We use Gerrits appliances for our apartment complex in allendale. I have to say, i am nothing but impressed with their service. They go above and beyond to make everything as simple as possible, even with larger accounts such as ours. Thanks for your constant above and beyond level of work and customer care (especially you Bruce)! I would highly recommend Gerrits appliance to anyone and everyone in need of appliance replacements or service.

We had 4 appliances delivered and to remove the old ones and get the new ones in was a distinct challenge as we have a 70s home with hard corners. The delivery & installation team of Jeff, Ty, & Jake removed what they had to to provide enough space to get everything out and in. Their expertise was excellent and they then installed the range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave. They made sure everything worked and was installed properly in a very professional manner. I received not only excellent service in choosing the appliances but I was greatly impressed by the installers. Thank you all!

Its so nice to get actual help from an appliance store. They have a wide range of options and have never been crowded when weve been in, so theres always someone to help you. Bonus, they also didnt make me feel bad for having my two young kids with me. My husband and I were shopping on a Saturday morning with our two tiny humans who were not exactly cooperating and no one made us feel like we should come back later without them.

We purchased all new appliance for our remodeled kitchen at Gerrits Appliance and our experience was first rate. Ben Geers was wonderful to work with; knowledgeable, very comfortable to work with, listened and found what we wanted, very prompt returning emails or calls (often outside of store hours) and followed up each step of the process and after delivery. The delivery was on time and set up done most professional. We would highly recommend Ben at Gerrits Appliance.

My wife and I were looking for a new washer and dryer, as our washer of over 18 years old was too expensive to fix. We decided to shop at Gerritts appliance, as we know they have been a family business for over 70 years and a model business in our Grand Rapids community. We went on a Saturday afternoon and had the pleasure of working with Ben Geers, a fourth generation Gerritts man. Ben helped us navigate through many brands of washers. He was calm, cool and collected through the many questions my wife had for him about washers and dryers. He was very honest and gave us his true opinion on what he would consider as a consumer. He didnt try to get us to buy a more pricey model just to get a good sale. After we made the purchase, we had to wait almost 2 weeks before we could get delivery. We told them to put us on their cancellation list. I got a call the following Tuesday from Ben letting us know they did have a cancellation. We had to do some rearranging of schedules but we did and Ben and his crew of Tyler and Levi made this happen. My wife met them at the house and they did an excellent install job for us--clean, neat and didnt leave a mess for us. I would highly recommend you go to Gerritts Appliance and let them help you with your specific needs. We plan to go back there for some kitchen appliances in the near future.Joe and Lisa E.

We are building a house and there were several packages of appliances we could choose from Gerrits. We found one of the premium packages to be perfect for us and we went to Gerrits to look at the appliances. The girl working at the front desk this night was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. We are looking forward to working with them and purchase our appliances through them.

Your team came through and removed a leaking dishwasher, helped us order a new replacement, kept it on hold in your warehouse at sale price, and patiently waited with us through our kitchen hardwood flooring redo! Jeff had our new unit installed professionally and without harm to our new floors, within 20 minutes and with an ontime delivery confirmation! 9 weeks from start to finish and no billing for services until delivery date! Awesome local service and loyalty!

Your experience depends on the salesperson you get. There is one saleswomen there in particular who is rather short, abrupt and argumentative. Hope you dont get her. Everyone else I have dealt with there is nice and willing to spend as much time with me and my questions as I would like.Service department staff is very helpful and willing to help even if you are a do it yourself-er. Although the last time I called they said they would not work on GE because GE wont let them. Even though they were aware this particular appliance I called on was out of warranty. So why wouldnt they repair it?Then there is the prepaid debit card rebate scam. It is really a credit card with a $ amount credit on it. Three phone calls and an hour of my time later I managed to get the card canceled. I can get a $200 credit on other credit cards just for opening an account. Also the number of credit cards you have effects your credit report number.They are good to deal with just not exceptional.

It is hard to get anyone to help you. I was in the 29th street store a few times scoping things out. I called at 11a and left a message for them to call me back but they didnt. Delivery of my stove was great. The guys were very friendly, careful and professional.

On recommendation from the repairman for our previous Maytag dishwasher that died one month out of warranty, we bought a Bosch dishwasher from Gerrits and it performs exceptionally well. It has a stainless steel interior and quality components. Everything comes out very clean and it is whisper quite. They are initially expensive, but save in labor and parts over time. We learned it is worth the investment.

I love l, love supporting local companies! I go out if my way to do so. I used to love Gerrit’s, but no longer feel that way. I ordered a dishwasher and refrigerator on December 26. I have a smaller dishwasher. I brought measurements, serial and model numbers. The sales guy said the dishwasher I wanted would 100%work: I had him triple check. Two weeks later upon the arrivalOf the dishwasher. It did not fit. On to the refrigerator. The wrong one was delivered. They installed the wrong refrigerator. I ordered side by side. Delivered is bottom drawer freezer. Then there were no handles. I got passed around to solve my issue. I begged to get handles delivered when the 2nd dishwasher came in. It was a good call because the handles they had delivered were for the Electrolux I originally purchased. What I have now (again not the one ordered) is a Frigidaire gallery. We wanted the side by side Electrolux because we use a ton of ice. So now the fridge that I’m stuck with not only has a smallIce compartment. If did not work. So February 19th a guy came to put in a new Ice maker, in the new freezer I did not buy. There has been no follow up. I had to constantly call, follow up. I worked with an owner, two sales people and I think a manager. They made me feel like I was annoying. I was very nice. Not to mention the appointments I had to cancel to wait for things to get fixed. They never offered a different refrigerator, compensation or different solution. I’m going to re do my kitchen soon. I’ll be using Bekin’s.

