Stay away…If I could rate them without any stars, I would. I purchased 300’ of 1”x12” tongue and groove lap siding for an interior renovation on 8/26/21. I was not able to make it to their warehouse before the closed, so they sat it outside. When I arrived on 8/27/21, I found the material wrapped in plastic and banded, sitting outside. I unpacked the bundle and discovered that the boards were in terrible shape. They had crushed several of the grooves trashing about 4 on the ends of each board, deep gouges in the face of others, and several of the boards were mildewed. I should have left it, but I had contractors scheduled to be at my cabin the following day. So, I salvaged what I could, which ended up being 71 in total loss. I expected 10% loss or so out of any lumber, but this was way above and beyond normal. This amount was excessive to me, so I contacted first Nicole (office worker) about a refund to my bank account that same weekend while the contractors were working on the house. She indicated it would not be a problem that they would process when they returned after vacation. The timeframe came and went and nothing happened. I then called and talked with the owner, Charles Wells on 9/6/21. The first conversation went well and he said they would make it right. He had to talk with his supplier and would be back in touch. He never called. I contacted him again 3 days later and he said that I would have to return the material in order to get a credit. I told him that I didnt have it, that it had all been cut up when salvaged. He said that he understood and would talk to his supplier and call me on 9/10/21. He never called. I called today, 9/13/21 and the owner will not answer the call. Left a message for the owner to call me. He will not respond to text, email, or calls.My advice to anyone considering purchasing from these people, simply dont. Their business model is to charge your bank account in advance, giving you no recourse with charge backs or disputes. Their customer service is non existent and when you do get to talk with someone, promises are not kept. Stay away!

This place is a class act through and through. They took my order accurately, responded quickly to a LARGE change in the order (it basically doubled), and delivered the material in reasonable time. They crossed state lines and a rather large mountain range to deliver to me. The material itself - I ordered Cypress Bevel Siding and Western Red Cedar 1x and 2x for trim - is beautiful. The grading is spot on, with minimal cracks, checking, bad knots, or other waste/cull, and great care has been taken to plane faces and edges, as well as break corners on the S4S stuff. Even the bottom outside corner on the bevel siding is gently relieved. I am thoroughly impressed.I highly recommend East Tennessee Building Supply if youre looking for quality wood, and especially, quality service!

I ordered 8 prehung knotty pine doors from them. They came disassembled and two of the doors were fabricated with the wrong hinge sides. The casing is not real pine wood. When I contacted them about the wrong doors there was no response. Bad service.

These people are great to deal with. And if you have a unique request they dig and find a supplier that can handle it. They found me a supplier for some Western Red Aromatic Cedar cut special for my needs. The wood was absolutely beautiful, low spoilage too! And their customer service is the best I have EVER dealt with as a contractor. Unfortunately, their only 1.5 hours away! I am going to blow my entire budget for this project on their special woods and products! I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend dealing with Tiffany, she is great!

They have most tools that you would need.

The staff is awesome. After a small issue, they went above and beyond to make sure that I was not only satisfied, but to make sure I was happy with the experience. Of course they offer a great quality product! But, you may find that at other places as well. However, thr businesss code by which they operate and their people make the difference.

This was my first time ordering with East Tennessee and Robin as their representative! I couldn’t have been more pleased with her knowledge of the product I was looking for and the easy manner she has dealing with customers. From the very first email she always answered me promptly and with the information I asked for. Lastly she apparently delivered my order to shipping promptly because it was here in just a few day!I will do business with you again!

The young lady, Robin, who helped us was super knowledgeable about the entire operation. She has our material ready for pick up and was gracious enough to give us a brief tour of the location. Material was first rate and the price /foot was competitive. We will certainly be using East Tennessee Building supply in the future.

My wife and I were a little concerned about all the knots in the Western Red Cedar for a tongue and groove ceiling but, some of the boards were furniture grade and after a little stain they all blend in and look fantastic. East Tennessee prices are much lower than anywhere I’ve found – even a local mill. There was a mistake in pulling my order but, these guys made it right. John is very professional and willing to work with you – I was on the phone with him several times working out details… great guy!

We ordered 3 knotty pine doors from East Tennessee Building Supply and I was overjoyed with these doors. They are beautiful with a huge number of knots and exceptional graining throughout. I needed a few logs to do some repair on my home. After much searching I ran across ETBS. They (Billy) could not have been more helpful. I have, I guess given the difficulty finding logs, a somewhat unique log home. After explaining to Billy what I need he said no problem. Even thought the order was small, for them Im sure, they delivered some logs today that were exactly what I needed. Great job and thank you.

I needed some white pine beams in a hurry a competitor could not or would not rush for me. When I talked to Mandi she immediately made arrangement to ensure the beams would be ready and called me back to verify. This was also in the middle of them moving to their new facikity. I could not be more pleased with the way the entire process went. 5 stars is not enough, but it is all there was.

My rep, Robin, at the company was very responsive and helped push through some delays by the freight company. Service was fast and the product was exactly as described. I ordered tongue-and-groove siding and sometimes there is damage, but not in this case. The wood pieces were intact and very high quality.

They went above and beyond our expectations! We knew we were going to be a little late getting to their yard, and they said No problem!They would wait. But, due to an accident on the interstate we were delayed more than 4 hours, which put us at their lot about 5 hours after closing. Not only did they wait for us, they loaded us in no time and then when our trailer light plug arched and blew out the trailer lights, they jumped into gear and came up with all the stuff to fix our lights, including new bulbs, wire, tape and helped get us back on the road home. This was our first time doing business with the, East Tennessee Building Supply company, and I will say it wont be our last. We cant say enough about their generosity. The two ladies that answered my questions before i ordered were wonderful. I cant say enough about them.The shipping company was not as good, i had to drive to their depot to pick up my wood. When i arrived, there was a broken pallet, broken boards and they walked all over the top of the shipment with greasy shoes.... show surface boards. Really.

I ordered from these guys because they are one of the few places you can purchase 5/4 x 8 beveled siding from. Unfortunately, after receiving my shipment, I found it to measure less than 3/4 despite being told it would measure 1. What I received was what everyone else in the industry refers to as 1x8 and what I could have easily gotten locally. In other words, they are mis-advertising their sizes to be one larger than they actually are. Unfortunately, I paid a heck of a lot in shipping to receive something I could have gotten locally, because I was lied to on the phone. Will not be ordering from them again.

Robin was a pleasire to work with. Quick to answer calls. Very knowledgeable. Took care of all the details for me.

Ordered hand hewn beams. The first three were split down the middle. The second order, one beam was a full inch smaller at one end than the other. The others had been hewn on the wrong side. I was given unhewn beans that were an inch smaller than I ordered. I was told I would be given a $50 credit. It never posted to my account.
