Great local bike shop! I was passing through Greenfield on my way to NH to ride at Highland Mountain bike park. I had previously just come from riding Windham bike park and Mountain Creek on a little vacation tour. I had pinch flatted my front tire riding at the other parks and was in need of a new tire (was running a tube in my flat tire temporarily). They had everything I needed and offered some great advice. Picked up a Maxxis DHF in double down casing and mounted it myself in the parking lot. They let me borrow the tools I needed and then set the bead with their air compressor. They recommended I check out Thunder Mountain in the future which I definitely plan to do. Overall, I had an excellent experience here and would definitely come back again if Im in the area.Pros:-Excellent customer service with great local vibes-Had what I needed (for enduro/DH riding)Cons:-Not a huge selection of offerings for what I was looking for
This place is nothing special. Although I took my brother here just to have his tire and tube replaced. The guy told him he cant change the tire because the brake pads are worn out. That basically sounds like I dont feel like changing the tire on the bike.
Excellent customer service. Great business and great people! Shop local.
BILL and his staff were exceptionally well when I purchased a Trek Farley from him. I drove 2 hours away to find the right size Fat Bike and he gave me an excellent price on it.They were knowledgeable about the product, explained all the components and helped me mounting the bicycle on top of my roof rack.I would recommend Bicycle World. Owner and employees are all riders and extremely friendly to talk to. The store, shop and showroom were very clean during this pandemic. Excellent service guys!!
Very helpful and caring staff!
Great folks, great service, good prices. Highly recommend.
If you want a good used bike or even a brand new one and or the different, accessories that you will need like bike helmets, gloves, clothing, shoes, etc. Well, then this is the place I would recommend you get it all in one-stop shopping.
Nice bike shop
BILL IS THA GOD. Most friendly bike shop Ive been to. Bill redefines amazing customer service. Hes a salesman with a heart and will work hard to send you home feeling like you got a lot of value out of your purchase. Thanks for getting me hooked on cycling Bill. Ill be coming up for an MTB soon.
Good shop friendly
Thank you Bill for setting me up with my beautiful Trek emonda! Bill is great, get you bikes at bicycle world!
Bill and his crew are friendly and great to deal with! My dad bought me my first “real” BMX bike from the original owner in the 80’s and my Trek 850 mountain bike to follow. I was thrilled to bring my son for his first round of quality bikes! Bill gave us trade credit for smaller bikes we had and got sized up for the new one. We test rode many bikes around, including an e-bike (tons of fun). Since we have outfitted our family with youth, carbon suspension, and fat bikes from Trek. We also have had other bikes repaired and eventually sold after upgrading to new Trek models. Hanging around the shop is not pretentious at all. Everyone there is helpful for your level of riding, stepping up a level is always available, but not forced. While spending time at the shop I’ve witnessed many on the spot walk in repairs and the crew there is always ready to help out. One Saturday I brought fat bike wheels expecting to just drop off for tubeless set up and Bill grabbed them and did it on the spot.Another plus are group rides of all types. I took my first fat bike ride with a group arranged by Bill and it was fantastic. Everyone was friendly and all abilities were welcome. We rode trails I’ve never been on and it was a great little tour.So far impressed with sales, service, and the nice range of bikes and gear available. Small shop but if they don’t have something they get it! Sometimes it’s nice to have just the right selection, and not be overwhelmed.
Great people, great service, great deals in a great location! Thanks BW crew!!!
Got a flat on a ride last Saturday and had problems installing a 20 year old spare tube. Got the bike to Bicycle World, where Bill quickly and smoothly replaced that tube, re-installed the wheel and got me on my way. Friendly good-humored vibe, efficient expert repair.
Great Service! Remembered working on my bike years ago.
On our way to go for a afternoon ride today one of our bike tires blew while in the car on the way. We knew bicycle world was on the way and have bought our bikes from there. So we stopped in, and immediately were helped by a very pleasant and knowledgeable woman. She gave us multiple options and they were able to swap out 2 tires and a tube right there on the spot for a very decent price! We will definitely be coming back here for all and any of our bicycle needs in the future!
I really liked my experience at this little shop. I needed to replace my from wheel and got a really good deal on a used one. I also bought some accessories for my bicycle. There selection is not huge but what they do offer is vary usable. My favorite item from there is my Hotshot Micro. I went back and actually bought 2 more for my bicycle trailer. Prices are fair and competitive. The staff there is very friendly and easy to talk to. Very casual experience. Definitely recommend this place if you need to pick up parts or need a little service.
Super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff, and good selection of bicycles. Definitely come here if you need any type of bike!
Best bike shop around! New owner, Bill, is super kind, just like the last ownwr. The staff is excellent!
Kind and helpful staff. Bicycle World helped me set up my bike just the way I wanted it.
Best bike shopping experience Ive had! Super friendly and helpful, and helped me to save a lot of money on my purchase.
Best shop in the valley by far. No over ego roadies like in the other shops. Very knowledgeable on all types of bikes, specially mountain-bikes. Great service and great price. And their group rides rock !!! See you Thursdays.
I went here with a price cap of $750 hoping to replace my Bianchi, which I had when I was living in CA, but sold before moving to MA. But I got a better deal, I did not have to spend a dime!I started my search at a large bike rack outside which had a good selection on both sides. I found an older road bike with some cool drop handlebars. I walked over to it to get a better look and check for a price tag but there was just a tag with a number sequence on it. A middle aged man came outside with some boxes. He asked if I had any questions, I said I was just browsing for now, as I already had in mind what I wanted and preferred to explore the store on my own first. He said the bikes on the side I was looking at belong to people and the other side are for sale. I wondered if the sequenced tags represented receipts to customer repairs and tune ups or maybe they are used bikes from an exchange program and not yet priced. Hoping they could be going on sale at a later date I asked what the numbers meant and he snickered “who cares? and went inside before I could give him tips on improving his customer service skills or being an adult. I thought about continuing the conversation inside but at the risk of the guy changing his ways from my confrontation and bringing in more customers, I decided against it. I know with $750 price cap I’m not limited at all on where I can shop so I left. It’s just my local bike shop and I wanted to see what it was about before checking other places. At first glance it seems like it’s about poor customer service. Maybe he thought with the coffee I grabbed next door in my hand, that I wasn’t a serious customer, but that’s just their loss. My brother needs a bike too but I’ll make sure he stays away from here.
