All the staff was super helpful and knowledgeable! Put new tires on that day and did maintenance work all done within 20 minutes. Everyone here is great 👍 wonderful experience highly recommend 😊

I have been dealing with Frank and the River Bicycle Staff for more than 6 years and purchased my Felt bike when the store was in Glenville. They provide excellent sales support and bike repairs. Definitely would recommend if you live within 30 minutes of this shop.

Great bike shop with a clean, new feel. The owner, Frank is incredibly nice, but on top of that incredibly knowledgeable. For the size of the store the fleet of bikes and equipment that they carry is impressive. Very clean and well organized. As a note, dont be discouraged about parking, there is parking along side the store and a small parking lot behind the store. Located in a great area to take bikes out for a few hundred meter spin.

River Bicycles is a true great “local bike shop.” Frank continues the Trickster’s friendly and fair business ethics and goes the extra mile to get you what you need to keep your bike rolling with as little down time as possible. Customer service is above and beyond. I had an issue with a bottom bracket while abroad and emailed Frank about a good replacement I could upgrade it with and Frank offered to send me one. Frank Is not only a top notch mechanic but has a talent for all the foodies too. You can get a new bike and some great recipes that will fuel you up to ride fast.

I’m writing a novel on our experience with John and the team at River bikes. I had a very disappointed little girl who had spent the morning driving from Norwalk to Greenwich searching for the pink bike she found online. When we pulled into (our last stop of the day) River bikes, it was sitting there like a beacon! She was so excited and couldn’t believe her bike was sitting right there waiting for her! John sized her and let her take it for a spin...it was perfect! Then the news came...”it’ll be a few days for us to get it ready for delivery....”. Without going into a long(er) story, these guys went out of their (extremely busy) way and made sure this bike was ready today! We picked out a basket, a bell and kaboom! We had the PERFECT bicycle💗. The professional, beyond-what-could-ever-be-expected service was 10 star! She hopped on to ride it to the car and out came a tech with hi tools and said,”I need to adjust the seat a bit”. Truly attentive and beyond the call of duty.John, we will be back to the only bike shop we will patronize! You guys are true gentlemen experts!

Frank is a great mechanic who charges fairly and always makes sure that the job is done right. He doesnt try to up sell customers but focuses on giving great value and service. Im an avid rider who has purchased bikes and a number of equipment upgrades from him and have never been disappointed. 12/12/20 Update- If I could give Frank more than 5 stars I would. I recently had my frame and fork refinished by the manufacturer. Frank handled the dismantling of my bike and shipping out to the manufacturer. While it was there he went over all components replaced and serviced everything and when the frame came pack, had it all put back together, thoroughly checked over and ready for me in 1-1/2 days! He is a perfectionist who makes sure everything is done perfectly.

I have been a steady customer at River Bicycle for over 20 years. Their sales staff has always been professional and knowledgeable. They have always been honest and only suggest things that have to be done if repairing a bike or give you options of things to purchase. I highly recommend them for all your biking needs.

I asked Frank to replace my chain because it was sticking due to what appeared to be a stuck link. After a few minutes Frank noticed the smallest of the 3 front rings had 2 bent teeth. A few taps with a hammer and a few seconds sanding a burr and the shifting was as smooth as new. The employees are always helpful and knowledgeable, the service is always great and the fair prices are second to none. I wont go anywhere else.Joe D

Excellent mechanics that know their bikes and how to make them work right. I had problems with getting a handle bar that I was comfortable with. Frank changed handlebars several times, without charge, until he and I were satisfied with the correct fit. He has done multiple ups on multiple bikes they always come out shifting superbly.

I have been to at least 4-5 other shops in the area and none come close to the service and expertise by Frank and his team.If you are after a custom bike build this is where you want to go. Frustrated after my experience with this business.Tl:dr; Rude and incorrect service, will not come back to this business. Make sure you ask what you’re paying for before you pay (lesson learned).I brought in my bike to replace the brake pads, derust the chain, and secure the grips. Expecting a call two weeks later, I called three weeks later inquiring about the bike to which the person at the end of the phone ranted for several minutes criticizing my claim (I said that I had brought in the bike “about a month ago”, when in fact I had brought in the bike 20 days ago, which is apparently only two weeks ago taking into account the weekend, yada yada). Granted, this was being done during COVID-19 and the beginning of summer so I figured they’d be under a bit of pressure.When the bike was ready to be picked up, I was not told what or how much I was paying for before my credit card was taken. Realizing this was something I should have inquired about (though also something I should have been told without my inquiry), I went up to the door where the person who had taken my card had entered. I knocked on the window as no one was nearby to take my request and was rudely told to wait, without asking what I was there for. I knocked again to clarify, only to be yelled at louder than before.My credit card and receipt were returned only for me to realize that they had replaced the grips for $20, which I had explicitly told them over the phone to not replace (not wanting to have to pay extra for the grips).Sure, the bike’s chain is clean as a whistle, the brake pads secure, and ditto to the grips, but never did I experience the same kind treatment that the other reviews rave about.

Bought my bike and keep coming back for all my cycling needs. I completely trust Frank with his advice.

Was going by the store and stopped in with a question. While I was there, they suggested a couple of things that could be done to tune up my bike. So, when I got a chance I dropped it off for a minimal tuneup. WOW. Feel as if I have a new bike. They even threw in new grip tape by using some new tape that someone had asked them to remove from a new bike - eco friendly and gorgeous! Love it.

My wife test rode and subsequently bought a Day 6 bike from Frank at River Bicycle. We live almost 2 hours away and Frank was very accommodating to our schedule. He even opened the shop on a day off (day before Thanksgiving) and spent a few hours with us test riding the bike and adjusting it for a perfect fit. My wife hadnt ridden a bike in quite a few years and Frank went the extra mile to make her feel comfortable. We highly recommend River Bicycle!

Im so happy to do business with this Bike shop. Ended up buying three bikes from them and I dont have a single complaint. They have always went above and beyond of what I expected. Once I came in for them to help with a refitting and I popped my tire while putting it in the car. They replaced the tube and did a quick fitting, I expected to pay for the tube and fitting. I wasnt charged for either of them.

Much better with the ownership change a few years ago. I avoided it after a bad experience 5 or so years ago with the previous owner who tried to sell my wife a bike that was too large for her probably because he had it in stock. We went to another shop and they fitted her for a smaller bike which fits correctly. They are much better now and very friendly with shorter repair times.

We have bought all the bikes for our family from Frank since the kids were little. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. They have since moved to a new location and although farther than Glenville, we will continue to be loyal customers.
