally and got her glasses in less than a week. She broke her glasses on May 10 and I came in to use the warranty that I paid extra for. I was told that it would take about a week. When a week passed and I did not have them, I stopped in and was told they quote day was May 24th, but I should have them before then. I explained that EOGs started May 23rd and was told I would probably have them by Tuesday 5/22. I still do not have her glasses. When I called 5/22 concerning them, I was told that it takes 2 weeks and she wont have them until May 24. EOGs start May 23rd and end the 24th. She wont have her glasses until AFTER EOGs. There was ample time given to get her glasses. I will NEVER return. Whats the point of paying for a warranty and then it taking longer to receive them. This was not the time quoted. STAY AWAY as time means nothing to this business.
Update: I really liked this place but I called today to make my family and I an appointment and they said only 2 of us could come at one time. We have always all went together because I pay anything the ins didnt cover and its more convenient. They just let 4 customers walk out the door and she didnt even act like she cared. Very disappointed!This was my first time going to My Eye Dr and I was very pleased. My whole family went and from the time we walked in the door to the time we left everybody was so friendly. The doctors took time to explain to each of us what was going on and what they were doing, they were great too! I had to go back to get my glasses adjusted (my fault, not theirs) and the girl was so helpful and nice. Needless to say this is our new eye Dr. Thank you guys for making our visit great, I just cant say enough how happy we are!

I went in today for an initial exam and contact lens fitting appointment. I was a patient at summit eye who sold out to this practice. I followed Dr Farnham here who is fantastic, however the prices of this office are so high its offensive. This is a chain office with many practices so obviously the doctors are not choosing their own fees. I ask the front desk lady how much an exam was (I do not have vision insurance so I pay cash) she tells me $99. Thats reasonable, I paid that at summit. I then ask her how much the contact fitting is. She hands me a paper with 4 or 5 prices on it, of course I look at the cheapest to most expensive. The minimum for a fitting is $115 and maximum $500. The range varied on what kind of contacts they determined you needed. I ask her if these prices were a joke, seriously I have never in my life. She tells me they will let me know which category I would be before they charged me. I said ok but thought it was ridiculous, even the minimum is more than what I paid at summit eye. I called Americas Best from their waiting room. They tell me they charge $79 for the exam and the fitting!! The assistant comes out calls my name, I handed her my paper and told her I was out of there. This is highway robbery and disgusting they charge people these kinds of prices. What disgusts me even more are the amount of people who are patients and being charged these outrageous fees who probably cant afford it. If you dont have vision insurance or even if you do go somewhere else that wont take advantage of you. Absolutely insane!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
Went in to get company paid safety glasses....over 12 weeks later I called them because i hadnt heard from them....they said it would take another week during which time the lab called me to ask for money...i hung up on them and 2 days later my glasses were ready.....never going back.
