I was really excited to try Scrambled while my sister was visiting from out of town, because she said this place rocked -- however we were pretty disappointed. We had a large party, and our waitress was training someone, I believe, and so we were patient even as tables seated well after us had their food delivered before we did... but over half of the seven people we had at the table had their food delivered cold. The dishes delivered cold were biscuits and gravy, a sausage patty, traditional eggs Benedict, and a biscuit with apple butter. Im giving them a three because my mom said her corned beef hash was amazing, and they accommodated all of the allergies at the table well otherwise. The prices are a little steep, but with how close the restaurant is to UNCG, and in general, downtown Greensboro, I suppose that is to be expected.I just cant see myself returning any time soon.
Our Server was really nice; however, he was either too forgetful, had too many tables to service or was new. My mother-in-law said her food was okay. She had some type of three egg omelette. My husband said the service (slowness of getting our food and missing food) was so bad her couldn’t remember if the food was good or not. He had quiche & potatoes.I had french toast bacon and scrambled eggs w/cheese and a triple mixed berry juice. The bacon was perfect to my liking. The French toast was not that good. The puréed strawberry & maple syrup for the toast was very good though. The eggs & mixed berry drink was decent. We got blueberry & chocolate chip muffins that looked store bought but I haven’t tasted those yet. We were there yesterday for brunch.
Scrambled is incredibly good. You cant go wrong with the corned beef hash...it is out of this world and worth the drive from anywhere. The wait is totally worth it. The service incredible and every bite delicious to the very last. If you want a great breakfast or brunch spot in Greensboro, Scrambled it it!
I love fried green tomatoes, they had 3 different ways you could order them on their menu Oh!!! they were excellent!!! We got several different dishes. The food was delicious. I cant wait to go back. It was very full and busy but it was worth the wait everything seemed to run very smooth and calm Everyone was very nice the atmosphere was great. 🎯💯
Absolutely delicious. I ordered the fried green tomato Benedict and it was so yummy!! I also got a waffle that was 10/10. They had several gf and vegetarian options on the menu as well! Our server Brooke was so sweet and I will absolutely be coming here again! Would highly recommend to anyone as a top tier brunch spot in Greensboro!
On my way in, I asked two ladies that were leaving how it was. They both gave an unethusiastic okay. I lowered expectations at that point. The coffee was pretty good. The cornbeef hash with eggs over-easy was okay. Nice portion size. Helped by a heavy dose of Texas Petes. The biscuit was just as it looks. Kinda burned on the outside. The bartenders overuse of an empty friends had me cringing by the end. They did have wifi.
Had the fried chicken because it was Thursday. Got salad instead of mac. My princess finished most of her waffle platter before I got some pictures off. Some of the best collards I’ve had and absolutely fresh fried chicken. Had the Honey Mustard dressing on my salad and it was quite flavorful without being overpowering.Bonus: Boylan’s sodas and CheerwineWe were here close to closing so there was no wait, regardless, the food was quickly out and exceeded expectations.
Disappointing experience. We ordered carry out to avoid the crowds. We were told our order wasnt ready when we arrived five minutes early. However, rather than being given our order when it was complete, it was left to sit while we continued to wait. Fifteen minutes after our order was promised, we were given out waiting order. Ordering was not a seamless process, but we maneuvered that as well. Pancakes are huge. The bacon is tough, and not worth the cost ($4 for three slices). Parking is offered but the lot was a heavily rutted gravel lot. One aspect of this encounter went smoothly. We had no difficulty paying online for our takeout order.
It is rare during the past couple years to find a restaurant that is fun to go to. There is an overall attitude that is positive. Very easy to start a conversation with new and interesting people. There is never any friction or attitudes from the staff. They all seem happy and eager to please. All the food that I have eaten there is prepared well and tastes good. Being in a happy place like the Market Square and at Scrambled is a good place to be to start your day.
