The staff here are all incredibly friendly and helpful. Whats more, they are always very kind to my three year old son when he comes in with me and that means so much to both of us! Theres a wide variety of toys, clothing and furniture alike and there are always great deals to be found.
I wish this place was around when my kids where younger. I went with my sister and was impressed with how much she got for her stuff and how much nice stuff they had.
You will find great clothes and deals on toys here, I Also thankful they have a patron point bonus system and you do get 20 percent off after 200 points. Yes!

The woman in front of me was told she had to wait in store and she asked if she could wait in her car since she left her kid in it. They said it was fine. I was told the same but when I asked the same thing, was adamantly told No, if you walk out the door, Ill make it tomorrow before its done. I waited and thankfully it was only about 15 minutes. I was offered $6.30 for a $150 baby monitor. I know I wasnt going to get anywhere near my money back, but that was insulting.Edit: in response to your reply, then I should have received an offer of 13.50-22.50.

I absolutely love this store. I live in Muskegon, MI and I drive the 45 minutes to come shopping here for my kids clothes. I have 5 kids 12 yrs and under and this store has all the up to date name brands for cheap..!! I would recommend this store to any parent who wants top brands for less money. If you need school clothes, summer clothes or just want to give your kids wardrobe an upgrade, come to Once Upon A Child in Walker, MI and I guarantee you will leave satisfied.

The employees were not so patient, or customer friendly. I felt as if THEY were doing me a favor when in fact if people like me did not bring our clothes there to resell, they would be out of business! Dont look a gift horse in the mouth is the saying that comes to mind! Customer service 101 refreshers needed!
Fully stocked. You can find everything you need for your baby, toddler and child. Bargain prices for gently used merchandise you cant find elsewhere. Highly recommend!
Never a bad experience. If you plan to sell (and wait) allow at least an hour. Having items sorted into outfits speeds up the process a little.
My wife and I shop here a lot! This location is my wifes favorite one. She says, the store is set up very nicely. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Lately it has been busy, but I have never experienced rudeness or anything odd. We have to be understanding during these crazy times. I dont like seeing negative reviews when I am very thankful that you can be open. We have 2 children and its a blessing to be able to have a place to get clothes for a decent price. Can trade up my childs clothes and make a couple bucks. Service is faster if you stay in store. Some of the staff can be unfriendly and may not choose to purchase all of your items. Will buy diapers if still packaged. And used baby clothes if clean, trendy and the season. They do have clothes that are not to their criteria hanging and for sale. You just have to sell yours to the right employees I guess.
I much prefer the store on 28th St in Wyoming. I brought my daughter to this store because I had already visited the Wyoming store earlier this week.Were in the middle of a global pandemic with a statewide mask mandate. Two separate families, and I emphasize FAMILIES as in more than one person, had no masks on. The staff wore theirs, but I use the term wore loosely. The person who waited on us didnt bother to find one that properly fits her face, and didnt even bother to cover her nose. Set a better example for your patrons, and for our kids!I stay on the south side of town going forward.

I just went to Once Upon A Child for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! They have a HUGE selection of kids clothing, shoes, and accessories from infant all the way up to big kids. I found a wonderful coat and snow pants for my 9-month old. All the items were in great condition and reasonably priced. And the store is very, very well organized! Ill definitely be a regular customer going forward.

Employees dont wear masks properly. They have no set area for a line so it becomes confusing for customers who are spread out all over. Employee literally stared at the key pad while putting my pin in.

Their were 6 employees by the door and none of the employees greeted me upon entering the store. They all looked even the manage and didn’t utter a hello.The cashier was really nice! But the vibe right when walking into a business should be a positive one!

Once upon a child is great. My wife and I always find our son clothes and toys. We havent sold anything to them, but from my understanding they buy most gently used baby items, but you would gave to check with then to see what they buy back and how much they pay for the items.

