Awesome little store. Owner is personable great selection of warhammer.
Staff is excellent and well versed in Warhammer lore.
This store is now under new management and is open much more consistently. It’s new manager is helpful & friendly and is promoting more of a community feel. There is a large selection of Warhammer books, models and painting supplies here, with the only downside being that you will pay top dollar for them. Overall, a good store and a convenient place to pick up your GW stuff.
This is about my second favorite place in Grand Rapids. And my first favorite is my bed.
Tried to stop in during business hours when visiting from out of town. Made a 35 minute drive to the store to find out they were closed during business hours for training.
The store itself provides an full assortment of models, books, and other merch so anyone can find what they are looking for. Staff works hard to facilitate a good gaming environment with events that promote a healthy community such as painting contests and secret santas. Been a wonderful experience since opening, and happy to continue shopping at Warhammer.
Dante is THE MAN! Super, super friendly and really knows his stuff. I went in with questions as Im brand new to the hobby and Dante was able to help me out big time! This will now be my absolute go-to for anything Warhammer related!
I came in for the first time a few weeks back to buy the last few paints I needed, and my first box of Skitarii for the AdMech army I was trying to start. I told the employee, Dante, that I was new to 40k, and he was wonderful, we had a good conversation on the lore, he talked about his preferences with the game, and some changes between 8th and 9th edition.A few days later I went back in to get another box of miniatures, this time a set of Kastellan robots. Again, Dante was wonderful with helping me to make decisions about my armies, he had information on the stores usual activities and plans (barring current Covid restrictions), and on some of his background in the gaming community. This store, and Dante in it, are great assets to the Warhammer and 40k communities, and I cannot recommend shopping here enough. Closings, events, and such are all displayed on their facebook page. Its great!
After an hour long drive to the store, myself and 4 others arrived only to see it was closed with a be back in such and such time on the window. Seeing that they usually had a half hour closure for lunch, we decided to wait. After 45 minutes, finally one of the girls got frustrated and started digging around online. She eventually found that just before opening, the owner tossed up a post on facebook that he didnt feel like coming in that day, so left it closed on a Saturday afternoon.Didnt call in an employee, didnt even bother having a piece of paper in the window explaining this. Just didnt bother. We watched 4 different cars drive up, and drive off in frustration, while 2 of my friends who came to buy thousand point armies also left in a foul mood.Said girl who found the Facebook post put up a response in review and just got back some d-bags response about how hell go extra so she wont be missed, clearly a regular letting new people know how much they arent wanted around.Real classy.Dont waste your time. Not much play space, irresponsible staff, and the player bass here are toxic to outsiders in true basement dweller fashion. Plenty of other game stores in west Michigan for you.
Dante is always willing to help, and makes sure people get something theyll actually want, not just whatever costs the most.
Was planning on buying a few Start Collecting sets and a good handful of paints however you arent allowed to look around. Literally have to stand at the door and ask to see things.
Dante was super helpful and knowledgeable! Coming back to the 40k hobby after more than a decade away, I had questions about both lore and painting tech and he was able to assist with ease and passion.
The store holds plenty of events and the owner is always checking in on people and has a real interest in the hobby. If you want something uncommon, they might not have it but can get it there pretty quick. Definitely worth going if youre only interested in the hobby.
Great selection and staff. The manager, Dante, is excited to discuss anything about the hobby. They run events almost every day too!
The staff really know their lore and are very helpful in pointing out painting tips and tricks.
Very cool place that, as of the time of this review, understands that it needs to work to build the hobby in the area. They offer painting classes, have tables to play on, and are super knowledgeable about 40k. Im assuming AoS and WFB as well.
Store had no sign to show they were closed today. After driving for over an hour to get there and waiting for an hour for their lunch, we finally dug through Facebook to see that they posted at opening time that they would not be open today!
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
