Very welcoming and calming atmosphere. As soon as I walked into the store I was greeted and started talking with Marta, who was very friendly and helped me learn more about the clothing industry and why buying sustainable clothing matters. I bought a pair of black leggings and they are amazing! Super comfortable, not see through, and feel like they will last for a long time. Would recommend visiting this store for sure!!
I wish I had a location near me! The staff and owner are extremely knowledgeable about retail processes, and the ways shopping for ecofriendly, ethically and sustainably made items makes a difference. There was a much greater variety than I anticipated, and a slightly higher price point than I anticipated - but understandable given that its locally owned and not one of the larger, more well known eco-friendly companies.I purchased a pair of joggers/sweatpants and a pair of faded leggings. They are two of the softest and most comfortable items in my closet. Wish I could get back for more!
Clothing Matters is my favorite store. I enjoy shirts, yoga pants, sweatshirts and more. I know the clothes are sustainably made out of quality materials. The best past is the comfort. I feel as if I’m wrapped in a hug when I wear these clothes. Thanks Marta and team for being so conscientious to sell items that nourish our body and soul.
Styles and fabrics are beautiful -- love this place! And I know Marta and her staff research their products thoroughly for sustainability. This means I can rest assured that the fabrics and dyes used in the apparel are safe for the environment and for me, and the people who make the clothing are well paid and work in safe conditions.
Great salespeople, the owner was extremely helpful when my daughter and I came in for a mother /daughter shopping trip. I am an extra large hard to fit and I felt like a princess. My daughter is in amazing shape super fit and she found some things that looked great on her as well. I highly recommend this for a wonderful shopping experience and feeling good about yourself and the planet.
This place is wonderful! Not only do you have fashionable, beautiful and sustainably, sometimes local clothing available, but the staff is super helpful and friendly.
Peaceful and helpful staff. Great selection of conscious clothing and warm atmosphere. Reasonable prices for the wallet as well.
What I wear matters to me. Thats why I love Clothing Matters. I bought 3 shirts from them 5 years ago and its just starting theyre just starting to wear out so I went back and I bought 4 more t-shirts and a blouse and a sports bra and I know that its not just good for the environment and its good for my skin but that my choices make a difference in the whole world. That buying clothes that not only lasts and its good for me but its a good for the environment and its good for everybody else.
I love love love the concept of Clothing Matters. Eco-friendly products are very important to me, and the store has a huge collection of everything from very beautiful handmade sweaters to shirts and dresses by local artists. The staff is friendly, passionate about keeping things green, and knowledgeable about the fabrics and designers they carry.
This is a great concept for our planet. As a hippie I love it. As a consumer it is not a very friendly store. My husband made our first purchase in the store this holiday season as we wanted to make better decisions and buy less packaging..ect....however I was not so happy with the items he has purchased so I took them back to exchange because I broke out from the wool material. The owner and employees refused to give me my money back and told me I have a credit that I have to use within 60 days. I looked around the store and decided I did not want to spend almost 200 dollars for a scarf since most of the prices are very high so I left very upset. I am extremely turned off by this store do to the fact that they are all about saving the planet but are not very customer service friendly. I got taken for $60 because we wanted to spend our money local...I was upset but they didnt seem to care. Shop local yes but ask what their return policy is if you are allergic to their material. I will not go back and I love the little strip that they belong too. We go to Global Infusion regularly and love them.
Clothing matters is the place to go. The staff was so friendly and informative the first time that I went into the store that I couldnt walk out without trying one of their items. The Everyday Black T that I bought that day turned into the most used item in my wardrobe. Immediately. I had to go back for more. The everyday t-shirt? Check. The simple white tank? Check. The basic black legging? Check. Flattering? Check. Sexy? Check. Comfortable? Check. I didnt know that it was possible for one store to check so many items off my list. A day (almost) never goes by without a piece of their clothing on my body. Basics. Covered. #winThey have other options aside from the simple basics, of course. However, my demographic seems not to be their target market for style. Good thing because I can only afford their basics.Oh yeah. And they dont pollute the earth. Check out their website and talk to the staff. Now if I could only get the labels at the grocery store to be pre-checked for me....
What is there not to like about this shop, the people who work there and the products they sell. Every visit has been pleasant - and the eco-friendly underwear is the BEST, most comfortable underwear I have ever owned. Well worth the investment.
I have been running for over 35 years and have worn a variety of winter running clothes. But I have never worn anything better than the tights and fleece running shirt that I got from Marta at Clothing Matters! Both the shirt and tights are made from Bamboo (tasc Performance)! They are the best! Bravo!!!!
The Clothing Matters pieces I have purchased have been very comfortable. Some of the items are a little pricey, but I have gotten good deals on many and feel like its worth it to spend a little more on clothing that is made with a better social and environmental conscientiousness.
Clothing matters is a small store. I suggest you go to see all of the different clothing they have. Visit the website. See their videos if you can and see all of their pictures. I have been on their website and that store is a great store. You should go visit their store. They have some nice things there. Let me give you the address- 141 Diamond Avenue Southeast Grand Rapids Mi 49506 Savannah Congress Elementary School 5th grade
