I was really hyped up to go to this restaurant and was slightly dishearten. Dont get me wrong the food was beautiful. The flavors well thats another story, ok the salad wasnt great and the pizza was not worth $18. On the plus side, my son loved the Gelato. So that was a plus and the outside seating was cool to people watch.

More of a gelato shop than a restaurant. Very bland interior, service staff were uninspired. We all thought our meals were meh. Best item was the tomato basil eggplant soup. Scallops looked great but had no taste. Come here for the gelato only. It’s great.

We had dinner on Sunday evening while visiting from out of state. The food was good but we felt the prices/portions did not match. Mushroom caps and bruschetta were good but were not enough for 4 to share. Chicken Marsala was too salty to enjoy- perhaps heavy beef stock? Service was friendly but very slow so kick back and enjoy conversation. When we finished, we were curious about the gelato. After spending so much for dinner and thinking about a dessert we havent tried, being told we could not sample it sent us to the Marble Slat instead.

So cute! Im impressed, they are are a coffee shop, restraunt, bar, and ice cream shop all in one, its hard to do it all well but they do! Super great atmosphere, nice fall decor, classy, friendly service. I recommend!

First time at Luna Rosa, and both my husband and I loved it. Great food! A must try if you are ever in Downtown Greenville!

We stopped in for a couple of cones of gelato on a Saturday afternoon. There were so many good-looking flavors, it was hard to choose! We got two 2-scoop cones (each with 2 different flavors, which was pretty cool). The 2 employees who helped us were very friendly and did great jobs. Boy, did those cones hit the spot! Will certainly visit there again!

All elements of my dining experience were exceptional. The gelato is always tasty, but for my first time eating a meal here and visiting the bar, any expectations I had were blown away. Jeni (bartender) was very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make our experience fun, and the lasagna I ordered may have been the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!

The restaurant is clearly short staffed, however the only waitress working was very helpful and constantly checking up on us. The food was fantastic, it’s the best pasta I have ever had at a restaurant.We will definitely be returning next time we visit Greenville. The pizza and pasta cost a little more than I’d expect but it was worth the price. The gelato was also very good.

Went there to celebrate my mom on Mother’s Day with the fam. We really enjoyed it! The food was great! Not a long wait time for the food at all! Staff was well dressed! Very respectful, attentive to us and polite! Greeted us and made us feel at home! We loved it! We would definitely recommend and try again! Very cool place!

I went here for the gelato and was not disappointed. Samples are offered cheerfully and without hesitation; a practice that is standard and is a good business practice in Italy (home of gelato). Good variety of flavors and the portion sizes are good too. Ill be back!

This was the third time we ate at Luna Rosa, first time on a Saturday. Very disappointed, long wait, our drink came late, our main dish came after long time waiting. I imagine they were short staffed in the kitchen. Customers sitting next to us and across were also complaing. Well go back but never on the weekend.

Best gelato ever. Its soft and delicious. The place is nice, its downtown in Greenville, SC. I went one time, but when I will come back to Greenville, sure I will be eating a gelato.

Great food and AMAZING gelato!! This is a local family owned restaurant that has been totally remodeled! Their attention to detail is incredible! They make all of the food from scratch! The food was good but the menu is lacking. For it to be Italian its missing key Italian food. The Gelato is superb.

We sat at the bar on Sunday evening because they said all other tables were reserved. I didnt have a problem with that but when you place your order and literally have to wait 55 minutes to get pasta something is definitely wrong. People who came in and ordered after us were finishing up their meals and leaving as our food finally arrived. I know that either the bartender or the kitchen staff forgot to put our order in but when I confronted her about it instead of owning the mistake she tried to convince me that it took that long to make our dishes, spaghetti & meatballs and shrimp alfredo, come on guys really. I might even be willing to be a little less critical if we had ordered alcohol and were drinking multiple rounds, however, we ordered water and iced tea. If it truly took the kitchen that long to prepare meals then how in the world did the other patrons get their food and finish eating it before ours even arrived when they arrived at the restaurant after we did and placed their orders after ours? The food quality was fine and tasted good but its insulting to the customers intelligence not to apologize for your mistakes or least own them.

This Gelato(healthier than ice cream, slightly) is delicious!! The stuff is VERY helpful and flavors were terrific.

I go here often but today was just horrible. I waited forever for my check which is a real insult. Waiting to have someone take your money. No thank you...how was everything.. I had to hunt someone down. Then they just dropped the check on my table when I was already at the register. Awful. It will be a long time if ever that I go back.

