The man who took our order was relatively polite. The sandwiches came out fast. I had ordered 3 drinks, it took 15min with no apology. The one man started them then just disappeared. Then the next lady came out a Lowell started them, made one walked away. Slowly made new mix, then made our drinks. No one ever apologized for the wait, no one asked why we were waiting. I understand that it was busy, I understand that things take a bit but the fact that there was no sorry, no sense of urgency. It was plan rude. I’m not from this area but when I come down here I do make a point to go to Einstein’s. I will not be returning.

Dont get out here as much as I should but whenever I do, have always had great customer service, awesome fresh bagel sandwiches and coffee.Venue is always kept super clean, extensive menu with reasonable prices and still continue to come back during these difficult times.Im fortunate to still be employed full time and am able to support my family as well as ailing businesses such as these guys.As long as EBB keeps serving up their famous bagels & coffee with great service, Ill continue to show my support.

Service was quick but maybe to quick since they made my order incorrectly. Wrong bagel! Kids running it and one on the phone. My first time there and probably last. Should of went to the noodles place.

Einstein Bagels used to be great! You always knew you were getting some good quality bagels when stopping in. Last time I stopped in here, all I left with was disappointment. The bagels were just meh. Nothing awful about them, but nothing calling me back in to Einstein any time soon.

Waited 30 mins for a pick up order and it was wrong. They didnt have what I ordered. They need more people. There are tons of customers standing around waiting. And they couldnt keep up with demand, bagels werent cooked and available.

Shorthanded and handling the pandemic well. Always a tasty breakfast, and one of the few places left in Illinois where you can get Caribou Coffee. Really like going here.

Good food but portions seem smaller.

I love my bagels and my experience here offered a great selection of savory bagels and great tasting cream cheeses on said bagels! Service was always with a smile and the staff were friendly. My only complaint come from one who uses the internet during most of my outings. With internet dropping occasionally, mixed in with internet speeds on average of 1 Mbps, I didnt find this place to be a conducive environment to do my online buisness. But that being said, this place of bagels had some amazing options to satisfy your bagel itch!

These guys don’t care about the people coming in anymore they only care about the online orders. Got stuck waiting in line for 30 min before they even asked anyone waiting in-line for help

Had a ham and swiss with egg sandwich on a pretzel bagel, was pretty good, just wished the bagel was toasted a bit more.

They didn’t toast my bagel and they ruined the frosting on my fiancé’s donut. Not the best experience.

4/23/20 - this review is directly related to their COVID-19 response and not to food in general.I was at their shop yesterday and was extremely alarmed to see one of the employees who was working to prep food with a face mask on but his nose was not covered. Not covering the nose defeats the point of a mask to stop the spread of disease. I called the store today to express my concern(go ahead and call me Karen, Im cool with that in these times) and they hung up on me after saying they arent required to wear masks until May 1st. So, anyone who is trusting food services to do everything possible to keep you safe shouldnt trust Einsteins right now.

I really enjoyed the nova lox on everything bagel! The lox is really good here. Always have quick and friendly service here. We will definitely be back.

One of the most friendly coffee shops for counter service in Lake County. Plus excellent bagels, baked goods and Caribou Coffee. A bright well-lit interior is good to work in. $tarbuck$ has a lot to live up to.

I live in the area and every time I come here I have high hopes... love their bagels and coffee but never ever are they organized...this place is just a zoo...no one has a specific job and they run around like chickens with their heads cut off...there are so many employees so I dont understand..always, and I mean always..they are out of something important like coffee or creamer or fresh juice or bagels even...never fails...need management badly and organization!!!

The place seemed to have no manager on duty. The cashier was not familiar with the menu at all when we asked questions. The staff was rude and had no customer service. It was our first visit and I dont know if we will be returning. The bagels were good and Caribou Coffee was a plus, but I dont think we will be back simply due to the poor experience.

