There was a cashier that was doin a good job but she also got overwhelmed after times and had to reissue change. It was busy, things happen.

The customer service was amazing, it was quick, very polite and very helpful from the beginning.

The employees are very friendly. Be ready to wait in lines though. The staff not only checks at registers, but they have to gather carts, unbox product and stock the shelves. Be kind, they work hard and this is the corporate approach to keeping prices low. The store is older but clean and most items are in their correct place and prices are easy to see. Parking lot is full of pot holes so drive carefully. Not the fault of employees. Overall the best and most convenient discount store in the area. Beats battling the Walmart crowd if your just out to grab a few essentials (basic food items, pop, milk, juices etc). Good selection of snacks, treats, paper products, cleaning and pet supplies, over the counter medicines, school supplies, cheap toys, pet supplies, and personal care items. Again, super friendly staff that are always working really hard.

This store has been cleaned up and organized. No longer looks like cheap shopping store. Seem to be carrying more diverse merchandise and better organized. Like the $5.00 off coupon on sales receipt and have used it many times. Best place to check for Sale on Coke products.

Dollar generals are different! Some are well stocked while others; not so! Some have courteous help while others, not so. Some are kept tidy

Very busy and there were 3 people working and the one lady ran back and forth between doing her to do list (I assume) and cashier, like ran. I give them 3 stars for thier go get em attitudes but they lost 2 cause the store was in a state of disorder. Displays not up properly, POP materials and other time sensitive marketing posters are out of date or just look like they are, floors need to be striped and rebuffed with a buffer and good HD wax coating it lasts longer then what u using., and Noone was watching the customers. If you take anything away from this watch the customers cause they are the reason you are in business but they are also the fakes that are stealing from you. I hypothetically could have or seen all sorts of stuff walk outta your store.( Hypothetical) Noone seemed to concerned even when someone walked in and out of the back door that was propped open. I am sure thats completely up to SOP. I have security background along with district manager and store manager and an employee. Now while my experience is not at dollar general I know you dont do these things. It is not good business. Im sorry fort the Review but I put it down the way I see it. But to end with a positive the lady that was running was wore out but still very polite all be it loud as hell but very polite.

Good prices, various items that are always changing

For years I was very hesitant about going to any kind of dollar store! I was mostly concerned about cleanliness and expired dates. But my husband and I went in one day to look around and explore. Couldnt believe how many different items they carried, and they all had great expiration dates. There employees are wonderful and knowledgeable when it comes to knowing where their products are to be located. Christmas Eve day I was there and I was checking out and I told the young male cashier that it would be nice if they carried eggs. He told me they do, and before I knew it he was flying to the cold case that held the eggs. He yelled and asked how many dozens I wanted, I told him two. He flew to the register, I paid for them and left. Ive got to say that Im very impressed with the products they carry both their brand and the name brand products. I will go to Dollar General before going to the big stores, primarily because of the price differences and cleanliness. You cant beat Dollar Generals prices, so much cheaper than the big stores. Ive shopped at Dollar General over and over, and over again, and will continue until the day I die! I love you Dollar General.

Like many a dollar store you can get what you need and sanve money. They had a sale on canned vegetables. Thats the only reason I went. The selection was basic not fancy,just what I wanted. I urge anyone looking to save dont forget to check their adds.

Busy with long lines . Need more than one cashier with 5 or six people waiting.

Stopped in on my way Home to st Paul for a cheap snack. (Sweet tooth). Was pretty fast. Cashier was great! Friendly. The only issue I had was one of the employees was stocking not in uniform no name tag. She walked right In front of me no excuse me or greeting. Nothing. Not even a simple smile. Ive worked with customer service for over 10 years just seemed like I was in her way.

Nice big parking lot .. was able to bobtail in with no issues, they werent out of what I needed .. nice employees.....saw 1 customer not masked up and they were given one ... Thankfully the customer didnt go all Karen on her ... But please guys and gals ... Wear your mask and dont give employees grief over the mask policy .. theyre following rules and also dont want the bug and pass it to their families ... 😎

Item was advertised as 2 for $3. I had 6 bottles should have rang up $9 but charged me $10.50. and the cashier could not fix the price on my receipt, so I told them that was false advertisement and that they could keep my whole basket of about $30.THIS IS NOT THE FRIST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AT THE GRAND ISLAND STORE.WILL NOT BE BACK.

Its ok. They need a better selection. Seems like you always have to wait for a cashier to appear

I was greeted by a friendly employee as i entered the store. The store was clean. Products were in good supply and neatly shelved. Check out was efficient and employee asked if I had found everything.

Loyal shopper here. Dollar General is under thanked! This business is very family oriented. Constant sales. Coupons available. Customer service isnt behind a separate counter. Each employee handles customer relations well - in my experiences. Very happy customer.

Help was rude. Boxs in isle. Out of some sale product. No. Access to restroom. Very busy and only one person checking.

Takes forever for the shelves to be restocked, there is always something in the aisle to navigate around, they do not stock or restock ad items, and the employees have been generally unhelpful

,* prices here are no where NEAR aAA2+ dollar. Wa-mart carries just about everything the Dollar General does and for A LOT LESS. Bought a butane lighter from there just a few days ago. Almost 5 bucks for this thing and its complete garbage. Its only getting the one star because it requires at least that. Best part of my experience? Cashier was super nice and helpful

Need to have better customer Service

They need to have more workers or something because there are were 8 of us in line and nobody jumped on a register to help us. The other lady was right there looking at us and even walked behind the counter and didnt even acknowledge us ... I think if she said something to us we wouldnt have been so upset but she made eye contact with us and said nothing

No matter what I need to purchase I perfer stopping here first. The cashier is just the best. Shes so great and shes what really influences my desicion on where to go.

Its usually busy there, but their cashiers are very sweet. I know when i go in there ill probably have to wait a minute or 2 to checkout. Its all good!

Shelves are always empty. I have to drive to a Dollar General in a surrounding community to get what I need. The store in Kearney is GREAT and the one in Hastings is usually well stocked! Im disappointed in the Grand Island store and would shop there more often if they could keep those shelves stocked.

The staff was frighteningly bad, arrogant, and seemed to prefer not to have repeat business. I was actually yelled at by a staff member for inquiring if there was a restroom available!

It was clean and a friendly atmosphere.

Says open 24 hours and I used the last of my gas driving there and it wasnt even open. Now I cant get back there once it is open. Why claim to be open 24 hours if your not thanks a lot for nothing

Went to Grand Island store because Aurora Dollar General has been out of Orange (24ct) Goodies for over a month!!! I was just disgusted with Aurora Dollar General not having restocked supplies and was disappointed when I got to Grand Island Dollar General too. No Orange 24 ct Goodies!

The store was a mess, looks like it belongs in downtown detroit. Wires hanging from the ceiling, years of dirt around the heating system. But other then it looks like it needs to be condemned they did have plenty of stock even tho they have gotten pricey.

It was good. Not to busy.
