If I could give it 0 stars I would. I bought a chain worth over $1,000 and within 2 months it broke. (I do not wear the chain to work, sleep, in the shower, I basically only wear it at night or on the weekends. It’s never been yanked on, tugged or pulled on at all) I brought the chain in to Kay and was very confused how a gold chain could break so easily. They didn’t give me much information besides saying it must have gotten caught on something and broke. So they sent it out to get repaired, comes back and doesn’t look as good as it did before, you can see the repair from a mile away which I wasn’t very happy with, but I take it home and wear it even less than I did before, 2 months later it breaks again in a different spot. I go back in and the “manager” of the store tells me there’s absolutely nothing she can do besides send it in for another repair. She doesn’t find it off at all that a $1,000 gold chain breaks 2 times within 6 months of owning it. Unbelievable. I’ve bought many things here and will absolutely never be back.

Back in April I brought my engagement ring and wedding bands in to have them soldered and redipped. When I gave my rings to the lady I said my engagement ring was 6 and 3/4s and my wedding bands are a 7 and they fit perfectly. On the receipt all it said was to solder and redip. I got my rings back two weeks later and I put them on and thought man they are a bit tight but thought maybe my fingers were just swollen. Then I noticed that my metal looked a bit weird and seen that there was now a dip in it that was never there before. I am so disappointed in whoever Kays uses to solder their rings together and highly suggest you (Kays) stop using them. I couldnt stand it anymore and took my rings in to have them looked at somewhere else. All 3 of my rings have been sized down to a size 6!!!! I never, never said I wanted them sized down and it never said that anywhere on my receipt and I never got a phone call asking if I needed them resized. I will not recommend you guys to anyone for sizing.

This place went downhill BIG TIME! I used to always use this location for my jewelry needs. I was recently in there to get my ring resized, I hadnt been in there in at least a year. All I have to say is, WOW! A bunch of young kids with basically no jewelry knowledge working there. The blonde lady who has been there for ages has the biggest and most rude attitude. I overheard her majorly pressuring the man next to me to apply for credit while dangling a gold necklace in his face. It was honestly so trashy. When I had questions about my ring appraisal, she was rude gave me a very vague answer and basically laughed under her breath to the kids around her that were working. My husband spent over 9k on my ring and the service that they provide should be something of a piercing pagoda. I will never return to this location.

Would be nice if they updated their store hours online 3 different times I have gone and they’re closed and instead of taking the time to update the hours for their customers they just post a paper sign on the outside of the door. Not helpful at all......

So my husband spends thousands of dollars on my ring and I usually get it inspected and cleaned every so often. I go in and was told they arent offering this service bc of covid-19. Are you kidding me?? So I have to pay for something that is normally provided free of charge bc of all the money we already spent. Why dont you guys just close up shop if you cant provide all of the services you normally do.

As always, a pleasant experience shopping with no pressure to buy. Knowledgeable consultants on hand to help with anything you need weather its a question of a piece you want shown or just a simple cleaning. The prices are right and the collections are good. By the way check out the Hallmark collection. They have some very nice rings and necklaces. Take advantage of the sales and also if your a freaquent shopper get the Kays card with 0% APR for 12 months. Thanks Kays!!

I have not had a good experience here. My ring has been returned in worse condition than I brought it in. As we were there discussing with the manager, two African American women asked the other person working If they could see a ring. She responded with I cant open the case. They left. A minute later, a white couple came looking for wedding bands. She sits down and opens the case without question! That should be all you need to know about doing business here.

Was promised theyd call when they got the extra link in for the watch I purchase from them. They never called, never answered their phone, and I never got the link I was promised and just gave up after awhile. Very very shady people work here. Watch still barely fits with no extra link. Will never buy from them again.

Why would someone buy a 10k gold chain for $12,000 and cant even be told the weight because the seller doesnt provide that info. You dont buy a diamond with out knowing how many karats, just like you dont buy a used car not knowing the miles so why would you pay for something thats the price of a car and not know anything about it. Pure ignorance at its finest

Went in there to pick up a ring I had gotten customized and was treated very rudely by some 40ish year old blonde employee. Spoke to me like I was stupid and didn’t understand words. Would doubtfully go back to this location or recommend it to anyone. Glad I bought the ring at a different location and was just picking up!

I have tried to pick up our rings on several occasions. They have either been the wrong size or missing.I sent in my size 4.5 engagement ring to get resized to a 4. Today, (almost one month later) I went in to pick up what should have been a size 4, but it was still a size 4.5. They did not do a single thing to my engagement ring.They continue to make excuses or play the blame game on the other co-workers. Do not give them your time or money.

