Let’s start by saying that Randy is super kind, funny, and accommodating. Both of my piercings were done at a great angle. However, his policy of the customer choosing the jewelry is not necessarily all great. The jewelry is beautiful and good quality, so that isn’t the issue. The issue is that he lets you have completely free range. For most cartilage/lobe/nostril piercings, the selection is good. Internally threaded, surgical grade titanium. However, with piercings like a rook or daith issues arise. A curved barbell is industry standard, but a short straight post was used in my rook. This extends the healing and swelling time, as the swollen parts would rub against the post. When I asked, he simply said it was the jewelry I chose. He also walked away right before piercing my friend and I, hiking up our body’s natural anxiety. We also bled quite a bit. My regular piercer seemed concerned, and when I mentioned where we went her face said it all. Overall, it was a fine experience, but there are definitely lanes for improvement.

Firstly, The place was clean and people are very friendly and polite. But cant recommend on tattooing. I got my second tattoo, When they said its gonna look better when its done and believed them and let them do their work. He changed the flow of the design in mid tattoo and he goes too deep at some places. I got my second tattoo at same spot as first one, but its most painful compared to the first one. And now I regret for getting the second tattoo.

I went in to get my conch piercing, and I like the piercing however I worry about an infection. I specifically asked the piercer for instructions about cleaning my piercing, but he only gave me two q-tips (as if thatll last). He told me to just clean it with warm water and a q-tip which does not seem right when I consider all other advice Ive received from previous piercers. The pricing was good, but I wont be back.

I had a tattoo done by owner and artist Randy about 10 years ago. I was very happy, so I came back. This tattoo is the Chinese characters for Shaolin Kung Fu. Ive practiced it for over 10 years. Its important to me, so I wanted to be sure they looked clean and calligraphy-like. Randy really knows how to do tattoos and he has over 30 years of experience. I consider that part of the cost. Im happy to pay for skill and experience.The tattoo never got very red or swollen, it healed really well. Within 4 days I had no swelling or redness! The picture is one week after I got it and its almost completely healed. Make sure to do what Randy tells you on aftercare and youll be happy. Ace Tattoo is my first choice when getting a tattoo! :-) Ready to re-ink the first one!

Do not go to this place and get a tattoo he went way to deep into my skin. And I’m not sure why he put a dot above the “T”… them people have no ideal what they are doing

Me and my friend came here to get our noses pierced together. He was very friendly and had a good aura to make us feel less nervous! my friend isn’t the best around needles, and when she was feeling a bit dizzy they let her sit down and drink some water, took care of her real well! as for me, he cheered me up as i got it done. it’s a great place to get a piercing done!

Not at all reasonable prices and the vibe was off-My tat was cute and all but it costed 100 for only being the size of a coin (I wanted it that way though) and it only took him like 10 minutes to do too.Also, he was being weird about prices when we were looking at piercings. It felt like he was trying to see how much he can get off of us...Good art but will definitely not be going back there.

About two months ago I came to Ace tattoo to have my current nose ring put back into my nose because it fell out. I did have the ring out for a couple days but wanted him to see whether the hole was still open. I also wanted an infected piercing taken out of my ear, but he insisted that I simply put in a new earring, despite how infected it was. Subsequently, he repierced my nose over my previous hole that was there, assuming that the piercing closed even though he didn’t check to see if it was. When I told him I changed my mind about putting in a new earring in my infected ear, he was weird about it and didn’t seem to understand why I was apprehensive on putting a jewel in my swollen ear. Clearly he just wanted to earn his profits because he insisted that I purchase a new nose ring and have it repierced and to put in a new earring in my already infected ear. I’m currently still experiencing issues with my new nose piercing, as it has become infected twice now. I never had this problem when I had it pierced originally at a different place. It is clear that just using water to clean a piercing is ineffective and leads to infections.

My septum piercing got stuck and I needed it removed. Called and the guy said $20 remove it. Showed up and the first thing he attempted to do was break my ring, the ring is over $200. I asked him not to break it. He went, got a different tool and broke it anyway. His response was oh well. No apologies, nothing. Horrible customer service. I am looking for a place to do my other piercings and purchase jewelry.

I had my septum done and randy was great! he was super nice and i was a little bit scared but it was good. i have a low pain tolerance but it wasn’t even that bad. i wasn’t confused about aftercare at all and i knew exactly what i was supposed to do. i love my piercing so so so much and it’s great. the placement was great. he didn’t have the exact jewelry i wanted but randy was able to flip around the ring to pierce it the other way so the jewel wasn’t there. he was super super nice to me and my mom. thank you so much! 10/10 recommend this place.

