Doing business with PitStop has been frictionless from day one. Coming from getting oil deliveries and having to schedule them manually, PitStop makes getting our liquid propane deliveries simple by learning our usage patterns and automatically coming out and filling our tanks with no intervention needed on our part. Paired with being able to do auto-pay online, I never have to worry about whether well have enough fuel to heat our home.Ive also been able to talk directly with one of the employees - Levi - who came out to inspect our tank installation after we had a generator installed that also runs off of the propane. He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and took the time to explain what he was looking for and go over safety instructions with me to ensure that we knew what to look out for. This is just great customer service, and I would recommend PitStop to anyone looking for a reliable and responsive fuel company.

Very good customer service. I am on a budget plan with them which works out well. I call when I need a delivery and they usually deliver before the delivery date. I have had no problems with this company and have been doing business with them for the last couple of years.

The service rep who came out to do a safety inspection was fantastic, giving us advise and walking us through what he was looking for. PitStop has had some ups and downs over the last few years - I think we all remember how long it took to get a fuel delivery during the coldest stretch of winter a couple years back. BUT that is in the past. The last two years with PitStop have been great. The prices are reasonable - typically lower than everyone else - and the pre-buy program is excellent. Customer service is always pleasant and now that Im on auto-delivery there are never any worries about running out of fuel.Im giving PitStop five stars because I think they have worked very hard to make up for the crummy service of years past and I can only say positive things about my experience with them in the last 2-3 years.

Pitstop fuels gave me the best pricing and service for years. Then a couple years ago the ownership changed. Service was very poor and pricing went up, it was pretty bad. Last year the original ownership took over and almost overnight the service quality was once again fantastic! These guys are the absolute best in the business.

Stopped using them in 1/18 in a -20F cold snap when they couldnt deliver oil. Had to buy 5 gallons of off-road diesel at a gas station every day to keep my house warm. I have been a customer of Pitstop fuels since 2015. I purchased my home and there was an exiting old 500 gallon propane tank with a different company. I tried working with the company that had the existing tank but they were unresponsive to my needs after several attempts, so, I called pit stop and they came right out, evaluated my energy needs, moved the old tank out of the way and set a new 250 gallon tank as I requested. The service guys were knowledgeable and had the parts needed on hand for the job. Since then I have been on auto delivery and always kept filled up. When my usage increased I called to have them come fill my tank early and they showed up a day or two later with no hassle.I do feel that the fuel pricing could be slightly more competitive which is the reason for 4 out of 5 stars.

These guys were great at the start. I immediately applied for automatic fill. 2016 Super Bowl I ran out of propane while skiing. They made an emergency call, just before the party. PSF said they never received my email application. Turns out, nobody was monitoring the email that was on the PDF file of the application. 😕I shovel for PSF every storm. They choose to use the shortest route etc. Which is fine if there’s no snow. But I believe that PSF should leave no trace other than the fill slip. I have had damaged ceramic garden pots, marked siding, and loose pea stone on the driveway each time they deliver. I’ve called, sent notes with punctual payments. It’s never improved, it’s inconsiderate, and unprofessional.

Pitstop has a history, at least in my neighborhood, of being late or otherwise unreliable, and recently, has been neglecting to leave invoices for the propane thats been delivered. Despite fuel prices trending downward, the price for LP has not decreased from Pitstop. I cant speak to how competitive fuel providers operate, but from my experience, Pitstop has been far less than adequate, and I would not recommend them as your provider.