The cook did an amazing job which the fried g chicken!. It was cook fo perfection . I like the late 70-90s vibes /atmosphere. The customer services is awful I wouldn’t dine here again !. The hostess never greeted us, just asked how many in our party . The first server we had it seem like her first day . It was very windy outside and everything kept flying off the table . We were able to change tables and we appreciated that greatly . My meal came out incorrect, we didn’t any water refills and server checked on us maybe once or twice . We just paid and tip then left . I would recommend dining at this restaurant.
There is limited parking and it gets busy quick!!! The food was delicious! We did have to wait a little for the food after we ordered but it was worth it. Good service.
We ate a late lunch here and it was busy - mostly breakfast food but we had fried chicken - mine was good but my gf got a RAW chicken breast - the mgmt did a lot to appease us make us happy cooked a new chicken breast we took to go IT WAS RAW TOO!! So anyway they have some serious staffing issues it seems the food could be good tho if you can risk it !
Outstanding food and service. Might want to try and call ahead or get to the restaurant early in the morning because the wait does get pretty long.
Definitely a 5 star experience here. Service was excellent, food was fantastic.Ive been wanting to go here for over 2 years and have put it off for so long because the wait is ALWAYS an hour or longer. But! I now know why. I fought through the hour long wait and the food was so worth it. It was absolutely delicious!I got a Carmel Latte and the Chicken Little eggs benedict. It was absolutely worth the 2 year wait to try the place out, and the hour long wait today. Will definitely be coming back again.
Waffle is fantastic and so are the cheese grits... everything else I could make better at home (eggs and country ham)... the coffee was DELICIOUS and the staff was incredible! Such a cool hangout. We had a great first visit!
Happened upon this place while looking for breakfast on a weekday during a road trip. It appears to be a very popular neighborhood breakfast spot with a highly diverse clientele and waitstaff. The food was southern breakfast standards with some unique and delicious twists. Our waiter was attentive, the coffee never empty, and the food wonderful. Clearly the kitchen staff are gifted cooks with deft hands when it comes to omelets, biscuits and waffles.
We went around 1:00 and they are still serving breakfast! The food was excellent except the biscuits were dry. The service was excellent!
Love this place! Portions seemed smaller tho. Enjoyed the mimosas as always. Staff great!
Stopped in and got breakfast, everything was excellent. Place was packed at 11AM, had a hard time finding parking but I was able to get sat right away so dont let the parking lot deter you if its full. Both indoor and outdoor seating available as well as a bar. You wont regret stopping in.
A wonderful experience for me and my daughter! Our bartender, (Brock) I believe thats his name was wonderful! Drinks were amazing, food was delicious!! Well definitely be back!! Shrimp n grits, waffle, breakfast platter, bloody Mary, coffee, lemonade, mimosa..yea our 1st time here and you all didnt disappoint!:)
My sister and I had the most wonderful meal here! We were so stuffed...good thing we made the mile long walk there and back!I had the Three Little Pigs skillet with hash browns and eggs sunny side up. Absolute perfection! Oh, and a biscuit that was bigger than a baseball. My sister had a pancake that was larger than a pie plate, along with scrambled eggs, cheesy grits, and bacon. She couldnt eat it all and I couldnt help her.Our server was friendly and attentive. She and the rest of the team kept our coffee cups full of delicious hot coffee. (Note: I had mine black because they dont have stevia.) The entire staff was fully masked inside and out.We were fortunate to have gotten there when we did (around 8:45 am) because when we left around 10 the place was packed inside out with people waiting!Do not go without an appetite!
Ive attempted to eat here on multiple occasions and in all except one case there was a ridiculous wait. Recently I had the pleasure of dining at the location. It was just okay. Im not sure what the big fuss is about this place. I maybe missed something. The bartender was awesome however. Got some good laughs in with the guy.
The food is worth the wait but expect a lengthy wait. Service was just ok because they brought 5 guests meals separately. Price is very affordable.