The inside looks spectacularly nice, even though it only sits maybe 20 people. The outside is constantly getting trash blown into the tables and chairs and the wait staff just ignore it. Right below the outside seating is a disgusting puddle in the parking lot. No one cares about appearance but you wouldnt know that based on their overpriced menu and wine list.

Very small portions for what you pay. My chicken was about the size of my palm and the first dish had to go back. The chicken was rubbery and inedible. My wife finished hers before my second one came out so we ate separately. No bread provided with Chicken Parmigiana and we left feeling hungry. The flavor was not the greatest either (raised in NYC). Sorry, I try to support local businesses but I can pick a number of Italian places where you get much more food for less money. The waitress was pleasant but thats about all I can say that was good.

Visited a month ago. Gelato was a little bland and the scoops were smaller than expected. Teenagers working the counter werent really paying attention so service was mediocre.

Amazing food. Try the lasagna, its absolutely delicious. I got the Manhattan pizza, it was great. Dont leave without a scoop of Gelato! Service was great. We were seared swiftly, made aware of the soup of the day. The staff was friendly and kind.

The vibes are immaculate, the staff is so sweet and accommodating and the food is delicious. Gelato was a great dessert to cap things off and I couldnt have asked for anything more perfect for a cozy dinner location.

Randomly went here with my BFF while walking downtown Greenville, I got the smores gelato and my friend ate at the restaurant in the back. She said shed go back, she had the spaghetti and liked it. The gelato was good, too.

I dont mind paying $$ for a good meal but there was nothing special about their food AND the portions were kid-sized! I would have been happier with Olive Garden for what we got. The waitress must have been brand new because she couldnt tell us anything about the food. First Italian restaurant I have been to where bread was not served. Wont be going back.

I never write reviews, but I feel like I have to today. I have been wanting to try the food from this restaurant for the longest time, today I was like, I know is pricy but is almost Mother’s Day and I wanted to treat my mom and I for a good lunch today. I called the restaurant in Mauldin shortly after they opened up and ordered the Salmon and Scallops. A few minutes later the nice lady that works there called and told me they run out of Salmon. I was so confused because they just opened and it is the only fish in the menu how do you run out when you just opened for the day. I was given the suggestion to substitute for shrimp or scallops. I was driving and couldn’t look at the menu so I said shrimp. I got charged like I paid for a salmon when I got 5 shrimps and on top of that the risotto in both dishes were super salty so much that we couldn’t eat it. I give it a two start because the lady was nice, but I feel cheated, ripped off, sad, and disappointed.

The displays are gorgeous. The tastes are so-so.

I came out with some friends tonight we order our food and some wine the server was very nice and polite we waited some time for our salads and when they did come they server explained that she had forgotten to but our order in which at first would make most people mad but I was delighted that she had told us what actually had happened because most servers would have lied and coming from someone who worked in a restaurant for 3 years I understand how hard it is and I also greatly appreciate the honesty and the manger came over to check on us they did come and comp 1/2 of our meal and got us some gelato I believe the food was great but could have bigger portions but over all the dining experience was good which is why I am giving them a 5 star review

Gelato was a little on the expensive side but was very good. The serving size was great for the rich flavors we ordered.

I enjoy eating there, they have fernet which is my favorite drink. I find the staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable about everything they have to offer. I look forward to paying them another visit as soon as possible.

The only Gelato place worth visiting in Greenville. Try going on Friday or Saturday if you want the pistachio Gelato. Those are only made on these 2 days and they sell out quickly. Not too sweet and filled with real pichachios...best Gelato ever.

On Memorial Day weekend, I ate supper at Luna Rosa on Sunday night. I had the 4 layer lasagna and side salad. The lasagna was delivered to the table still sizzling from the oven. Delicious!!! To drink I had the “bae-cation”. The drink was like having Christmas in my mouth. For desert I had the chocolate velvet gelato. (Gelato is an ultra creamy /smooth ice cream). I ate the gelato as slow as I could to enjoy every bit of it.The following day (Memorial Day) I passed by and saw they were open for lunch. ( They are normally closed on Mondays). I ordered a meat lovers pizza. It is a thin crusted delight. 1 pizza is plenty for 2 people.At this writing, I’m waiting for the triple fudge brownie gelato for desert. I expect it will be incredible!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this family owned restaurant for lunch AND dinner.Rosa Luna is on Main Street, across from the Poinsett / Westin hotel in downtown Greenville SC

Horrible customer service, bad/stale food, and what they call Gelato is NOT Gelato. This business moved from a location with lower rent to a location with higher rent and now they are blaming the pandemic for their failure to pay their bills. And even worse, they are begging the community for money! The food and service is bad, period. The business is failing because of bad business decisions, low quality offerings and rude staff. Shame on the owners for asking the community/people who are themselves truly struggling during the pandemic, for money and a bail out. Shame on you. Karma will see that you close down. You cant do bad/dishonest things to people and get away with it forever.

