Deli is 5 Star...Roast Beef with the works on Dutch crunch bread add mayo x 5..Call it it, pick up, easy process, nice employees...(also have a good beer selection)

Easily the best grocery store in the area. Deli is slow but sandhwiches are pretty good. The meat is good quality from butcher. Produce excellent sometimes a little pricey. They have really good rye bread from bakery but my only complaint is that they don’t make enough because half the time it’s sold out

Ok this store is very close to me so it is convenient when you need a few things and they are always getting you checked out quick, i never have to long, i love that, they have nice people working there for real and their deli food is great and the meat counter is fantastic, really, beats the big grocery stores in the area, its clean and yes there is seafood and i have liked all the meat and fish I had there, it might seem a lil higher in price but not enough to stop me from enjoying their food, i love their deli, try it yourself and you will agree, thankyou SPD for your great standards in all you do,

I love SPD! Especially their old fashioned meat counter. Their USPS in store is very convenient.

Got a sandwich and I normally love them but this time not only was it made sloppy and missing items, it gave me and my son Severe food poisoning. Not thrilled.

Its not a bad store but the prices could be a little cheaper on somethings, but over all not bad. TAA

A great store one of my favorite places to shop, they always seem to have just what I need and a friendly staff on tip of that. If you need to pick up groceries this is a great place to go also has a post office inside very convenient.

Not even close to my house but I go just for the sandwiches. Just got have one sometimes! The deli girls are always nice, friendly and helpful.

I just spoke to a very rude male manager. We have been customers for over 25 years. Yesterday we saw over 5 people not wearing masks. The butchers didnt want to be wearing masks and were joking about it. I called and was told they will not enforce mask wearing. They also appears to be over full and not following guidelines. The manager actually yelled at me. I am super bummed. We will miss the awesome checkers. Natrual Selection is enforcing it and will now have all of our business. You just lost the business for a family of 6 as we no longer feel safe shopping there.

I have always shopped at SPD because the quality of the food even if they customer service is terrible. I shopped with my two little kids for an hour and a half and when checking out the woman screwed up my transaction and I couldn’t pay for my food for my kids. She didn’t apologize and treated me as if it was my fault. Will never be going back! Not worth it anymore

I regularly stop purchasing some food here. I enjoy the speedy service and well made dishes. They never disappoint.

One of the better places to buy meats and some fish. Always a good selection and very knowledgeable butchers willing to accommodate special requests. The store staff is very friendly.

SPD may be a little more expensive than other (chain)stores but the customer service is the best around. They have the best meat and seafood selection in town and the deli is fantastic too!! Love SPD

Extremely friendly staff who treat you like family . If I am unable to find something on the shelf, they are more than happy to check in back to see if it’s in stock.Best meat counter around for sure! I Love their produce too, nice and fresh!

Was in deli dept, with my number waiting my turn, and the gal took a lady who didnt have a number first. This has happened several times now. So deli sale lost,went some where else.

Excellent meats. Probably the best quality meats in town. A little above average on prices but its kinda got that hometown Im keeping my dollars local. feel to it. Besides the fact that they have many locally sourced/ non-bargain brand products.

Hands down my favorite place to shop for groceries. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable and best of friendly. Best meat counter in Grass Valley with good prices. their produce and beer section is great with good prices as well. I highly suggest you give these guys a shot and you will come as I do.

Love this SPD. Always helpful and nearly always have my special needs. I have waited for weeks for Corona coronitas whereas GV has them now. Also, love the fish and meat depts. They are so friendly and helpful. I personally have not used their deli but customers line up for it..as they do in NC. The produce dept. is very nice. Great store!!

This is one of my top 2 go to grocery stores. Lots of organic and local stuff. Super cool staff, good selection of premium foods with good prices.

Last Christmas my wife purchased two steak dinners. Mine had gristle and fat ruining my holiday meal. I contacted SPD to tell them my experience and did NOT hear back from them. Last week my wife purchased six deviled eggs - BIG mistake. They tasted like cardboard and processed eggs - could not finish them -waste of money. Will they respond? Doubtful. The good news is my wife will continue to shop there. Incidentally, we miss the Tonys macaroni and potato salads;-(

I love SPD. Locally owned and operated. Their meat is superb! The prices are slightly higher then big chain shopping centers. We dont mind the higher prices because their organic vegetables etc are worth fraternizing this local business.

We saw people loading into there car multiple packages of toilet paper among multiple packages of other items. It doesn’t seem like, as customers, SPD is looking out for the rest of us who do not hoard. We got there by 8 in the morning and empty shelves of toilet paper. We are going to rethink our patronage of this store. We used to love it but so disappointed. Sad shopping experience. What a shame.

