One of the oldest Sears stores. Really old fashion looking as you browse the three floors of the store. All the tools, garden stuff, electronics and appliances are in the basement. Clothes are on the first and second levels. Feels like kind of a small store but they have pretty much everything. Prices are good. Service is a bit erratic. They have a great key shop in a little stand alone building by the main entrance. Theres an automotive store/service across the parking lot..

The sale is good. The girl working in the pajama,underwear section was EXTREMELY rude but the guy that wrong me up was pleasant. I was able to get a really nice, soft, comfortable 2 piece lounge set for $4.00

I went to the store today and bought an air ratchet and when I got home the item wasn’t working, I went back to the store and explain to the supervisor what happened and he told me straight up that I took my chances with the item and that all sales are final and there’s nothing he could do. Again I try to explain that I was not trying to return the item that I went back because it was broken and thAt if I was just going to loose my money, he said there’s nothing he could do and was extremely rude and just like that. Please make sure if you buy any item from this store that the item is working before you come out of the store because you won’t get your money back or exchange even if the item doesn’t work.

Just giving a big heads up. The store is closing so everything is like 50% off. For example you can probably get a good short sleeve shirt for like 6 bucks. The only downside is since the store is closing the staff is limited so you will be at the registers for a little while but other than that, go in there and grab some bargains before the good stuff Runs out

Its sad that this location is closing down, Im not about to go to Newport unless I have to but I got a good deal on some additional tools and a shop vac. COVID19 didnt help. The store should be made a landmark, the design of the building alone is priceless

The store is closing for good, thats so sad. My parents always shopped at Sears, now its going to disappear. I feel like Im losing my connection to my personal history.......

You know everyone knocked Sears and now we dont have one in the neighborhood. Gonna miss them! And what about the people that lost their jobs?

Sad its closing and that hole area is pushing out stores and its own people who live there any inspiring mechanics should cheak out that car shop before its two late

It is sad to see such an institution such as Sears well over a 100 years of being a wonderful department store to the sad decline of the one flagship store in Hackensack. There phone system is terribly lacking you cant get through to the refrigerated department in a matter how many times ( 8) That I tried to get through to a live person to ask about product information. I ask for the manager and told him that the store is doing everything to discourage business and that sadly you can predict the eventual disappearance of this wonderful institution of a store!

Well its good and bad. Bad things about it is that no one buys from them anymore, store is empty, no customers, going out of business, makes me skeptical when buying anything. Good things, you get some old fashioned service, some brands you cannot find anywhere else in appliances and everything else, great clearance sale.

One of the few Sears still open for business and one of the oldest buildings in the area. You can find all your favorite Sears items still here and is very clean. Easy online in-store pickup with a kiosk to enter your information and the service techs who bring it out have great personalities.

I use to go to this Sears store with my father more than 50 years ago. Just recently went inside to check it out. And it hasnt changed at all! Still the same! Like time has frozen! Same look and smell that I remember! And same Key Store outside the front entrance! Wow! How is this Sears store still around when all the other stores in the area are all gone? The place was empty of customers. I guess its probably considered a historic landmark. Maybe Washington shopped there when marching through Hackensack to fight the British??

The Store Where was good but now is closing

Went in there years ago to buy something in the electronics department. Im not sure they even sell electronics anymore because I havent been back there since. I couldnt get help from anybody. The staff just claimed they were too busy to help me and they would be back later. The place was practically empty so I dont know what they were busy doing. After a half hour of being ignored by their rude staff I left and went to Best Buy. Its not a big surprise to me that this whole chain is going out of business.

I purchased a small purse online, and picked it up. They were nice. I also bought Christmas gifts there, a few days ago, and they were great prices. It was a long line, and a crowded store, so I hope they can stay open.

How can we forget one of the most interesting store in America. I still shop at Sears, and I still get great deals of just about anything I can use for my personal life and my professional life ....very very happy with just about anything I can say I need to used..... for my home for my shop, or friends. great staff very helpful always ready to help.

