Bought a new printer and was helped by one of their always knowledgeable and friendly sales staff. Best Buy always has what I need.
They have the best variety and and least expensive prices of any electronics store around today. Its a little tricky to find customer service individuals who are knowledgeable about specific situations, but if youre persistent, you can find normally find someone who knows what theyre talking about.
Reese was great even though I didnt buy a TV yet, she gave me a lesson on tv features.
Very helpful with information about the nintendo switch. I forgot the name of the employee who help me and my 4 year old niece but he helped my niece understand how to work the controller and play along with the game. Thank you!
I had fumbled my uncles phone while trying to add an application & fix a password issue. In this fumble I some how got the phone to use his password as a security lock on the highest setting. I couldnt get into the phone, turn it off.. nothing.I chose to use Geek Squad. I heard alot of good things about them from others & they were recommended through Xfinity as well.Jared is who my uncle & I had the pleasure of talking to & telling him my dilemma. We only had a short wait. As we sat I was able to unlock the phone ( same password both of us had been using 🙄 ) but I couldnt figure out next steps. Jared was free & sat with us & got this all done correctly. Phew!This kid never charged my uncle & just shook our hands & said it was his pleasure. He was so great to talk to & even though I messed up, he didnt make me feel bad.No more fumbling of phones here Jared! Thanks again for your help & time!
Go to this place for electronics I cant get anywhere else as well as the great service and deals provided.The GoodStaff: Very knowledgeable on its products and when not take the time to learn along with you or ask another associate. Very laid back and relaxed interactions, also appreciate the honesty on its products.Deals: Some of the best in the business, coupled with the added benefit of price match and the Rewards membership ensure all available options are attempted before going to a similar product.Payment: From cash to card, as well as financing and leasing options; theres always something available when money is tight or if you wanna maximize your money with the Best Buy Card.The BadAside from the once in awhile annoying customers that unfortunately the staff and others have to deal with; expect upselling of a specific Membership, granted the staff have to offer it as is required by the business.Final NotesLeadership is doing phenomenal, same as the rest of the team.Chill with the Membership (You know which one) and continue to add more products that competitors wont typically carry. Relax the atmosphere too, the pressure your employees have to make a quota is very evident; it makes the interactions forced and awkward, to the point of buying stuff out of impulse and pity.Veterans should also get a discount of some sort, especially given that the Navy comes here for their spending when out of boot camp.

Cameron is my Geek Squad Hero. Patient, knowledgeable and very helpful. As we waited for the computer to update we talked about our summer plans. He was even helpful doing extra steps to make it easier for me to use Microsoft on my laptop. Im looking for a new laptop for personal use and he was great at reccomending and explaining features to shop for. I would visit Best Buy in Gurnee Geek Squad for assistance with my laptop again and would highly recommend their support.
I was a vendor here and after months of working alongside Best Buy staff and managers, they are one of the best retail employees I’ve experienced. Best Buy staff has procedures in place that ensure each and every customer is helped efficiently depending on the busyness. Each employee works one on one with a customer to provide assistance to guarantee satisfaction. They are experts in their departments and many speak Spanish. They are very helpful and welcoming to third party staff like myself. This store has one of the best customer service experience that I’ve seen

I wish more people would do the same instead of shopping on-line elsewhere after getting informed about the product they are shopping for.

Best Buy is a good place to shop for all things home electronics. They are one of the few places left where you can touch, see and sometimes demo the electronics youre about to purchase. The staff are generally knowledgeable and friendly. They sell discounted open box items. They have a reasonable return policy. It can sometimes feel a bit too sales oriented but thats what theyre there to do. Local computer stores have staff that are generally more knowledgeable and less sales driven but they dont have the breadth of items that a best buy has.
I can tell you out of all the Best Buy stores I have been at I think this one is the worst. Customer service is terrible. My printer went out. I told them which brands I do not like and did not want. They never even listen to what I said they took me right to the ones I didnt want. I again explained these were the ones I didnt like. They looked at me like I was confused. There is no customer service at this location. I will not go back into this store. Employees need to be trained better and they need to know there product better. They employees need to check their attitudes when working. Yes I will travel to killdeer or Wisconsin. I believe in Best Buy just not this store.
Just save your self time and drive to the apple store.I wanted to just buy a phone outright but you have to wait over an hour just to have a sales person help you.
Today was my first acquaintance with the Geek Squad due some “issues” I’d with a wireless mouse gotten here. The attention and professionalism I received was outstanding!!! I really do enjoy shopping at Best Buy. I always have a good experience. They have quality products and very knowledgeable staff. It makes it a more enjoyable experience. I really do appreciate their return policy. It allows me to have time to decide how I really feel about something and they keep working with me until I leave with something that I love. I buy all my major electronic purchases from Best Buy. Keep up the good work.
Everyone is very nice there;however be sure to check online pricing and availability. You might get better pricing online vs in-store. I went in to look at a laptop i had seen online and the associate was convinced they were out and tried to sell me a more expensive (of course) model. I ordered the laptop i initially wanted on-line From the Best Buy website right after leaving the store and it was delivered for free.