I saw this grocery store near me but had never been inside before so I decided to check it out. When I arrived the parking lot was empty and I thought it must be unpopular with the locals. I saw the IGA logo outside so I knew it was independently owned. That can be good and that can be bad. Upon entering the first thing I noticed was how incredibly clean it was! A nice surprise. From my photos you can see a fresh deli counter, a well stocked produce department and a meat department manned with a real butcher I believe! The prices werent any lower, but not higher than their competition. The only thing unfavorable was their lack of selection, they seem to favor certain vendors over others. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely return to SPD markets in the future.

Hit and a Miss. Sometimes fresh fruits and vegetables, sometimes not. Long lines at certain times too...

A little small but the meat is awesome. Get your meat here at the butcher.

I love this market. Very good for anything; but the deli and deli service is very good. If you do not find the cut; ask them they are able to accommodate your needs. Very friendly, cashiers are friendly and swift. I hope this market can make it; it reminds me of the Old Knob Hill Markets from years back!

Their meats are by far the best around. The closest youll get to an old time butcher shop.

I went to post office station looking to buy 1 stamp, and Sierra said i could buy 1 but it would be mailed tomorrow . I said cool. Im glad SPD had a post office counter. And she Sierra sold me 10 stamps. Sierra has good customer service.

Very impressed with Deli Dept. Nice variety of food, nicely displayed. They even have pre cooked holiday meals for one. Prime rib or Turkey with all the sides, very reasonly priced. Tasty too!

SPD is absolutely myfavorite grocery store in Grass Valley. I always run into people I know, they have the best in meat, sea food, and chicken. A plus produce, a fine deli, and friendly associates makes SPD THE local grocery store. Oh, and of course the postal service inside the store is so convenient for mailing your packages or just picking up stamps or mailing supplies.

I’ve been shopping at SPD for years and years. The service is perfect—meat department and checkout clerks. Thanks for being there.

I like to support local businesses and SPD markets have been here forever and are local family owned. I like that they know me and I know them. They carry my organic and vegan products. They are not crowded like the large corporate-owned super markets.

Quality meats, clean and not drowned produce, fabulous deli and bakery (cheaper and better quality than Raleys). Wine sales weekly and not to be missed! The friendliest staff in town!

Friendly people, easy parking, great deli. The only negative is the limited selection. For example, until recently SPD didnt carry lactose-free whole milk. So I shopped at Raleys and I am now established there.

Today I had some shopping to do up at the center where SPD is I went in to buy dinner wow I forgot how nice it is to have a butcher. I got beautiful New York steaks already seasoned the employees were so hospitable new there jobs and I got some good prices I think Im done with Safeways long lines and grumpy employees I know where Ill be shopping.for now on SPD

Nice community market. Smaller than the others with higher prices. Nice little meat counter but you have to get your meat from the butcher. Cant just pull something out of the case with sucks when your in a hurry. Full service Post Office wich is convienient. Sale prices are lower than other places but overall prices are higher...

Been shopping at SPD for 41 years, staff are very helpful, friendly and courteous. Best meat and fresh fruit and vegetables in the county. Lots of local products and a satellite post office, lots of parking and ease of access.

Always come to SPD for meats! Great neighborhood grocery store. A little more expensive than some of the other store in town but the quality is worth it.

SPD has some of the best potato salad around. Bacon blue potato is by far the best Ive had from any store. Also only place I can find local honey.

I had a bad experience they are very very rude very very inconsiderate and they are stereotyped I suggest anybody using that store dont do it

Family owned and friendly. Full selection of quality produce, meats, wines, liquors, etc. Prices may seem a bit on the high side, but weekly sales help to average the cost down. Support local!!

First time in GV SPD. Great lady, Michelle, checked me out. Very clean. Lots if choices with organic items and special tapioca pudding, POM juice, Casa Sanchez quac, Hawaiian Sweet Onion chips, Amys and more!

Good small family feel grocery store. Ive had nothing but great experiences in the store, however i did have a bad experience once with a meat counter employee for no reason. I chalk it up to a bad employee that likely no longer works there. Otherwise had great experiences over 20 years shopping there.

My favorite neighbor store. Everyone makes you feel like family. Cleaner than clean. Everyone very helpful. Freshest produce in the county.

It has a Post Office which is open later hours too & on Saturday. Very handy. Store wasnt overly crowded even with an upcoming holiday. Not huge selections but representative ones of just about everything.

There were nice people and a wide variety of many foods like and store should have, but not all excell at.

Friendly staff. Lots of great convenience so you do not have to go all the way into town. You have access to certain postal services, PG&E services, fresh meats and seafood. Downside is that if you need stamps, you have to go through the regular line.

A little high priced, doesnt have a huge selection, good produce and deli, the people were nice, kinda. Made you feel more uncomfortable than anything. The man insisted on helping us outside to the car and he was an absolute sweetheart.

Just picked up some delicious sushi grade salmon. Made some great poke. SPD is the best market in town!

Meat and fish department are top notch with excellent customer service. Food at the deli department was either out of stock or didnt look very appetizing. Counter clerk there was scowling and rude. Cashier service was friendly and smiling.
