A very good sized vinyl selection. I always find some gems here. I just wish they had a bit larger jazz section though but I think that tends to fluctuate. They make it easy to listen to the vinyl before buying which is a very helpful touch. I wish their playback table/amp/phones were a bit higher fidelity though, but if it helps keep the prices down then I understand that.

First time visiting. Very nostalgic but also extremely dusty. Store is going out of business so I guess owner is not to concerned with the appearance at the moment. Scored some great stuff though.

Craig is extremely helpful and as friendly as always. Ive only been a handful of times over the past few years, but each time, i found something awesome. He was all out of beach boys LPs (I was hoping to find a copy of Smiley Smile and/or Smile) but he showed me the 45s he had and I picked up a few tracks Ive always wanted to hear ~uncompressed~ (Wind Chimes, Wild Honey, Sloop John B). Also got some Sun Ra and Rimsky-Korsakov on vinyl. One of those rare, and kinda magical places where people who dont know each other just end up hanging around and talking, exchanging music/life stories or like sharing recommendations for random life needs (a doctor they know, or local audio/video shop...a planting/gardening tip).Craig can also help with some audio services (transferring home recordings from cassette to CD for example).Really sad to hear RK will soon be no more (due to good ol gentrification and redevelopment of the area).Get there while you can. There are few places like it...and therell be 1 fewer soon.

Im so confused by the positive reviews.. man in the store had no mask on and didn’t even greet us so I don’t know if this is the owner everyone claims is friendly but he didn’t seem friendly to me. I didn’t feel the selection was anything special. Lots of nonsense. Definitely not worth it there are much better record stores.

Fun place to shop! Vinyl was well organized and there was so much to take in with retro artifacts in the store. Was mesmerized with all the autographed photos on the wall. It was nice talking to Craig about his shop and old Hackensack in general. You don’t run into many who have been inside the Fox and Oritani Theatre in Hackensack! Maybe we will run into JT formerly from Kool & the Gang at Record King on our next visit! Will love to pickup that ‘Cherish’ 12” single

Everyone was friendly and helpful. They had a large variety of albums and cds and hundreds of 45s. They even have tapes. It is worth checking out.

Whenever I am in Hackensack for a gig or at a doctors appointment, my father and I always stop at Record King. Although weve only been there a handful of times, we always walk out with a bunch of great vinyls at great prices. I have found some of my favorite albums at this store, and it gets really good inventory. The owner really cares about what vinyl are on his shelves and where they go after purchase (which says a lot if you are a vinyl enthusiast such as myself and my father). I highly recommend this place, Rock On Record King!!

Dreary selection of bargain basement LPs. Disappointing given all the positive reviews. Though if you’re a Dan Fogelberg enthusiast, RUN - dont walk - to this place.

Havent been here in quite a while, but they have a huge selection of 45s. This is their main focus. The place is well picked through, so you might not find the harder to find stuff. Not that many interesting LPs there at all.

I googled the store and I tried to go there but I didnt know that they close at 5PM on weekdays. Lack of information here is unprofessional. The fact that I had to add the hours myself is why I give 2 stars.