Randy is my go to tattoo guy and his wife is the sweetest person. They are both super professional and friendly. Randy has done 8/11 tattoos I have. And he’s pierced the left side of my nose. He makes sure I’m ready and relaxed before sticking needles in me. Funniest guy alive & I will continue to go here for the rest of my life.

Horrible experience- scheduling the appointment was bad enough but once i got there, things just got worse. Very unprofessional to say the least. Randy does not know what he is doing. Luckily, because i felt so uncomfortable, I ended up walking out before he pierced me and I am so glad I did. I was in the chair ready to go and decided at the last minute I didnt trust Randy with piercing me. No regrets.

Went in for a walk in with a buddy of mine. The place is cool, they were super welcoming. I got a simple tattoo that ended up costing me $240 (the same amount my buddy paid for his) when I was in the chair for about 20 minutes.Randy offered to fix them free of charge to help us love our tattoos. Everything was going actually really great ; very clean, the guy is funny which makes it soo comforting but he scarred my skin really bad. There’s many many parts of the tattoo that he went way too deep but I also get it. He make the lines very bold and beautiful but when you take a closer look at it. You can for sure tell how he seriously went too deep into my skin. The healing process has taking longer then it should be. it’s been about a week 1/2 and it hurts just as much as it did the first day. If you have done it to me, I know for sure you have done it to many other people which is honestly disappointing as a artist. Would not recommend for tattoos but for sure piercings.

Worst piercing experience Ive ever had. Randy is a funny guy and all. However, when I requested for a helix and a conch piercing, he mistook (without checking with me) the helix piercing as another conch piercing, so he took out the ring and pierced my ear again. On top of that, he chose a ring that was too small for the conch piercing, which didnt leave enough room for my ear to swell (note: conch piercings are usually one of the most painful ear piercings due to the thickness of the cartilage). This caused for the ring to rip through my cartilage, which was pretty painful as you can imagine. I ended up having to go to another tattoo/piercing shop to take my ring out, and I went to urgent care AND to the emergency room inorder to drain the pus and abscess out of my ear. I was charged full price (even with the mispiercing), and I am still in the process of trying to receive a refund. It is safe to say that I will never come here again.UPDATE: Ive gone to the dermatologist twice and ENT (ear, nose, throat) since my visit to the ER. Ive also emailed Randy for a refund, and at the time, he told me that Id be able to get it in two weeks because the shop was closed (screenshot is included below). However, when I called in today, he said he refused to give me a refund because of this review I wrote. I then told him what I wrote was just the truth, and he, a professional piercer, then proceeded to YELL at me, an 18 year old girl (and most importantly a customer) with cauliflower ear, while I was able to remain calm. What I am trying to say is that not only is Randy incredibly unprofessional, but he also is rude and has horrible customer service. I advise to never even step into this store.

Awful experience. Randy kept leaving me during my tattoo to assist other customers. Went to deep and left scaring. Lines were uneven. Many ink spots from bouncing with the needle. Spent over $300 on a botched ink job. Had to spend another $300 to pay a real professional to fix his work. Argued about the cash only policy. Apparently I was supposed to know that without being told. There is a sign. Didnt see it until it was pointed out to me. Never going back. Do not recommend. I would take a tattoo from a prisoner with a homemade gun out of forks and ink pens before returning to this side show.

Got my daughters ears pierced here and it was an amazing experience! They were very gentle and encouraging with her. Randy was awesome. Quick but thorough and accurate. After she was done, she got to bang the Gong of Courage and they gave her a Certificate of Bravery.I would definitely recommend taking your kid to get their ears pierced here by an industry veteran in a clean shop compared to Claires or some other mall shop.

Terrible business. my friend got her septum ring done there by guy named Randy. he told her to pick the jewelry even though she had no idea what she was doing. He gave her piercing way too small for her nose and her nose, lips, and inside of her nose completely swelled up to the point where it was very infected. She took proper care of it, but Randy gave her piercing too small. when she asked for her money back he basically told her that they won’t give her a refund. She ended up going to another piercing place and they’ve heard a lot of other horror stories as well from this business. I’ll never be going here, and on top of that she called them over 25 times before someone picked up the phone.

My wife and I got matching tattoos back in February, the place was busy and randy was loving it. Work the front counter with style and was able to do the tattoos for us in a calm environment. Cant wait for the next tattoo, thank you for all you do randy!

They also offer topical anesthetic for people who like tattoos but not the pain!