I’ve been using Pitstop fuels (Lampron Energy) for 25+ Years. Before that I shopped around to get the lowest price at the time and watched the trending prices per barrel in the stock markets. I waited as long as I could without running out of heating oil to buy cheap or fill early before prices trended higher.Eventually, I got tired of playing that game of gambling price & delivery options when I’d end up paying more for waiting or lugging 5 gallon jugs when I ran out to fast in a cold snap. Customers everywhere that are on automatic fill or under contract get their fuels first. There have been shortages of fuels and propane over the past several years where households ran out while waiting and comparing prices and running low on fuel. Remember, the delivery drivers and those drivers that deliver to the Energy Companies from the ports are in high demand in the marketplace. There’s been a driver shortage in the United States for several years now and it’s only getting worse.Pitstop & Lamprons have always given me excellent and friendly customer service. I choose to be on an automatic fill program in order to have the security of getting Fuel when I need it, if I feel nervous about prices going up then I call them and have them fill my tank earlier than their fill schedule for me (as long as I have room for at least 100 gallons).Yes, sometimes they are a few cents more than others but sometimes they are less. I sacrifice that game for peace of mind knowing I won’t run out ( I forget to check the level in the tank) and I won’t have to wait when there’s a shortage. Plus, being in a program with them I can quickly get a technician to come If I have a problem with my furnace. A really really nice thing about them is that they won’t run your tank real low before delivery so the cost of the fill won’t be horrendously expensive getting 125-150 gallons at a time in comparison to 200-225 gallons.Four years ago I changed my propane provider over to Pitstop. I have a gas kitchen stove. I got sick of paying for tank rentals every 6 months on the tanks that have been here for over 20 years and way past their usage date ( the old tall skinny tanks). I was paying more on the rentals than I was paying for the propane I used. Pitstop installed a new fat tank and they don’t charge a rental fee for it !I know everyone can’t be happy all the time. But, I’m very happy with the services Pitstop has provided me over the years both in customer service and as my fuels provider. Over the many years, my extended family has changed over to Pitstop one by one. It works for my family but we are all local.As a Side note, I’m soooo happy Pitstop has a car wash in Standish now !

7 years on automatic fill and this is the third time I’ve run out of oil. Answering service at 8am said I’m scheduled for Wednesday which doesn’t help when I have less than 1/8th this morning and no other heat source.

Customer for years. Went to order propane today, and was told that my delivery date would be TWO WEEKS from today!!!!! Never have I been given such long lead times for propane. I was told to call when my tanks are at 40%. If my tank is at 40%, then the minimum order of 100 gal is more than it can hold!! They have been good to me in the past, but the reliability has gone downhill FAST. Pitstop needs to get its act together. There are plenty of energy providers in the area more than willing to take my cash.

Weve been costumers for years, this business used to be 5 stars easy, now I wouldnt even give them 1. Too long of a wait on delivery (2-3 WEEKS in dead of winter) and if you need it before; expect a $250 fee attached. Non responsive customer service with errors (example: one check didnt make it to the office, and another time got an invoice demanding payment that was late for $0). We stuck with them through their incredibly rough transition last year, but are done after this winter, switching to another company with customer service and who can manage their business in a timely manor.

Ive been a customer for nearly 10 years. Sure people have had issues in the winter, but come on, we live in Maine. Even since the sale, Ive had no issues. Place a propane order and they always show up on the promised date. Staff is always friendly when I call in.

If you had asked me to do this review last year I would give 5-stars. Drivers would always have nice vehicles and are courteous and efficient. Used to call or place online, they would price match no problem and would have fuel next day. Ever since the new ownership took over this has turned terrible. Cannot get anyone on the phone. Cannot access online portal to order more fuel that way. No one responds to emails. It is like pulling teeth to give them an order. I know everyone is very busy this time of year, but the lack of communication and availability is astounding. . .

Ive had two check payments mysteriously no show causing me to put stop payments on them without being credited for the fee. Its the only place i have issues with checks. Delivery isnt terrible, usually three or four days when it isnt terribly cold. If it is cold I expect a long wait.

I have been a customer of Pit stop Fuels for 6 years. I ordered fuel online back on 1/3 and received an auto email indicating that I would get delivery on or by 1/15. I have been trying to get in touch with them since I only have 1/4 tank and the phones are either busy or they just dont answer. I called after hours and spoke to the answering service but never received a call from Pit Stop as I requested. Just a quick call is all I asked for. Not only that but on Jan 3rd they put a hold on my credit card for $699 and yet they dont plan on delivering till 12 days later or whenever! Really! Insane! Extremely poor customer service! Will not be doing business here for very long.I realize they are busy, they have time to put a hold on my credit card but not to give me a quick call? I have had to make several trips to get kerosene to put in my tank so I dont run out of fuel.

