BEWARE!! Had the absolute worst customer service experience of my life with this company. I placed an order online for a few small items to attach legs to a dresser. The box the items were shipped in was MUCH too large for these items and poorly packaged. (I will attach photos in the comments). One item the package was completely open and missing its corresponding hardware (making it completely useless). The (6) legs I ordered were not the right size. Upon calling the number listed on PayPal to resolve issues I was met with complete and utter rudeness. David took the first call, I asked to speak with a manager after 3 attempts he never clarified he was a manager, but said he could help. I then asked if he handled online orders, his response, “what company is this, who are you?”, I stated I was not with a company just a paying customer and American citizen, he then respond with “ what do you want I don’t have time for this” and hangs up on me. I call a second time and a woman answers the phone, I asked to speak with the manager and she tells me he is busy so I am placed on hold. After 5 min I am disconnected. I attempt to reach them a third time, the woman answers again and I ask to have the managers name and for her to take my information so that he can contact me when he is available. She informs me the mans name is David and that the owner will be in at 7pm. I ask for David’s last name and she replies, “Oh we aren’t doing that,” right before she hangs up on me AGAIN and never took my information. At this point I am so shocked a business is even running with this lack of customer service. My husband serves this country and we have traveled a lot and seen a lot and I was absolutely appalled that this grown man and woman would act so nasty towards a paying customer. I was finally contacted through email to resolve the issue, long story short David Anderson was putting the blame on FedEx for repacking my box and losing my item.( Tell me why would FedEx repack a box that has been damaged just to replace it with another damaged box with poor taping and sealing and also not in a FedEx box!!) Later stated that it was not him who I spoke with on the phone that they are not linked with the brick and mortar store. (Yet they both have the name David Anderson!) I was offered a refund for the item that was missing the hardware or that they would send me new screws. I declined, because at this point I wanted nothing else to do with this company or its people. I asked for a full refund and they would pay the return shipping and I would mail the items back to them in the manner it was sent to me and in the same box. The next email I received was my last from them stating they would send me a form with instructions to return the items. Here are the following instructions per their form:Your RMA 1809 was authorized.Please, follow the instructions:1- The items must be in the original package and resalable.NO visible damage, writing or marks, highlighting, and/or odor.Products purchased in shrink-wrap must still be in original wrapping.Shrink-wrapped items that have been unwrapped are not eligible for return.2- The items must be received with in 30 days of the ship date.3- There is a 15% restocking fee on all returns. If you are exchanging for another item you will not be charged a restocking fee.4- You are responsible for shipping the item(s) back to Midland Hardware. Damaged or poorly packed packages may be refused at time of delivery.5- If the product being shipped back came in the products original box do not write on the box, please tape a piece of paper to the box before writing your RMA number. Writing on the box can result in us denying your refund.Please explain to me why it was alright to SEND ME the items not abiding by these guidelines yet you set such a standard for returned packages that YOU are at fault for?? I did notice a $1.60 refund placed on my account. This matter is NOT resolved and I pray that this company changes their ways.

Terrible! This company is a scam. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEIR WEBSITE. I ordered six electrical junction boxes. One day after ordering, they told me the product would not be delivered for several weeks. I canceled the order on the website and by telephone. I was told they would stop delivery and not charge me. I found the same product on Amazon for $6 less and two day delivery. Despite never shipping the product, Midland charged me over $200 for a product I never received. I am currently disputing the charges through my credit card company. Beware--these guys will try to rip you off.

This is for their online store - Outstanding service! I placed an order on Jan 21 and it arrived Jan 24, only 3 days later! My order was very large & double boxed. The lady I spoke with to place the order was very nice & helpful. Ill be ordering from them again.Im glad I ignored the negative reviews because the service and product were both terrific. Sometimes I wonder if the negative reviews are from bots, especially when the reviewer has only left one review.

I called before they shipped to make sure I would be receiving the correct item, no one answered the phone. I then received an email saying my order shipped and just hoped for the best. I get my order and part of it is incorrect. I called and emailed to try and get issue resolved. They never responded to email. I had to call and call and call before I got a live person on the phone. This is a dying hardware store! Never been there before and wont go back.We stopped in to pick up a jug of Copper Sulfate, a big one - like 5lbs. Having worked in a couple of hardware stores, I know my way around. I found the Copper Sulfate with ease, but the largest bottle in stock was just 8oz.After a lengthy search for a salesman, I found one back in the shop in the center rear if the store. I told him what we were looking for and I he told us.... Thats over in isle 31. (I think that was the number) I told him that we were just there and that the biggest bottle was 8oz and that we were looking for at least 5lbs.Why are you bothering me then?He was right, but really, why was I even there?