I went to get a tattoo with my boyfriend and we walked in at 1:30 and were out by out 3. From the moment we walked in we felt very welcomed and comfortable. Randy did a great job on both of our tattoos and has a great sense of humor which some ppl on here don’t seem to understand that it’s humor, which is a shame because he so funny. I am 54 years young and I went to Ace Tattoo to have my nose pierced, I was so scared but Randy was so beautiful in helping me to stay calm, which was very soothing. I had such a great experience that anytime someone would ask me if I knew of a great tattoo place to get a tattoo and I would recommend Ace. On 7/19/2017 I had a massive heart attack that ended with me having a triple bypass, well I wanted to get a tattoo to represent my survival, so I went back and asked their opinion on how I could do this? I had an idea, and they put it into action and I love it. I would recommend Ace to any and everyone !!

Piercing experience is extremely unprofessional. Price is good, though.They dont use swell bars. Very unprepared. Re-pierce the same spot multiple times, etc.

They worked us in Immediately for three of us to get our ears pierced, Randy was funny and dealt with my freaking out the entire time very well. Thought the price was reasonable, everything was sterile and packaged, I felt comfortable with him as a professional, just super scared of the pain to come. Price included any of the jewelry in the case.

I called ahead to make sure Ace had 14g and 16g curved and straight barbell retainers, he said yes they had all of those. I showed up, told him I needed two 14g straight ones, two 14g curved ones, and two 16g curves ones. He brought out six 18g straight barbell retainers. He didn’t say anything other than ‘here you go.’ I said they were all the same size and all straight. He said ‘yep, one size fits all.’ Which I know isn’t true. Unfortunately I had a very sudden MRI scheduled for the next morning and couldn’t wait for proper ones to ship to me, plus I’d called 6 other stores before going to Ace and no one had any in-store, so I didn’t have a choice. He charged me $40 for cheap, throw-away plastic retainers, none of which were the right size or shape.Look, I get it if you don’t have them in stock, but he specifically told me ten minutes before I arrived that he had what I needed, then didn’t apologize or even acknowledge that he lied - and gouged me on the price.I feel taken advantage of, and I hope anyone thinking of stopping in for a quick pick-up will change their mind.

Randy probably did too much coke or psychedelics as a young person because he is a delusional living in a fantasy world. They use trash bags for pillow cases, uses dirty equipment for piercings, and will tell you you’re wrong if you have an issue with any of that. Please stay away for this shop if you have an option. Definitely don’t tell him this is your first tattoo otherwise he will charge double. This shop is known as a joke to the rest of the shops in the twin cities.Don’t believe me? Ask any shop in Minneapolis.

This place is a rip off for ear piercings. It’s 100$ dollars for lobe piercings. Are you kidding me? Brought my daughter there and had complete sticker shock when he told me it was a hundred. St Sabrinas charges 35$ for lobe piercings. I will never return here again.

I have been going to this place since I was I would say 16 and now 40. I have had both tattoos and piercings done there. Tattoos always good, piercings not so much. I have had 5 done there and only one made it. My belly button was pierced too deep the first time, had it redone years later and worked out. I recently had a surface piercing done and had a black eye also for a few weeks. Seems like they have heavy hands and go for the kill when piercing. Unfortunately after my last piercing I won’t go back.

Ive grown up in the area and always was not told to go to Ace. People said it was dirty and things like that. Well everyone that I knew that had actually been there for tattoos, had no complaints. I went just to look into getting a tattoo a couple years ago. I knew what I wanted, a memorial tattoo for my mom, I just wanted to shop around a little bit. Well, they got me in that day, gave me an amazing deal, and did an AMAZING job. I plan to go back next month for my brothers memorial tattoo!

This place was the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. Randy was so friendly and did an amazing job with my neediness! He made sure it was exactly the way I wanted it! I would definitely come back here!

Randy help me plan my daughters surprise 18th birthday tattoo. He was very detail orientated and paid attention to exactly what we wanted even when we had to change it multiple times. It resulted in a great family experience for my daughters birthday and was really flexible and being able to finish all of our tattoos that same weekend. We love Randy!

The owner cause my ear to swell and doesn’t know his information on piercings! I asked for snug piercing and asked for a small ring to start out with. I had it in for a month before it was to painful I went to a different piercing turns out my ear wasn’t made for a Standard snug piercing along with that the ring was way to small for the initial piercing.Wouldn’t recommend!!

Had to get a new nose ring. Very cute, quaint tattoo shop. Had a small but decent selection of jewelry. The employee was very sweet and chatty.
