I cant say how much I appreciated the service and professional business I received by Nick and his team. I thought my 2004 Pontiac Vibe was ready for the scrap yard, but they worked a miracle on my car and got it back to me within less than 24 hours at a very fair price. Every phone call was informative, truthful, and professional and I felt so confident that myself and my car were being treated fairly. It now drives like an absolute dream, much quieter, and I know I will get many more miles with it. Best experience ever! Thank you!

I dropped off my boyfriends 2015 Malibu with electrical issues at almost closing time and had a call the following day just an hour and a half after open the very next day, letting me know it was complete! Im elated at how quickly they got to it even though they were already slammed! There are numerous garages closer to home but I just knew I had more confidence in this shop because of history with my own vehicle! Very pleased! We will definitely return!

Great place for your general car needs like oil changes, brakes, suspension etc. May need a day or two in advance for parts depending on your car but theyll always tell you before you commit to a service. Nick is especially easy to talk to and work with and I highly recommend this particular Muffler Man over some of the others in the area for their quality of customer service and honesty.

I was going there for an oil change and tires for the last 3 years. On my last oil change, the guy that changes the oil pulled the woman behind the counter aside and was whispering. The RUDE woman who is part owner behind the counter tells me that they wont do my oil change again until the oil pan gets changed because the threads are stripped out! I say to her you have changed my oil for 3 years! She then yells at me in front of other customers sayingSO ITS OUR FAULT?!!? Then said it will cost me $1300 to get it changed! I will stop anyone I can from going to this business until she is no longer working there!! Word of mouth works great.... BOTH WAYS

Not a bad place overall in regards to service and aptitude when it comes to repairs. They will try to upsell you, so I would recommend asking lots of questions and or quarrying if there is a less expensive alternative for your repair. Sometimes they don’t reveal the less expensive alternative until asked about it. The bigger problem for me however is that they smoke inside the office and the shop. Warning, your car will smell like cigarette smoke for a long time afterwards.

Brought my 2012 f250 here on a Friday morning because it was steering funny. They fit me in with the hour and I had my truck back and driving like new with a couple hours. Thanks for the prompt professional service.

Woman who works at the front desk is such a horrible person. I cant believe someone actually made the choice to have her work in customer service. Genuinely mean to everyone I seen come in while I waited 3 more hours then I was told.Also when my car got done they claimed I had a head gasket leak that needed to be fixed ASAP or my car would die immediately. I was skeptical so I got a second and a third opinion from other mechanics in the area and they both clearly showed me nothing was wrong at all. A clear swing and miss attempt at scamming me.

Was here on January 2nd told the young man behind the counter I didnt feel comfortable about giving out a lot of personal information about myself... Im only here for an oil change when I question him about their policy I was told to leave..... he would not give me his name h...would not give me the owners name or phone number or nothing I was told there is no corporate headquarters and I should leave just leave... I recorded this guy he would not give me his name called corporate Im still waiting for my call back this was a very rude person went right across the street and got an oil change they didnt have to have my life history my personal information just got a oil change I paid I left

Very good service and really fast. However its really disappointing that they refuse to hire women because they have to protect their guys two bad experiences shouldnt make you pass up on other opportunities. So unfortunately I wont be back because there is a huge lacking of diversity in the shop.

Called ahead to see if they had time to do an oul change and they stated yes if i could leave my car with them they would have it dont by the end of the day. Went there shortly after to drop off car and was told they could not do it now. Very poor customer service.

My friend and I went to get our mufflers done two days ago, and soon as we walked in there was a woman standing behind the counter. She did not welcome us or acknowledge us at all. After 6 hours of waiting for both cars we asked how much longer, she asked us to leave if we dont like to wait, saying she doesnt like doing business with Indians!!!

First visit was good, customer service was friendly...Few weeks later trying to get there after work, got told the only guy that can do exhaust except bolt on is on vacation.. and told even if he was there it couldnt be done..Person at the front desk needs some customer service training or needs to stay in the back..Bad news travels faster then good news, many other exhaust shops that actually understand the customer is who funds there paychecks...