I was amazed when I went here! I was looking for a baby tuxedo and this was the perfect place to go! It is very well organized by size and they had some awesome old toys too. Things are well labelled and fairly priced. Definitely will go here when I need anything for future children in the family.

You may get better prices at a thrift store, but the prices at Once Upon A Child are reasonable and the selection of kids clothes can not be beat. They also have baby furniture, some toys and games, and new underwear and socks. Plus, they buy used kids items.

Absolutely love this store for my kiddos .. Although it seens some of the isles are super dark making it hard to see what your looking at. Also the isles are small definitely only room for one person. Other than that usually have really good prices .. Love being able to get 4 or 5 outfits for the price of one at the retail price
Ive bought Mali some clothes here that were fairly worn. Today I brought stuff to sell and it totally wasnt worth it. I would rather give my clothes to someone in need then bring them there for a tenth of the price you paid.
Hello, sorry for the inconvenience, but two days ago, Saturday the 12th, I walked into the store hoping to find some things for my new baby brother, I found this really cute shirt on top of a bunch of 9 month old girl clothes. I get home from purchasing the shirt, and there was literally lice or like fleas crawling all over it! Just think about all the other bugs all over the clothes it was thrown into. Never going back here.

I purchased a few pairs of boys shorts and got a great deal...or so I thought!!! I live 40 miles away from the store and when I returned home for my son to try on the shorts they didnt fit. The next morning I brought them back in to exchange them for a larger size. I was then informed that anything marked clearance was final sale. I wasnt told that when I purchased the items the previous day nor was it posted on the clearance signs. The clerk even checked and said it wasnt posted on the signs. The manager proceeded to tell me that since I was a first time customer she would run them through the system to buy back. After doing so the $30 I spent the previous day dropped to $5 and some change. Not even store credit was offered. Negligent advertising and lack of notice at purchase makes the seller responsible not the customer. I feel cheated and this will be my last visit to Once upon a child.
This place is AMAZING! i dont get how people can complain you can get so many name brand items here for cheap. Always great deals! Ive brought items in to sell and there was a wait but i cant complain theyre busy and make sure they buy what customers want! this place is great i recommend it to everyone!

Prices are really high, found several items that were more than they cost brand new. A Peppa puzzle for $1.50 more than it is at the dollar store, a cat and Jack t-shirt that was normally $5, theyre trying to sell for $5.50 and used toddler Sperry shoes for $9 more than the other store! A ton of the clothes were stained or had holes and seams coming undone Very small store but very sweet staff and the Under Armour is separated into its own section which was extremely helpful.
Staff was very friendly. I was trying to find boys size 7 grey dress pants and one of the staff took me to the dress clothes area. I didnt find the pants but places like this are always hit or miss.
Great for kids clothing. They have an excellent selection of boys clothes. Since my kids outgrow everything so fast its nice to have an option so they can still wear name brands and it doesnt cost me a fortune
Ive been going to the store on Alpine ever since they moved there..the store space is small however what makes up for it is it is very organized..very clean..the big named stores should take notes..makes shopping actually fun again..thank you for the time you put in.

I wish I had known this place existed earlier! They have everything you need and its all organized by size and gender. Its not just clothes,either! They also have shoes, strollers, pack and plays, you name it! I can always find just the right thing (plus ten things I wasnt looking for, but have to have). So much better than buying new!

I was looking through clothes, when I realized a shirt I was looking at had bugs crawling on it. I then realized the bugs were lice. When I asked a worker, her name was Jenny I believe, she told me that their store does not have lice and took the shirt and put it on a random rack, where the bugs could get onto other clothes. Poor staff, disgusting inside... wouldnt be surprised if the health department came and forced the store to close that day.
You bring in dozens of clothes and they will only take a handful and say they cant take the rest due to wear and tear. When clearly by looking at the items you can tell they were never even looked at. Some have been brand new with tags. So I went to another once upon a child and they took everything I brought, but maybe two or three outfits. I refuse to shop at this location anymore.
Ive purchased many items...shoes, clothes, toys, games, and tons and tons of books. I also have recently begun selling them some of my kids gently used items. Sometimes theyre too busy to go through your things when you drop them off, but if you call ahead youll usually get a good idea of how long it may take. They do a good job of keeping things organized and sometimes the play area is open so your kids can play while you shop!
I like the store! You can bring your used kids clothes and get money! The only draw back is they only take certain brand name clothes. They have a lot of clothes a ton of workers. Honestly. They are to big for the space they are in!! They just keep growing out for their space.