Ian was helpful and engaging. Despite the woman shermaint working behind him being rude to him and us.He gave us a great option for breakfast and it was delicious. He also helped us find out some other info about some other bagels. Hes probably gotten one but he should definitely get another raise.

Awesome pumpkin walnut bagel! I wish it was available year round! Jennifer is an awesome employee, and works hard! The store is super clean, and the staff goes above and beyond. Im a huge bagel fan and this was my first time trying Einstein Bros. Bagels! I went to go order and 2 employees gave me extremely wonderful customer service! I ordered a everything bagel and was served to me extremely fresh and delicious. I couldnt resist by getting another everything bagel with 2 eggs. Amazing definitely coming to come here again!

Love Einsteins. Best bagels. Great coffee. But i have never met a more ruder person working. I wish I would have caught her name. I get its the holidays and you were kind of (4 people in front of me 1 perosn behind) busy, but she had the worst attitude. She cut me off when i was ordering to yell at me there was an extra charge (i know dear at least let me finish giving my order) and practically threw my bagel at me. It will be a longgg time before i come back to this one. Ill just stop at the Lincolnshire one theyre consistently nicer.

Excellent choices. Only suggestion, add an egg bagel and check your coffee equipment. Two times my coffee tasted burnt.

One of our familys favorite weekend breakfast spots. Something for everybody including small kids. From plain bagels to spicy jalapeño, breakfast sandwiches with eggs and bacon, fruit and great coffee!

Great bagels

I often visit this Einstein location when I visit family in this area. Never before have I seen such a contrast in service. Shermaint was incredibly rude to her co worker Ian. She interrupted him as he was answering our questions and demanded he fill a box of bagels before he spoke to us.Ian, however, handled this whole situation with poise and grace. He remained very professional and courteous. He took note that I hadnt been in an Einsteins in over a year and shared with me the many new items on the menu. Thanks to him, I tried something new and LOVED it!!! Ian is an asset to this company.

What a great place to have breakfast! Especially on national bagel day with a free bagel! The staff is always courteous and speedy and the farmhouse egg sandwich is awesome!

👍 IAN at the checkout really kept his cool with an extremely long line today. The customer ahead of me had a paper coupon, and the customer was a bit impatient, and he kept apologizing for the hold up. I had zero problem waiting while Ian was trying to process a coupon that wouldnt scan. I couldnt help but let the customers around me know I have no problem waiting, and that we should all be patient. The reason I felt the need to write a review is due to the fact that it is so refreshing to go somewhere that still gives good old fashion customer service. Too many people are impatient and in a rush, and have no idea how nor care how their rudeness is affecting the employees clearly working hard to help them. Keep up the good work Ian and staff at The Gurnee Einsteins Bagels.

We have come to this location several times, the bagels are fresh enough, but they sure don’t make the sandwiches like they show in the picture. Plus it’s been our experience that none of the tables get cleaned off but only the crumbs get dusted off. Several times they have to be told the creamer is empty and the coffees as well. The floors are dirty and they don’t move the tables out to clean the windows and the sills. Very disappointed in this location.

The best and only place in town to get a bagel!! I highly recommend a thin slice of tomato on your bagel and to try the farmhouse bagel!

What can I say its a bagel place they do have definitely very good bagels, coffee is just okay nothing special.

I ordered 3 sandwiches, Im 5 minutes from home, only to discover that they forgot the sauasage in all 3 sandwiches. I called them to let them know and instead of them apologizing and attempting to fix the issue, the cashier had me talk to the person that made the sandwiches. This person told me, we can do something for you next time. I had to drive back, no apology, and the manager wasnt attentive. No apology, no acknowledgement. I dont know if it was the cashier or the manager, but her name was Jennifer.

Went to Einsteins with my husband this morning. Ordered two Novalox on everything bagels. Neither of us got he everything bagel, we were given plain. My bagel wasnt event toasted. Why the 5 stars then? The customer service is why. Im normally one to complain to get it right, but the crew is so upbeat and friendly (to all ages including young children). Great customer service like this mornings team can overcome all complaints!
