I was recommended to AC transmissions of Golden from my dedicated Subaru mechanic when I had some odd Check Engine lights go off. I spoke to Brian the same day as my visit to my mechanic who could not read the Codes. He was very helpful and even offered to do the code read the same day if sin could leave my car with them, and it was a busy day for them so it was very helpful. I was given lots of details of what the codes got be related to and what normally those codes indicate ( there seem to be 3 degrees of repairs that go along with them ). I am not an expert on cars beyond basics and especially regarding the complexities of transmissions. I felt comfortable enough to ask many questions and also on the shops extensive experience to fix my issues. I got the news back later that day of what the codes indicated would be the problem and repairs. He was very thorough with the diagnosis and also how quickly they could do the repairs which was great. I was also given details onI got my car back the next afternoon and very close within the window that was given for the repairs to be completed. While I was waiting, I had a ton of questions and Brian was very thorough in his explanations and took the time to go over everything. I was very appreciative. I feel good that the repairs will add life onto my engine and I can get more life out of it. I am a very happy customer and was very pleased with the work completed (and especially with the quick turnaround/timeline for the repairs to be done)

These guys were helpful and quick.My car broke down on the exit ramp in front of the shop Monday morning and they had me back on the road Monday evening with new tie rod ends. (Alignment service had to be performed elsewhere).My only complaint is that they never called me to tell me what was wrong and quote a price before performing the work so when I called for a diagnostic update and they said they were “almost done,” I was shocked and rushed over. The price seemed reasonable at the end of the day so no complaints as long as the work holds up!

This is the only transmission shop I will use or recommend. Im a do it yourself on most mechanical projects. When it comes to Transmissions and other mechanical problems, this is my go to place. Friendly people, honest, clean and reasonable prices. Its like the good old days where you can actually talk to the team and they talk to you personally!

In 2016 my ‘05 Subaru Outback started squealing the tires when I made a turn, shifting hard, and taking too long to shift. I took it to a Subaru mechanic who told me there is something wrong with the transmission. He pointed to a place nearby & said they were trained in transmissions & to take my car there. He did not say if he recommended this place or not; he knew nothing about them.I told the man at the counter, Brian, what the problem was.  He told me I needed a new transmission because the AWD was “stuck on”. I didn’t know any better so I asked the price of a new transmission and labor. He quoted me over $8,000. I wondered if maybe this was girl prices so I asked my dad to call a few days later. He was quoted just under $7,000. I should have known then to leave this guy alone & find a reputable mechanic, but I tried one more time. I thought maybe because my dad has an accent he might be getting a high price as well. This is because the office of AC Transmission seemed to be highly political with mildly racist memes on the walls. A few days later I asked a male friend to call to get a quote. This time Brian quoted $4,200. I was told this was a steal & to jump at the chance so I asked my friend to take my car in.A few days later my friend told me the car was ready but that I had to pay in cash. When I picked up the car my friend checked under the car and said the transmission looked clean, but he added that they could have just cleaned it. I asked for paperwork on this new transmission & Brian told me that he has to keep all paperwork because of the 10,000 mile warranty. I was also told that he didn’t have a copy machine. When I paid him he added on the new axel he replaced. I had no idea he was going to do that! Luckily my friend had cash on him so we were able to make it out there. During our conversation about the axel Brain made a racist comment about “not hitting anymore coons”.A month later I asked the same friend look @ my car.  I thought it was still shifting hard and it felt like there was no AWD.  He looked at it and said that I needed a new water pump so we might as well have Brian do that & look that transmission too.  I reluctantly agreed. This time when I got my car back I defiantly knew something was wrong. Again, I was asked to pay in cash and I wasn’t given a receipt. That’s when I knew all of this was being done under the table.3 days after getting my water pump and timing belt replaced my car broke down. I looked under the hood and saw the timing belt had come off and ripped through the timing belt cover. I called Brian because this was obviously their fault.  I was told to have my car towed there & they would fix it.  My friend assured me this would be free & they would reimburse the tow bill as well. Well, I got a call the next day saying my (less than 1 year old) harmonic balancer was to blame.  Brian told me that since this was my fault I needed to pay over $400 for the fix.My friend asked to see the old harmonic balancer, he was told that the recycle had picked it up. He was told it was going to be $550 because they did a tune up too.  I never OKed a tune up because I had just done 1 myself the month before.  I had put in a new battery, spark plugs & wires.  My friend, unknowingly, paid the extra money.  I looked under the hood & saw the all the brand new wires and battery had been replaced with old parts!  The battery was over 1 y/o & the wires looked like they had rust all over them.About a month later my car wasn’t doing well at all. The check engine light was on with codes saying I had a misfire on all cylinders. I took it to a Subaru mechanic who took the engine out & said I needed a new 1. He was 100% positive that whoever replaced the timing belt didn’t time it right.As of today I am waiting to get my transmission replaced (again) because the gears are very old & worn down. This seems odd for a new transmission that is barley 2 years old. It’s pretty obvious at this point that Brain & his crew didnt do the work they were paid to do, stole, lied, & I paid them to do it.