On July 22nd, my husband and I purchased a ring of which needed to be sent out to be re-sized and altered(diamond needed to switch out). Days after, I called to have the order cancel. I, specifically told the young man I did not want the ring anymore because I found a different ring with another jewelry company (Kesslers). I, SPECIFICALLY asked him multiple times if my husband and/or I needed to come into the store of which he denied. He said, he would take care of it. Let it be clear, I called to give them a heads up and confirm what was needed to cancel the order/return purchase. YES, I COULDVE SIMPLY LOOKED ONLINE but why have employees in the store if they dont know their own policies.two months later, Im slapped with a bill (late fees including) and a ring I DO NOT WANT and thought I CANCELED. The employee and manager are saying THEY cannot return my purchase because I CANNOT PROVIDE ORIGINAL RECEIPTS, COUPONS, ETC. OH, AND DID I MENTION, we purchased with a kays credit card. SO PLEASE TELL ME, WHY THIS IS EVEN THE CASE?!? ALSO, THE RING HAS BEEN SITTING AT THE STORE FOR A MONTH NOW of which my husband I didnt know about.APPARENTLY, THEY Only email WHICH by the way CAN GO into your SPAM. So you mean to say, they will let a ring sit in the store for a month and only continue to email the customer?!?!!!!Im never the type to write reviews even when I come across bad service. this by far is the worst! Mortifying!!! Despicable!HOW DO YOU FORCE SOMEONE TO KEEP An unwanted DIAMOND RING (not ENGRAVED and NEVER possessed by the customer) OF WHICH was PURCHASED WITH THE own STORES CREDIT CARD just because one can not provide original receipts?!Im sure if I went to another Kays store, this would NOT BE THE CASE.

Employee commented that the jewelry I was having cleaned and inspected was purchased at another Kays location. She further said that they were good enough to clean and inspect but not to purchase it from their Southridge location. She was very rude and i would probably go back to the Brookfield Square location in the future.

In November of 2016, my husband and I decided to upgrade my wedding ring. Since we bought our original rings from Kay’s at Southridge, we thought we would stay loyal. I picked out my ring within an hour of being there, I was so happy! However, everything after that was beyond horrible. We signed up for a Kay’s credit card because we were told of the great financing opportunity they had, who wouldn’t want special financing, right? Wrong. By the time we received our first bill we were hit with a bunch of interest, after being told that IF we weren’t able to make the first payment to qualify for the 18 months no interest the interest amount would break down to about 2% of the bill a month. Wrong again, try like 26-29% interest a month. By this time, my ring came in but the wedding band and the ring were separate after I had specifically asked for them to be soldered together – but who wants to wait more time to wear their new beautiful ring?! I sure didn’t, so I settled. In the meantime, my husband was disputing the charges with Kay’s and we ended up returning my beautiful ring after going back and forth for about a week of exchanged phone calls, pointless conversations and being told that we were incorrect by the sales team at Kay’s – the woman we bought the ring from actually stonewalled us at a later date when we were there checking up on where our other jewelry was, great customer service! Since we put jewelry towards the new purchase, we had to wait to get it back in order to get anything else. Lucky for us, Jared’s is the parent company to Kay’s and the manager at the Brookfield location took over the headache of dealing with the rude behavior from Kay’s at Southridge. A year later, I found out that at the time of purchase, the sales person signed us up for the insurance that protects the payment if I were to lose my job, or were unable to pay for some reason. Well, fun fact, I never agreed to this coverage. So here I am, 13 months later with no resolution to the ‘premium’ charges that I have been accruing. Why is there no resolution? Well, since Kay’s changed over to Comenity bank staff no longer can view your credit card information, the new bank can’t change anything related to insurance and the insurance company can’t touch anything that was charged prior to 10/1/17 because they are no longer partnered with Kay’s. Come to find out, when we returned the ring, even if we would have signed up for the insurance, it doesn’t cancel automatically with a return – you will continue to get charged if there is any type of balance on the card (which there was from our awesome experience with the East Towne Mall location!), and you only have 30 days from the original purchase to cancel this insurance according to the insurance company. Yes, shame on me for not paying for attention to my billing statement – but when the charges are so minimal who sees that until it’s too late on the paperless system.. but shame on Kay’s for being deceitful! Now I am stuck paying for something, WITH INTEREST because I am out of my 12 month promotion from the East Towne purchase – LESSON LEARNED and I hope that someone else who reads this stays away from the sneaky behavior of the Kay’s Southridge sales team or at least goes in with a little more knowledge of what to look for when making a purchase with them. On a side note, not all Kay’s locations are dishonest – just this one… and who knows, maybe there are different staff there by now, for your sake I sure hope so!