I love this place. Its an excellent breakfast brunch spot. Havent had chance to try their drinks but food is top notch. Prices and portions match. Might be little pricier but quality and quantity make up for it.
Parked all the way in the back lot,, and Arrived inside this place at exactly 12:07 and was dining alone, so I got a seat immediately. I placed my order for my meal about 12:18 and waited patiently for my meal. 12:3p the dressing for my salad arrived. 12:50 I asked the waiter Liam where my food was and he went to check. Its now 12:57 and I decided to leave. I had no food. He offered to box it up. If I wanted take out, I wouldve ordered take out. I watched as people ordered their food, ate, and then leave. This was very upsetting, but I will leave 2 stars only because the waiter and hostess where very pleasant. How can you forget about your customers???!! Food looked really good, but this is the first and last time I will try somewhere new.
We loved eating here! Definitely will be back. You only need on pancake and the cheese grits are AWESOME. Kinda small inside eat outside ig.
The food was great but my mimosa tasted like boiled hot dog water. When I asked the waitress if i could have it remade because the drink was gross. She proceeds to roll her eyes and re-made my drink to the half way point instead of to the full top all though I didnt drink that much from it.
You have not treated yourself well until you have come to enjoy this Southern pot of gold! You havent had breakfast, lunch or dinner until youve had Scrambled! High end vibe in a down to earth spot. And Oh, yeah...they have a bar. Hats off to the Chefs! The Vibe of Greensboro!!!
Love this place until I came by myself and the host refuses to seat me-given its not busy whatsoever- which is rare but I had to literally tell the host that I really needed a table outside before my friend got there so it wouldnt be taken! She refused, sat the people just coming in before me, and all of a sudden changes her mind..?? Idk but never heard that rule before whilst waiting for my company.. Other than that the waitress was super nice and friendly and food good as always!
Visited this place during a recent trip to Greensboro. I had high hopes for this place, but it turned out much less delightful than expected. Wait staff was inattentive and disorganized. I had to wait an inordinate amount of time for basic items like utensils to be made available. The best thing I can say about the food was that it was edible. I definitely cannot say that it was a memorable or enjoyable breakfast.
My overall experience was good. The menu is good for a restaurant of their nature (eclectic). I would have liked to see more vegetarian options but the ones available look good. We came on a day with an expected wait time but it took quite a bit longer than necessary. There were constant empty tables and a long line of hungry people asking why. The service was fantastic, although, we sat at the bar so that is expected. I will definitely be trying this restaurant again!
This spot is a little slice of Southern heaven. I recommend this spot for breakfast.
Very delicious! Wonderful customer service!👏 I would just suggest they put a sign on the side door indicating its the front entrance. My family and many others walked to the front of the restaurant thinking it was the front door. Other than that, everything was great. Will definitely be returning.😌
Scrambled is absolutely delicious!!! I took my papá for the first time and he definitely enjoyed the diner experience! No wait, it was not humid/hot inside.I would suggest better parking! But other than that I give 5 stars for the food and experience!!!
Great food, great ambiance, great wait staff. I cant really find anything bad to say about this place. We have been here twice, I have had a waffle and a custom skillet both were good. My husband had the chicken and waffle and an omelet both of those were also good. Apple butter is delicious on their biscuits.
Scrambled has a 3-text waitlist setup, which is great (in theory). First text verifies youre on the list. Second text alerts you that your table is almost ready. Third text says your table is ready and you have 5 minutes to check in or your spot is lost. Upon checking in, our party of 8 was told itd be an hour to an hour fifteen minute wait which is completely expected when going to Scrambled on a weekend. After an hour and ten minutes, we got the second text telling us our table was almost ready so we headed back to the restaurant and told the hostess we were there. It took an extra 45 minutes (of us waiting outside) for us to get the third text saying that our table was ready.Once we were seated, we placed our orders and then waited ANOTHER forty five minutes to get our food. One of the orders was delayed and didnt come out with the rest and then part of one order didnt come out for another fifteen minutes --- all with no apology or anything from the waitstaff. Seriously, the only thing that happened in a quick manner was having our checks put down in front of us.In addition to the slow service, the food portions were nowhere near the size that they used to be. The pancakes are still large, but the skillets seem to have been reduced by a good amount. The food is still fairly good, but the incredibly slow service and average portions dont make me want to wait three hours when going out for brunch. Just not worth it.
