Today, July 21, 2021, I worked with Jonathan Betancur to purchase my 2021 Outback Premium, and he was such a joy to work with. I had a great experience leasing my new 2021 Crosstrek. In the past, I felt really uncomfortable at different dealerships when looking to buy a car, but this was the opposite. Lisa, Mike and Tim were all very helpful and I appreciated them working with me during the entire process. I would recommend Subaru of Hackettstown to anyone. And I would recommend the Crosstrek as well. I absolutely love the car and I’m so pleased I ended up choosing it in the end.
Always beware of dealerships. They are never on your side. Remember its a business first.The AC in my Crosstrek wasnt working so I brought it over to get it checked out. I tell them exactly what is wrong and say if this will fix the problem, then lets use the AC service coupon on your website.Its like the person helping me just disregarded what I said and went ahead and put me down for that $200 special They didnt run a diagnostic test, nor did they give me the paper that shows they over the car. (In hindsight, they did that on purpose)Im not a car guy, but Im smart enough to know they did something to subdue the problem and not tell me what was actually wrong so I could come back when the issues happens again.A few weeks later, the AC, is still blowing out hot air. I bring it back to Subaru 46 and complain that its still blowing hot air and what they did a few weeks ago didnt work. After inspecting the car, they tell me the compressor needs to be replaced, along with the condenser, which was leaking. I looked at the leak myself and this wasnt just a small overnight leak...the was a pretty significant leak. There is no way a trained professional tech at Subaru 46 could have not seen it.Although they will deny it, Im positive the techs at Subaru 46 saw this leak and didnt say anything. Im positive they knew what they knew what they were doing.I mean, come on... show some integrity Subaru 46. Ill be doing my part to make sure others say away. Remember, dealerships are business and profit oriented. They do not have your back, nor do they care.Attached is the coupon I used thinking it would fix my problem. What a joke.
Buying my first car here was great... until it wasnt. Subaru made a mistake during my buying process and sold me a different car on paper then the one I drove off the lot. No one notified me of this problem until I arrived to Subaru a week later. I was told I was coming in to sign some papers. If they would have just rectified the situation from the start I would have been fine but all I was met with was excuses from Micheal which I found to be very unprofessional. The situation has been fixed but my entire experience here has been ruined and I cant recommend them to anyone else after this.
I had an unfortunate circumstance of losing my 6 month old Subaru in the flood and was lucky enough to work with Joe Reynolds to help me get a new car. Joe is awesome and personable and made the experience much less stressful. Mike Antonelli helped finish up the deal with all the specifics of numbers and really worked with me. I worked with Tim Galdieri the next day for signing all the official paperwork and getting me out the door with no problems. Overall, I got to work with an awesome team and Im back into my Subaru. Sales manager was incredibly rude, arrogant, and pompous. Tips to actually sell a car: dont be rude, dont talk over peoples heads, dont use pressuring and fear tactics. Also dont take my keys so I cant just leave. I dont remember his name, but Richard would be a great fit.
Stopped for 2 reasons, the first the dealer we worked with was super great and helpful. Since I have a noise, like scrapping under my car asked if it could be checked cause I do not know if its serious and I was told the earliest appt is August 21st. SERIOUsly

Both Nick Norton, and Tim Galdieri, were awesome! Nick was informative (but not pushy), patient and very down to earth, . He answered all our questions, and in the rare moments he didnt know the answer to something, was humble enough to admit he didnt know, and go find out what the correct answer was (instead of trying to BS his way through it). Tim was also friendly, very down to earth, and obviously has a lot of experience in finance. He, too, patiently answered our myriad of questions, and as a result, we purchased a longer warranty for a bit more money. I would not hesitate to purchase a car from Nick again, and wish that all finance guys were more like Tim. A great experience over all!The only two, small, cons we had were: A. The first, new, 2021 Legacy Limited we were shown already had over 4800 miles on it, but was still being sold as new. We test drove it, but asked if we could see (and test drive) the other, new, 2021 Legacy Limited (identical in color to the first car) that they had on the lot. The second car only had 39 miles on it (we DID purchase this car). Imho a new car, that has 4800 miles on it should not be sold as new, and the mileage should be disclosed to any perspective buyers. B. The car we ended up purchasing (with the 39 original miles on it) had a scrape on the bottom of the front apron. The dealer said they had to take it to their body shop to get it fixed/repaired before we took possession of the car.. When we went to pick the car up, we noticed that there was now almost 100 miles more on the odometer than the day we left the dealership (139 miles). While the 100 miles extra was only 100 miles, we felt that the dealership might, in the future, disclose to any customers (whose cars need to be taken to the same body shop) that the shop is 50 miles away and there will be an added 100 miles on the odometer when they take possession of the car (or maybe find a closer body shop ... lol)Again, all in all a great experience! Don’t even bother going here!!!! The car I wanted was a used Impreza listed for $14995 on the website, and after all of the ridiculous fees they wanted to charge me, the price ended up being close to $22000. $1900 for a Predelivery Inspection on a used vehicle because they had to work on it? $1800 for Pre-Owned Certification? Let alone $300 to etch the vin number on the window which was done beforehand, and $599 for a doc fee (which was explained as a clerical fee since they also charge $130 for the registration). Absolute freaking nonsense, had to unfortunately walk away from what would’ve been my dream car. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!
Used cars were nice.Sales person was not dresses very well.Couldnt confirm anything without his boss.Be careful there were many hidden cost. Most of which I confronted and they removed them.All in all, they seem to be the same as the rest.

