I had a flat tire,l took the car after speaking to Mike at the shop,he took the tire and shortly came to tell me it cannot be repaired as the nail got in wrong angle.. he then tried to sell me a new tire for$180..l told him this was a brand new car only 6 months..l told him to put my small one, paid him $24.99... literally for nothing.. took the flat at another tire shop where l paid $10 & they fixed it..l told them jokingly what l was told at carx...l wont write the expletives they used to describe my experience at carx

I really like how they have no problem bringing a customer into the garage to show exactly what they see and to explain problems in laymans terms. Recently Bill has been helping me out with inspection of some issues I am having with a new used car I purchased. Very impressed with this CarX. Had an issue with my wiper fluid nozzle. The manager, Bill, said they could take a look at it right away. I had the needed part but they replaced it, hooked up the hoses and adjusted within 10 minutes. These guys can scan you anytime you want. Professional scammers!!! My car was overheating because the radiator cap was loose and released pressure. These guys wanted to change the radiator completely the pipes and everything for only a minor problem. I would totally not recommend it if you have to do more than oil change at this place.

I went in and the District Manager was filling in for the regular Manager as he was out sick for a few weeks. Though I did not know Patrick at all he was very professional and good at explaining the problem and giving me the best price possible for the repair! I will definitely return there for all of my vehicles repairs when we need them done!

I had my break system light come on suddenly and after going to a few other places that couldnt see me immediately, I stumbled upon this car-x. Everyone was so incredibly helpful - they were able to checkout my car immediately, I got periodic updates on the status of my cars check up, and after driving the car around following the inspection, they didnt find anything wrong. They didnt charge me for anything for checking out my car and I left with peace of mind. Next time I need some repairs done on my car, I am heading back here. Quality service all around.

I am a first time customer. I brought my vehicle into Mikes shop after being told on the phone that they would be happy to take a quick look at my cars issue. Not only did they make room on their schedule to take a peek but they also fixed it on the spot! I was in and out within a half an hour. They were kind, quick, and clean. First time visit today - I called around looking for someone reliable to take a look at my wifes car which had been recently making some bad noises while accelerating and so I ended up calling the GE Car-X and spoke to Mike, who was very courteous and accommodated us the same day. My wife arrived at the store on time and they took good care and immediately replaced a rusted heat shield that apparently was typical of Subaru! I came back to this shop because five years ago, a manger named Andy helped me out of an emergency situation ( I just happened to blow my tire out on Roosevelt literally a couple hundred yards from the store). Andy went above and beyond anything I had ever experienced, and Car X has been in my mind ever since. Because of that, when I needed work done on my brakes today, I didn’t look around, didn’t even price check, just came straight to this store. Like his predecessor, the manager Mike was fantastic. I went when I had a quick problem having to fix the shroud plate underneath my car. This was my first time here and it was one of the best auto places Ive been to. Mike is such a nice guy by greeting each guest as they come in to his store. They were a little busy but I was patient and Mike gave me a great deal for the repair and gave me coupons so I can get some money off on other services when I come back. I would recommend this place a lot.

I wouldnt know how good the experience was. Trying to buy a car from out of state, called in and the manager himself said to have the car stop by around 3, no appointment needed. Even offered to buy them lunch cause inspections are free. My guy waited 20 minutes, was told an hour.Just make sure you get an appointment. Good Luck

In and out in less than an hour. For an alignment. Purchased the 3 year alignment. Pricing was fair and upfront. Mike was polite, explained everything clearly. I will be back for maintenance. Interesting note, extremely clean bathroom.

They have even picked me up and dropped me off at my house while they work on the car. I recently had my car tuned and bought new tires. I have taken my cars many times to get my oil changed. They always tell me what is wrong. This time I wanted to know if I should donate my car to a ministry that I have been working with or if the car was in pretty bad shape. I brought it in for an oil change and they said it may not be worth it after looking at the car. I was very pleased that they did not charge me anything or even make me buy an oil change.

I had seen a screw in a tire and went in for tire repair. Turns out it had come out already but they did a thorough check of the tire looking for punctures anyway. They did about a half hour of work for free! Really appreciated that, and I can drive without worry. Online appointment easy, didnt have to wait. Great experience.

Ive worked with Brian on multiple occasions and he has done excellent work for a good price. He explains everything thoroughly, shows you the problem and gives options for the repair. I have old cars so I appreciate their pragmatic approach to what I should do and not do. Brandon has also been easy to work with and quite helpful. Overall I have had multiple good experiences there.

Brought my car in Friday for a new muffler. Was done in a very reasonable time and the price was very fair. Jerry changed the muffler and did a very professional job including welding the pipes together. They provide excellent service! The staff is very friendly. I especially like how the technician that will will be working on your car comes to greet you. They ask if there is anything special that you would like from them to check out on your car as well.

Do yourself a favor. If you own a 2006 impala/that generation of impala and need a new muffler...do it yourself. I paid $275 to get a walker muffler ($61 @ auto zone) installed thinking it was going to be welded on. I waited 2 hours to get the muffler installed (not an exaggeration because they did not have it in stock) only to find out that it was clamped on for the install. I literally could have done this install myself for less than $100 out the door in a fraction of the time. What a crazy upcharge. I understand they have to make money but such a crazy upcharge on the muffler plus the clamp-job install. I made the mistake. Trying to allow others to not make the same mistake.

Yesterday I visited the carx location in Glen Ellyn and it was probably the best experience Ive ever had in an auto shop. I went in expecting to get an oil change and replace a leaking gasket turns out there was other issues I wasnt even aware of and the kind hearted honest man who was running the front desk took me out to my car and showed me where several of my issues were coming from and how it wouldnt make sense to fix my issue because the cost is more than what I paid for the car.(1998 Toyota Camry) In this business that is very rare he could have fixed what I asked him too but he was honest and let me know it wasnt in my best interest. Also all the staff was very friendly and polite. I will be returning soon 😊

I brought my car in Car-X for the first time for a battery installation. Mike was super friendly when I walked in. They notified me of an oil leak and about my muffler then brought me into the garage to show me exactly what was happening. Mike was honest about the greater urgency with the leak and the lesser urgency with the muffler which would have been the more expensive repair. When I came back to pick up my car and settle bill Mike let me know they figured out a simpler procedure to fix the leak which knocked off $60 from my bill! I will definitely be back.

Recently I bought four new tires from the guys at Car-X and would recommend them to anyone looking for a friendly and reasonably priced shop in the Glen Ellyn area. I arrived at around 5:15pm and Chris, the manager, promptly got on the phone and had another Car-X employee pick up my tires from a store in Aurora. Chris and his mechanic waited for the tires to arrive and got me going right away. They both stayed around until about 45 minutes after their closing time to make sure I got everything taken care of that day. I have also had a good experience on four other occasions with not only my car, but my girlfriends. We both are fairly new to the state and are happy to know that the people at Car-X are not only friendly but professional and willing to go that extra step to take care of their customers.

I went here to inspect why my tire lost air slowly. They fixed the problem, and found another issue of the sway bar as well. I just did the oil change somewhere else not long time ago. They didnt figure out any problem! Im not going back to that store. I feel safer to have my car checked here.