Steve was the best! We are on a road trip cross country and our transmission needed some work - we were stranded in Colorado with our RV. He let us park our RV in the back overnight and made quick work of the transmission in the morning. He even custom cut a cable that we needed within a day. He saved our trip and now our RV is running great. THANK YOU STEVE!!!

These guys are honest. I’ve been there four times they checked my tranny twice without charging me. They replaced my tranny and followed up to make sure it was working good. Recently repaired broken motor mounts for me. Great work well continue to go back.

A friend of mine was passing though Colorado on a trip and broke down in Golden. Brians crew at AC Transmission accomplished the repair and got him back on the road in a short time. But by the time he got to Missouri, a problem had developed and he came to me for help. One of the parts that had been installed by AC transmission had failed prematurely, something that happens to all of us despite our efforts to use the best parts and supplies. I have a cargo van that I use mostly now for traveling to various offices we have across the Nation. It is great for that since I can throw a mattress in the back for long trips. We had a transmission put in it almost 3 years ago from a national company and AC Transmission is on the top of thier list for the region for thier warranty work. I know why now. My Ford Escape broke down Friday night & my tow guy Danny with DENVER West Towing recommenced Steve & Brian. We towed it to their shop & I called Monday morning at 7am when they opened. They found the problem that morning ordered the parts and had it fixed Wednesday morning. (it was my fuel pump). My last mechanic did not find the problem when I brought it to him the day before it stalled on I-70 and hwy 6 east bound off ramp at 5:30pm (18 years going to him) I highly recommend AC transmission for all of your automotive repair and maintenance needs!

I had a leak driving cross country that had me stranded. Took it here to determine what the problem was, the guys were awesome enough to let me know what was the issue with my vehicle, referred me to a local shop that could take care of the work and really went the extra mile. Great staff: friendly, knowledgeable, professional and helpful. I highly recommend.

I bought a vehicle from a large dealership. They neglected to tell me the transmission was trashed. AC transmission -Brian and his crew, had me drop my vehicle off. Brian did the facial diagnostic. He told me what he knew was wrong but advised they could find more when completely taken apart. He advised that I contact the dealership. I did. The dealership took no responsibility for the repair, drove it around the dealership to tell me the same thing I told them and said to do a diagnostic it would be $500.00. I called Brian at AC transmission. We made arrangements to drop off my vehicle and one of his crew took me to work and dropped me off. Brian called with bad news. Due to the shape my transmission had been in and I was driving.....one piece of the transmission pushed a piece of metal through another piece. The repair was bigger than either of us planned. Brian understood my daughter was going in for surgery and money was tight. He worked it out with us. And I had my car back in just a couple days! Everyone at the shop was so helpful and informative. I sent my daughter to his shop and her car needed her front Axel bracket replaced. He gave her a great price and had her on the road in no time. I send everyone I know to Brian regardless what is wrong with their car and let Brian tell them if AC transmission can/cannot fix it. I recommend to call them first!!! I am so comfortable with AC transmission I can go there with or without my husband! If I can help it... no matter the issue....I call AC Transmission 1St!! I took my 2013 Ford Explorer down to have a transfer case (PTU) put in and they did an excellent job for my wife and I. Very affordable. We ended up having a leak in the seals after about 12,000 miles and Brian the manager down there got us back in right away and taken care of at no cost to us. No hassle. Great group of guys. Would highly recommend them.

Car trouble on a road trip is bad news, but the guys at AC Transmission were absolutely amazing. They were very HONEST, and helpful. Within a few hours they had us back on the road and were beyond generous with the bill. Several customers were in and out while we were there and all very happy customers. Total rip off. They said my transmission was toast but it still drove and didnt sound bad. Just didnt get out of 1st gear. I said it was probably electrical, they said it needs to be replaced at the tune of $3800. So I took it to another shop and for $200 they replaced a sensor. Works fine. Stay away from AC!

