This store is full of inventory. I always find what I need. Oops they did not have 22cal bird shot but had a great knee brace for my wife.

The stock here is usually decent. Store is packed full, prices good, sales often. The main reason I give only 4⭐️is because I’ve never really been a fan, but I end up here a couple times a month.

Very rude manager, will not let children under 1 in without masks even though CDC guidelines say kids 5 and under should not be required to wear masks. The manager refused service to my daughter and her two children and when I called yelled and hung up on me. This is the first and only store we have ever been turned away from with our children not wearing masks. As adults we follow the mask guidelines the kids have a hard time breathing, will never support the grass valley store again!

They have alot of things that my husband likes & wants.

Poor customer service. Was asked if my 2 yr. old had a mask and when I said he was 2 I was given attitude. I have also watched the manager yell at customers. Hey guys YOU ARE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE! Learn some manners!

Always find what I need for my outdoor adventures

Was refused service because I had a t-shirt as a face covering and the person at the front (also wearing a mask made from t-shirt material) said I can buy a mask from the store. I had asked if I can have him grab the product I need and he told me no, I cant serve you without a mask.I am confused because they are able to sell me a bandanna for $5 then let me shop.This screams profit, not safety. Get it together Big 5.Wont be attempting to shop here again.

The store is great its a big five we like big fives anywhere we go usually. The problem with this store is one of the managers. I dont think theyre all this way and I dont know if they have more than one but the one on the weekend is just down right unresponsive and rude. If youre going to be in retail you need to learn that the customers are why youre even there. whether youre in a good mood or not the customer shouldnt know. Do your job or find another.

Good prices, friendly staff and they clean their counters between transactions.

Two of the staff were very rude and not helpful. My arm is in a sling and I politely asked the person, I believe the manager, if she could please carry 4 boxes of shoes up front for me since I can only use one arm. She sighed and stormed off with two boxes and left me with the other two. The clerk at the counter was just as rude. What has happened to our town and the great customer service we have always had.

Terrible experience due to your communist governor. Taking away the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens, the right to protection from any and all released criminal. Making it impossible to buy self defense ammunition. With invasive unconstitutional laws. I was denied the purchase of ammunition because I had moved and had a valid drivers license with my correct new address. Your person doing my paperwork came back to the counter with the denial letter, no explanation for the denial and handed it to me with an attached letter and website and told me to go there. Of course with all the horror stories about this government website, I to am victim of this communist regime. No matter how many times or search engines I tried, could not access this ghost website.

I love this store! We get tennis shoes, work boots, sandals, slippers, socks, clothes, flashlights and locks here!!! Last year, I bought a $169.00 pair of shoes on clearance sale for $39.95!!! Awesome store! Excellent merchandise, terrific sales quite often, and great customer service!!!

Please do not support this store. There management is uneducated about whats going. The require you to wear a mask when its not mandatory in CA. This is a great way to push your customers away. Please educate your self.

I got a gift, went to exchange it. Was able to find what I wanted. Hassle free, even without a recipt. Everyone was wearing a mask and they were enforcjng custumers to wear them too.

Good all around outdoor recreation store. Friendly staff greets you as you enter and is always on hand to grab your size shoe or lend a hand in one of the various departments. Usually a decent pair of cheap shoes or boots on sale.Balls and gear for every sport with a decent selection of camping gear. Also, guns! Airsoft too. They even have weights and workout equipment... Stop in the donut shop next door to really round out your trip. Best in town!

Glad Big5 survived the closures due to COVID. Great resource for outdoor activities, ammo and sports gear.

Always have great ads in the newspaper but never have the items in the store. Went there 5 times for a certain item, I was told several times it would be in on Wednesday never showed up and it was in the sale ad three different times. If youre going to have something in your ad, order it so we can actually purchase it.

They are trying to survive like most of the the “Chains” that are under the attack of internet sales with no sales tax and next day free shipping. One employee stood out to me, his name is ZACH.. I saw customers yell to him across the store. Rude yes, but he kept his wit and composure about him when I would have went off on this very rude customer. ZACH DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB !!! This level 6 Google Guide recommends.

Everyone was very professional. The only problem I have with this shopping experience was being charged for something I didnt want or have in my bag when I arrived home. Now I have to make another trip to town to resolve this mistake.

Great store with a lot of items to choose from despite the small location. The staff are freindly and helpful for advice if you need assistance. A little bit of everything for the sporting or camping enthusiast. I recommend them.

Consistently has great sale prices. They pack a lot in this little space and it can be difficult to move around. The fishing section is not so good but they make up for it with a lot of other goods.

Very RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL Manager, Ive been to many Big 5s and Ive never encountered such an awful manager that treats customers this bad..It was kinda shocking really the lack of care he showed.... never seen anything like it

The new manager who helped me check in the dressing was demeaning (maybe she didnt realize it) and the policy of only 4 items at a time made my shopping experience very unsatisfactory. Then to top if off instead of the clothes I needed to try on being kept outside of the dressing room, she put them at the front desk and then disappeared so I had to go looking for the items I still needed to try on (which took over 10 mins because I had to thread through other customer clothes that were at the desk) I will not shop here again- too bad as I do like Columbia brand sports-wear which is not offered anywhere else in GV. Hopefully someone there will read this and other customers will not have the same experience as there is always room for improvement.

The employees are always nice and super helpful. We always keep returning because I of the great service and love that they dont hover.