Ive been to Sears a few times and have gotten both sneakers boots and overall clothing and their product is way better than the prices they sell them for in other words products are inexpensive and of great quality

I had to return two things and experience could have been a lot better. I had to return the vacuum cleaner and there were no cars around to bring it really heavy item so that was pretty annoying. The other was a Lansing shirt that I had purchased in Jersey City but could not return to the Hackensack location because they dont have a Lands End shop. That was very frustrating. Also the counter help first was trying to tell me when I brought in the vacuum cleaner that I had to bring it downstairs

I have always found quality clothing at incredible prices at Sears. Im glad that is still the case and that this location is still open!I stopped in today and walked away with 2 pairs of well-made and stylish boots and a new wallet at under $75. I didnt have time to peruse the clothing section or I know I would have left the store with much more.I wish Sears well and hope they are able to improve their digital presence and stick around because I have never felt as pleased with my purchases or the standard of the craftsmanship that went in to them at places like Walmart.

Never hire them for home renovations!!! One year ago, I paid a fortune for cabinet installation. Yesterday the largest, heaviest cabinet filled with glassware came crashing down off the wall. You can imagine how that sounded at 5 in the morning. Thank God no one was in the kitchen when it happened. They used 3 skinny screws and 3 skinny NAILS to hang it!!!! I have been in touch with my lawyer regarding this. Sears said by Wednesday theyd be contacting me. CROOKS!!!!! NEVER hire them!!! Minus a million stars for the home renovations!!

Its a great place to get clothes

This is where I shop for Craftsman tools pretty exclusively. But that department seems to have diminished in size and variety of tools of late. I believe its a societal thing...people just dont use tools as much as they once did. The average guy or girl formerly made whatever they needed, today, they just go to Amazon.

Easy online purchase pickup department. Smooth transaction with the tech. Savvy way to locate my product. Quality and Reasonable pricing.

Sears has most of the same brands as other large retailers but the prices are better at Sears. The store is well stocked and maintained. And the employees are extremely helpful and friendly.

Sears has always been one of my favorite stores, but they are closing most of them. The Hackensack store is one of the last and Im hoping it stays around for a while. Where can one go to get good products at inexpensive prices? Its one of the last mid-level department stores left.

Went for pick up my online order. No one was helping, they dont care people waiting, after requesting, they tried bit mentioned they were not able find it. They are asking proof of delivery and who signed and received, etc

I love the Sears in Hackensack. There is something for everyone and prices are generally very good. There is clothing for men, women and children. There is baby/layette. There are sheets, towels, shoes, tools, appliances, electronics and more. Store is clean. Sales staff generally could be a little more knowledgeable in the tools, electronics and appliance departments, but once in awhile you get a star. Cant have everything. Overall its a great store with plenty of parking.

So happy theres still a Sears near me. They have great quality and inexpensive items.

Disappointed. They claim to have big and Tall but nothing bigger than 2X. Also it was very warm and stuffy in the store. I guess the air conditioner was broken or maybe they are cheap. 😡

It was wonderful my visit to Sears Hackensack for electric Dryer. It took only minutes finding models till checking out & schedule delivery.... Sales step was excellent in arranging all steps w/options and available discount etc.

I recently went on Black Friday and the experience was great! The staff were very friendly and helpful! Would recommend to consider on your next shopping trip!

I still believe that Sears is the quintessential American store. The Hackensack location is a local icon.Inside the store is a classic all purpose general store. Merchandise is good quality national brands and some private label.This store is vintage. Looks like it was redone last in the 70s. Staff keeps inventory neat and orderly.The company has gone into and out of bankruptcy protection several times. They are not built to compete with the likes of Amazon and Walmart. So it seems likely that the inevitable will happen sooner than later. But it will be a loss for retail when Sears is gone. Till then, you will find me shopping at the Hackensack Sears.

Who would have thought that a company the size of Sears would need to resort to putting fliers under your windshield wipers while you work? On a rainy day. Thats no way to endear yourselves to potential customers. Not cool Sears, not cool.

I like this store but it is hit or miss. Sometimes there are very long lines and you have to stand to wait. It is also not always easy to find somebody to help you. They have surprising selections and their sales are amazing! You can also order online and just go to merchandise pick-up. This store will actually deliver to your car if you dont want to go inside!