I’m not usually one to post reviews, but was compelled after reading some of the very negative reviews. I have been taking my car here for a few years now and have had nothing but positive experiences with everyone that works here. The woman I speak with on the phone explains things to me simply, and their pricing is very fair. When I come with a problem they do not specialize in, they always have recommendations for other shops in the area.Great place to go for many car issues! I definitely recommend.

I was treated very well at Muffler Man. I went in for a simple fix on my familys only car. We got it fixed the same day and for a very cheap price. The mechanic was extremely detailed in what needed to be fixed and told me exactly what he planned to do and it ended up costing less than he expected. Very glad I went there!

I brought my car in to have brake work done, they repaired the brakes but now I have a terrible vibration when going highway speed. I brought my car to another shop to have my tires balanced but the vibration is still there. All I know is that the vibration wasn’t there before I took my car to muffler man so I will not be returning to their shop in the future.

Thank you! These guys in Standale have been awesome to me over several visits. Ive had them replace my tires, alternator, battery, and oil. They will explain things to you, show you a simple break-down of pricing, and give decent advice. Today my car died on the way to work, but I managed to drift here. I first checked pricing with advance auto parts because they were closed, but these guys actually quoted me a lower price. As long as Im living in the area, this will be my go-to car place.

UPDATE:WOW. I could not be more displeased with a mechanic shop. Per my original review, I took my car in to get the right rear bearing replaced. A few weeks later, I start experiencing all the same things that happened when the first bearing went bad. No problem! They warranty their parts! I call, they tell me to bring it on back in. I get there, explain whats up, they pull my car in. They start discussing my car amongst themselves, I hear the woman at the desk tell the mechanic that its another bearing. I correct her, they basically look at me and then separate, essentially ignoring me. They look at my car, come back and tell me its a different bearing and start trying to scare tactic me into getting it. Telling me my car is ready to break, the wheel could fall off at any moment now, etc. I ended up taking it to a shop owned by a family friend, bought the front bearing to get it replaced. Went back to pick up my car, they ended up having to get another bearing - THE SAME BEARING THAT MUFFLER MAN REPLACED AND WOULD NOT WARRANTY BECAUSE thats not the one thats broken. Muffler Man are you KIDDING me? You tried to charge me an extra $200 to fix YOUR mess up?Glad to know everything is fine until they need to clean up their messed.Im never giving them my business again and I actively encourage everyone else to do the same.ORIGINAL:Honestly after seeing the brutal reviews this place got, I was really hesitant, but I had been towed here and didnt really have a choice.Every dealing I had with the place was with Dave and over the phone. He was polite and quick to the point and told me exactly what I would owe. I ended up having to have the serpentine belt, the upper and lower radiator hoses replaced, and I chose to add on a wheel bearing replacement and oil change.I ended up paying LESS than what I was quoted, which was awesome and way cheaper than the last time I had this sort of work done, and just basically had an all around awesome experience with these guys.My mom did stick her foot in her mouth (her words) and asked about the receptionist when we got in, having read the horrible reviews. She was not there and we were talking to her son who basically explained that she can be grumpy but ultimately customer service has made her less patient with people - which, lets be honest, will happen to anyone who works with people, especially in service related industries where people are often rude and expecting the worst.So basically, give them the benefit of a doubt, be polite, ask questions, but know that these guys know what theyre doing because theyre going to do a great job.

Ive seen the negative reviews but dont share the same feelings. Ive had 2 cat back exhausts put on 2 different vehicles, spoke on the phone and in person several times with several people working at the Stansdale Muffler Man in the past and very recent. Nothing bad to say about the people working there as far as attitude or service. Got me in and out faster than expected and cant be any happier with the welded install.

