Great dining experience and service! The food was absolutely delicious and really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant.My girlfriend and I each did the 3 course meal for $59. I started off with the Heirloom Tomato Caesar. It was delicious, but fairly small. For the entrée, we both had the NE Halibut and it was incredible. Very buttery and tasty! Pictured for dessert are the Rosemary Olive Oil Cake and the Crème Fraiche Panna Cotta. Both very good as wellIt was a great dining experience and while I enjoyed it, I gave it 4 -stars because the portion sizes were pretty small for paying $200 for dinner. The value just wasnt quite there. Everything else was great!

White & Wood is a hidden gem that gives you high-end culinary dishes with a local hometown feel. Had a strong selection of drinks with some unique cocktails that are worth a try.The food at this place was extremely flavorful. Felt like everything was made from scratch and the dish plating added to the overall experience.Would recommend the NE Halibut in a heartbeat. Fresh ingredients, exceptional flavor profile, and dont be surprised if you fully clear your plate on this dish. It was that good. Would definitely recommend and would head back there when Im in Greensboro again.

In my opinion, this is the only restaurant in Greensboro that is truly fine dining. The prices reflect that, but the wine list here is unmatched. The service is impeccable and the addition of the outside dining has added extra space, which is nice. They try really hard to make sure you are happy. Perfect for girls night or date night!

The presentation is truly inviting and definitely gets your hopes up for what you’re about to experience. I enjoyed my entrée the most. My friend’s food looked delicious, as well. I mean you can see for yourself. He cleaned his plate. I took a couple of my lamb chops home and they were just as good the next day. My mushrooms were amazing. I have a restricted diet and was so pleased with how patient the chef was with me. I also felt special because they had to create something just for me, and it was amazing! The dessert, on the other hand, wasn’t so exciting but at least it looked pretty.

We went here as a celebration dinner and were impressed with our entire experience. The ingredients are high quality and extremely flavorful. We will definitely be back for special occasions and nice date nights!

Wonderful food and friendly, attentive staff! Upscale without feeling pretentious. We had the chefs choice charcuterie, the burger, the corn chowder, and beef tartare. Everything was top notch! Highly recommend!

We were here for the New Years dinner. Pricey, but well worth it. Not only was the food spectacular, but the show was great as well! Would recommend to anyone, the menu had something for just about everyone and the three courses were beautifully presented.

Wife and I went there for our 25th anniversary this evening. The service and attention was truly the best we have had in years. Food was excellent and out of the ordinary but in a thoughtful and delicious way. You know its good when there is a flurry of passing plates and bowls around the table. Literally checking the calendar for the next opportunity to visit. White and Wood was the perfect place for this special occasion, thanks to the entire staff!

My partner and I came here during restaurant week and had a great experience. He had been here before and talked up the service. Needless to say they lived up to my high expectations, which may have indirectly come from his raving. The service was timely and our server was very friendly. He refilled our waters promptly, and we drank a lot of water since it was a hot day. We both tried the duck confit, but ordered different desserts. I ordered the olive oil cake and he ordered the peach tart. The duck was cooked well. It was not too oily and had a great flavor. The ricotta gnocchi was fantastic. It seemed to melt in my mouth. Both the olive oil cake and the peach tart were delicious. The basil ice cream that came with the peach tart was fantastic. We will definitely come back again.

Fair restaurant, walked in last night with my hat and sneakers servers acted and talked a little down to me which is fine but got a bad vibe, ordered appetizer and left to go to Fleming’s. LOL 😂 if that’s fine dining you got a long way to go. Not about price!!!

This was an amazing treat, Im someone who will not spend money on myself for a higher class meal from an establishment such as this, I was forced to for social obligations and had been served the bbq ribs as a part of a 3 course meal and had all thoughts of the meals cost wiped from my mind. (Its pricey). Will I come here regularly probly not. I would however treat this menue as a reward or complement to any special event or date. I was wowed by every moment and every bite.

The waitress was rude and unprofessional. Luckily she handed us off to a manager and he was able to salvage the evening. If you are going to open a high-end restaurant train your staff if not on service at least to be kind! The food was great and the drinks amazing. Hopefully they work the kinks out and stop acting pretentious. Cheers!