Very rude from the second you walk in. Some buyers are nice but other than that rude. They also don’t offer barely anything for stuff that’s brand new with tags when you sell. Not worth the time.

I have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and eager to help out. Some of the items are a little pricey but those are the items you arent going to find anywhere else nearly that cheap so it ends up being a great deal, especially with your 20% customer card that fills up quickly if you shop there frequently. Bring in your black once upon a child bag, and get double stamps for your purchase. I cannot tell you how many times I left with half my purchase being brand new clothing with tags attached. Love this place.

I absolutely love shopping here. I use to shop at Once Upon A Child once a week when I lived in GR. Now that we live almost an hour away we stop in every time we are in town. I can find everything I need for son weather its back to schoolwinter wear, summer wear, or growth spurt in the middle of the school year. I am going to be super sad once my son exceeds there highest size thankfully I have a couple years for that.

I love this store! Yes its a bit crowded but thats how they get such a good selection. I love finding items brand new with tags for 1/3 the amount id pay for them in department stores. And the black bags and punch card make it even easier to save money!

What I like is that I can find pants for my boys without paying $20+/pair. Since they outgrow everything so quickly... what I dont like: only 2 try on rooms and 1 week to return it if it doesnt fit. Thats a tight turn around for my busy life right now.

This place is a joke. I will never come to this location again. Your 28th street location is wonderful, helpful workers great stuff. Alpine location has rude nasty workers, it is over stocked, overpriced and very dirty. I can buy items new for just a few dollars more. You bring items in and they have so much they take forever to go through it. I was quoted 2 hours when I didnt get a call I called to inquire if it was ready. The girl was straight up rude, didnt put me on hold so I could hear everything she was saying. When she finally did get back with me she said they hadnt started it yet and to come in a few minutes before close at 5 and it would be ready. I could clearly tell they did not go through everything. Bought a couple of items out of 3 bins of clothes and toys and offered me $8.70. You should have to put something on your website when you arent taking more of certain items. A huge WASTE OF TIME AND HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.

Im always looking for deals for clothes for my kids (11,9,7,1); clearance, resale, hand-me-downs, you name it. At Once Upon A Child, the staff is friendly and super helpful (even willing to contact me when uncommon items come in that Ive left word Im looking for). The store is full of merchandise but they keep it well organized. I can pop in quick and grab exactly what I need for the new season or size without wasting a lot of time. With their abundance of merchandise, it isnt uncommon to find things new with tags at a better price than Ive found on clearance. With the sales, black bag, and punch cards, I save even more. Just as an example, today I stopped in to find a winter coat for my 15 mo old and walked out with a nearly new coat AND snow pants AND 14 jammies all for $39. Receipts like that leave $ in the bank for family outings. Not sure what wed do without Once Upon A Child!!
Overpriced, they wanted $80 for a used and scratched up high chair with marker all over it. Smh. I can buy new for those prices. Forget selling anything to them, they will give you 10 cents on the dollar 💵. You can get some good deals if you look hard and go often, but its rare.
Get a receipt when they buy from you.. look at what they are paying you for your gently used items.. less than garage sale prices!
Super picky when it comes to buying stuff, can have a whole bag all brand new or gently used and they a say “we would like to offer u $2.34” and your just like ummm ok now I’d just take it home with me
They dont always take my good items but it is a place to shop for any ocassion, they have a big variety of clothing.
