Lake Brandt Park.Have you taken advantage of Lake Brandt Park? Great place to have an affordable day outside with the family. Pier fishing and renting kayaks or john boats for the entire day is only a few bucks. There are a few picnic tables or a pavilion for rent. Check it out while the π are biting! π£π³π¦#gettoknowgso
Very beautiful! Expansive lake, forested banks with majestic sky. Nature to soothe the soul.
Rent row boats, get bait, launch your boat, pretty sure they have kayaks and canoes too, prices are reasonable, not a bad place to spend a few hours.
Fantastic place to enjoy some time with family. Kayak or canoe. Lake is really nice and the stay working there really helpful.
Great MTB trails. Facilities are always clean the times I have been there. Maybe 2-3 times a month.
This is a watersport haven.Lake Brandt Marina is exhaustive for this with personal boating access, a fishing pier, a plethora of boats/paddles/gear for rent, and parking to accommodate it all. Prices for all of these activities are listed on signage at several places. There are several picnic tables, bathrooms, a shelter, and a small office with drink machines outside. If being on the water is your thing, Lake Brandt Marina is your jam.
Having lived in Greensboro for two years, I am disappointed I didnt discover this area sooner! I think the marina is nice and offers some good trails (which is what I have used) and some water sports (paddle boarding, canoeing, etc.). Since we dont have real mountains in this part of NC this is a nice way to be able to hike.My only recommendations for the place would be for there to be some trash cans (especially for us with dogs) and perhaps more trail options that loop around (without having to go all the way around the lake).
So beautiful and so relexing in your day off get all stress out of your mind pure nature helping you have good feeling keep. Have good mind please all friends and family
It is a cool place to kayak, the trails are decently clean, and the rental boats, and stand-up paddle boards get booked on days like memorial-day, veterans-day, and other holidays, and on the weekends
PERFECT PLACE for a sunny day & if youβre plus sized the kayaks still fit
Never knew that this amazing place is only few minutes away from OAk Ridge! Great place to have relaxed fun time within minutes from Oak Ridge, GSO and High Point! Boating, Fishing and trails!
Great fishing but the guy working inside the marina needs a job where he doesnt have to work with the public, VERY RUDE!!
Truly missing the warm weather and kayaking here!!! I went kayaking here for the first time at Lake Brandt years ago and decided to go back this passed summer to make it an every weekend thing. I canβt wait to go back!
Good hiking trails in the area. More hills than expected, traversing many ravines.
Beautiful place. You cant swim in this place.
Hiked the MST eastbound. Lovely trail
Cheap boat rentals, picnic tables on the lake and access to 3 hiking trail choices and mountain bike trails. Bathrooms and a drink machine that takes credit cards. You can put in your own boat for a fee. Closed Tues and Wed.
Nice peer for fishing. Nice staff and very clean
Nice small marina, friendly people!
Great place for boating.
Very nice place for the boat and fishing, relaxing with my family
Love it Awesome place π
You have to see this place in person to appreciate it
Quiet beautiful lake to paddleboard, canoe, kayak, fish. Not crowded during weekdays.
Incredible place! Loved the people working. Boat was great. Experienced 20+ black bass, and wonderful weather! Best city lake to fish, by FAR! Ill return every year when I visit family! Thanks City of Greensboro for always making it a pleasurable experience!
Its a good place to relax whether picnicking, kayaking, fishing from a boat, or just reading a book while relaxing along the shoreline. The water is beautiful, the song birds are plentiful, and the sun is comforting and inviting. It is safe and secure without being over patrolled.
Has kayaks for renting or you can bring your own; boat dock; benches by water to relax and brunch; dock for fishing
The marina was absolutely lovely. I ended up here in the middle of a trail run and decided to take a brief test to enjoy the water. It was a cooler morning and still fairly early so I didnt encounter anyone else though someone was driving up as I left. It looked like there was a place to rent kayaks or canoes to take out onto the lake and this seems like a great place to do it. All in all I would certainly recommend this spot for a beautiful day connecting to nature!
Fantastic mountain biking trails around Lake Brandt like Wild Turkey and Reedy Fork, and more, all with the potential for long mileage for your ride or run and a good workout for all levels of mountain biking or running. The faster you ride it, the better for line choice.
Great marina with rental kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. There are also nearby trails for hiking.
1 of 3 lakes which share boating and fishing access. The smallest of the 3, but staffed by VERY friendly personnel who want to get people on their water.Closed every Tuesday. Open sunrise to sunset year round. Animal friendly. Picnic tables available, boat rentals, hunting and fishing license sold here. Average water depth 6 feet, but no swimming as this is a city water supply. No motorized boats for same reason but electric engines OK (small lake - no real need though ). Handicap accessible but no handicapped boats available. This is a city park - no alcoholic beverages allowed. Please remember to stay hydrated.Havent tried the hiking or biking trails yet, will edit review once I have. There are several bike clubs and bird watching clubs who come here often so until my review, you should come out here and judge them yourself.
Beautiful area and great to kayak rentals. I just wish that they would put a bathroom on the other side of the lake. It sucks to be 3 hours into a kayaking session only to have to turn back because you have to go to the bathroom and you are on the other side of the lake!