Waited weeks to get oil last year. Got on auto delivery this year. At an eighth of a tank now. For sure leaving this company. Oh by the way Google oil prices in Maine. Why are they always 5-15 cents more per gallon? Definitely not for customer service thats for sure.

I cant say enough-my mom was very low on oil-I tried calling higgens (her usual oil comp) but they never called back-after many calls.then I tried Irvin- but they wanted to run a credit check first and then come out to inspect the tank could deliver. before they could deliver.I am thinkinking OMG I just want to have 100 gallons delivered to moms house-why is this so complicated. I finally called Pitstop -A live person answered the phone- Gave them my CC info and they delivered the next day. What more can I say but thank you.

Been using Pit Stop since 2011 for our home oil and propane and they are a great company. The customer service is great and they are always there when they say they will be. And I always find they have some of the best if not the best rates around. I would recommend to anyone.

When I finally received my oil the truck or driver dropped a big puddle of #2 on my driveway. I shoveled up as much as I could right after the truck left with a little snow on the driveway but most went quickly down to the asphalt. When I paid my bill I put a note on the check but didnt hear back. Ive been an oil and propane customer for many years and they were great in the past but not since ownership changed.

They consistently book 2-3 weeks out for delivery and now are one of the more expensive places for oil in Maine! A much different company then what they were a few years ago! From cheaper and great service to now the most expensive and worst service... take my advice you can do a lot better dealing with any other oil company!

Tried to place an order through their answering service, and I could not even receive a confirmation call/delivery estimate within that same day. Yet, when I called the next day to cancel my pending order, they were able to call me back to confirm that within 20 minutes. Horrible service, high prices, longest wait time!

I said, no, sorry thats too long, they said, well if you need fuel, fill up containers at the gas station with off road diesel.No thanks, going to Dead River, they will deliver within a week.

Pit stop purchased our former propane dealer and couldnt be any more of a negative change. Terrible customer service! We ordered fuel today and were told it would be 8 days before delivery unless we prepaid and no guarantee but it may be possible for an earlier delivery I highly advise looking for a different company

Do not use these crooks! They took our money and did not deliver our fuel or call us. They will not answer their phone either. I know multiple people that they have stolen from over the last few weeks. Contacting authorities today.

I want to start by saying Im not one to write reviews or complain about companies in general. However, Pit Stop definitely earned a poor review and some! For all of you that have been loyal customers of Pit Stop or are considering becoming a Pit Stop Customer because they generally undercut the competition by 2-3 pennies per gallon, they are not worth your time or support. I am guilty of this for the past 8+ years to save 2-3 cents per gallon or a couple bucks per 100 gallons. This company, Pit Stop, left our family and several others high and dry in dangerously cold conditions. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and simply wrote it off for the first week that they were just overwhelmed by the abundance of people calling in due to the sub zero temps for 15 days straight. We sucked it up and lugged K1 and Diesel for 2 weeks. The big issue is we were promised a delivery date by Friday the 5th after waiting for Pit Stop to show for 11 Days!! After that we really started to worry that we would never see Pit Stop. Rumors were stirring and people were standing in line for hours in front of Pit Stop in desperation. No other oil companies would take us and would only take care of their repeat customers. Pit Stop would not answer their phones or return emails for Weeks! No updates, no apologies, no calls! Bad business! Poor Business! Beware!

Great bunch of people here. I talk to a few of the employees on a regular basis but there are always a couple of bad actors. Dont let it keep you from going in, though. Its always a good experience overall.

Same here - ordered AND PAID via web on 1/3. Today is 1/11. After they charged my card, the receipt said 1/15 delivery. There was no indication about delayed delivery on their web site prior to that. I have gone up there twice to try and get information about whether 1/15 is a hard delivery date. They are evasive and dont directly answer your questions about delivery. Yesterday I went up there and the 2 people in front of me - one auto fill and one will call customer - had not had a delivery when promised. That told me all I needed to know. Absolutely no confidence in their ability to deliver. I just need to know so I can plan accordingly. This is the worst customer service. Indicates big problems on the management side. These new owners have no idea how to treat customers, or run a business. They are clueless. Will be going elsewhere. Cant trust an outfit like this.