I’m so happy I have a 2003 Dodge Durango just bought a couple weeks ago noticing transmission was shifting oddly brought it to AC transmission they said would take two hours I came back in two hours and they said the transmission oil is fine they made a couple adjustments to the transmission and transmission shifts Butterly smooth the charge for this zero In this day and age when auto shops try to get every penny out of you this is extremely refreshing I expected this to cost about $200. And I’m not done 2 months ago I brought in a 1995 Ford Taurus SHO with an overdrive problem they told me it was a EC you and I replaced it myself for $125 again they charge zero for the diagnostic That just doesn’t happen anymore you bring your vehicle in for a diagnostic it’s gonna be at least 195 at other shops so if you want to be cool bring this to Brian and AC transmission you want to be cool don’t you sorry for the one sentence review but I talk to my phone and this What happens when you talk to your phone go see Brian at AC transmission

Unreliable - (Long Story Short- Had to take legal action) Took my vehicle in for a complete Transmission rebuild in March. Had to take it back in multiple times for various reasons. After the shop refused to acknowledge the problem, turned my check engine light off, lied to my face, and there being a problem with the transmission i couldnt ignore, that also had me broke down on the side of the road nowhere close to home; I took the jeep to another shop. Turns out the internal components failed and again the jeep needs a total trans replacement. The reliable dealership i took it to said AC didnt put new parts in the trans, they either put the cheapest parts in or used parts that were going bad. I understand sometimes these things happen, but to lie to my face probably because Im female, turn my check engine light off when it was pulling transmission fail codes, tell me they put a part in it, then turn around later and said they actually didnt and there was nothing wrong, is unacceptable. Theres more fine details to this story like after everything was fixed the first time, it ended up being almost 1000 dollars more somehow, they keep no record of the work they actually did or parts that they put in it. I was only handed a receipt when i asked for the full report from my vehicle. If you want to know whats being done to your vehicle or want reliable service DO NOT GO HERE. This is backed by the fact everywhere else in town and the dealerships will give you a 3 year warranty and AC only gives you a year of worthless warranty.

Hey all, I wanted to let you know that Brian and the team at AC Transmission located at 15435 W. Colfax Ave Golden is a stand up team of professionals. I had my girlfriends Subaru in last November for a transmission replacement.Over the last year we could feel some hard shifting taking place again and I called Brian. He said no problem bring it back anytime​. So I did, and they also experienced the problem. They took responsibility and rebuilt the transmission in two days and asked for us to bring it back in a 1,000 miles to go through it for a final check.Stands behind their work and wont let you down. Id use them again if any other problems arise with my other vehicles.Joe W.

So I brought my truck in several times for a transmission fix. They attempted to put two separate transmissions together to make one good transmission. Well after the New transmission was purchased due to bot being able to combine the two I was givin the truck back without 4 wheel drive. They broke a bolt off that holds the front driveshaft onto the diff and never told me about it. They simply put small parts in a box and the drive shaft in the back of the truck. When I called them about it they mentioned they forgot to say anything to me about it. I figured it wouldnt be to bad for them to correct the fault. They said they would call me when a new part came in and its been over 2 months now and I still have not received a call back. Well I called them back finally since its been snowing more often now and i use my truck to run my company. They were unable to give me a time frame on how long it would take to get my truck into a bay and determine how long it takes to do the repair.

Ok 2500 for a warning light. Had to put in a rebuilt tyranny. Dies when stepping on brake at lights. It wants to keep accelerating. 2days later it is ready no charge. Yea 1/2 hour back to shop same problem 2 days later it it ready. Lets see if it drives correctly. Wow what a change. Back a week and no problems. Thanks

Horrible shop because of the lack of ability to be honest and tell time. Dropped off the car to be told it would be looked at in the next 2hours. Called back 3hrs later, still hadnt gotten to it. One day later and constantly being lied too, they released the vehicle back saying they took part the exhaust. Went to another shop who took me in there garage to show me nothing had been touch. I I dont recommend the shop.

On 2 Aug 18 I brought my 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo in to AC Transmission repair to have the transmission serviced with new fluid and filter replacement, and any adjustments that were required. When I returned 3 hours later to pick up my Jeep and pay my bill, which Im sure was at least $200, Brian returned my keys and said that there was no charge! He had noticed my ball cap that said U S NAVY, CPO RETIRED when I first came in and he thanked me for my service. We reminisced about military service and I found out that Brian was a 10 year Marine Corps Veteran. I mentioned to him that I had served with the Marines for 3 years at Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni Japan. I tried several times to pay Brian for the transmission service, and he refused each time. Rarely have I ever felt so honored and appreciated as a Military Service Retiree. Great Service, got the bug back on the road

Had a great experience with AC Transmission Center even though they didnt actually do much for my car as far as repairs go. i had a tan 2001 volvo v70xc that was having transmission/torque converter issues that were going to be extremely expensive. dave and larry took a great deal of time to visit with me about the issue and to help me decide if it would be worth sinking potentially $3k into or just salvage the car and put my money toward a newer car. who knows what else could have gone wrong with the car just weeks or months after. they let me keep the car at their shop for several weeks since i live out of state and couldnt easily and economically retrieve the car which was incredibly generous and helpful. money is tight for me right now and they understood and respected that which was very helpful. im always looking for a good mechanic and wont hesitate to use them in the future for any other repair needs. thanks again!
