My first time dining here. My wife and daughter tried them a couple of weeks ago and recommended I give them a try.It is quite a drive for us as we live in a different county (1+ hour round trip) so my expectations were high.Even with the lack of a parking lot, there was ample street parking available.We were seated within 2-3 minutes after entering. Our server was prompt providing us with menus and drink orders.Once our order was placed, it was a relatively short wait for our meals. We passed on dessert as we were all full. They do offer a wide variety of pies. Ice cream is also available.The interior decor is charming and really captures the chronological history of Goshen and Americana in general.The food and service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant and gives one a tinge of nostalgia of a more innocent age of days gone by, now eroded by the passing of time that comes with growing older.A must try.P.S. Good food, fun diner experience. I need to go back to do a full review.The Italian sandwich was good. Shoestring fries were really small, but tasty.Great diner vibe.Pies look amazing. Im trying to lose the COVID gut, so I didnt imbibe.Their hours are a little funky, definitely pay attention to that.Parking is the toughest part. All neighborhood street parking.Looks like not a lot of room for large parties.
Quaint. Food was good, though the pies looked outstanding our group didnt partake - we shouldve had dessert only

Good food. Reasonable prices. Plenty of choices on their menu! The staff is very friendly. Great themed restaurant. Make sure you check ahead for their times, as they are limited. And save room for dessert!
I love South side soda shop! I have been with friends and family. The food and service has always been great. Depending on what you get you can expect to pay 10 to around 20 dollars, with other options under 10 if you want.. If you like root beer floats then ordering one here is a must. While it may be abit more then youd expect to pay for a root beer float it is 100% worth it. I have and will continue to go to the south side soda shop!

Nick, the owner is so friendly and takes pride in his art of making food. You do not leave the place still hungry. Philly cheesesteak was phenomenal . The Snapping Turtle soup was Amazing ! The inside of the Diner takes you back in time. Great place to visit for all ages . Thanks Kate at Shirleys Gourmet Popcorn for the recommendation for dinner !

Well..I went with girls day out yesterday!We had a blast!Our waiter was great!Cause we were all hungry andSilly. Food was great!I mean GREATIm on my way right now with my sweetie..I know hes gonna be surprizedSsilly
Had been here a few years ago and it was great so we went back. Had the Philly cheesesteak and curly fries and although the favor was good, the portion was severely lacking. The meat was about 1½ inches from each end of the bun and very little in the middle. The fries were good though. Small diner, parking on side streets, indoor and outdoor dining - service was fast and friendly.
Drove out to Goshen from South Bend, and before heading back, I wanted some good food. Arrived 5:40 at this diner and it was closed despite times saying otherwise. Kinda annoying considering I drove way out of my way.
Great service from our waitress, good atmosphere as well. Food tasted plain as day though. Anyways they have green rivers and other good deserts. (Dont recommend the regular food if you want flavor)
Love to stop here for lunch or dinner. Reminds me of spending time with my grandparents with old fashioned sodas, green rivers and good memories!
Love the decor. Real 50s style diner with some great Americana on the walls and what not. Food was quick but nothing special. Under cooked fries and out of a jar coleslaw. For the price it delivered on what I expected. No cheese wiz on the cheese steak so most Philly people probably wont call it authentic but it was still delicious.

Nostalgic diner near downtown Goshen. Tasty sandwiches, old-fashioned thick milkshakes, phosphate drinks and the best pie ever!!
Staff was great and the food was too. We traveled off the highway to try it out and werent disappointed.

The south side is a great place to go if you like an old school classic atmosphere. The food here tastes amazing. Comes to you piping-hot and fresh. I had a BLT, curly fries, and chili. I can tell you that Im not a big fan of chili. But, after trying their chili I have to go back for seconds. 😋👍My biggest problem is parking. Very limited parking around the building.
Really excited to eat here. Came lunch on a busy Saturday. Food wasnt anything special and was very disappointed how mediocre everything was.

Guy Fieri from Triple-D is absolutely correct, the South Side Soda Shop has a Philly Cheese Steak that is a good as you can get in Philly. Buns are flown in daily from Philly. Meat is great and you can get Cheese Wiz on it. Their phosphate sodas go straight back to the 50s. If you want do wade into the deep end, get a float made with your favorite phosphate soda. And if youve saved room have a piece of their Coconut Cream pie, its to die for. The decor will remind you of a good old soda shop.
Long time favorite. I usually get the turkey Philly and it absolutely never disappoints!

Had BLT SPECIAL, it was good. Over all two sandwiches, tea, mug of chili and two slices of pie for $32.50 little to much for lunch. Not sure why BLT on menu was about half the price.

My little grandchildren had a great time here! And the experience will be memorable for us. My 7 year old grandson stated I really like this place ! I know they liked all the choices they had for drinks they had never tried before. And their kids meals had a choice of any of their fabulous ice creams 😉

Best “small” spinach salad ever! So delicious and just the right size to go with my turkey club sandwich, which was SO good! Nicely separated dining spots, very clean. Nice supper spot on our COVID vaccine trip!
Food was just ok. The Fruit crisp pie was expensive and not good at all. The key to a good pie is the crust. The filling was good, however, the bottom and top crust were undercooked and somewhat raw. Inedible
This is a great place for a quick bite .Sandwich choices are outstanding and plentiful. Prices are a bit higher but its worth every penny. After your meal try some pie or ice cream or both its all good. You can take one of their great pies home too.Nice nostalgic atmosphere.

South Side Soda Shop is a staple of Goshen. Its got good vibes, good food, and good staff. This is one of my favorite places to take visitors to Goshen. There food selection is fantastic AND they have amazing soda (obviously). Free refills on said sodas too! I would reccomended this place to just about anyone. Worth checking out!

Very Good Food, prices are higher since Covid. They never serve Hot coffee. For 20 years Ive been going there I always have to ask them to heat my coffee.

One of my favorite places! They have diverse offerings, so its easy to please everyones palette. Its also an excellent value for the portions. I love that its run by multiple generations of the same family.

Growing up in Goshen, visiting SSSS takes me back to my childhood. But I cant (shouldnt) eat as much. I recommend start with the pie. Skip the fries.

Lots of fun! Old-time atmosphere - it looks like a converted RR car. Delicious food, surprisingly wide selection, reasonable prices. The pies are to die for. Ill be back, bringing my wife.
This place is just “alright” to me, nothing to hoot or holler about! I ordered a phillie cheesesteak and it barely had any meat in it or veggies, I had to look inside to see if anything was in there, felt like I was eating bread alone! I didn’t even want to take a picture of that poor sandwich. Ummm ummm yeah, I did want to eat a pasta dish that had crab in it, it was somewhat pricey, I asked the waitress was it real crab and she said “NO!” So I was like, “hmmmm” but they put out a sign each day advertising their fresh catch of the day or whatever, and the crab isn’t real crab meat, but they charging you like it’s real! I also noticed a few things on the menu are overpriced for the quantity of food they give out, so this place isn’t somewhere I’ll recommend for several reasons. The pie is good, but once again overpriced. I paid $7 for a slice of pie a-la-mode. My crust was hard and slightly burnt! So this was my last trip here! No wonder I never seen the re-runs on Food Network of this Restaurant!
