Food is good. Each visit i try something different. Not disappointed. Nice place in Greenville to cool out with ice cream. Today Im picking up Mississippi items for a friends birthday gift. She lives in Chicago I wanted to share a little bit of Mississippi

Came in for the first time eager to buy some of the meats when the older white woman kindly greeted the white couple who entered before us. But when we walked up she didn’t greet us nor did she ask if we needed help. She just looked at us with an unpleasant facial expression so we decided to leave. It absolutely sickens me to see the consistent prejudices and racism in Greenville within some of the whites. Will never visit this place again.

This place is a must see. An ice cream parlor, hot lunch line, sauces, snacks, spices and sandwiches (the Reuben was to die for).... and much more. Picked up some fresh salmon for the grill... was delicious!

I wish he would deliver out of town because I stay in Columbus, Ohio and I am losing my mind because I cant get my hands on that amazing crawfish I had down there. Please think about it. I would be your number one fan.

3 strikes, this place is out! Ive given Downtown Butcher 3 chances and its not worth my time or money. Its not terrible, but its not great either. I can make the entire menu at home...and much better! I got the Rueben sandwich on my first visit. The bottom bread was soggy/soaked with sauerkraut juice and there wasnt enough cheese in my opinion. On the 2nd visit, I got the Archer sandwich. Its a basic turkey sandwich, nothing special. My last visit, I ordered a brisket sandwich (one of the specials for that day). Wow! 3/4th inch slices of brisket..with some slices being 75% fat. It was supposed to have coleslaw on it, but it looked more like a mixture of bad lettuce and largely sliced onions. It was super weird! I think the fries are homemade, but theyre not that good and lacking flavor. My biggest problem with this place is the high prices for the average food (i.e. $5 to add chicken to a salad???). If the food was better, then Id feel better about the cost. Other than the food, the store is really cute and there are some unique finds in there.

Salad trio and burger with fries was our choice from their menu today... went looking for the hot plate lunch special but guess we were too late at 1pm to get it...When u walk in the place is a wide open shop with an ice cream counter at the entrance and a long wall with local crafts and goodies to choose from... neighbored by shelves of different specialties from sauces to rice and honey to choose from... they also have an old truck that has fresh produce avail from the sides and bed and along the back wall refrigerated homemade delicacies to choose from including pies, drinks and even a small but generous selection of adult beverages to choose from... and as you make your way across the concrete meca towards the back is the freah meat counter and small but plentiful seating area which also has a small lounge area adjacent to it...Now we werent impressed with the lunch choices that we made a bit overpriced and underwhelming as far as taste and the presentation... but the fresh meat counter although small is a welcoming addition that will definitely require another visit to try as well as more menu options to indulge in the cookies ohhhhhh the cookies 2.50 each again small for the price but delicious and worth the once in a while indulgance...Overall a place you need to visit which will no doubt keep you coming back for one treat or another