Well I admit I have yet to try the food, but they have great gelato here. For some reason there is a lot of gelato in this city but why not get it where its homemade.

Garlic bread was to die for. I dont remember everything else that I got but the pizza wasnt that good. There were also pretty long wait times but thats pretty normal

But it is also really good.Just make a budget and make sure that you are always keeping your expenses lower than your income. Make a category for Meals and Entertainment and allocate funds to this each month. Now, imagine it is April. You have not made use of your Meals and Entertainment funds. Now, go to Luna Rosa and enjoy a gelato.———-Update: it has some stuff from Italy in it, so the price is fine.

Customer service was top notch! The owner and staff were beyond friendly and accommodating. The food is authentic as you can get, which is hard to find for an Italian from Jersey down here. Very high quality without being overpriced. 10/10 and cannot wait to go back! Too full? Only gelato in town and you can take to go. This is a MUST if visiting or just looking for a low key quality date night!

I recommend the Monte Cristo! Ive never had pepper jelly on a sandwich and it opened my eyes to a whole new world! Also fantastic gelato.

4/18/21 a beautiful day out with thousands of other Greenville people, decided to get Gelato,stayed in line for 20 min and right when our turn came, was asked to leave because had no masks, no masks available to provide either, never mind that 90% of the city is walking around without masks and every store and bar and restaurant we visited that day on Main street did not ask or wore a mask, and people sitting 4 feet away in Luna Rosa have no masks... lets just say, customer treatment leaves a lot of room for improvement...

Absolutely fantastic! We have always loved their gelato, but went here for dinner for the first time last week with family from out of town. Everyone at dinner has been to Italy at one time or another, so we have had authentic pasta...let me tell you, this stuff is the real deal. The service is exceptional and we cannot wait to go back again! Definitely more expensive than other similar establishments, but we loved how small the eating area is and really thought it was worth the price.

Went with friends be visiting from NY, one if whom is very Italian. He said it was some of the best pasta he had ever had. My Sherry Cream Ravioli was to die for and my husband loved his Chicken Marsala. The indoors is cozy and modern, the outdoors had a great view of the beautiful Main Street ambiance.

I’m months old on doing this review but this restaurant has always stuck with me because of how the chef treated me! It was my first time ever here,..I’m not a gelato fan so I asked if they had any other desserts. The chef personally walked out to offer me his homemade tiramisu and explained it in detail. I’ve tried this dessert all over the country and I’ve NEVER had one taste as good as this place! The service was so amazing and the fact that the chef went out of his way to make sure I was happy meant there world! I tell everyone about this place!

Overages. Service too fast as if they wanted you out of there.got antipasto after a few bites here comes the salad and after a few bites here comes the entree. Chicken Marsala was not Marsala. Both entrees one small chicken breast. With upgraded fresh pasta extra charge. Way overpriced. The antipasto and salad were fine. Would not go back nor recomend

I went there on a date the other day and it was absolutely lovely! Not only was the staff extremely helpful and friendly but the resturaunt itself had a charming atmosphere, the food was delicious and timely, and surprisingly affordable considering the location. I was all around pleased with the experience, esspecially our server i believe her name was Natalie, who went above and beyond with professionalism and service

Actually, it was VERY frustrating! We ordered a 2 scoop gelato ($5.50)and a 20oz coffee($2.85) We asked for a receipt. She advised us we dont get a receipt because we paid cash. We paid by credit card?? She proceeded to throw away 2 receipts? We were charged $9.20?? We believed she charged us an extra 50 cents for an additional empty cup. She had asked us if we wanted an empty cup, we had told her no! She then prceeded to give us a16oz coffee 3/4 full! We asked for a stirrer, she gave us a plastic stirrer that wouldnt even reach the bottom of the cup. We asked for regular sugar. She gave us Splenda! I asked her could she please just fill the cup up with some more coffee. All she did was fill it up with cream and kept apologizing. A manager finally came over and gave us another fresh coffee. Overall, the whole experience was a fiasco! This was our 1st time there. I will say, however, the gelato was delicious! I would recommend the gelato, just dont take any chances by ordering a coffee!!
