Was just walking by the store in Golden, CO and everything inside was very organized and clean. We noticed a backpack that was perfect for what we were doing. Logan was EXTREMELY helpful in fitting us for the backpack that was going to be the most useful for our needs. Alec also helped me with my phone. Would recommend Vital Outdoors for anybody that needs anything to be outdoors and we appreciate the patience all the staff showed toward us while we took over hour to decide which backpack was best for us. Came in looking for some new hiking shoes and was very impressed by the amount of useful information that Chris had to help make the decision easy. We also learned quite a bit about hydration packs and ended up with a different brand that had more of the features we were looking for. Features matter and having help identifying them is very useful when there are multiple options.

Ask for Chris if you want expert information on the type of hiking, back packing shoes. He will recommend two tests while you are in the store to make sure the shoes you buy are correct for your feet and needs. Allow some time for an amazing experience!

Great store that has always helped me out especially with shoes. They have a great selection of running shoes, trail running shoes, and rugged casual shoes. So far Ive purchased 2 pairs of shoes her (Altra trail running shoes, and Keen snow boots) and I plan to keep going back.

We stumbled upon this store because they had a 30% off sale. The store overall was great (good selection, well organized, and clean) but what really pushed our experience to 5-stars was the service. Luke was very helpful and knowledgeable. Not only did he help us try on endless pairs of boots without a single hint of complaint, he also recommended a local taphouse for us to try out (Trailhead, which we did try and it was amazing!).

The staff here is super easy going and helpful when finding new shoes. They also have a nice program where they will order in shoes is sizes that are out of stock, without any commitment from you.

My go to clothing/boot store as a goldenite. There is usually always a sale or some sort of discounted item you probably want. Clothing, footwear, hats, and everything outdoor related. Wish they had some fishing gear but I can see why they dont . If youre in town, def stop in for that impulsive raincoat purchase when the Golden skies turn grey. Staff is always superbly helpful and friendly.

Just stopped in to the store durring a walk around town to check out a pair of hiking shoes/boots as Im new to Colorado, and looking to start indulging in the great outdoors! As I spent several minutes staring at different options lying to myself that I knew what I was looking for, I was consulted by Chris as he was just finishing up with another customer.I told Chris Im from New York and totally new to any serious outdoor sporting, so Im looking to at least start with a great shoe that can get me going for a while but at a reasonable price for a rookie like me.I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!I dont think Ive ever been so educated on a product I thought was generally simple.He explained everything from the differences in quality, build, and fabric from one option to the next, to breaking down particular scenarios where one minor alteration will give me a major advantage.Long story short...We ultimately came down to the right shoe at a price I was willing to reason with.I honestly dont feel theres any reason to vist another store considering my experience here. Theyre very attentive, extremely knowledgeable, but make you feel very comfortable with your decision.I will absolutely be back.