I read the reviews. Figured the people on here could not be serious about some of the negative reviews. Should have listened. Driving down the road one week after they installed a brand new exhaust in my truck it fell off on 131 sb just past hall st. The whole system from cat back. Called them up. This lady on the phone answered, and wow. Just wow. Ended up hanging up on me. She refuses to do anything about any mess ups that happen. She was nice as long as I was paying, but once my truck went bad it was tough luck. I drove back with my exhaust and waited. They refused to wait on me, insisting something happened that I did... AVOID.

I dont know what all the negative nonsense is all about regarding cant be trusted or takes advantage of customers lack of knowledge... to me that sounds like angry competitors trying to see someone who I can say firsthand provides outstanding customer service and goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is informed of what why and how right out of the gate. My 2nd time in I was greeted by my first name with a handshake and a smile. Take it from someone who works closely with private not for hire mechanics. These guys are good people whose only intention is getting you back on the road at a fair price. They provide high quality work at a fait price and logical explanations that are on your level. AVOID all the nonsense reviews on here... Im glad I did.

Took my misfiring truck here (that a Ford dealership couldnt figure out). They figured it out quickly and were very reasonable. Great service and i cant believe other reviews that they are not honest. Most dishonest places try to upsell...not this place!

I came in a long ago after I called and asked if they can install a catalytic converter and they said theyd do it. So I bought it, came in, they said they dont do them. They tried to put it in given they told me they would over the phone. They said its the wrong part. I left their shop and within 5 min driving my left window just dropped into my door. Coincidence? I think not. And oh yea; that part was a perfect fit, just needed to be installed in a different shop.

Went in for a standard oil change, get called back because the lower drivers side control arm was messed up. Before I took it in there were no problems with the car. I go to pay and they put synthetic oil in I stead and expected me to pay even though I asked for standard. Upon inspection of the vehicle, they broke the control arm bolt lose, bent it somehow and tightened it back. Threatened to call the police because I was not going to pay for something I did not ask for. Get home and my fiance points out blue paint on the hood, grill, and bumper and a spot where it looks like they used paint thinner to remove a spot on the drivers side door. I will not be going back here. Huge waste of money and now have to save up what little we have to get a new paint job and repair something that was replaced 2 months ago.

Beware of this place! I had my exhaust replaced here less than two years ago. It has been getting louder for a few weeks now. When I took it back in they told me it was rotting out. They quoted me almost the same as I paid before. When I asked how it would rust out so fast and why they wouldnt stand behind it the lady working told me there was nothing they can do and welcome to Michigan. They are rude and the work isnt good.

Did you read the review about all the bad reviews must be competitors? Get real. Are there that many competitors who would take the time to point out the rude lady?I tried taking my car here once. It was similar to another person who had an oil change here. Have the invoice to prove it. I didnt check reviews prior. I got a simple oil change. When i got home the next day I noticed oil all over my brand new driveway. Checked the oil it was low and noticed a strong drip coming from the plug. No big deal, figured i would add oil and take it back. These things happen usually a new washer, drainplug, or at worse an oversized drainplug would easily be installed. When i went, i communicated the issue politely. Then the lady refused to even look at. Said i must of tampered with it and wouldnt allow me to con her into paying for a new engine...yikes. Yes my car has oil weepage but never does it drip any. It has 274k miles on it, no i wasnt wanting a new engine just a drainplug that didnt leak oil overnight. The lady refused and said she would call the police jf i didnt leave. Trust me... this place is that bad.

