Joel did an excellent job on a project I wasnteven sure could be done, but he made it work. I was very happy with his knowledge, ability and superior workmanship. I highly recommend Joel for any metal fabrication work!
Joel is a very professional and fair man. He takes pride in his work and it shows. Work is always done in a timely manner. I am highly satisfied with his work and will continue to take my vehicles to him and recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent shop to go to!!
Regarding your reply to your most recent review - how is it not your business? They have an invoice with your name on it, you are clearly the business they went to.. Super dishonest.
Joel went above and beyond to get a project done for me in a timely and professional manner! I highly recommend this fab shop!
My boyfriend and I brought in a 2001 Econoline Box Van with a 7.3 diesel engine to this shop on November 23, 2020. Above is our attached receipt from Hartford & Mesman Mechanics and fab.Don’t bring anything to this shop unless you plan on being lied to your face and your money stolen. It started with a $600 diagnostic verifying that a fuel injector was the issue with my van. A month later I was called and told it was an entire engine failure. Once we came in and talked in person, the mechanic (Brandon) admitted to skipping the diagnostic that we had paid for! After then trying to make things right by agreeing to replace our motor with the same year, make, and model engine at a reduced labor cost (due to admitting that he had never done the diagnostic he was paid to do) the shop owner (Joel) then took back the price the mechanic agreed to and upped it. The mechanic offered to do the replacement for a discounted price to make it right for LYING about doing the diagnostic, but the owner called us a week later and told us he would need an additional $1400, thus negating the “making it right.” We paid them in full and were told by the shop owner that he would see to it that our Box Van was completed no later than the end of January, three weeks out. After asking multiple times for more details on the new engine, both the mechanic and the shop owner would not give us any details except that it had 130,000 miles and “it sounded great.” We wanted to question them in person to feel more confident about what engine they were putting in our box van because they would not give us the courtesy of being honest about its progress. We tried calling Joel AND Brandon, rarely receiving return phone calls. After not hearing any updates except, “still waiting on a turbo gasket,” (which is one of the last gaskets you could put on a box van engine once it’s already in), we stopped by the shop to see how things were going and they hadn’t even pulled out our old engine yet! It was February 1st at this point.A week later, we received a phone call that our windshield had been broken and replaced at no expense to us?... We went in to look at the replaced window and the shop hands were beyond rude to us! We asked what had happened to the window, and one of the shop hands (holding a beer) said he ‘heard a loud crash and came in and was like WOAH man!’ (And by “woah” I mean that he was not shy of using offensive language). So when I asked him what had happened, he said I’d have to talk to the mechanic. I asked if the hood had hit it or a wrench or what he had seen. (I’m a 120lb girl who wears yoga pants and is absolutely NOT threatening by any means) and he said ‘how dare we accuse anyone at the shop of breaking something on purpose!’ I’ve never felt so disrespected and verbally abused in a situation as a customer! I wasn’t accusing anyone, I was asking what happened. The mechanic (who was not there) then told us over the phone the next day that WE had started a situation at the shop and were not welcome until our Box Van was finished!…..
My girlfriend and I brought in a 2001 Econoline Box Van with a 7.3 diesel engine to this shop on November 23, 2020. Attached above is our receipt from Hartford & Mesman Mechanics and Fab......We went back to the shop to talk to the owner and was told by Joel Mesman himself, “I’m so done with that ‘stuff’, you can talk to Brandon if you want.” (Again, being profanely cussed at by this shop). Then, fast forward to March 5th, we stopped by the shop to see what was going on with our van. This time, the excuse was that they broke our headlight bezel (which they made US pay for). They tried to claim that they were waiting on the part from another shop, but they weren’t aware that my father has been in the automotive industry in this town for 30 years and he and that shop owner talk on a monthly basis. They tried to throw a good shop under the bus when in truth, they never ordered that part. Absolutely disrespectful. Absolutely no regard for other businesses or the timeline of their customers. After getting Joel Mesman’s word that it would be completed by the end of January, it still wasn’t completed until March 23rd!On our invoice from them, they wrote that the engine they put in had only 92,000 miles on it, after earlier telling us that it had 130,000 miles. So not only did they lie to us on their invoice, we are well aware of where they purchased that engine from as well as the fact that it has over 200,000 miles on it, and it was not guaranteed that it was in fact out of another 2001 Econoline (like they had stated to us previously). When we received our Box Van back, we immediately drove it over to a friend who was a retired diesel mechanic. After giving this shop $4,583, it was like opening the hood to a kindergarten project. Its going to cost us a lot more in parts and labor to have this van finally finished:The power steering pump was only bolted in by 2 of the 4 bolts (found one rolling around in the cab later on), the pcv breather is spewing smoke out from under the hood constantly, the grill is missing all of its plastic tabs and rattles freely, the main engine ground wire is not connected, fuel hose is spliced together with multiple hose clamps, the transmission dipstick is missing a bracket and is loose, the back up lights illuminate when blinkers or brakes are on, and the dog house engine cover is missing its rubber gasket. They left our wiring harness on top of our exhaust manifold, just laying there asking to melt. Don’t get me started on how much grime and dust was all over our cab (and broken glass shards in the cracks of our hood from them breaking the windshield). They also replaced our battery without informing us. We had a warranty on the battery and could have gotten it for free if they would have simply talked to us. Also, now we have a battery without the warranty paperwork.Since having our box van in this shop for FOUR months, we have been scammed & lied to, cussed at, taken advantage of, and received our Box Van back as a hack job. This shop does not care about their customers. Would not recommend at all.
Hes in Credible at welding and fab work i would recomend this if you need any of that tipe of stuff done
Joels welding technique is beyond 5 stars. His intelligence can fabricate any of your needs. You won’t be disappointed. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Funny to see the only review is from his one of his many girlfriends 😂 The owner of this business has no real care for any of his customers, and his work really isn’t the best. Way overrated in my opinion. Absolutely horrible service, lack of genuine personality, and lack of taking responsibility for actions. If I could give negative stars, believe me I would.
