I took my grand daughter to Carolina Dancewear this morning for a new pair of pointe shoes. As always, great customer service and a variety of different shoes to insure a proper fit. We drive the 30 miles to Carolina Dancewear because they always have what we need. A great place to purchase dance items. A+++++

Great place for dance wear, shoes and accessories. They assist with everything, which is great for shoes. They even do special fitting for pointe ballet shoes. There is a great selection of merchandise and the staff is very helpful. Ive shopped here several times and always been a happy customer.

Its a bummer to have to go all the way to Greensboro for dance supplies. However I have to say that the helpful, friendly, informative staff and plentiful dance supplies make it worth it! Pricey, but not a whole lot higher priced than what Ive seen online and good quality.

I came to Carolina Dancewear all the time when I lived in North Carolina, and now that I moved to Georgia, I still call and have them ship dance shoes to me! The employees are very knowledgeable, because they are all previous dancers, so they can answer any questions I have, and they are always very willing to research things they do not know. I have always been very pleased with their quick and courteous service.

We live long distance from Carolina Dancewear and most of my interaction with them has been over the phone. Every time I call, the staff has been friendly and helpful.They mail my order promptly and I am pleased every time.I appreciate their willingness to accommodate phone orders since its difficult for me to drive all the time.

I was extremely shocked at how unprofessional and rude they were! I’ve never dealt with a business that didn’t want to stand by their product and lie! I ordered my daughters clogging shoes, we live over 2hrs away, she wore the shoes for 3 hrs and the whole tap fell off! Which shoulda never happened for a brand new product anyway.. nationals are one week away and my daughter has no shoes . The girl told me if I sent them back they would send me a new pair .. when they got the shoes back she then tells me they have to send those to their shoe repair guy and wait on them to be fixed! So now I’m out of a $100 and have no shoes for my daughter to wear to the biggest competition of the year! Will never ever do business with them again!! Even worse 3 other girls from studio ordered their shoes from there also and the taps fell off! We all had to pay for repairs at the competition. Completely unacceptable

I took my daughter to get character shoes and my mom ended up purchasing dance shoes for herself. She and my father still ballroom dance but could never find shoes that worked for her. After many years of suffering through uncomfortable street shoes- she has found her nirvana! And can hardly wait until the next next tea dance!! This place is the MOST helpful store! I wasnt sure what shoes to purchase for my acting class, and they helped direct me to the right style. There were several choices- and several pricing options- and they pulled out many pairs to get the right fit and style. This is the place to go!! 5 stars all around!

Everyone is always so friendly at this store. They always have what we are looking for. I appreciate the patience of the staff when working with the dancers to find the right pair of pointe shoes.The first time my daughter went, she wasnt sure what they were supposed to really feel like, but this past time she did and was able to have an extra special experience with the staff member discussing exactly what she was wanting from her second pair of pointe shoes. As a parent I felt confident in her purchase.

I have been shopping at Carolina Dancewear for as long as I can remember. From grade school through college. This store has the best selection and the best prices. The sales associates are very knowledgable of the products. They are always there to help with fittings or just to answer questions!

This place has all of the dance wear stuff you will need and the staff is super helpful and nice, but the prices are about double of what you pay somewhere else.

Weve purchased our daughters ballet equipment here for the last two years. Its great quality, everything lasted all season, and their prices are very reasonable.

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me and we had a very nice conversation. I am beyond happy to say that she went above and beyond to discuss my experience and from speaking with her one on one I believe that what I experienced was not the norm. I appreciate the efforts that she put forth to make everything right. That is first class customer service.I visited here on my lunch hour yesterday, after being recommended to purchase shoes for my daughters dance class. I walked in and there were two employees there and to their credit, they both were with other customers. No one said a word to me. I walked over to the shoe area and began to look around, with the assumption that someone would be over soon to help or at least acknowledge that I was there. The sign posted said to wait for assistance....so that is what I did. After standing there for 15 minutes...no one still had even bothered to speak or let me know that they would help me. At this point, I turn around to notice that one of the employees was done with the customer she was helping. She walked over to the check out counter and began to tidy up...still didnt bother to even look at me. Five minutes go by and the other employee is apparently wrapping up with her customer. She still doesnt say anything to me, until i stood directly in front of her and she had to walk right up to me while going to check on something for her customer. Her response was...we will be with you soon. Thats it...meanwhile, the other employee is just standing there...but quickly decides that she has something to do elsewhere. I guess she didnt feel up to helping me. I wait 10 more minutes without anyone bothering to provide any assistance to me. This is horrible, and honestly I have never been more disgusted at the poor level of customer service. I will NEVER recommend this location to anyone and have alerted my daughters dance company to how they treated me. At the least, an apology for waiting would have been acceptable...but to not even get any type of customer service, even after the one young lady was not with another customer is really unacceptable. I called shortly after I left to get the names of the young ladies that were there. I am happy to share that information if the owner cares enough to reach out or respond to this matter. Thankfully, I was able to get the exact things I needed from Payless. Even though I was hoping to support a local business.

The staff has been invaluable to us....My daughter began dancing well over 10 years ago and because Ive never danced, Sarah and Courtney have been priceless in her journey. Theyve patiently helped her find the right pair of Pointe shoes many times, encouraging her to understand whats right for her foot as she grew and changed. Theyve taught me many things too, helping me understand dance and dancewear from a laymens perspective. They know their stock and their suppliers, and having been dancers themselves can recommend products and discuss them intelligently with their customers.Anytime weve needed something thats not in stock, theyve gladly ordered the items for us with no down payment, no obligation to buy if it doesnt fit (as long as its not a special order), and no shipping costs if we pick up in the store. They give discounts to repeat customers up to as much as 25% off. They will ship to us if we prefer which is an awesome service as well, especially considering many of their customers attend UNCSA and live in the dorms with parents out of state.Im not sure why the studio owner in the review below is blaming the staff at Carolina Dancewear. While they have copies of local studios dress code requirements in the store as appropriate and/or available, theyre not posted anywhere. They also keep a running record of Pointe shoes purchased by each dancer as reference. Im sure if a customer came in shopping for studio specific dress code but forgot to bring their information, they could help. Of course they would let students purchase whatever they like, they are a business after all and dancers do get to wear non-dress code leos too.....my daughter has lots that she wears during rehearsals, at open classes and Summer Intensives.While the staff at Carolina Dancewear always remember their regular customers, they cant be expected to know which studio or gym everyone attends. Its clearly the customers responsibility to let them know if they are shopping for dress code leotards or for a specific item, and its clearly the studio owners responsibility to inform their students of any required dancewear.We will continue to shop for my daughters dancewear at Carolina Dancewear, even as she moves from student to professional dancer, because they offer knowledge, quality, and SERVICE with a smile. :D