Friendly and very helpful, went to inquire about a qr clamp only to buy a set of wheels 😁
One of the best shops in the valley. Ive purchased three bikes here over the years including a cyclo-cross frame, and two mountain bikes. I got a great deal on all three and it was an absolute pleasure dealing with the staff there. My bike is never cleaner then when it gets done being serviced there, even when I bring it in caked in mud. Its clear these guys love bikes and theyre always inviting people to join their group rides. A great community bike shop.
Can’t say enough about this shop. I bought my Trek Fuel ex from Bill last year and not only has the bike been flawless, the shop vibe is super friendly and laid back. Just recently I snapped the stem on my rear (tubeless) tire. I called Bill a 1/2 before closing and he said “bring it up”. He quickly replaced the stem, added a bit of sealant and 15 min later, I’m back in business. But better than that, while I was there, a young boy came in on his Walmart bike, claiming the brakes weren’t working. Without batting an eye, Bill tossed it in the stand, made some minor adjustments and sent him on his way. THATS what makes Bicycle World a great shop! Like I said, I can’t say enough good things about this shop.
Best bike shop in 413, bill is amazing and will hook you up, they have a great selection and do great work, would recommend a million times over
Excellent service of a complex problem.Jerry did a great repair, made my bicycle rideable and safe in a short period of time.Exceptional customer service.
I brought my bike in earlier this summer for a tune up and they were timely and kind. Unfortunately after the tune up the gears werent shifting correctly so I had to bring it back in, which was very inconvenient - it seems like they would have noticed this during a test ride. They were timely and kind when I brought it back, and even though it worked okay during my test drive in the parking lot, when I took it on a longer ride they still werent shifting as good as before the original tune up. I also later noticed that my rear brake pad - which theyd adjusted - was too close to the wheel and continually wearing away. They didnt offer any compensation for my inconvenience and although they were very kind and didnt charge me for coming back in, I cant afford to lose money or training time by bringing my bike here. Sorry guys :(
Awesome service. Friendly and knowledgeable. Bill and his staff are excellent!!
Bill and his staff always go above and beyond!
Ive bought three bikes here and each fit my needs and exceeded my expectations. The owner, Chris Ethier, started the Greenfield Triathlon more than 30 years ago. He donates both time and money to support cycling in and around Greenfield. GREAT PLACE!
I bought a Raleigh mountain bike in Shelburne Falls when the first front suspension models came out back in the 90s..what a handling disappointment in the woods...although my daughter is riding same bike with road tires these days on the bike path in Noho, so it was not a wasted purchase. This past summer I tried out an ebike at Valley Bicycles who were generous with their time. Expecting maintenance issues I wanted to buy a bike closer to home. Stopped in to see new owner Bill and although he did not have one in stock offered to order one for us to try on our trails. They are expensive with limited market but he was enthusiastic to get one in for us to try.Within 2 weeks we were on the trails. No deposit or copy of credit card ~just a phone number~ good honest customer support. I was having a great time riding the same trail we horseback ride on but getting a much better workout plus the dog loved it. Made the mistake of letting Sarah try it and did not see her for 2 hours. Had the bike for over 5 days with 2 dozen folks trying it and Bill never called? In the end we bought 2 EMTB’s plus accesories including water bottles-helmets-fenders-light and studded tires..we had a recall on one bike with a back ordered part but Bill was able to get us another one bike so we did not lose time riding.I have caught sticks in the derailer and grass in the chain. The cables stretch and the chain needs oiling. Bill repaired bikes with suggestions while allowing me to watch him work and with the help of a bike stand at home I am able to do it myself now.Thank you Bill and Rene
Thanks BW. Youre the best!
Great service plus very knowledgeable owner.
This is a nice bicycle shop and a has been in town for a long time. I feel uncomfortable when I walk into this bike shop if you judge and I definitely think they are biased matter who you are how much money you have what you look like from my experience at the shop. They want certain types of customers and they do not treat all equally. When youre buying a brand new road bicycle for example they can cause an excess of 10 to $25,000 I mean in my experience to my knowledge the average by schools around three to five k. thousand for a real high-end road bicycle. Simply put I want to buy a new bike and I asked him if I could get any kind of discount he said prices are the prices he didnt even try to work with me he didnt expect any business to lower their prices but I do expect them to at least try to make a sale and or accommodate me and not make me feel like Im not worth their time spending a lot of money. There are two bicycle shops in in this town and very professional and what they do mechanically and also both sell high-quality quality bicycles.
Fast, friendly, thoughtful and considerate customer service.👍🏾Jerry answered the phone on the second ring, listened to the description of my problem, provided two options as solutions and quoted each in a call that lasted only 2 mins. The job was completed in a third of the time estimated and under the total quoted. Ill most probably become a regular. 👌🏾
Very friendly and quick service on a repair. Thanks!
Great customer service, personalized attention.
Please note this shop has very recently changed hands. (April17) The new owner has only served me once but I had a good experience. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Zero attitude with my stupid questions. Thanks Bill(?)
Friendly and very knowledgeable shop owner
Small shop with great service and great location
Great local businesses