I am exceptionally pleased with Midland Hardware. I ordered several new doorknob sets for my home, and they were shipped promptly and as described. When I realized that I had not bought the correct knobs, I sent an email asking about how to return and exchange them for the correct ones, and Emily responded quickly and made the process easy for me. I picked up 6 small bolts and the cashier asked me how much they were. After I said that I didnt know how much, she tried to charged me $14 dollars for 6 little bolts. When I said that is was too much, she said that I needed to go back to the back of the store and see how much they were. After I when and found out their price, I end up paying a bit over $3 dollars. If you buy at this store make sure to bring pen and paper so you write down every price or the stuff that you want to buy or youll be given two options: go back and find out their prices or pay 5 times their price.

I dont think a lot of the reviews here are fair. This isnt Amazon prime fast, but I ordered 12 doorknobs and they were delivered within the time span they estimated, comparable to home Depot or Lowes shipping speeds, and the order was correct with no damages. All these 1 star reviews terrified me and I almost didnt order, but Im so glad I did because it was 1/4 the cost of every where else!!!

Recently purchased products from online site and the whole service was great. I called and asked a question about the product I was viewing online and got a great sales rep. who was very helpful and when I made the purchase the order was shipped that day and arrived by Ground the following day! Cost was also very comparable and fair. Now that I know this place exists I will be using many more times in the future. Highly recommended.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I ordered from Midland online. I never received the product, and was never given a tracking number. Several weeks after the expected arrival date, I emailed Midland and didnt receive a response. I tried calling their phone number given on their website--no answer, no answering machine. I also tried calling the number on my credit card statement. Same situation: no answer, no answering machine.

Amazing paint, friendly and knowledgeable people to help you find stuff, good prices on things like water heaters and AMAZING prices on very high-quality paint. Not a huge selection of a lot of stuff but has most of the basics. Our local hardware store of choice. Home Depot is closer...True Value is better!

These guys are great. Ive order from them three times now for knobs and handles for my kitchen and for towel rings and bars for my bathrooms. I dont know about in-store, but the big box stores cant even beat their prices. For all of my knobs and handles, Home Depot and Lowes came in about $300. Midland came in at $85. No joke. And their prices for the towel bars and rings I ordered were also about 30% less than the big box stores and other sites online. Shipping was timely and notifications via email were received every step of the way. Thanks Midland!

BUY WHATEVER YOU NEED SOMEWHERE ELSE! This place is terrible! They have no phone to call and it takes repeated emails and filling out their online form for them to respond. They sent us the wrong item and two weeks later still have not sent us a return label. Our next call will be to our credit card company to dispute these charges. I placed an order for the 4 uplift post Base Z-Max, High Load. exactly 14 days ago and to be received by my house in 5 to 7 days. I never received anything from them not even an email. I try to call them and there phone is not for customer service. I was holding back the job because of these post Bases .When I finally find the way to call them, a Lady with the name of Leigh answer the phone and told me that they never shipped the items. Buyer beware -- if your product is lost or stolen in shipment, Midland simply does not care.I ordered a product from Midland in September 2013. The product was not delivered, which admittedly is a shipment problem, but one that should easily have been resolved and would have been covered by the shipment insurance. I contacted Midland to resolve this issue, and they instructed me to open a claim with the shipper (FedEx) -- however, FedEx does not permit claims from individuals without documentation and a waiver from the shipper. It has been almost four months and despite multiple emails to Midland, I have not received any of the required documentation nor any assistance with my claim. I have been persistent, and yesterday I finally got a response to an email to Midland, letting me know that Midland would a) not help me with my claim and b) would not refund my money for the product.I am furious.If there are any questions about how Midland handles these cases in general, here is a quote from their shipping policy:We are not responsible for any items that are left on porches, at front/back doors, in bushes, or in yards, etc. A signature request must be requested at the time the order is placed if you do not want packages to be left by FedEx while no one is home. If you request items to be left in a specific place, we are not responsible for FedEx leaving packages in places other than specified.We as the shipper will do all we can to help with the matter, however, once delivery has been confirmed, we have fulfilled our duties to get the item to you that you have ordered. We do not assume responsibility for the actions of outside agencies, or the general public.Compare that with Amazons or Home Depots shipping practices, which will immediately replace or refund a lost package even before a claim is filed. Im usually a fan of the underdog, but in this case, the underdog has lost my trust.