Overall, the food was good. However, it did not quite meet my expectations for a fine dining restaurant. They were doing some three course meal specials which we ordered. I had the brussel sprout salad. The candied walnuts were delicious but it was over dressed. I ordered a filet mignon cooked medium. They gave me one that was quite well done. I did not want to send it back because it took about an hour for us to get our food. I could tell that the cut of meat was good but the steak had no pink in it whatsoever. It was a bit disappointing. However, the crispy potatoes on the plate were the best thing I had there. They are delicious! I had the creme brulee for dessert and overall, it was solid. The vanilla bean really came out in it.I would be willing to come back to try some other things. However, it did not quite give me the expensive fine dining restaurant that I thought it would be. The server was okay and did a good job with refills and keeping the tables clean. I did not find him to be particularly friendly, but that didnt bother me. Also, my mom ordered a glass of wine that cost around $17. I do not think it was worth that price. I think this restaurant is going to have a hard time competing with local GSO staples like Green Valley Grill.

We came to this beautiful restaurant today, and I have to write reviews as you must go here! The food was incredible! The service was the beginning at ever Astin and Kaio took care of us. When you make a reservation, ask for Astin and get a table at the Kaio section.The menu is excellent we loved it, the best restaurant in this area. The fix menu is Fantastic!

Feel badly as we are just rating after countless exceptional experiences. They’ve effectively curated a great experience from atmosphere to team and ownership interaction. We are proud to have this couple, and these great professionals in our town. And.....I’m not typing this after my series of wine and cocktails that I usually have there. Great work guys!

They have made a name for themselves with a unique wine list, extensive charcuterie, and imaginative seasonal dishes. Now they have outdone themselves by creating a little oasis on Elm with their European-style “streetery” complete with planter walls and umbrellas. The best part of the experience is still Jake though...he and his team provide outstanding Recommendations and service every time we visit!

Its always a delicious experience when we dine here. Looking forward to our next meal!

Excellent food and cocktails. Unique selection of gin

First off best food i have every had second of all it started to rain and the waiters literally held up umbrellas for me and my party because there wasnt room in the building best experience of my life.

Then we had the seafood bouillabaisse that did not disappoint. The scallops were seared to perfection. The pasta was tasty though it was a little cold but tasted very good. We like spicy food so we did not mind it but be aware that this dish is on the spicy side. I want to mention that the cocktails were very good as well. I definitely Recommend this place.

So much to love about this fantastic little restaurant in Greensboro. The entire staff- host, server, bartender, chef- made us feel welcome. Best seats are at the long bar which overlooks the open, micro-kitchen where they do all the cooking. Perfect for chatting with the talented and personable staff. Everything we ordered was beautiful and delicious- even the plates are lovely!

Have been going to bay front for many years. The owners are wonderful, friendly people. The food is a decent price and tastes scrumptious. I highly recommend eating there you wont be sorry. The bay surrounds it along with other businesses. Kid friendly and reservations taken also. Come on over and try their fish fries..tasty.

Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with our experience here. It was our first time, and I really expected a great night. Before we got our entrees one of the staff spilled wine on both of my friends. Her husband had to leave without eating because he needed to wash his suit. They didnt refill the wine that was spilled. They were out of two out of their six dinner entrees. I ordered the lamb chops ($34) since I couldnt get the Chilean sea bass. I got two chops that were on the small side and a little fatty. It was accompanied by a slab of roasted cauliflower that had a strange spicy/sweet flavor that I couldnt appreciate. Our cheese and meat plate was delicious, but service was extremely slow. It was also a little difficult to get attention for a refresher on our drinks. We dont think well be back here.

We had an amazing dinner for girlfriends birthday. Even though the waiter brought us the dessert menu and check before we even got our entree. That didnt ruin our Wonderful meal. I loved the Duck prosciutto, ahi tuna tartar, and the halibut was cooked just right.

Came in just to try something new and was very pleasantly surprised. Food was delicious and service was great. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely fantastic spot. Wifey and I haven’t been on a date in 3 months and a friend recommended this spot. We found a sitter and went. Jake the owner bought us some champagne. I called to make a reservation bc they are doing a soft opening due to Covid. They checked our temperature at the door. Every other table was empty for social distancing. They took every precaution necessary in order to ensure our safety. Service was spectacular. My wife had a mojito that was to die for. Fresh mint lime the works. We both ordered the halibut. JJ or Jason was our waiter and he was amazing at helping and guiding us through the menu. They have an app where it pops up on your phone and he helped us make the proper decision and it did not disappoint. It was nice to get out and have a date with my wife and this place really hit the spot. I’m glad Jake allowed us to come and he showed us a tremendous amount of hospitality. We will continue to support this local spot in the future. The interior has a warm and inviting ambiance topped off with an artistic rendition of Yoko Ono of all people.

