Drove by today, 1/10/2020, large American Flag was removed from flagpole and crane was removing the GANDER OUTDOORS sign. Didnt last long! Permanently closed!

Cant give less than 1 star, or I would. Drove an hour to visit this store on 1-5-2020 and it has been permanently closed. The hours on Google search still show open. Do not go to this location, store is closed for good. Paper covering windows and small note detailing closure.

I recently purchased a new handgun for Gander Outdoors. The staff was super helpful in letting me find the right gun for me and did not rush or pressure me into something I didn’t want. They were very knowledgeable and respectful when I asked questions and when it came time to pay, using the Good Sam discount card it was a lot cheaper than I was looking at paying at most other stores.

Stopped in for the first time. They have a abundance of RV stuff. Only if you dont mind paying the high prices. Other than that I loved the store..

Great Prices especially if you sign up for a membership. The membership gives me tons of discounts for gas, restaurants, tickets, hundreds of things. Saved $$$! Knowledgeable staff that always go out of their way to help. Customer Service is top Notch!

Stuff was mark 50%off they would not Honor the sale price on 4 items I even when and got the tag off the shelf and should them 3rd time this store has done this to me Im done with ( Greenfield ) gander mountain all others Ive had good dealing with. Why do they have to be jerks there.

Great selection of items. And everything is 50 percent off right now. 40 percent off clearance items. Not sure if they are going out of business but if i had a bunch of money i would have bought all sorts of stuff i dont really need.😎

The gun salesman was kind of rude. I told him what I was thinking about buying and he was insulting about it. He always steered me to the most expensive options. A knowledgeable salesman can be helpful when buying something, however, should not be rude and ignore the customers tastes.I went back again about a week ago and a different salesman was much better! He showed me all the different options and was much more pleasant. They have a great selection of guns, camping, hunting, fishing, and biking gear, etc. They also have a good selection of outdoor wear.

The older gentleman selling guns in the back was really helpful in helping me by my first gun. The younger boys made me feel really uncomfortable looking at a gun like I was doing something wrong. I wish I could remember his name, but he deserves a raise! Thank you for making me feel comfortable :)

We stopped in to get a child fishing pole. The entire staff was very helpful (you could tell they enjoy their job). The store was organized and well stocked, bathrooms clean etc. We will definitely visit this location again for our outdoor needs!

Nice ammo selection, but not much else. It seemed like they had few options of most items, and all seemed overpriced compared to similar stores despite large discounts being offered. Ill skip this stop next time Im in the area.

First time I had visited. It had a very large selection of fishing, camping, hunting. Well pretty much anything outdoors! Only problem was there were a lot of items without a price tag on them.

Bought a couple Anderson AR lowers here. Sales staff at the gun counter are really friendly and know their stuff. They took the extra time to get consecutive serial numbers for my lowers without being asked...I thought it was a really nice touch. That said, everyone in the store pushes the store club and credit card non-stop. Thats why I do most of my shopping online. Its really annoying to be constantly asked to sign up.

We were able to find comfortable outdoor folding chairs here. Didnt look around much, but it is a big outdoors equipment store for those who camp out. Staff was friendly and helpful.

They have a little bit of everything for the outdoorsman. Camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, equipment and apparel. The staff was helpful. Always ask for a price check on clearance and markdowns. Most often they ring up less than the ticketed price.

This store is the hidden gem of the sporting goods world. Everything is clean and organized, prices are as good as online, and the staff is super friendly. Worth the drive from Indianapolis!

They have a pretty good inventory. The only thing I didnt like was being pushed to join their club. Every employee we encountered tried to get us to buy their membership. Way too pushy and I probably wont go back as I dont want to be solicited again.

Not bad... Heard about this place with their gun sale. Stopped out there very friendly staff although the store could use a little cleaning up. Prices were Fair with the sale that they were running. Other than that no different from any other place. Im only giving it 4 stars because the place seem to be very disorganized cluttered and not very clean.

Very spacious clean store with great and friendly employees. Tons of great products for any outdoor hobby. Will be back in the near future to purchase this years hunting rifle.

The store has a convenient location. The staff is very friendly. I was greeted when I came in and someone asked me if I needed help as I was walking through the store. The reason for the low rating is the high prices. I thought Gander Mountain learned their lesson but apparently not.

Besides some staff being very friendly, I was there to buy a Glock, speaking to the gun expert he only replied yeah and thats great in a I dont give a F*!k tone. Sorry for his loss, I walked out called a local gun shop in Indy and purchased same pistol for 100 dollars cheaper. It wont be long till they are gone just like the first time they opened .

