TL;DR Rude manager who cant keep her word, understaffed, unqualified staff.I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment only to find the systems were down. This meant they couldnt take us in, we were calm because this isnt their fault. The Manager proceeded to treat us well, even offering to call us later that day once everything is back up and running. After maybe 6-7 hours of waiting, we decided to call the store to see if the systems were still down.We were met by a rude answer, who we found out was the manager, they said they had become too busy to follow through with calling us back. Furthermore, she offered us a discount for our troubles before we left, and now she had taken back the comment even saying she didnt say it at all.Through all this, I decided to rebook my appointment. I needed glasses. The appointment went well, the lady who assisted in the exam was nice! However she explained she wasnt really qualified to answer specific questions I had about my eyes. This was fine, I understood that a real doctor couldnt be there because of Covid and it was done remotely.After waiting a week, I was called and told my regular pair of glasses was ready. I went to pick them up, turns out it was the sunglasses instead. Fine, another mistake, but its small... Another week goes by and I have to return for my second pair of glasses.After arriving, the manager wasnt there. It was just one lady, the one who assisted in the exam. She proceeded to inspect me wearing my glasses, saying they were fine. When the nose pads obviously were crooked. Upon explaining that they were, she took them to the back to adjust. She handed them back to me, but nothing was really changed. She then said, I tightened the pads, its just the way the bridge of your nose is. Rude. Okay fine, I then showed her how the pad was literally sideways on my nose, and she stood by her statement. Though she did take them to the back again to try and fix it. We then heard her drop the glasses but she said it was the tool she used to try and bend the nose piece. When I was handed them again, there was no difference and she said theres nothing she can do cause she cant find the tool. WHAT? I thought you said you dropped the tool? We were then told to come back tomorrow when the manager was there so she could use the tool...I walked to my car, and adjusted them myself. With my hands. No tool needed. Overall bad experience, been coming here for years, myself and my family will never return here.
I had a pair of frames I brought in over a month ago to have them replace my lenses. I still have not received my glasses and when I keep calling I get no answer. I decided to drive to the store during store hours and the door was locked. There was a guy inside who came to unlock the door. I asked about my glasses and he couldnt give me much info because he said hes from another store and he was there to help out. Apparently the store shut down for a while. He looked in the system and it said my glasses were on hold for some unknown reason that he couldnt figure out. He said he would take note of it and have someone contact me to explain.....2 weeks later and I havent heard from anyone. I try calling several times again. No answer. Im really mad at this point as those were my favorite frames, they were expensive, and I already paid them a good amount of money to have them replace the lenses. Good thing I have another pair of glasses or Id be out here blind as a bat too.
I needed a new screw in my glasses and hours on the door say Saturday 9-5, nobody is there. I have a photo of the hours and no notice of changed covid hours

I recently purchased new prescription eyeglasses at For Eyes in Gurnee. I had a fabulous buying experience! First they helped me pick out some frames that I absolutely love. They have a great selection of frames. This was my first adventure into progressive lenses, and they were very patient with me. They answered all of my questions. I had to have my prescription changed once by my doctor, and they were very accommodating … no issue whatsoever. Everyone was super friendly. I got a great price even without insurance. I would highly recommend them!
One of the best eye appointments I have had in years. Dr. Judith Weinstein was not only very professional and knowledgeable but also friendly and easy to talk with. Her expertise at working with my nearsightedness and astigmatism led me to getting a better prescription that was actually lower than my old one. Her manner made it easy for me to relax and take my time answering questions. Nice to feel like a person instead of an assembly line number.The entire front staff was knowledgeable, professional, courteous and friendly. I had told them the insurance when I made my appointment and the staff had it all ready when I walked in. They knew exactly what my benefits were and worked with me as I looked at frames. They worked with me as I was looking at frames and I ended up with 2 pairs of glasses for basically the price my one old pair had cost.Even going back in to pick up my glasses, the staff was friendly and took the time to make sure I was comfortable with the fit and lenses. The follow up call to see how the glasses were working was a nice touch as well. Definitely made my whole experience a good one.
I came here with no insurance a month ago and everyone was so great explaining my different options. My first appointment, Grace and Karina were awesome at helping me try on a dozen glasses and were great critics! Ive only gotten compliments with the 2 pairs of glasses I bought with their help. My second visit was to just pick up my glasses and Patty, Xiomora, & Jackie were there to help me with any questions I had. When I came back to get my glasses tighten, I could tell I was missed by them ! Ha!This office has great customer service and genuinely care about helping people choose their eye wear.I definitely recommend Dr. Judith to anyone who has had bad experience with an eye doctor. She will sure change your mind! She was very detailed in my exam and even though I was so nervous, I felt comfortable right away with her.Its really hard to find an office with awesome employees and an outstanding provider!

I highly recommend Dr. Judith Weinstein, she is the best eye doctor in this area, 200% better than any other doctor I have ever seeing before.A few months ago I drove around with my 84 years old father looking for an eye doctor so he can get a new eye prescription and a new set of frames, and our first stop was For Eyes Optical in Gurnee. Dr. Judith Weinstein treated my dad with so much patience and kindness, that it got me thinking......Dont you want to be treated like that too?So, I told the doctor that in my 41 years of age had never owned a pair of glasses that I liked to were, mostly because I know that my eyes work in a weird way, and previous doctors were always super busy, and I always felt that they got all frustrated and got me the wrong prescription.So I asked her if she need it a carrier challenge, and she took me up on it, and got me an appointment as soon as she could. On the day of the appointment It took a few tries, and she had to see other patients in between, mostly because my eyes need it to relax. Wow! these are the best pairs of eye glasses I have ever owned, I have never seeing so clear in my life, I am so happy to have found Dr. Judith Weinstein. I will definitely will be coming back to her, and her team. I highly recommend them to my family, friends and to you.I forgot to mention, In the process of getting my dads eyes checked out, we found out that he has Glaucoma, making it very hard for him to see.Well, my dad is also very impressed on how much improvement he gain with his new set of glasses. This is why I am saying she is 200% better than any other doctor around here.
My husband and I went in looking for frames. There were 3 people working at the time and no other customers in the store. When he walked in he told one of the girls what he was looking for. She told him she would be with him in a minute. We looked at frames for 5-10 minutes while two of the employees loudly chatted with each other while looking at pictures. The other employee was talking on the phone. We left because we were annoyed with the unprofessional atmosphere. This incident took place Aug. 6th around 5:30pm.