Beautiful area..very well kept..
Beautiful
Lots of great trails close to Greensboro.
Beautiful city park with canoe, kayak, and sailboat rentals. Live bait including bass and crappie minnows. Walking trails in every direction. Designated mountain bike trails and designated foot traffic only trails. Easy to hike to and access the North Carolina Mountains to Sea Trail. Lots of fish, waterfowl, and wildlife to view. Leashed dogs are welcome.
Pretty cool check in a separate area then the rentals
Fun little place to take my child and be outside andfish a little.
Beautiful lake! Lake Brandt has the advantage of being large enough to give you plenty of room to explore & small enough that you dont feel totally isolated all the time. Theres a variety of wildlife, including deer, herons, eagles & ducks ; theres fishing & hiking & biking trails all around the lake. Kayak rental is extremely reasonably priced and worth every cent. Easily, its my favorite place to get a dose of nature.
Had a blast with some friends canoeing. The only issue is the price points. They need to be more clear. Glad I brought enough money with me.
A very busy outdoor recreation area with a lot to offer. You can launch boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards. There are also hiking and biking trails and great fishing.
The hiking trails are great for someone who wants a short educational walk in a natural area up to a 12 mile loop around Lake Brandt. Trails are natural with hills and wooden bridges. Bird sightings and calls are many, with a chance to see deer and other animals.
I really enjoyed myself great experience but the workers are very rude an not helpful
Staff was very professional! She took us out about a 2 mile total! π Great guide! Bring workout gloves or bike gloves so that you dont get a callous from gripping paddle. CamelPack for water especially on hotter days. A hat, shades, and sunscreen during Summer! Great up close and personal wildlife! Binoculars are cool if you can balance all of that in a canoe πͺπͺπͺππββοΈπββοΈππ£π£ββοΈπ£ββοΈ
Great location to go for a quick 7 mile hike during this time of the year. Wild Turkey Trail
I loved it.. good place to fish and just relaxation.. beautiful out there too!
Well maintained place for all family members, staff members friendly and professional, returning every year all season long
Beautiful lake--great for paddle boarding. I traveled 2 hours from Raleigh to attend Paddle Fest event hosted by Get Outdoors. Loved it and will return. Theres a Wholes Food & other shopping plaza on the road to the lake. I stopped & got lunch for the lake.
Theyve got small boats to rent
It was my first time paddle boating. Although there was no one to give specific directions, people on the water encouraged & gave instructions. It was relaxing. Talk about an arm work out!!!!
Excellent laid-back atmosphere but with all the safety precautions in place and thoroughly attentive Wildlife officers to help with any needs
I participated in the night time kayak paddle and had an awesome time! It was beautiful watching the sun go done & the stars come out while your on the water and hearing all the creatures and I would recommend it to all!
This lake is ok.
Adding more facilities would help
Nice place to take a paddle. Very reasonable kayak, SUP rental. Saw lots of great egrets and great herons, osprey.
Beautiful scenery
I live right on the lake and its perfect. When I go kayaking I can almost see my house! The kayak was clean and the staff was incredible. They elucidated us very well. Lake was beautiful to explore.
Hassle free experience. Good prices. Friendly staff
The lake is beautiful. Its a great place to fish.
Great lake with kayak and stand up paddle boards along with canoes and fishingThe personnel ggo above and beyond in helping (first time kayaking) me!
A lovely place and treasure for the city. Paddle board rentals are a blast. Sunset over the lake is beautiful. Have had interactions with employees at the rental office that were incredibly kind and helpful to indifferent and borderline rude. Absent that issue this place is great and a must visit. Can get very crowded on Saturday.
Love this place!I have been visiting it for 20 years. A jewel, with great views, of birds, and sky, with great trails as well!
The staff is friendly and the equipment exceeded my expectations. I thought the rates were hourly because they were so inexpensive; it was $12 for the whole day for a kayak.
Lake Brandt & lake Higgins r,great places 2,go4,fun & sun u,can fish, kayak, they rent boats 2,
The lake was beautiful, we picked the perfect day to go. We didnt read the rules so we brought our dog hoping to kayak around the lake, so that is on us. The employee at the office was 100% a jerk. I asked hows the fishing? He said there are fish in the lake. Definitely not a people person, other than his negativity it was a blast.Get Outdoors Paddlesports saved the trip, they had a demo day and we were able to try multiple kayaks with our dog!
Get outdoors and paddle had a kayak demo day there it was really fun.
Called today, and it sounds a little expensive for commoners to use a kayak or canoe on this beautiful lake. These are my thoughts. If you want healthier people and more revenue, charge a modest fee perhaps per hour. Poor people deserve healthy spots to enjoy the outdoors. Being in nature translates into fewer meds. This makes for a healthy society. Again, these are my thoughts. Think, Win-Win-Win Situation.
Nice place for kayaking. You can also rent kayak from here with only $12.
I visit here every weekend for the great hiking trails. Beautiful lake and even better in the spring when the purple martins are nesting!
I went kayaking for the first time and it was exhilarating. The staff werr extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. They have Kayak, Canoe, Stand up Kayak, bike, & nature trails available.
