I used these people to ship my guns. They charged WAY too much and please look at the condition of one of my guns (2 pictures), BROKEN trigger guard (could it be) due to poorly packaged by Smalls Guns and Gold (my 5 long guns were loose in the box). The Pistol case holds my Rugger Super Black Hawk. Smalls Guns and Gold (despite assurances they would pack appropriately and my offer to pack correctly) this is how it was cushioned when the box was opened, NO PACKAGING material at all! I will NEVER use Smalls Guns and Gold for ANYTHING! Collin Smalls, and bad company only interested in $$$$! NO NRA DISCOUNT! Transfer fee was something like $45 per gun and then they wanted to charge me something like $375 just to ship my long guns and that is on top of the $45/gun transfer fee and even more to ship my pistol. I know the freight business and that was NOT even close, ended up about 1/2 of that. Colin Smalls claim of we are the cheapest in town is not true, they are CHEAP and not in a good way and I feel they did their best to take advantage. Be afraid and make sure you get ALL FEES disclosed and documented up front, and then check around. Colin refused a family transfer of guns to my father in St. Louis. Unfortunately they were not honest and up front about their fees...until it was TOO LATE and Colin had entered my guns in his ledger....only then did the $45 or so transfer fee come up, the recieve in St. Louis was $20 per gun. Thanks Colin Smalls, but large on the profit.

I bought my first real gun, non-shotgun, from this company. Im new to the area, new to guns and love supporting local businesses. I needed a bear stopping gun and was able to have done research over the past couple years and knew what I wanted. They were very friendly and fair in price. Comparable to everyone else out there. The selling point that will keep me coming back is the phone call I received today. Mind you I bought my gun Tuesday. Left the store new gun in tow and a huge smile. Last thing I expected was a phone call a couple days later. I thought something bad happened when I started listening to my voicemail... Wrong! They were calling to let me know Colt has a rebate for a free range bag! How cool. I would have never known. This is why you should buy here. Theyre genuine people who look out for you. Im very happy with my decision and will buy all my guns from them!

This store is the place to go if you live anywhere between Vail, Aspen, and Grand Junction. Its a great small business that fills a gap many sportsmen have complained about in this area. They sell firearms over the counter and through custom orders. The have a good selection of ammo, firearm paraphernalia, knives, and tactical gear. They also do background checks and FFL transfers. Everything is offered at very reasonable prices and the owners are a great family with a lot of firearm knowledge who can answer or find the answer to any question you throw at them. I definitely recommend you go check them out!

Prices are horrible, avoid this place at all cost for ammo or transfers. Other reviews are clearly friend and family or the owners themselves. Go to bears and archery and guns, prices are better.