We love this little brunch spot. Both my husband and I were super impressed with the food here. Will definitely be returning!
The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and the wait is worth it.
Pleasantly surprised, very good environment. Nice vibe for Greensboro......wait time varies, however bring a word collect and you and your guest should be fine. Amazingly GOOD FOOD brings all cultures together under ONE roof.....
This is definitely my go to place for brunch. The breakfast food is quite tasty and is affordable—not too pricy. You can be filled leaving here. There’s a variety of breakfast food and lunch that can cater to different likings. A lot of choices to choose from. My favorite is definitely the pancakes with fruit toppings and the delicious rosemary ham. However some things may be misleading such as being aesthetically pleasing but may not taste as good as other menu items. Like the waffles, in my opinion, aren’t exactly the best I’ve had. However, the servers are quite friendly and definitely have the “southern charm” even when it gets hectic, which it often does because it’s such a great spot.
A decent dining experience. The atmosphere is great, relaxed, and inviting. Our wait was minimal but it got busy while we were there. Service was adequate, if a little slow which was understandable given the crowd. The food was decent and the portion sizes are huge. We all varied in our opinions of the food, with some interesting seasoning choices noted. Worth a visit.
My food took forever to come out, so it was cold when it finally did. I feel like it was ready but just waiting to be picked up from our waiter. The banana rum almond compote was cold and when I asked about why it wasnt warmed up, I was told that they keep the compote in the fridge. So even if my pancakr was warm, which it wasnt, they would then put the cold compote on top. Smh. The food probably wouldve been decent if it was hot but I wouldnt know.
Absolutely perfect little eatery for breakfast! We got there with a long wait, but were able to relax in a lounge and have some mimosas during our wait time. When we ended up being seated (far earlier than the quoted time) we were immediately checked on and our orders placed, despite the place being packed. Our server Jay had great suggestions and the crab cakes Benedict were to DIE FOR. The flavors, the perfect toast on the english muffin, means these folks really know their way around breakfast food.Ive been hearing about this place for years and it is worth the hype!
I had a wonderful breakfast and relaxing visit at Scrambled. The Eggs Benedict option I selected was delicious and my server, Adrian was awesome. He was very attentive and kept my coffee cup full. I highly recommend.
Had an outstanding dining experience at SCRAMBLED. The attentive and friendly staff here set the tone for the relaxed, upbeat atmosphere. The restaurant was well lit and very clean. They offer a wide variety of menu options, with daily special options and breakfast options offered all day. I tried the Night Night Scramble and Crab Cakes Benedict. Both dishes plus the accompanying cheesy grits, and biscuits were freshly made and absolutely delicious. The fruit jellies and sweet tea were spot on as well. Im looking forward to my next visit to SCRAMBLED.
My grand daughter got a kids cheeseburger and fries, it was huge and very good. This place makes the best scrambles, I had 3 pigs. Friends had flat bread, chocolate chip pancakes, waffle with bacon and eggs. Everyone took a box home and no one was disappointed except the person who ordered flat bread said there could be more toppings.
This place was amazing, we were visiting from Roanoke, VA, we looked for places to eat around the area we were staying in and Scrambled came up, so we went. Great atmosphere, great service and excellent food!!!
Food is great. Has a European type feel. Good and friendly service.
The service was good. The restaurant was hot like the AC was broken. The green eggs and ham omelette was great. The fried chicken blue plate special however was disgusting. The greens were extremely sweet, the chicken tasted like it was cooked in old grease, the mac and cheese was just bleh. I would go back again but will stick with breakfast food.
