Don’t presume that what you see in a showroom, the brochure or website photos will be what you get. We ordered 29 unfinished, solid exterior and interior knotty alder doors for a new home from Rogue Valley Door through Idaho Custom Wood Products. Based on viewing knotty alder doors in a Viewpoint Windows store in Boise, Idaho, as well as photos in the Rogue Valley Door brochure we were given, and photos on the Rogue Valley Door Knotty Alder web page, we expected doors made from “tight knot” lumber. The last photo below is what is shown in the Rogue Valley Door website for a knotty alder door. That is what we expected to get.Instead, we got “loose knot,” with large cracks, holes and “punky” knots, that looked nothing like the showroom doors, or brochure and website photos. The balance of the photos below show some of the dozens and dozens of defects in the doors we received. We could only conclude that Rogue Valley Door makes doors with premium lumber for display in showrooms, and in its impressive marketing materials, but actually makes doors for customers from much cheaper material. Because we wanted a more finished appearance, and didn’t want to catch our clothes on large exposed cracks, we spent many, many days filling, sanding and coloring the large holes and cracks before finishing the doors. To add insult to injury, two of our exterior doors have glass lites in them. Those lites were badly glazed so we had to cut the excess glazing with a razor knife before we could finish the doors. See photo below. If you want quality knotty alder doors that actually look like showroom doors, find a door vendor other than Rogue Valley Door.

They offer cheap bundles of wood there and I often go to get some but I was cursed at and Rudley kicked off the property by the gate guard after I already paid and yelling for no reason friday the 6th of November 2020. Their employees are absolutely the rudest and I will now buy my kindling from someone who appreciates my business.

Very bad experience. The front door delaminated almost immediately and the company would not honor the warranty. Do business with someone else.

A little confusing to check in with shipping and receiving but super awesome people inside really friendly. Would have five stars if getting to the shipping and receiving office was easier and clear with signage.

I would never recommend or deal with this company every again. Trying to order a very expensive front door through this company ($8k). Got the prelim design, called and left a message with the door designer Rob P.. Also tried by email. No answer. Finally got him on the phone and he apparently doesnt deal with home owners or designers. I then had to call my builder, who called the local business who would call Rogue Valley Door and place the order. 3 degrees of separation later the door arrived almost a month late AND had the hinges and therefor the knob were on the opposite side they shouldve been. Now my builder is trying to take off the door, drill the opposite side of the jam, switch the hinges, and all this for 8K??!! It could have ALL been avoided if their designer hadnt refused to discuss the door with me (I had the order # and the prelim pic in front of me!). Terrible customer communication and a product that was WAY below the quality and attention to detail that it shouldve been.

Terrible quality and workmanship. Terrible warranty. We have had these doors on our home for only a couple of MONTHS and they are already about to fall apart. After spending $12,000 on three doors, I expected them to last us a lifetime. That isn’t the case. When we purchased the doors from Meeks, who then orders them from RVD, we were never presented with any details about the warranty. We assumed that exterior doors should hold up to exterior conditions and if they didn’t, that a warranty should cover them. Wouldn’t anyone expect that? That isn’t the case. Water is coming THROUGH THE DOORS during every rain storm and the doors are falling apart from the outside, in. Their warranty only covers exterior doors that have an overhang that meets THEIR standards. Those standards would have been really nice to know before we purchased these doors. We never would have purchased them. We just finished rebuilding our home after we lost it in the Camp Wildfire in Paradise, CA. After every trouble we have faced this last year, we didn’t expect to have to take a $12,000 loss on one of our biggest expenses with our rebuild. Take my advice and STAY FAR AWAY from Rogue Valley Door.

Had a Rogue Valley Door installed and less than one year later it has large cracks running thru the wood panels as if it was not dried before they sold it to us. Supposedly a rep came by to look at the door but never let us know so we could be there to open door to show him how we could see daylight through our front door. This morning I see a second streak of daylight through my door. This is not helpful when the outside temperature is 16 degrees. Would really appreciate some contact from Rogue Valley.

Was there the other day in the administration office, youd think theyd have some Fancy doors on their buildings but kinda ordinary doors, they should show off some of their doors on their own buildings. Nice place though.

Im a high end residential builder in Portland Maine. I built a high end home for myself and the doors I got from rogue valley, that were professionally installed and finished 4 years ago, have since rotted all the way through. I have 16 overhangs on the house and the doors are all at least 16 above grade, the rotting started within the first two years. I expected a much more high quality product from the company.

Worked at RVD 10 years! Door shop it was o.k up till they hired production suprivisor. Guy has no people skills !belittles every employee in shop. He ran off alot of skilled people !but upper management still lets him stay there!HR went down hill after Mary Bush. Had taken another position. They are not neutral. Stand behind horrible suprivisors.also ask for in door shop ridiculous amount of work from employees! So quality of work has went down hill.I would not recommend any body working for this company!unless your on parole or probation !they have a company full of that !!made me uncomfortable! BEWARE U WILL BE USED. Then thrown away. This review was along time coming.

After going through my local dealer, waiting for more than two months, I finally received my door. It was so damaged I was shocked at the lack of quality control at Rogue Valley doors, TMCobb, the dealer in California, as well as my local authorized dealer, Hayward Lumber Company in Pacific Grove, CA. The hole around the door knob was so torn that even if repaired, I couldn’t find a lock to cover the torn wood. It’s as if the worker was in such a hurry to drill the hole that he pulled his tool out sideways, scraping the wood. Then there was the torn and cracked wood at the top of the door, and the split wood on the bottom half of the Dutch door, near the placement of the strip of insulation. These problems are more than cosmetic because water can seep through the cracks and splits in the wood. The warranty is no longer valid either.I returned the door to Hayward Lumber, but would not recommend buying anything from Rogue Valley. The entire experience of waiting, complaining, returning and fighting to get some resolution has been miserable.

I would like to ask that Rogue Valley Door PLEASE stop flying the torn and tattered American flag. It has a rip in it about 2 feet long and is terribly tattered along the edges. They have been flying this flag in this condition for over a year. I asked them directly to please stop flying it and they ignored me. Maybe they believe they are being patriotic but actually they are being very disrespectful to the flag and it hurts my heart to see it flying in such condition. Please help me encourage them to replace it with a new flag.
