Love this place. They have an amazing comic collection. Not to mention some pretty cool used and new Marvel Legends and some other collectable toys!!

Prices on back issues high compared other shops in town and online(even with the buy 5 get 1 free deal). Was not welcoming atmosphere like other shops have gone to as walked in no one greeted me or asked if could help me.

Not impressed. More like a trendy store then a true comic store, but hey if thats what you like thats whats here. The Young lady working was very nice and greeted me upon arriving, but the atmosphere wasnt there and was very stale, and selection of back issues was mediocre at best. However they did have some great choices of tunes playing...but I was there for back issues and to lock in a home comic store not what felt like a chain comic store. To be fair, they had many new hip titles and all new types of issues and large quantities of such, so if you want just a standard comic dispensary with all the new stuff then this would probably do for you. Id give it 2 stars, but I dont feel I had a bad experience (actually there was no experience...) so I gave it 3.

Its good; good selection of comics and funkos and figurines. The staff is helpful and friendly and they play some good music. Five stars.

Im currently not having a positive customer service experience. Store claims to open at 11am and they are closed at 11:20am.

Stopped in for the first time today and was completely blown away! The comic selection is huge, plus a bunch of figurines and merch. Very chill atmosphere and good taste in music. Also the girl with the yellow flower facemask was super kind and helpful when checking us out even though it was almost closing time. Well be coming back!

Wow. Ssalefish Comics is the real deal. I was on holiday with my family and wanted to check out the comic scene in Greensboro and after visiting a couple other shops I came to Ssalefish. Im not really a write reviews person, but they earned it! So here. we. go.First - great environment: clean, easy to move around, & well-lit.Second - great selection (I went to town on their back issues) at reasonable prices (like actually reasonable, I could go on and on here, but I think its sufficient to say their prices are incredibly competitive). If you make fair offers for some of their higher priced books they will consider them in a friendly way. (Its like they actually want to sell their comics)Finally - The staff. Professional, friendly, courteous. No air of superiority here, just calm, cool, and relaxed all day. Cheers all around. You all rock.Get out your pen and paper, Ssalefish comics is running a clinic on best business practices.5 Stars, A+, Recommended, excelsior, etc, etc, etc.I will be back.

Great place, friendly staff, definitely the home for me to get comic books from in the city. Theres not an air of superiority like some of the other comic shops Ive been to recently. They have great suggestions of comics to get into and they have a very orderly pre-order system.

Reviewing a comic book store can be tough bc its only real requirement is to have comics but Ssalefish has that X factor so to speak. Its clean, almost sterile-like appearance make it a joy to be in. Gone are the days of your local shop smelling like a dank Venetian basement that is sure to stir up the delicate nostrils of even the most hardy page turning geek. (I mean me... Lets be honest though...and probably you). Fun, educated, and helpful staff are a bonus but even more fun is the stores mascot... Stop in, I guarantee youll find something.

Incredible place! My friend and I had stopped in today after hearing about the store. The owner, Jay, greeted us and was fantastic when I purchased my comic. The store has an amazing variety of comics and has a neat inventory of other things. I will definitely be back!

This was a nice comic book store. It was in a good location, had a fairly large selection and lots of collectibles. The only thing missing for me was a little bit of personability. It may have just been because of the midnight release though.

A good selection of comics, games, and toys...it was like walking down my childhood memory lane. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable and there is an awesome French Bulldog that greets everyone through the door with a wagging tail.

Staff is nice. However, this place Makes you pay extra for variant covers. Never will go back. Want a good comic store with reasonable prices that doesnt charge extra for a variant go to Parts Unknown.

The staff are so informative and very helpful. I came in looking for a certain genre and left with 3 different graphic novel series and so far love each one and cant wait to get started on the next installments.

Two of the kindest and most sincere guys in the business run this incredibly clean and well kept shop. If you ever have a chance to stop through, do it! These two are a blast to talk shop with, and keep up with everything from Marvel/DC to some of the most obscure indies you can think of.