Just left the store and was denied a fire arm sale by some liberal 20 year old whose only justification was “because I didn’t hold it”. I didn’t hold it because I’ve been out shopping around all day and I know exactly what I want and the price I want to pay. Not to mention I was serving my country, shooting and owning guns since you were in diapers!! I’ll be happy to never visit this store again!! #liberalidiotsincharge

Pretty nice place. Quite a selection of knives and guns along with a lot of outdoor gear. Good place for outdoorsmen to go to.

Got a cool hat for $5 plus tax. They are going to paper tune my bow for $15. They have a lot of clearance on their clothing going right now.

Went and to look at gun safes. Went up to ask the gentleman behind the counter if he could open one up for me. He said while the combination is 123456. He said it to me like I should already know what it is. Obviously wanting to look inside the safe Im looking to purchase 1. He was busy with a customer behind the desk so I get that period however there were 3 other individuals in the store to of them which walked past me to separate times each and neither 1 of them bother to ask me if I could use some help. I was ready to purchase to safe but with the customer service level be in at 0 I chose to go ahead and shop somewhere else even if I have to pay a little more money. I will not visit that store again. I do not need my a** kissed but I would like a little bit of acknowlegement that Hey theres a the customer in the store.

Admittedly, the first time I shopped this location I had one good interaction with an employee during the greeting and one that was below my expectations. I had come for an item in an advertisement that was not in stock, and was issued a rain check.After not hearing anything for a while I called the store, heavily learning toward giving them a piece of my mind and ceasing to do business there, in part from my last experience as well as the longer commute after the closing of the Castleton location.I talked to the manager, John, who solved my dilemma and re-earned my business moving forward. Thank you for making a frustrating experience end positively, John!

I was initially excited to hear the Greenfield, Indiana location was opening, as we had no sporting goods stores locally. That excitement was brought an abrupt end with the lack customer service and employee knowledge on the products that they are supposed to be assisting the customers with purchasing. I can only speak for myself and friends and family, but none of us have ever had a pleasant experience at this location even after purchasing thousands of dollars worth of products in dozens of trips. I just drive the hour to hour and a half to a Bass Pro Shop or Cabelas especially since they offer a more pleasant customer experience, unique interior designs, and a Military discount.

Absolutely loved this store. Good selection and better prices than similar stores. So bummed they are closing.

So I come here a lot and purchase things regularly from Gander. The store manager John sees me in there often and he’s a great guy. I came in with a faulty game camera. Stopped taking pictures and sending them out to the phone. Problem was I tossed my receipt and they didn’t even carry the exact model camera I had bought. We got the camera company on the phone and customer service hung up on me when I tried to get my warranty honored. At that point John told Bailey, one of his employees, to take care of me. He set me up with a new cam and made sure my cellular plan I purchased for it carried over. Long story short all the staff are awesome and I’ll continue to buy and shop at this location forever. He didn’t have to do a thing since my receipt was lost, and I walked out the door with a brand new working cam.

This place is much better than the Gander before. Helpful staff and nice people

Noticed the new Gander Outdoors sign on the building just a few weeks ago and realized The store was coming back!! I figured I should take a...gander. I mainly focused on the firearms accessories. A solid ammo variety and plenty of holsters/speedloaders/cleaning supplies/ everything you could need. Gun selection seems good, its stretched out and takes of up a lot of real estate which is awesome. Bought an item which rang up wrong at the register but they took care of me and were able to teach a few employees how to handle a price correction so it was a win win. Ill be back!

After spending a few thousand dollars here I have walked away with great guns and have no complaints about it other than maybe 1 or 2 employees back in the firearms helping alot of customers. It doesnt work. I go in every so often to look at possible new firearms purchases and firearm accessories purchases but I was told a few weeks ago to not come back if Im not going to purchase anything. I was not a nuisance or being generally harassing. In light of that I will not be back for anything from this store.

Staff is always helpful and around when you need them, willing to talk if you need help but also leave you be if thats more your style. Firearm prices are fair, ammo prices a bit high.

I have been here about 5 times and left disappointed every time. The last visit was to make a return. Not one of the three people at the desk knew how to do it and all stood around and waited for the manager who finally arrived with a bad attitude. Staff at the gun counter it slow and clueless. One guy in archery could not answer simple questions. Last straw with the poor service at the return counter. I wont be back. Bass Pro and Cabelas get my business. If this GM keeps it up it will be out of business in no time.UPDATE: 3/11/2017Gander Mountain files Ch. 11 bankruptcy, closing 32 stores including this one.