Sears is Awesome. I hope it stays in business!! I get all my automotive stuff there plus lawn equipment. All my tools, mover, all my DIY tools!

I ordered a snowblower on line and went to pick it up a week later, when arriving at the store in the pickup area it was an empty room with just a self serve kiosk so I signed in to pick up my snowblower all going great my name appeared on the big monitor above with a timer ticking after about 2 min someone marked it order complete and the clock stopped. I pushed open the door and a young man told me he’s working on it and it will be right out I figured great. After waiting about 10 minutes and questioning another worker (Yankerly) about why my order was marked complete she handed me a $5 dollar off coupon. Apparently they have a 5 minute or less or a $5 coupon. Ok now it’s almost 20min finally they said they found it. It comes out in an open box now I’m questioning if all the parts are in it and telling them I want a different one that is sealed they don’t have any others to give me. Then (Yankerly) looks at my email receipt and says she can offer me a 10% discount so I agreed to that. The assistant store manager Kevin helps me put it in my car I ask him when outside if I need to get a receipt or need to come back in to get the credit he says no that Yankerly will take care of everything and that I don’t have to do anything. Two weeks later and 3 voicemails to the store manager and 2 calls to customer service and still no 10%. Stay away from sears apparently they are on a downward spiral and feel this company might be on its way out and has nothing to do with amazon lol and just poor customer service. If I do not get a response I’m returning the snowblower before I use it so if it ever breaks I’m sure they will never answer my calls for help.

Sears is a pretty decent store. It said they close some of them down but thats our economy today. They have a wide variety of inventory pretty much from Soup To Nuts. I dont really care for their new policy they used to either give you store credit or an even exchange and they wont do that anymore and that kind of sad me because Sears was very well known for that they stood behind their products. I happened to get a blender / food processor that was a gift to me and the manager would not I repeat would not give me store credit or an even exchange she gave me nothing so I walked away extremely angry and my good friend had applied for a credit card and got accepted with $2,000 credit limit so we were going to go crazy shopping and after the manager wouldnt do anything about the blender / food processor we wind up working at the store so its Sears loss she said she wont shop there anymore

Shame on Sears. Their return policy is the worst. I bought some items for Christmas presents at the end of October . Decided not to give them and retun them and get something else. I went in today December 21 and was told I couldnt return or get store credit because return policy is 30 days. On receipt it says under Sears logo(hard to read)..Most items have a return policy of 30 days. I guess you have to guess if the item you buy is under this policy. Or do like I did, try to return. I spoke to a person named Barbara who said there was nothing she could do, not even give me store credit. I guess managers in sears aret lame ducks, they dont even have the ability to give store credit. Shame on sears I wont be shopping here anymore.

Horrible Horrible Horrible. Got an Alignment which they didnt make the correct adjustments in the rear and told me to come back and they will fix the issue. Made an appointment for 9am got there and they gave me an out the door time of 11am. 11am comes along and my cars still sitting outside. I asked them for an update and they gave me another time of 12:30 plus however long it would take to do the alignment. I dont know the point of having an appointment system if they dont honor it. At the end of the day I spent about 6/7 hours to get an alignment done correctly. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Ridiculous that 2 floors of clothing departments only have 1 cashier area with 3 or 4 cashiers. While cashiers downstairs DO NOTHING and the line upstairs is a block long. No wonder stores are closing all over!

Do not make exchanges without receipts even if it’s an even exchange. The place is terrible, old fashioned, empty, outdated and has rude customer service, especially the manager.

Came to the store at 830 am for tire rotation and wheel alignment that was under warranty and had to wait for over 3 hours. Only two mechanic on Duty . Store manager never came and apologize for the wait. Just kept walking around aimlessly . This store needs help.

None of the employees knew how to retrieve a shirt that hanging up high. That meant waiting for over fifteen minutes. At check out, i questioned the price of two vests i wanted to purchase. The manger would not listen to me at all. Nor did she go back and check the prices. I spent close to twent dollars more, because she wouldnt check the price. I am totally disatified and will not be coming back, nor will any of my friends or relatives.