Worst experience ever. When the 2 guys came to my house to deliver my refrigerator they tried to turn off the water going into my refrigerator and couldn’t. They called me to tell me I needed a plumber before they could install it. When I got home I had no problems turning off the valve. The guy tried making a full turn to shut off the valve and because he was able to do that he thought I needed a plumber. Best Buy really needs to hire people who know what they’re doing! Now I can’t even get them to come back same day even though I called them 20 mins after they left. This company is the worse place for appliances and don’t care about customer service after they have your money. The rep George in the store was the only good experience. He was knowledgeable on the products. Just too bad he works for this shady company.

Big black guy who asserted that he is the MANAGER was very rude and standoffish for no reason and made me feel very uncomfortable. I would not be visiting this store anymore and dont recommend for anyone else to visit this store with his being there everyone else was nice.
BUYER BEWARE: Yesterday I went to Bust Buy to get ink cartridges for my printer. Without thinking I had picked up two different sizes without realizing it. My printer takes 910 for ink and was able to get the color ink. When it came to the black ink though I had accidently picked up the 910XL, I did not realize my error until I had gotten home and was putting my ink into my printer. My color ones fit but when it came time for the black one that was when I realized the mistake was made. When it came to the black cartridge all I did was open the box and that was it. I did not go any further in unwrapping the package. Today I went out to take it back to the store. I found that since the package was open unable to return that item for an exchange. The sales associate asked me what type of printer model I had and at that time I could not say. I was told that I could check with some models and that it would take that type of ink. In the end all I did was tell the associate that I cant use that ink and that there is no point in me keeping it. In the end all I got was nothing. No reimbursement and no exchange for a simple mistake. On top of that went back to the ink section in the store and found that they did not even have what I needed. I ended up going to Office Max and got my item. In the future will probably go to office max to pick up my ink since they had both of the items. Maybe this would not have caused the mistake that was made. I also wonder when it came to yesterday in the purchase why at that time the associate did not catch the different sizes that I had gotten. It is like checking shoes and making sure that you have two of the same size.
Came in with a problem with my daughters phone the guys were awsome and did a great job servicing our needs. Took care of everything. Even helped my wife with getting a new screen protector. 👍👍👍
Okay I’m glad I waited to write my review… 3 weeks ago was my first appointment that took almost 2 hours and was unable to solve my issue (Apple NOT Best Buy) so my appointment today I came in a little cranky and Sabrina in Geek Squad was seriously amazing. She is trying to repair my headphones a different way and just overall I feel like I will get a better answer. Depends on who you get I guess? Sabrina had me leaving with a smile. Also their customer service was excellent too, you could tell there were a ton of unhappy customers and the employees just kept grinding out appointments and keeping everyone happy. They were working their butts off and I’m so impressed! They even gave out cold water bottles! Very happy with this store right now.
Went on Sunday to buy a Mario kart steering wheel, saw a banjo plushie on the same shelf, brought both items to register and banjo isn’t available til June 29 come in today and street date pushed back… wasted time and just poor service
I really dont think theres anything wrong with this Best buy. The service is exactly what I would expect from any Best buy, and the same goes for the selection. We buy our appliances from here and theyre always great to work with.

Well, I’ve been going to this particular store for a long time, geek squad always helped me and always accepted my returns. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is because when I did the curbside pick up, they couldn’t find my car and assumed I picked it up without checking and marked it complete. Luckily we sorted it out, definitely not doing that again
I try to shop local whenever possible. I wanted to replace a flight simulator style joystick for my computer. No one in Best Buy knew what a joystick was. They all went right to their tablets. While wandering around myself I noticed there are easily 200 different headphone selections and they literally have one joystick (by thrustmaster, for ps4). They clearly only carry maximum markup items and every kid in there is just a walking tablet stand. I can order things myself and not have to explain words to anyone. Another childhood Mecca lost to corporate greed. I guess its Amazon for everything now.
Purchased the laptop. Didnt expected, but they were really helpful and nice. Didnt push us to buy or bother us. Asked once, let us looking around and come to us when we need to ask a questions. Happy with a price too. Made my daughter happy . Thanks

After waiting over a month for a very expensive computer Best Buy held onto my money without ever giving me any updates on the tracking and constantly reassuring me it was in transit. After 2 weeks of calling customer service begging them to help us with this they have repeatedly hung up on us. They promised our order would not be canceled and it was.

