Went here to buy a car a couple years back and it’s one of the worst car buying experiences I’ve had. The cars shown to me were within my budget but way overpriced for what they were. One was a Metro hatchback with no rear view mirror, a paper plate in the floor, and a muffler hanging down to the pavement. They wanted at least three times KBB value on it. Another was an S10 that was previously owned by a very large man and the seat was as far back as possible with the adjustment latch broken off the seat. The salesman (Jason) said that I could buy some vice grips to fix the seat and also didn’t think to inform me of a mechanical issue with the S10 I learned about later from another salesman.Speaking of salespeople, I know of two former employees of questionable repute. One would call my former workplace and make up problems on his orders to get free food. If he didn’t have an order he could manipulate, he would demand employee discounts. The other one moved out of state to avoid criminal charges here in Kentucky.Then there’s the telephone calls you get. If you call and ask about one of the vehicles on their lot, expect phone calls from their sales staff for the next three months. And no, telling them you aren’t interested won’t change anything.

Leaving a 5-star review because they don’t delete those. I’ve left a bad review here a couple times and both times it’s been hidden. Notice how all the recent reviews are good. GH has a reputation in Glasgow for being awful so I think I’m not the only one they’ve silenced. Go here if you want to be conned into a car you can’t afford.

Excellent experience! Came around 9:30 at night and they were STILL HERE!! They did not act like they were in a hurry and they were more than happy to help us! They were so kind, willing to help us from appraising our trade to allowing us to test drive after hours. Gained a customer by kindness! Chip and Dan are great and we came back in the morning to buy!

Brian went thru every detail of every vehicle we looked at and hung on with us as we looked at many trucks on the lot. He huddled to make sure our time was respected. I thought it was great! My salesman, John, was very helpful & friendly, made the transaction & buying process simple & painless, but I never did get my pic from him that they took when I bought the car :( & although I was supposed to get a call as soon as my tag/license platw came in, I had to call them several times & nearly got pulled over because it had been sitting there for 2-3 months & my temp tag expired!!! That NEVER should have happened!!

They wasted my time and gas, and I lost five hours of income. Being told over the phone they could work with my score to get me into the truck I wanted. Then tried to get me to sign on a truck that was $10,000 more than the one I picked. You would think a business who claims to work with 20 banks could easily get approval for an $8,000 lien, when the scores and credit of the person applying are good with an excellent payment history.

This Service team is the best! I even bring my Kia Optima, & my Chevy Equinox here for all my regular service and anything that isnt factory warranty related. Today when an issue came up that was covered on the factory warranty, they referred me to a GM dealership to have the work done at no charge. I drove 1hr45min to this dealership after finding a car on their website. I reviewed everything on the phone with Josh Adwell and he assured me the car was in perfect condition. The photos on their website were also touched up to make the car appear in perfect condition. When I arrived to make the purchase, I discovered the car had extensive damage including: hail damage, several gashes in the body that were badly covered with mismatched paint, dents, a destroyed hubcap and a broken front grill. I am livid with the lies and dishonesty and would never recommend this dealership to anyone. I cant believe Josh lied about the condition of the car hoping I would give in and buy it just because I drove a long way. They have no respect for their customers and will clearly tell any lie necessary to make a sale. Josh is the definition of a sleazy car salesman and I recommend going somewhere where the employees have integrity.

What can be said about a bad used car shopping experience at Gillie-Hyde? Plenty: the staff did NOT listen to what we said we needed/wanted; did NOT listen when we said that we had a cap on the amount of CASH we would spend; kept trying to steer us towards more expensive vehicles that would require financing; or overpriced, very high mileage, wore out vehicles; acted if we were wasting their time; and kept talking about the Mustang they had just sold. We did buy the car we needed and wanted for the amount of CASH we had budged. BUT not from Gillie-Hyde.

This is the worst place too buy a car they are big lier . Put 2000 down got a 2009 Chrysler 300. Told us that we could trade it in . They even call us too come down too trade it in when we got there want more money I told them I just give you 2000 . Then he said since you dont have a down payment just pay a couple of months then come back. 5 months later went back want more money so I said 1000. They want more so I said 1500. . But before that took me too a car that wreck. I told him I dont want that. Still want us too test drive it. I said I dont no why I dont want it. Took me too see another. Was not there. So they show another one .am telling them my husband has too be able too fit in . Quess what the smallest on on the lot. So I said do it look like he can fit in that small car. So he said well let me talk too the boss . Come back and said well we have nothing you can get. They are a big rip off.

Horrific car buying experience and didnt even buy a car there. I went to look at a car they had listed somewhere online and I got there and the car was there with the mileage stated they proceeded to tell me that there was a minor problem with the car how it made a noise and the air conditioning only worked on one side I quickly realized and the car just looked roughed up and after much arm twisting I finally walked away but instead of leaving I was so desperate for a car I looked around the lot and they tried to talk me into a new car after assuring them I was set on my price they showed me a small Jeep after test driving that and after more fun arm twisting (yeah right) they told me that they were only going to give me $500 for my van which was worth between $4000 and 5000 I told them in no uncertain terms that that would never happen I proceeded out of the stealership and told to have a nice day and the manager followed me out to my car and said whats wrong I said I cant do that that will never happen have a nice day and he screamed at while I was closing the door oh you wasnt ever gonna buy car real smart like. I got news for him I proceeded to leachman Buick/GMC (which is a great place to buy a car btw just ask for Chris) and I found just what I was looking for that same day the approximately year model, the mileage, had to forget a couple of options but I was on a strict budget but I got the price I wanted and more than what I asked for on my trade, a tank of gas, a full cleaning of course and an oil change good deal. In short stay away from Gillie Hyde at all costs, liars and cheats
