I called the night before to inquire about renting an excavator and the guy I spoke to on the phone said all I needed was a driver license. Today, I went there to rent an excavator and the guy said you have to be 21 which I am. Then he proceeds to ask me questions like do you know how to operate one and tell me how to operate it. The only requirement was I needed to be 21. I wouldnt be renting one if i didnt know how to use it. Plus Im responsible for it I will sign whatever I need to sign if anything happens it will be on me. No matter what I said he wasnt going to give it to me. He was rude, ignorant and then told me I need to leave. Never have been treated like this before. Will never be going here again.
The lumber depth has the nices guy working there, hes short in stature but big on helping and personality.
Garden section is great, so is their grill selection and patio furniture. A bit difficult to find associates to help you but overall a great place to find what you need. Dont forget about that military discount 😉
I never have success with curbside pick up. I always have to go in. Im disabled so when Im depending on curbside pickup, its difficult. The good thing is that they did help me bring my purchases to the car.
Would be much better if they had staff to help locate items and answer questions.

Todays visit was quite good. Every associate we came into contact with was courteous, helpful & friendly. Offered sound suggestions.Front door women helped us with apppintment with fence people.Onto the bathroom, tile & flooring people & all were professional & assisted us well. The paint department associates were also knowledgeable & we were satisfied.A good visit. Will return.Hopefully, their outdoor fencing people will call us soon with a reasonable price & good looking backyard fence.

I was just at Newton home Depot and realized I needed a second screw for a project. I had all the information taken right off of the bag and yet the hackettstown store not only could not help me they didnt have a spot for that particular size. I thought all big box stores were set up the same way
My husband goes when he has to but I always wait in the car ever since I was treated so rudely by customer service when purchasing a large air conditioner and was asked by the salesman to run up front and ask customer service for a large flat cart. I was rudely told, if we have any theyre out in the parking lot, its not our job to go get them, its yours NEVER again.
This Home Depot is Relatively Small compared to other Home Depots that I have visited or Worked in. They have a Varied Selection of Products at this Location. The Self Checkout Terminals are Very Advanced compared to other Locations. Lowes doesnt even have Self Checkouts. The Lighting is More Warehouse like and their Labeling is OK, but the Formatting is not as Great. They dont have many Product Displays or Product Descriptive Signage. Staff has been Polite and Helpful but when I cant find Product due to Limited In Store Selection, I do find myself traveling a bit farther away to the Hackettstown, Lowes which tends to have Better Labeling, Signage, Lighting, and Product Selection. HOME DEPOT, still has a good Online Selection. They definitely have Lowes Beat on Tool Rental and Truck Rental, which isnt even an Option at Lowes. Ive worked for both Companies so I know a few things about both. I still shop at Both. As far as Home Depot, I do like Rigid Tools, Husky, and Baer Paint.

I live in Pennsylvania and recently visited the Home Depot in Hackettstown, NJ to buy my son a riding lawn mower, An elderly salesman was very accomodating telling us about the mower as well as working with the customer service desk to finalize the transaction and delivery. I regret not remembering his name however I Hope managment reads this and recognizes what a great human being this person is. He stayed by our side from start to finish and made us feel at home. What a great experience.

I ordered a few doors for a remodeling project at home, and they were not available at my local Home Depot in Succusanna, so I had to drive all the way to this location to pick them up. The store looks nice, clean and well organized. Unlike other stores Ive visited in Union county, all the employees I spoke to were eager to help with a smile on their faces. It must not be easy to wear a mask all day long during this pandemic, so more kudos to these guys and gals!

The information the associate suggested to me will help make my window coverings purchase a success next time.Ill be back.While there I found the perfect rug on the rug table, so it wasnt a totally wasted trip into hackettstown.Very happy with my purchase today and sales help. Same gentleman also helped me retrieve and load my carpet onto a trolley.
I had the worst online shopping & curbside pickup experience at this store. They brought me someone elses order to the curbside at first and I had to wait longer until they returned that and brought out the correct order. Upon inspection of the ordered lumber once I got home, it felt like they picked for me the most warped and splintered ones that they could find in the store, and an item was missing from my order. Add to that rude and unapologetic customer service reps that I met when I went back to the store to get my missing item (both the girls never said sorry and didnt care at all about the inconvenience and my wasted time coming back to the store). I have to admit though that the guys who loaded my order on my truck and the lady who answered my call (not from this store) were very nice and accommodating. Lesson learned: dont order lumber online.

All I wanted was some silver brackets to nail to the wall so I could hang my curtains. I asked 3 sales associates for help. The first one directed me to aisle 36 mind you wasnt helping anyone just standing in another aisle. He peeked his head out just enough to show me where aisle 36 was. I still didnt find what I was looking for. So I went up to the front again thinking maybe they dont sell them separately you have to buy the rod. I asked second associate she said I work for the solar company not home depot and directed me to a third associate ok I was fine with that. I explain again what I was looking for he wasnt busy he tells me go to aisle 36 whatever is there. Then he said go see Mike he at the back desk now for that department. Mind you Mike was not there the first time, second or third time. If someone would have came back there with me I could have showed them the rod I was talking about because it had the brackets I needed in the plastic with the rod. They could have said we dont sell the brackets with out you buying the rod. I wouldnt had to keep walking back and forth. Then to top it all off. Over the intercom they said ask one of our sales associates and they will help you thats not true. I found what I needed at Walmart. This the area Mike was supposed to be. All I wanted was some help.