This place should be called muffler woman. I am pretty sure the wanna-be helpful woman behind the counter needs to step away from her computer and stop looking at prices, and just listen to her customers. The intimidating sales tactic they try is now wasted on me. I fell for their sell once. I came back in after problem was not exactly fixed. I knew exactly what I wanted to say about the situation, but somehow lost my train of thought halfway through them basically trying to bully me into another 200.00 fix(for a window!). After saying I had to work, I went to another garage, and spent 75.00. I also now know for a fact the first 200.00 I spent was unnecessary. How is this place still in business with the terribly rude and unaccountable woman behind the counter.Reading through the reviews there seems to be two extremes: 1 saying the woman is rude and mufflerman wouldnt fix a mistake and 2. Saying all is well.Well my review fits under 1.I brought my car here for one oil change one weekend when I was too busy to change my own oil. Initially all appeared well. I know my car has some seal weepage from high miles but never a drip or puddle from the drainplug. After the oil change i was loosing a substantial amount of oil, and was leaving a drip and puddle whenever i stopped the car, and had a wet oil pan drain plug.I figured any reputable shop would put a new plug in put a new oring gasket, or put a new oversized plug in quick and we would be all set. Instead i got chewed out, called a liar, a con, a theif and told she wasnt going to let me take advantage of the repair by replacing a stripped drainplug. I had never mentioned a stripped drainplug, simply that i had a leak after the oil change. After a lengthy 35 min coversation, which i feel was entirely unnecessarily as it should have been a simple fix, she hung up on me. I decided i would have to fix ths issue on my own so i pulled the drainplug to find, you guessed it, stripped drainplug.Patronize at your own risk as this lady will ensure she doesnt stand by any work or warranty you have done. Cant believe she still operates there. She must take advantage of the GVSU students and their parents money. Her mood truly does change with the weather.

Dont Waste your Time or Money!. I brought my 1999 Dodge Caravan to Muffler Man in Standale to have an estimate because of a grinding noise I heard in the brakes. I only had the van for about a year and was unsure of the condition of the brakes. I had my 5 month old daughter with me and we walked through the neighborhood while they inspected my van. Holly called me back and told me that my vehicle needed a ton of work and was unsafe to drive. She said that my back brakes were not working at all, that I had a restricted hose, I needed cylinders rebuilt, and she just went on and on. She said the minimum repairs to make my van safe to drive would cost me $543.03. She had me convinced and I told her that I would walk back to their garage to sign a work authorization so they could get started. On my way I called my husband to tell him about the estimate because it was so much more expensive than we were anticipating for a routine brake job. He advised me that we should get a second opinion, and I explained that to Holly and another man that was behind the counter. That is when they really turned up the heat. The bullying and scare tactics they used were heinous and disgraceful. They should be ashamed of themselves. They told me that my vehicle is so bad off that there used to be a law that would have required it to be towed to get a second opinion. They said that a piston could blow at any time and that I would be without any brakes and could get into an accident. They told me that if I killed someone in that accident, the police would impound my car and when they saw how bad the brakes were that I could get charged with negligent homicide. I told them the garage I planned to drive it to was right around the corner and that I wouldnt have to go on any major streets and could drive at 10 mph. They also tried to use my daughter as leverage against me and told me I should at least have someone pick her up so that I am not putting her life at risk as well. They told me that the van was still up in the hoist and that all the parts were already ordered and the more they pushed me to not get a second opinion, the more I didnt trust them. They made me sign a waver saying that they advised me not to drive so they wouldnt be liable if I got into an accident. I ended up driving away with my daughter and felt like a criminal. I was embarrassed for them to see me buckle in her carseat and drive away. I drove about 2 miles to Leonard Heights Garage and his estimate was $129. He said the back brakes looked great and that they had been replaced fairly recently. He assured me that all I needed was routine brake pads and rotors. Thats $414 less! As much as Muffler Man trying to take advantage of me financially bothers me, all of the harrassment torments me more. I was in tears and felt like such a terrible mother for driving away, because there is nothing I wouldnt do to assure my childs safety.

Got an oil change in my wifes escape and throughout two weeks we could faintly smell burning oil. After noticing oil drip in the driveway I opened the hood to find an oil mess due to the oil cap not being put on. Upon contact with Standale Muffler Man all they agreed to cover is a new oil change and a new cap when their mistake could have cost me a whole engine if I hadnt opened the hood. Very unprofessional and will never bring my buisness there again.