I really cant believe these guys can stay in business. Their processes/systems are so broken and the customer (and their customer support people) bear the brunt of this ridiculous vendor.So, I ordered some screen frame kits and screen material on line with these guys as the kits were on sale. I received a confirmation of the order but did not receive any shipment confirmation or tracking. 8 days later I get a package without the screen material. Had to wait over weekend till Monday to get a hold of them. It took 3 calls (just ringing and then cut off) before a nice customer service person picked up the line. I asked where the shipment confirmation was as never got it and I wanted to see if this was a miss shipment or back order as well as the tracking number. She said sometimes the warehouse systems do not provide shipment confirmations. So, she investigated and found out the screen material did not ship.Surprised, I asked how a customer was supposed to know how and when it would be delivered and a phone call into them was only way. She looked and said she could ship from a Texas warehouse and it would take a day for processing and another 5-7 days for delivery.At this point, I asked for a refund so I could purchase elsewhere and requested a refund on shipment as I did not receive the whole order. She said she needed to get her manager to approve refunds, so I waited another 20 minutes before the manager to pick up. Manager acknowledged that the warehouse does not inform them (or me) of a non shipment of an item and she agreed to issue the refund.This has got to be the worst on-line shopping experience I have ever had, how can you charge someone for a full order, only ship part of it and not put it on backorder and not notify the customer?!?With these incomplete systems, they do not deserve to be in business. Certainly not worth the time or the aggravation, do yourself a big favor and shop somewhere else.

BUYER BEWARE!! If I could give MINUS 5 stars I would! Ive been in customer service for over 35 years and have NEVER been treated worse by a company!! First they sold me a product thats not supposed to be sold in my State (Fl.). When I tried calling to cancel I find out they dont answer the phone for Customer service, you must email them, so I did. They said its already being processed and cant be cancelled, so I refused the shipment. 4 WEEKS LATER I had to call the warehouse to make sure they received it and Midland Hardware began sending me a series of emails that were demeaning and very disrespectful!! Blaming ME for not following instructions for returns on their website. So now the combined 3 different restocking fees and shipping charges (incl. return shipping) amounts to 80% of the total i paid and Im receiving a $6.83 refund. Wish I would have read these other reviews first.

My husband ordered 2 2 pack tape measures. He only received 1 of the items. He checked out as guest so he had no proof of the purchase other than the order number. After waiting for a week and half for a response on the missing item an invoice was made out on the same day I received the response that showed he ordered a “different item”. Attempted to give them a chance, went to the website and order an adapter piece to connect a gas Line, claimed to be 3/8 x 3/8 which was perfect. Placed my order and when it arrived I looked at it though it was wrong and to my surprise it was not and instead a 1/2 x 3/8. I attempted to contact customer service to get the correct piece and instead of sending me out the correct piece they instead wanted to argue that it was my fault. There website is messed up and they even changed it after I contacted customer service, My confirmation email says 3/8 x 3/8 and they wont to take no responsibility. AVOID IF POSSIBLE as they do not have an organized system and if the off chance happens that they mess up, they will shrug off the blame instead of working to find a resolution.

However, the man who helped me gave me the item off the shelf instead, so I wouldnt have to make two trips to the store. Ordered a cheap inexpensive Steel blade grinder nut chopper. Well I got what I ordered cheap. The steel blades were all bent up before I could grind up 10 almonds. Maybe not midlands fault but I would not sell this cheap $hit. Going to try and get my money back. Shipping was more than the product.