As a person who loves to cook, this place is fantastic. Perfectly prepared meal. But better yet the kitchen is in the dining area so you can see and smell every dish cooking.

The scallops were amazing! Everything we ordered was hot and fresh and perfectly seasoned! We will be back over and over! Carlos was the best server ever!

Had our second visit Wednesday. Was actually better than the first five star visit. Why this place isnt packed all the time is beyond me...

My group of four adults goes to the theater once every few months and we try a different restaurant in Greensboro each time, this one was a disappointment. The service was not bad just a bit slow and the restaurant is very clean. Very overpriced and out of a lot of items. We ordered three drinks, two salads, two cheeseburgers, one halibut and one seafood and pasta dish. The cheeseburgers were bland not seasoned at all. The Caesar salad was fishy. The halibut and the seafood dish were very good. They did not have the peach salad that we wanted to try, no bread offered, one of the signature drinks had to substitute out the main alcohol, they offered zero menu specials. The two lemon drop drinks were undrinkable, The manager attempted to fix them but they still were terrible, we just didn’t want to be rude so we didn’t ask for a different drink. At the end of the night we received a bill which is very confusing but was correct. This is one restaurant I will never go back to. For the amount of money we spent there are many other options that we have been to and will go to again

Atmosphere says it all. If you want a great place to visit with friends and also have a nice meal, this is the place. Refined and creative. New and unique. First class wines and Charcuterie. Very Fresh and Classy. Bartender knows his stuff and staff is very knowledgeable about their menu and features.

Lots of attention to the bar and appetizers, but not so much to the rest of the menu. I have been here twice and found the food underwhelming. Latest order was a crab and gnocchi (which they misspell on the menu) dish which was very under seasoned and tasted like raw cream. We also tried the grilled cheese which was soggy on one side. The dish came with an arugula salad on the side, which would have been a refreshing break, but somehow tasted like salt had been dumped on it. While the cheese and cured meats plates make for a nice appetizer, the limited entrees, which focus more on presentation than on taste have left me disappointed more than once. I would expect more focus on the food for this price level.

I went there for my birthday And after about 30 minutes our waiter finally took our order. We then noticed other people sitting down eating,, and leaving and we had yet to be served. Now well over an hour into our evening, Our waiter who had hardly checked on us came to the table and said for some reason there was a mix up on our order. The head chef came out and apologized and assured us it would be worth the wait. We received 1 small desert for a table of 5. We then had to ask for our checks And when we left I noticed we were only minutes shy of an 3 hour experience. Ive waited several weeks before writing this, and havent decided if we will give them another chance,, But we were extremely underwhelmed with how the situation was handled.

Very creative menu selections!!! Staff was outstanding and very accommodating, we started as a table of four but quickly grew to 11 on (Sat) of folk festival weekend. High quality offerings of food and beverage -and considering such- I think their prices are quite reasonable. I look forward to my next visit!

Tried White and Wood for the first time and agree with other reviews that the food is overpriced and underwhelming. I ordered the gnocchi and crab and it was just ok. What really got my goat was when I asked if they could substitute Brussels sprouts in place of asparagus which came with the dish. The server came back and said the chef kindly declined. Really? For the prices being charged, I would think a simple substitution like that to make a customer happy would be a no-brainer. Guess not. So I will kindly not return to your restaurant.

Very COOL place! Greensboro has really been missing this kind of innovative dinning experience as it becomes a global city. The food is fantastic, atmosphere is modern, and the wine list is ridiculous! The prices maybe higher than GREENSBORO expects, but very reasonable for what is offered!

We had a couple drinks to start, appetizers of oysters, cheese board, salad and beef tartar. Our main course was a filet mignon and a Fishermans Stew Bouillabaisse. All of the food was wonderful. The service was very excellent - our waiters were very friendly and attentive. We would have loved to try a dessert but we just were too full!

White and Wood has the best burger anywhere. And their cocktails are amazing.

