When I first moved into my home in 2011, I price shopped for heating oil for the first few deliveries. Advanced was almost always the cheapest, and I appreciate that the current per gallon price is posted upfront on the website. Yes during some snow storms and cold snaps it has taken longer to get delivery, but that is expected. I do not generally have trouble contacting them, but if I leave a message and do not hear back within a day I just call a second time. I have never needed a third try.
Love these guys, one of the better priced companies around the Groton area. They are professional and friendly, never had a bad experience with them.
Advanced Oil is a delight to work with. I call when I am around a quarter of a tank and I have never run out. The oil driver was very quiet and courteous. If not for the ticket I woke up to at my door, I wouldnt have known he was there! Much appreciated when Im sleeping in! The office staff are quick and professional. A phone call with a few jokes and im hanging up with a smile on my face knowing im taken care of. 10/10!

Lowest prices around. I always call when I have a little less than a half tank and they come out within a few days. Once our tank was overfilled and oil went everywhere, inside and out. They came out the next day and cleaned it up, no charge. Would get 5 stars if they had called me back about possibly replacing my furnace. I wont chase anyone to give them my money, so they lost out on that however they will continue to get my business since their oil prices are always excellent.

The reason why prior people left bad reviews is because of the cold snaps we had and they waited until the last minute to contact this company. Ive never had a problem when ordering oil. Granted when we had our cold snaps it did take them longer. Delivery drivers are amazing. Very friendly and kind. Be nice and give them a tip they work hard to make sure we are warm.

After buying a home with oil heat/hot water, came the task of buying oil regularly. The first few times I actually price searched, and since Advanced was always the cheapest, Ive stuck with them. That was 8 years ago.On 2 occasions I have been shorted by Advanced though - we generally get oil twice a year, so over the past 8 years weve had oil delivered maybe 15 times. 3 years ago Advanced showed up to a neighbors house, and if it werent for me noticing their truck and speaking with the driver, they wouldnt have delivered oil.Lastly, it appears they (Advanced) had some sort of issue in the winter 2017/18 timeframe, as I had delivery issues with them (quoted me a delivery date some 10 days out). I wound up using another company (Burn) which could deliver sooner, but required cash upfront. Advanced is nice in that they can bill to a credit card, and do not charge extra for that, in addition to almost always being the cheapest. They also offer a 5 cent discount for orders >200 gals (I believe).Im not going to judge a company by a couple bad interactions out of many, and Ive ordered oil twice since last winter, both times zero issues.
NO ONE ANSWERING THE PHONE! 3 days now,.. Im not in a rush,.. but it may be time to find another company. Are they still in business???They have been great. Now, I wonder if they are still around.
I dont understand why this company doesnt have a 5-star rating. they have the lowest prices in the area and have always delivered when I have needed my oil. The customer service both in the office and in the field are excellent.

Not once but twice has this company said they were going to deliver on a date then never show up. Then you call to find out why and they dont even have a clue that they put you on a list for oil.... This company sucks! Take your business elsewhere.
Ive been a customer for years but recently couldnt get a return call for over a week. Even tried emailing but to no avail. Completely unacceptable customer service. Went to Guys oil and was refilled the next day. Id rather pay more for reliable service. Theyve lost me forever.
Was told that I was to have oil delivered today. Sat home all day waiting. After several phone calls asking when they would be coming out and constant reassuring me Just give us a little longer.. Well they never showed up, never called me, nothing!! I wouldnt mind so much but Im out of oil and they knew that. Well apparently customer service and honesty isnt something valued at this company. I should have trusted my gut and went to Guys. Disgusting business practice, you should be ashamed of yourselves!
Zero stars...I placed an online order Tuesday January 2nd with confirmation. Ive called daily until Friday with no call back NO DELIVERY and now like many other customers, I am almost out of oil completely. Shame on the extremely poor customer service. I understand its busy, but there is NO communication. I did my part by calling at 1/4 tank... The website says nothing, no live person is picking up the phone and your only option is to make another order for oil. Very disappointed.
I have been getting oil through the Salem location for over 10 years, at the least 4-6 deliveries a year and they have always answered the phone, made deliveries within days and have the best price. I am very happy with the delivery service they provide.
I am a very unhappy customer of this company! 7 voicemails and emails and no response. ITs been very cold and many oil companies have struggled to keep up. But every time I called, I got a recording asking me to leave my details. Why ask customers to leave a voicemail to request oil, but then you dont call them back? What kind of customer service is that? Advanced Heating Oil needs to improve.
My husband and I ordered oil on Wednesday. We were told delivery for Saturday. We ran out of oil and they never showed up! It is now during a snow storm and we have no heat. I will NEVER order from here again. Worst service EVER!
I have never had anything but a great experience and the best price with Advanced HO, i have an office in Groton and a home in North Stonington, always told the delivery day, the price, and not once have they ever let me down.I think theyre great, courteous on the phone, return my messages ive left late at night by the next morning every time. Im suprised at many of these reviews. Im sticking with them!!

We have been dealing with Advanced Heating Oil in Salem?Waterford Ct for more than 2 years. We had no complaints. But this winter what a disaster. I called several days before I would run out. I called On Monday March 2 2015. I was told it would be delivered Wednesday the 4th. I said fine and got the price. Wednesday came and went. I called Thursday they said due to the storm I was going to get oil Friday. Friday came and I had to leave for the weekend and I told the agent that. He said how much oil did I have I said I was empty now because of the delay. He said well you are scheduled for Saturday. I said you told me Thursday I was scheculed for Friday. He aked is your driveway plowed and is there a path. I said yes to both. He said ok I will let the driver know. When I called back on Friday at 4:30 PM to ask about the delivery that day the recording said they were closed for the weekend. I wasted my whole day waiting for the delivery. I was supposed to be on the road early that morning for my trip out of town. Where is the accountablity? The agent being the same soft spoken male each time had told untrue deliveries and said he told the driver. What about the accountability of the driver??? You definitely have people that are ruining your business. Three weeks prior I got the same song and dance from the same agent. I was completely out of oil and I told him I was filling in deisel. He said keep doing that. I was able to contact ASI in Waterford and they delivered in two days. I called Advanced Heating Oil to cancel on the recording. No one by the way actually calls back as they say they are going to do. Thursday your oil truck comes down our drive way then suddenly backs out. Saturday he comes and says to my husband I am supposed to deliver oil here. My husband said no we did cancel.When I called ASI and told them why I was calling so short notice for oil the girl taking the order said. Oh we are getting calls from Advanced Heating Oil customers all having the same problem as you. They cant get a delivery on time. Call for yourself.I hope other people will be as brave as myself as I am going to contact several state agencies and the local offices as well.
Ordered oil and was stood up. My wifes life is worth more than .05 per gallon.
