I set up an appointment to test drive a used car at Pat Peck Honda in Gulfport, came in and had a great test drive. The salesperson was polite, informative and was never pushy for a sale. We discussed the sales price, and I went home with a quote. I then performed market research on both the vehicle and the Kelly Blue Book Price. I informed the salesperson I would contact him in the morning and confirmed that he would be there. I sent a text to the salesperson the very next morning where I made a counter offer to the advertised price. He conferred with his manager and in writing (via SMS message) agreed to my counter offer. We established a time where I would come in to complete the paperwork. Three hours after agreeing to a price I was informed by the salesperson the vehicle had been sold. I have no confirmation of the amount they sold the vehicle for; however one can only surmise that would not have taken less than my offer when the appointment was hours away. I will not be back to this dealer, I will not refer anyone to this dealer, and my last hope it that they contact the buyer of the 2017 VW Golf GTI S, and rework the deal they have made to at least the sales price of $16,750 which they agreed in writing.