Ordered 10 louvered vents from this place on 8/29 to be delivered in 5 to 7 days. About didnt go with them because of their 3.4 rating online, but their price was better than everyone else. And now i see why they have a 3.4 rating. Called today because they had not arrived yet. Lady checks and says they were not shipped but they were paid in full. Asked her to expedite overnight because they are for a job, she declined to do so. So i told her now i understand their rating, she says okay being very rude and then didnt say anthing else but is there anything else i can help with, but still had not resolved my issue yet. First order was not the problem. Second one - after 4 days of waiting I got email that my card has to be verified. I spend 60 minutes choosing three different phone numbers and hoping somebody will connect. Finally, I got somebody on the phone. I was asked to provide the info - i told the clerk that i have six card and i am not sure which one used. I gave him one i though is the one - he said no and put down receiver. 3 minutes later he I call another clerck told me that he cancelled my order. She was not kind or kept saying that order is cancelled. If i inquired about procedure she kept saying order is cancelled.Service sucks

Placed an order online and only received 9 of 14 packages ordered and the packaging slip column for quantity shipped was left blank. Tried to contact customer service with my issue and only on the third attempt was I finally able to get some answers, however that was pretty much the warehouse says they shipped them all. They offered to re-send the five additional packages, however since this was a time-sensitive order and they couldnt guarantee I would get them in time I just ended up very frustrated and cancelling my order. Very frustrating experience.

Worst customer service ever. Order was placed 4 business days ago after asking them 48 hours later of where the order is and when I can expect it I get a fake tracking number. Their phone system did not work for 48 hours. Their Facebook chat contact keeps saying they have to figure out why the tracking number is not working. I found another phone number and their Manager stated they do not have the product and waiting for their manager. After I explained the bad customer service I was getting the manager hung the phone up.

Note to those ordering online... If you pay by Paypal if the email you use on Paypal is different that what you specified upon ordering the product you validation email will automatically route to the email you have listed in Paypal. This created some confusion for me and after visiting Midland Hardware website realized that they only support you via email. There is no phone service setup. My shipment however does appear to be on time and should have it today. Just know there is no phone number to contact when following up on orders.

FedEx tracking info indicated delivered, but our security video on day of claimed delivery showed no deliveries. Probably not Midlands fault.I was asked by Midland, in response to both email and Facebook Messenger inquiries, if we wanted to cancel the order or have it re-shipped. We responded to BOTH to double-confirm we wanted the item re-shipped.Then we receive an email stating the original fulfillment warehouse was out of stock and the order was being processed through another warehouse ... and that wed receive our shipment in 3 to 5 business days.Monday, six business days later, I emailed customer service to request tracking info on the second shipment -- ignored. Today, EIGHT BUSINESS DAYS LATER, I asked, via FB messenger, for tracking information on the second shipment.The response was, we forgot to process the second order ...I then replied that I might let that excuse slide if it came from a 5-year-old, but not from an online merchant.Then, they changed their claim by blaming me, THE CUSTOMER, for opening two communications with them (email and Facebook Messenger -- in both communications I CONFIRMED that we wanted the order re-shipped ... and they ACKNOWLEDGED AND CONFIRMED that the order was being re-shipped).Today they said that because I had two channels of communication open on the matter they got confused and were waiting for me to confirm ... even though, again, they had responded and confirmed that the order was being processed and re-shipped ... and that we would receive in 3 to 5 business days.Today, I said I wanted it re-shipped overnight delivery at their expense, otherwise Id turn the matter over to True Value Hardware Corporate Customer Relations, their local BBB, and any other appropriate consumer advocacy and regulating authorities.They refused to ship any faster than ground service.I complained and expressed my frustration and indicated I would proceed with reporting and online reviews.They replied, order cancelled ...I see in other reviews that this is typical.Blaming the customer for this nonsense is inexcusable.Not accepting responsibility and not doing whats right to make it right with a customer represents the attitude that will ruin small local businesses who refuse to invest common courtesy, care, and value-added practices to ensure survival against box stores and large online retailers who are doing it right (better).When I called them out on their self-contradictory claims, they replied, Goodbye ...Yeah ... Its only a matter of time before their practices and poor customer service result in a chorus of goodbye from customers shopping elsewhere!This reflects poorly on the True Value brand.

Bought online Garden Dust Caterpillar Killer powder. They did not anything about shipping charges. Went through PayPal, there were no shipping charges. Pressed pay and all of sudden got shipping charged: $8.96. Also containers received dont look the same as on their web site.