New, friendly server. Attentive staff. Good-sized portions (didnt quite finish). Limited parking, but well worth trying. Bring your mask for when youre not seated. Outdoor seating was pleasant.
Wow, what a meal... busy because seevicevis great & food is better than home cooking... A must go!
The wait is always worth it at scrambled! Best steak in the city!
Just too good for words! Relaxed vibe. Great service. Homemade jelly for massive biscuits. Fluffy pancakes that overwhelm a plate. Scrambles served in a skillet with cheesy grits (or hash browns) on the bottom with your eggs (mixed with delicious goodness) on top. Its incredible. Its amazing. The food is fantastic. Go now. Seriously ... When UNCG is in session the area is busier. Summer breakfast there is the best! Keep up the great work Scrambled!!
Really enjoyed this place. The pancakes are massive and very good. Ive been a few times and can say I will be back. Be aware it does get very busy on the weekends and long wait times.
This place did not disappoint. Went for my sisters birthday, lunch... I ordered a pancake 😋 which was ginormous 😋 and fluffy, had scrambled eggs with cheese 😋, and had grits with cheese 😋Listen........ everaythanggg was cooked to perfection. First time there, and will definitely be back!!
Crowded ; Needs more space but Great Food 👍.
Hospitality plus, our waiter was friendly and very pleasant. First time eating here, sure wont be the last!!! Food was awesome, very tasty and well worth the money!!!
45 minute wait so we are thinking this has got to be good! But it wasn’t. Quality isn’t there. Heavy and filling but not delicious. Food is just fair and we were so disappointed. Went to Lindley Park Filling Station the next weekend and had a much better experience and the food was great.
Amazing food! Always top notch, with huge portions. My only sadness is the wait time for a table. It’s always crazy there. But it’s worth the wait, just have a back up plan in case!
The bartenders are fantastic; Brandon made fantastic drinks and gave great recommendations on the menu. The fried green tomato dish with the onion jam is delicious
Mustve been an off day because we were not happy or satisfied on this visit. Our food was not prepared correctly and had to be sent back. I ordered a 7Up only to discover (by taste) that it was a generic brand. Smh
Saw this gem online and also asked a local their opinion. Their over the top response said it all so I had to try it. Its a cozy place with an excellent menu. I tried the green eggs and ham because it came highly recommended (I love chorizo). It did not disappoint. All of the food was excellent. I will definitely visit again.
We had an amazing brunch! The chicken and gravy was the best Ive ever had!
Literally, OMG was the best egg white omelet I have ever had! The menu is well thought of, the ingredients used were of quality & great presentation. Everything my family and I had was worth the wait. We will scramble our way back there the next time we visit this town.
I understand why the wait is an eternity and the lines are infinity! The food is not of this world! The pancake is light, fluffy and the circumference of a donut on a car🤣. The chicken cutlet was bursting with flavor and tenderness. The fried green tomatoes are all about southern charm with the grits as a magical accompanist💯. Pull up, grab a seat when its your turn and be transported to the days of good food, great company and stellar customer service! Been trying for 3 years to get in the door and with. #AGGIEPRIDE I finally did!
The waitress was excellent! The pancakes and Turkey sausage were dry. Hashbrowns good. I will stick with Waffle House, First Watch,Print Works, Cracker Barrel and Briggs.
The food was okay, but not worth the wait or terrible service. Im very cautious about leaving negative reviews and wait to let myself cool down before posting. This place deserves it. We were in late afternoon on a Saturday after the rush. Plenty of empty tables. Still had to wait 30 mins to be seated. We were placed against a long booth that runs the length of the dining area it was disgusting. Wait for food was long we saw it sitting in the window for sometime before it was brought to us. We had to ask for silverware that never came. Had to go get it ourselves. Had to go ask for refills on tea at the bar and had to get up and request a check. There was hair in our breakfast burrito. They remade it quickly, but egg was served slimy and undercooked we still paid for it.