I do NOT recommend this store to anyone. They regularly markup newly released non-limited comics past their normal prices (B/C covers etc…), and actual limited variants such as 1:10 1:25 are also consistently overpriced as well. First one in the door on new comic day and they just happen to be “missing” the hot variant out that week. There is also apparently an unwritten rule on grabbing two copies of a comic that only applies to certain people whenever the store clerk feels like it. Wall books are highly overpriced and back issues are severely lacking. Oh, and forget about selling your comics here, their offers to me have been 1/3 or less the going price of a book. I suggest taking your business elsewhere.

One of the worst comic shops to do business with online. The owner led me to believe something that wasnt true, gave me the run-around, and flat out scammed me. Thats in addition to sending me a jacked-up comic that I paid good money for.I pre-ordered a limited variant set of Batman 50 comics. Two sets actually. One of the virgin covers had a bad crease from top to bottom, down the middle of the back cover. I contacted Bret Parks (the owner) at Ssalefish Comics to inform him of the issue. He offered a refund, but I wanted a replacement. He told me to send it back, which I did. The next thing I know Im getting a refund for $16.66 to my PayPal account. I contacted him and reminded him that I requested a replacement, not a refund. He told me he only had a couple left, and that they were messed up as well. I said that Id prefer to have the comic back, rather than $16 (as I could have it pressed), and he then told me he sold it. I asked if he could send me one of the others from the set and have his $16 back and he told me that I could go to the website and purchase one.Pre-order cost of set: $50Cost of set now: $75Comic 1: limited to 3000Comic 2: limited to 1500Comic 3: limited to 1000So my 16.66 refund was based on the $50 original cost, and the number of copies made was not taken into consideration. I returned comic 3, the most valuable one, but I received a refund that did not reflect this.Refund amounts should have been as follows :Comic 1: $10Comic 2: $15Comic 3: $25But then the pre-sale prices are now gone and the  current set sells for $75 (a 50% increase). Current prices:Comic 1: $20Comic 2: $30Comic 3: supposedly no longer available.So with my refund ($16.66) for the rarest book in the set, I cant even buy the cheapest comic in the set.During our email communications, I was very polite, flexible, and attempted to work things out from multiple angles. But Brets final response was If I wanted a comic, then I could go to the website and buy one.Not a good way to do business, but a great way to lose a customer for life. Anyhow, please be warned if youre thinking about doing business with this company online, especially if youre buying a limited set.

Cleanest, most modern, comic book store Ive seen.

Ok so I travel for work a lot and have visited so many comic shops that they tend to become the same. I decided to visit this location for the Midnight release of Batman #50 to grab the awesome Josh Middleton variant package as I was a big fan of their DK111 Master race variant. Got to the location after an almost 3 hour drive and my hopes were high this was going to be a great experience. Not even remotely close to being let down. The store was clean, organized and well lit. The staff was extremely energetic and helpful. I purchased around $120 worth of new stuff related to the Wedding including a very well priced 3 pack exclusive variant.The line was a little long and took a bit to get thru but again well worth it as the Variant pack was absolutely beautiful and again very well priced at $50 for all three books. That alone would be enough for a great visit but I decided to put my stuff in my car and come back in to go thru some back issues of Batman. I found a back isssue that was not marked and they sold it to me for a more then fair price along with me picking up 2 Master race variants at a great deal. What I have found more often In comic book stores across the country is they will try to squeeze every nickel out of you and never worry about building a long term relationship. The managing partners at this location get what they do and you can tell for them it is about building that costumer relationship for the long term. I also ended up meeting some really great people who use them as their LCS and again the vibe was the best I have experienced in a shop. I will 100% make sure In my work travels to stop in and purchase from them again, pet the two awesome doggies and follow them online. Thanks Ssalefish Comics for making that night a Great Bat-experience and keep doing what you do!!!!