Short some mounting material and drove 25 miles (rt) to Mansfield HD. After finding what I need went to pay. Only 2 check outs were open and all self checkouts were closed. The line stretched approximately 2/3 down the lumber section. Plenty of station were cashing out with a minimum of 2 employees each. This was not acceptible. Stopped by Lowes around the corner who had proper staffing.
Drywall sheets are 4 ft by 8 ft. This store does not sell 2x4x8 which is a standard framing size. They have 2x4 by 7 and 4 inches, or 2x4 by 8 and a half. So you either buy wood too short or by wood too big and have to cut it down. Its like some marketing or salesperson tried upselling wood but now they have an unusable measurement and no ones going to buy that.

Most of the employees there dont have there masks on correct! Some dont even bother to try and wear them under their chin!!! my husband is trying to fight lung cancer ! I will Not be going back to this Home depot!!!

Bought a Weber grill here and had it delivered. The gas line leaked and so I called and was told to come in and get a replacement part. Went in and was told to get the part of a grill in stock. I said well that requires tools. I got the wrenches from the tool section and began wrenching on an existing floor model with about 5 different representatives passing me. Finally I got fed up and asked for a manager and their tone was that I was doing something wrong. Assistant manager Joes tone was holier than thou and very much less than customer service oriented. I spent over 3k here in two weeks and while the location is slightly closer to my house I’ll be going to Lowe’s from now on.
Every time I walk near the store I always hear the manager or someone else screaming at some of the employees inside or outside. The carts are always everywhere making parking hard. Staff seem nice but I can tell theyre under a lot of stress. Selection is good but that seems beans to the tension in the air. Bathrooms where AWFUL.
I love this place because the employees usually are experienced in their field and someones always there when i need help.
Much better now since they have more help. People are happy to help.

I placed an order last week for 7 fence panels. Was given a delivery date of today 6/20. Checked order status online this morning and it said the order was on the truck and out for delivery. Went out to run errands, came back 2 hours later and checked the order status online again .and was very cheerfully informed that my order had been canceled successfully! Well..I didn’t cancel so who did? Turns out it was the Hackettstown store that canceled it because they have none of the fence panels in stock. Ok...I get shortage of materials due to COVID but how was i able to place the order and be told it was out for delivery in the first place? And where was the phone call or email advising me that the order was canceled and why? I got nothing..zip...zero I had to call customer service and sit on hold for 30 minutes to find out. Taking my business elsewhere in the future...not that they care.

I go here way too often as a new homeowner. The staff are always pleasant and their customer service is excellent as well.
The place is well stocked and has almost everything I need for my home and business. The people are very helpful and will go the extra mile to find me what I need. I love the self checkout counter. No lines, youre in and out.Lastly, returns are always easy. No questions asked. I learned they have a discount card I need to learn more about.

Had an employee insinuate today that my husband was high because he wasnt understanding what this employee was trying to say (the employee took two pinched fingers and brought them to his lips, then inhaled sharply). Employees should not behave in this way, despite any miscommunications. I was shocked to say the least.
This is my favorite Home Depot in the State of NJ! Ive been coming here for over 12 years now and know most if not all the employees by name: Jim, Vanessa, Jim, Joe, Sam etc etc. Vanessa has anyways been so nice with me. Kudos to Ed Flynn the store manager! Thank you!
Went to the cabinet section looking for Zbrackets to mount my cabinets, the store associate had the nerve to tell me to shop online that I would have better luck. Maybe I will just shop at Lowes from now on.
Well there is absolutely no staff around to help at all. You need to make sure you have all the proper materials and make sure its intact. Then you perform your own self checkout because they have 1 semi comatose individual on a register. Thanks for killing family own shops

Very pleasant Home Depot with helpful service and a decent selection. I prefer this over Lowes when you need something for construction. If Im looking for appliances or finishes then the nearby Lowes tends to be a better bet

It was a bad experience buying holiday decor as the store manager on 12/31/19 mentioned along with other employees that price can be adjusted in the store with receipt by January 6th 2020. Had the hand written date on receipt as well from the employee.But when I went in the store on January 4th,2020....they had sign for no re-ringing on holiday merchandise which was not there on 12/31/19.I had to deal with all the nuisance with home depot employees and finally had to return the item which they tookHave bot seen a store who would like to restock the item rather than sell it. What a bizarre experience.
Had some leftover unused plank flooring after installing it on my basement floor and had no problem returning them and having it credited back on the card I used for the original purchase. Didnt have my paper receipt either, so they looked up the special order and it was all good!! Really nice customer service woman at Hackettstown Home Depot returns desk too!!

This Home Depot, like most, can be a bit of a hit and miss proposition. Sometimes you can get very helpful salespeople. On other occasions you see those who walk quickly by you trying to avoid eye contact, hoping you wont ask them a question. Ive just gotten through waiting for 10 minutes to elevator music on the phone to check on an order and finally gave up. I may call again in a hour and get good service, or maybe more elevator music. Its a matter of luck!

Went there to pick up a shower door I ordered. They where supposed to call me when it came in I never got a call so I called them. They said it was in. I asked when I was there when the door came in. They told me 9 days ago and I was never notified. I have not been using the brand new shower they had installed because they neglected to tell me door was in. IM REALLY STARTING TO THINK I SHOULD GO TO LOWES!!!!!