Met here for drinks with some friends. We are glad we dressed nicely as it is an upscale place. The cocktails and food were delicious! We had the meat and cheese plates. Really liked the decor and lighting as well.

Im torn on this review.(I rarely make one) I suppose first off youre better off having a reservation for dinner. I didnt expect it to be so narrow, but it was comfortable, and very neat. When we sat down the waiter seemed out of breath and didnt do much talking. Seemed very rushed and uncordial with us. It took about 30 minutes after our waters to ask if wed like to order any wines or appetizers. Then it took even longer for him to take our main course order. After it took so long for the order I was starving and was hoping for something quick to prepare, so I choose the crab cake and cannellini soup. Our oysters were delicious, and tasty. But the server had thrown the plate at my fiance. I thought it was accidental, until he threw down another one. We got a weird vibe by him all night. He seemed to be very friendly to the other customers, besides us. My crab cake, unfortunately was chard on the bottom, was disappointed because the soup itself was good. --- Overall everything on the menu seemed very delicious, and its a beautiful restaurant. We are just disheartened by the service, or lack of, in our case. Wanted to find a regular spot, since our beloved restaurant, Table 16 shut down. Disappointed.

Since the day owner Jake arrived, Ive been infatuated with the amazing culinary and service experience at White and Wood. From the diverse cheese plates to the unique wine list, W&W has the most unexpected offerings. Ive loved introducing friends and clients to the ingenuity of this place and look forward to my weekly visits.

My wife and I decided to go to White and Wood for our two year anniversary and it could not have gone any better!Right when we walked in our server greeted us by congratulating us on our anniversary and immediately sitting us at the perfect table for our reservation. When we sat down we were thrilled to see they had a list full of spectacular specials that conveniently applied to all the food we knew we wanted in the first place, including $30 bottles of Rose and a $30 chefs choice cheese/meat board! We ordered both to start... but before we could get to those they surprised us by giving us both a complimentary glass of champagne! The rest of our experience continued on that same level of supreme service as our glasses were always filled and the food was always on time.This was our first experience at White and Wood but between the cheese board, the BURGER(wow!), and the Duck Confit, there is no doubt we will be back again soon. Their staff made our day that much more special and I can imagine they would do the same for anybody elses celebration dinners. And okay Ill say it... even with Hops in town... this might be the BEST BURGER IN TOWN!

I ate here twice during a recent trip to Greensboro. The wine list is premium and they have one of my favorite American sparkling wines available by the glass, Roederer Estate. They also offer a selection of entree salads I recommend as well as a beef tartare. Juan is an awesome bartender so I suggest just dining at the bar for the best service.

The first time my partner and I came to White and Wood we just popped in to share a dozen oysters. Our server was extremely well mannered and made us very comfortable.Let me just say that the oysters with their in house hogwash marinade is the most delightful morsel of food I have ever experienced.They have a phenomenal wine and cocktail menu but we decided to not indulge on our first visit. I felt very at ease with only purchasing a single appetizer. The server didnt make us feel pressured to spend any more which was nice.Our second visit was almost unimaginably better than the first. The oysters were a bit sweeter but still the most enjoyable item Ive ever ordered at a restaurant. I really cant emphasize this enough. Order the oysters!!! Weve only tried them raw but next time Ill also try them roasted.On Mondays their legendary burger is only 10 dollars. They grind the burgers from filet mignon and ribeye and the experience is unique. I would describe it as being able to taste the air in the meat because they were so freshly ground.This is my favorite restaurant in the world and if you go at half price oyster hour and enjoy their weekly specials you can really get bourgeois on a budget.5 stars isnt nearly enough.

When we arrived, we were seated right away with our reservation, however it took 10 minutes before anyone came to greet us at the table. I had to call over the manager to ask if we had a server and give her our drink order. A serve then came over, poured us water, and walked away. No introduction. That same girl came back with drinks eventually, but they were wrong.We ordered the chefs 5&5 meat and cheese selection. It was pretty good and the portions were a good size. We also ordered a few salads- which were terrible. Over dressed, and one, with duck, was way over cooked, unedible. As the server came back around, she never asked how things were, or how we were doing. She didnt even ask why we didnt touch our salads.Overall, for the price of the meal, the service was terrible and the food was just okay. When I eat at a place where I spend over $100 for 2 people, I expect a certain level of service, which just wasnt there. We probably wont go back.