I bought an open box laptop geek squad certified excellent and drove from Wisconsin to get it. First it didn’t come with the original box or any Manuel’s. Luckily we looked before we left because it wasn’t missing half the power cord. Then looking, they didn’t clean the laptop at all, fingerprints and smudges all over. So I still decided to take it home only to turn it over and see a sticker showing it was the DISPLAY MODEL they sold me. I don’t know what scam they’re pulling there but I wouldn’t buy any of their open box items there. Returning immediately.

No phone service! I needed to know if they had the phone in stock I wanted to buy. My call was transferred to some general call center and just hung up after I waited for 20+ minutes! What a disrespectful way to treat the customers!

I returned a iPhone in February the phone was never activated it’s now April and I am still receiving bills from Verizon for a phone I don’t have and never activated. Best Buy apparently never entered the return now I’m caught in the middle because of their mistake and that’s me being kind.
The guy who helped me sold me the wrong attachment. They really need to train their employees on product.
I always have really good experiences here. they are always super helpful. specifically geek squad. they have sat down with me and helped me for as much time as we needed. they weren’t rushed and they paid attention to me & helped me. my problem was solved and the service was fast. really enjoy coming to best buy. the staff is always wandering around and asking if you need help. the store is super clean. staff are well educated & trained

Customer Service department spoke with Eve at the register. She saw that I was buying two apple charging cords and pointed out that the USB were different. I wanted the larger USB port to charge in the car or from my computer. She said people sometimes missed that and have to come back. I was thankful because her observation saved me the trip. Carlos was her supervisor at the desk. Very helpful. Good customer service.
Everything playing is very loud. Some employees offer assistance and are very nice, others are more condescending and make you feel stupid.
We where there for 10 min and no ones came up I had to hunt down an employee and it was 2 just standing around talking.
I dont really go into BeatBuy so much nowadays, but they had a deal on the HyperX keyboard that I really wanted so I bought online for store pick up. Store was clean and the service was quick and easy. Ill gladly revist. Thanks Best Buy!

Recently, I took my car here to get apple car play installed. Nick Fontana, did an amazing job to say the least. I was very hesitant at first to purchase the new radio system and software since the entire radio has to be taken apart and lots of rewiring has to be done. I didnt want to lose my backup camera with park assist and let Nick know that up front, but I knew that wasnt an easy task and was pretty sure I was going to lose it given the new system installation. From the time I arrived Nick was super friendly and thorough. The installation took about 5 hours and I was nervous to pick it up expecting there to be problems as there always is when taking my car in anywhere. However, when I picked it up the new radio system and software blew me away. Nick was even able to keep my old backup camera and software saving me $$$ and also one of my favorite features of my car! Every ounce of doubt I had in the car installation process was gone. I would have Nick do all my future services if possible. He is awesome!

Went looking for a decent laptop chromebook, all were way overpriced. Ended up buying one at Target. No associate approached us either to offer help.

Friendly employees helped me select a set of ear buds that are wireless. First time going completely wireless, but I was shown a good variety with different functions.During the virus they were very diligent about there rules and regulations set upon them by their company.
Management has to learn customer service. I was in the store working as a vendor. They were extremely rude from the moment I walked into the store until the time I left.Attitude defines altitude and if your attitude is down then your employees’ attitudes will be down.

I bought this LG gas range from Best Buy located in gurnee IL thinking I want something luxury in my house even though I had a nice kenmore range. So I month later we smell gas in the kitchen we called north shore gas leak hot line they shut down the stove for a rear part gas leak I called Best Buy they told me your out of exchange time according to their 2 weeks return policy only. So I called LG the technician was so helpful and was able to solve the rear leak put still found two more front leaks in the valves. I was so upset that I bought a brand new gas range for $1350 to add luxury to my house and all I get is more struggles. I went to Best Buy explained the situation and all the do just take my info and promise to call me by the end of the day, which they never do. I’m thinking that’s one way to get rid of a customer who need to solve a problem. I wish I could of wrote a positive review put I had to be honest

This store is just like every other big box store. They do have plenty of employees however from my experience they are poorly educated. I have also noticed they ask if you need help but keep walking and are gone before you respond. The customer service is just a check in the box.

The Best Buy in Gurnee is a completely different experience from the one in Vernon Hills. I was at both today. I very much appreciate the store setup so much more in Vernon Hills. The store itself is also kept up at a higher level. However... Gurnee may have higher traffic flow of customers. I had a somewhat difficult time finding help at Gurnee but that was due to workers for some reason doubling up on customers and not working solo. When I did finally find someone to help me with merchandise questions he was awesome. I just had to search for him!
Lot of times overpriced, but sometimes you can find gems, like a $60 860 evo 500GB ssd. If you need cables, stick to amazon, unless you need it asap, youll easily pay $25 on a cable you can get from Amazon for $8-10.