Can process payments faster than anyone, but as for getting your order delivered........prepare to wait, and wait, and wait some more. We paid for our order Thursday of last week and it is Tuesday night.....still nothing. As for customer service, good luck!! They close very promptly at 4 pm and the answering service is worthless. Was rude to my wife and told they will call tomorrow ( Wednesday). Still with no oil and just wondering if anyone is interested in helping.

I HAD been a customer of Pitstop for over 10 years and they always matched the lowest fuel price in my area. I stayed with them even through the horrible cold snap when they were in the news and not delivering to their customers last year. I found out today that they will not match prices but they will give me 5 cents off their inflated price, which is 10 cents over other local prices. I guess so much for loyalty. I will now take my business elsewhere.

(installed new oil tank someone needs to be home for first fill ).....Back when Dana owned pitstop it was five stars new owners not so much customer service has gone down the drain. Been a customer from the beginning spending thousands of dollars a year between oil and propane. Tried to schedule a time for oil delivery pitstop does not do scheduled deliveries cant even give you a rough idea but did say they would call before the delivery so someone could be there I was told I would receive a phone call prior to delivery so my wife or I could leave work and be there when the delivery was made. Well you guessed it no phone call my wife was heading to work happen to see the pit stop fuel truck heading down route 25 got a hunch that it was going to our house she turned around and low and behold he was pulling into the driveway. While the professionally installed tank had no issues just imagine if there was a bad weld on the tank the damage 208 gallons of oil would do to my finished downstairs and to the environment would be very costly and little bit reckless. In my opinion communication between office and driver is not so good. so not only do you get bad service pitstop fuels prices have not been good and they will not match competitor prices anymore so this customer is going to there competitor.

I have been a customer for several years and I have always received exceptional customer service from Pit Stop Fuels. The staff are helpful and go above and beyond. I messed up my web order today (my fault, not theirs) and a quick phone call later, its all sorted and I have a delivery coming tomorrow. Once before, they were strapped for drivers, who were working long hours to deliver fuel to all their customers, and could not guarantee a timely delivery - yet they STILL delivered several days before the scheduled date. We had just switched to Pit Stop in 2010, and a few weeks later, my husband passed away. Fuel was not the last thing I thought of; I didnt consider it at all. About 4 pm on Christmas Eve, I came home to a cold house and an empty oil tank, and yes, a driver agreed to deliver oil to me before he went home for the night. Pit Stop is the best.

I have been a Pitstop customer for ten years. They have not responded to my order and wont answer their phones or email. I am so mad as I am running out of oil and propane. Luckily I have found another company to take me. I will NEVER do business with Pit stop again, I would not even use them if they where 50% cheaper! I will not understand anyone who stays with them after this winter.

I have been a customer for 14 years and the past year and a half, they have been a huge disappointment. Last year they went silent during the coldest weeks in January leaving everyone scrambling for solutions. Rinaldi Energy took care of us, no issues. I received no apologies from Pit Stop, but decided I would give them a second chance. Went to order fuel today, got pushed to an answering service, and when I was called back over an hour later was told almost 2 weeks for delivery? Unacceptable. Called Rinaldi, they answered immediately and will be delivering next day. And 15 cents less per gallon to boot. It’s a shame, but I will be moving on after 14 years of loyalty.

Up until the cold snap I had no problems. I ordered fuel over a week ago. They took the money out of my account within minutes and I still have not received my oil. Luckily, I ordered fuel from another company as a back up but I want the fuel I payed for. I have called and called to see when I can expect my delivery date because they missed it. If the line isnt busy....I get through and then booted off. I heard Pit Stop was bought out recently. Can you say off to a horrible start? I am contemplating making a change to a different company.

Very frustrated customer. Im one of the unlucky people who ordered fuel during the perfect storm and feel like Ive been lost in the craziness. I requested fuel almost 2 weeks ago and I have heard nothing from them. I followed instructions by sending an email and got no response. I left a message with the answering service last week, no response. Ive called again hoping this follow up will get a response, but Im not particularly hopeful.

Cornelia is the best! Professional, efficient & friendly. Great service. Why would I want to buy anywhere else?