Had the pleasure of visiting the Route 46 Subaru dealership yesterday. We have been around the block looking for a new vehicle, and this dealership was by far the best dealership we had gone to. Although we weren’t able to purchase a car that day, sales consultant Joe Reynolds and pre-owned manager Paul Conway were EXTREMELY helpful. They were respectful, not pushy, and most of all, HONEST. Unlike most dealerships we had visited, Joe and Paul at Route 46 Subaru were friendly and looking to help you personally. They were very knowledgeable and offered you the best prices possible. I’m sure we can all appreciate a sales-person who is not only interested in making a sale, but also making a happy, satisfied customer- that was our wonderful (and rare) experience yesterday.

Awful customer service. Was told Id get a call back in 5-10 mins and didnt get one for 4 days. Wasnt willing to have any conversations about financing options over the phone just wanted me to come in. Once I told her I couldnt come in conversation was over. Its 2021 during a pandemic I have 4 kids definitely feel like they could have done a better job. Definitely was expecting a different experience after hearing my mom bought a car 100% over the phone and online.
I called ahead on Saturday to ask if someone would be available to help me out because I was interested in possibly leasing a car. They said yes but I didn’t make an apt. I showed up shortly after and the receptionist (who was very nice) said it would be about 5 minutes. No problem. 20 minutes goes by and she asks if anyone ever came over. No one did. So she goes to find someone and they say 5 minutes. After 10 minutes no one came. So after 30 minutes total of waiting we walked out. Not to mention I saw 3 gentlemen sitting on their cell phones without any customers in front of them. Definitely won’t be back to give this place business.

Went to turn in my vehicle as the lease was up today and the manager who was helping me through the process was incredibly helpful and saved me a lot of money from the lease turn in fees. Will be purchasing my next vehicle from them
They dont advertise the actual purchase price. Call a head and ask them about their fees first. Mine were $1800 for them having done work on the car, over $2000 for a certified pre-owned fee, and $599 dealer fee.

Things went well at first. We verbally agreed on a price for buyout of our lease which was previously purchase from the same location and to lease a new vehicle from them on a friday. The financial guy was on vacation so we agreed to sign final paperwork the upcoming Monday. I showed up at my scheduled time to sign the paperwork and the sales rep I dealt with that previous Friday comes to me as mentioned that there was a discrepancy on our original lease buyout and it would nearly double the cost from what we originally agreed upon. Let it be known as well as we were unsure of the end term of the lease as this was a spur of the moment decision and knowing going to the same dealership we dealt with a couple years back that they would be able to find our lease agreement and give us solid numbers. Apparently you can give a cost on a vehicle that you do not know the buyout cost. Thats when it all went down hill quick. They offered a good deal on a bottom line stock model but the whole reason we agreed to the deal is to keep monthly cost down as much as possible so there still was a discrepancy on the total monthly. We then opted to cancel the deal entirely. My wife drove out with our children to drop off the new lease and then proceeded to speak to the manager further about this situation to which he responds by saying to my wife that I told them there was a month left on the lease. Which, even if I did tell them that, how do you price a car on pretense that a customer told you there was only a month left and still not knowing the buyout value of the vehicle. Needless to say we will no longer be dealing at all with this dealership. Hope this information is helpful to whoever reads this and make sure you get pricing in writing before leaving as it was my mistake not to do so.

Then when I came in to pick up the car I worked with Chris who was so sweet and helpful as well. Smooth process and I was set to take my car home with all the prices that I was told on the phone. Finalizing the lease, I worked with Tim who was extremely intelligent and broke down complicated lease information/paperwork in such a digestible manner for me who knows nothing. There was no forced or over-persuasion in extra fees added to my total. I walked out paying the same numbers that I was told on the phone. We drove 25 minutes to this dealership after scheduling an appointment to see a particular vehicle. When we arrived, we found out the same day we scheduled the appointment the vehicle in question had been moved to another location. Barely apologetic, they offered that maybe they could have the car back to the Hackettstown location the next day. They didnt offer to show us any other vehicles or even ask about what we were looking for beyond that.And, honestly, I was going to let this all go as just some fluke mistake but to make matters worse, an hour and a half after our appointment, the gentleman that I scheduled the appointment with had the nerve to text me (which I do not believe I agreed to) asking if we were still planning on seeing the car today. This dealership obviously doesnt communicate within itself and they are a complete waste of time.