Outside of the knowledgeable salesperson on the floor and a chance interaction with the owner who suggested that, if I could, bump out the wall into our garage to accommodate a full-sized refrigerator in our soon-to-be remodeled kitchen, not much else went well. The service, delivery, and promises were very sub-par. The two kids who delivered the appliances the first time (it took two because our refrigerator drawers were sold to someone else and our oven hood was no longer available) scratched and damaged our newly installed cement counter so badly that it had to be replaced. An offer by me to give them a chance to show me some true customer service by showing a courtesy by forgiving the charge for their woefully sub-par delivery service, I was rebuffed. Oh. And they damaged my new range to the point that a new panel had to be ordered, a piece I put in myself. Sorry for the long rant but it may ave someone the same treatment I was shown by Gerrits. I hope to goodness it was simply a one-time experience but the 3.7 stars may indicate that it isnt. Nice people but...

Im a little miffed by the negative reviews, as Garretts has gone above and beyond to exceed my expectations. I originally ordered the new Frigidaire Professional series dishwasher and stove. The saleswoman, Brittany, was extremely helpful in the selection process. When the appliances got delivered, on install the stove would not slide all the way back, as it was hitting the gas bib. I could deal with a 1/2 inch gap between the wall and stove, but this stove stuck out about 2 inches. I called Garretts and was directed to Bruce, one of the sales managers. Bruce shared with me that its unfortunate, but it varies between model and manufacturer whether there will be a gas bib recess on the stove. He shared that the industry is in a current oven volume war. To remain competitive, many makes/models are removing this to make room for the additional internal oven volume.I knew one manufacturer that had the gas line recess, Thermador. I asked Bruce if hed be willing to swap out the ovens, provided I pay the difference. But, that I also wanted the matching dishwasher vs. the Fridgidaire, and that Id be willing to pay the restocking fee on the dishwasher. I shared that though its not really anyones fault for not knowing the stove wouldnt fit, I didnt believe its fair to levy the restocking fee on the stove. Bruce was in agreement and authorized the swap out.I cant speak for the other reviewers bad experiences, I can just share mine. To put the above into context, brick and mortar stores do not operate on large margins for items sold, which is why their service and parts departments are so important. Car sales are like this as well. So, for Garetts to take a used Frigidaire back, without the restocking fee, thats actually a big deal. I was treated with respect and politeness, which is, I believe as a customer, all I can expect. Sometimes we get both, sometimes we get neither.On delivery of the Thermador, the front control panel had gotten bent. I called the sales rep, Brittany, she apologized and indicated it was already on order. The service guys had notified her.In closing, now days, Im of the opinion it matters more on how a retailer treats you when youre unsatisfied, within realistic boundaries. Garretts went above/beyond and has earned my loyalty as a customer for the rest of my tenure in the West Michigan area.

This is the first time I have left a review. The equipment and customer service was so very poor that I felt it necessary to do so. The quality of materials in my KitchenAid dishwasher were seriously substandard. All of the plastic components in the dishwasher became brittle and broke. I understand that Gerrits does not have control over KitchenAid however they do have control over rectifying the matter and standing behind the products they choose to sell. They have lost me as a customer.

Our builder purchased a gas stovetop oven from the store. 5 months later the oven was having persistent issues with starting. We called Gerrits Service deptarment and they sent someone out. The tech had no idea what was causing the issue but attempted to fix it by clean the burner and replacing the starter. The issue continued but was impactful due to timing. 4 months later we realize the oven will be going out of warranty soon so we should really get them out again to get it fixed. The tech comes out and cleans the burner and replaces the ignitor. The tech says he thinks it should be fixed, but to feel free to call him if it comes back. The problem seemed to subside for a short period but came back after 3 months. Now we know we were out of the purchased product warranty but assumed we would be covered by a service warranty. So we called again, reporting that we are still having issues with the oven starting. A tech comes out and cleans the burner again, he tries it a few times and it seems to be lighting more often. A week later, we try to use it and we are seeing the issue again. At this point, we have given up on a Gerrits Service tech fixing the issue, so we consider purchasing a new oven or going to someone else for repairs. Shortly after that, we get an invoice for $74.95 for the last service call. We promptly call asking why were are being charged for service that should have been covered by their service warranty. The service manager rudely disagrees and argues that the last service call wasnt covered by any warranty. To this date, Gerrits refuses to recognize they sold us a non-functioning oven, and now they expect us to pay for a service call that still hasnt fixed the issue.

Even though frigidaire says they service appliances, it is misleading as they only service what they sell. So I drive to them for nothing and they didnt seem to care that the website has no disclaimer.
