Disclaimer: I love Amazon as much as the next person but, todays experience was a solid reminder to buy local!I stopped by Tangi Industrial to look at a new B&W trailer hitch and Mr. Frank went above and beyond. He said, Son, lets go outside and look at your truck so we make sure we get you the exact model you need. Honestly, I was caught off guard (because this type of service is so uncommon now).It was like talking to an old friend and he taught me a few things that I didnt know. I left with exactly what I needed. Truthfully, I wouldve easily paid $100 more just because of the level of service he exuded. Im very surprised at all the positive reviews. We send employees into this place frequently and the service is terrible. The counter service is awful and the employees act like you are bothering them when you come in. Very condescending attitudes. Unfortunately, not many options for industrial supplies in the Hammond area. I guess thats why they dont try very hard.

Wonderful service on both sides of Cypress Street. Knowledgeable and considerate owners and staff. They have all the hardware standards as well as unique parts for the odd job. They sell quality trailers that suit any need, and Kathy Kent is likely the most recognized and well-liked salesperson in the area. The truck accessory side provides extensive options for vehicle customization and stocks Fort Knox safes, even offering delivery services.

Horrible service! They close at 12 on Saturdays. I walked in at about 5 minutes until 12. I know that is a hassle but Im a customer and customers is what keeps local businesses OPEN. There was another customer in the store already and one of the men walked out and said, Hey guys, were about to close so if you have anything special, youre probably in the wrong place. What can I help you with? He walked over to the front door to lock it. So when I said I need a couple of bolts, he said, We can sell a couple bolts. What kind of bolt. I explained to him what I needed and even showed him one like it. Without really even listening to me, went on to look for a bolt to match. When I told him it had to be exactly like the one he was holding, he said Looks like a regular bolt to me. Then I explained to him it was self-tapping bolt. He said, That sounds like a special bolt (very sarcastically)...we probably dont have that. I realized that he wasnt wanting to help me at all. Apparently I was keeping him from something more important. I took my parts and got in my car. He was walking out (leaving apparently) and I asked him who owned Tangi Industrial. He replied in the most disrespectful and arrogant fashion, Well, I dont know buddy. This place is horrible and I hope that they go out of business!! I will just buy all my parts online from now on!! This is the problem with local business! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! 1 star because it will not allow 0 stars!

If I ever need anything, they have it, or they know exactly where I need to go to get it. Friendly small town people who are not in a rush to get through the day, but enjoy your company, and thats why I keep going back. If your looking for the know nothing happy go lucky employees of one of those box stores than go to Lowes or the depot. Want people who might give you a hard time out of good fun but know what theyre talking about, than tangi any day.

Yes, HORRIBLE SERVICE! The counter help is the worst Ive dealt with anywhere, EVER!Today was the last straw. I went in looking for a small set screw to repair a dead-bolt lock. I waited several minutes, while the clerk talked with the customer before me, the only other customer in the store. During this time, TWO other clerks walked by the sales counter, looked me in the eye, and just kept walking. No can I help you. No well be with you in a minute. Nothing! So, I asked the first clerk Is there anyone else working the counter? He shouted CANT YOU SEE IM TALKIN TO THIS MAN? I walked out.Todays nastiness is nothing new. It reminded me of my very first visit to Tangi Industrial, way back in 1991. I was sent there to buy a welders cap for a class I was taking at SLU. I stepped to the counter, and was met not with what can we do for you? but with derisive comments and stupid questions about my hair (quite long, at the time).CATHY--youve hired some rude counter clerks. Please look into this.

The folks at Tangi went way above and beyond the norm for us! Tire bonnet had broken on our tow dolly. We were traveling with no AC, were exhausted and overheated in 98 degree temps.They helped us replace straps, gave us cold wAter and ice packs as I went into heat stroke. They called around to find and reserve a nice local campsite for us as we were unable to travel any more without AC in our motorhome .They truly were angels for us in a time of Need!Thank you!! Almost any kind of hardware or tools can be bought here. You will normally have to wait for service because they HELP you. This is not a Lowes where you pick it up and take it to the register to pay. This is a place where each sales person waits on one person then checks them out before going to the next customer. Largely for commercial but also for ordinary people.

I spoke to Mrs Cathy about welding supplies. She is very informative and also very nice . She should be recognized by her company for her customer service.

This is in response to JOE BLOW, We all know that is not your real name. If you really wanted to change the situation you would have not done it this way, but be REAL & came to talk with KATHY personally, I think it is very disrespectful that you would blast Tangi online behind a computer screen instead of speaking face to face with the one who could change this problem. Now for everyone else. Tangi Industrial is a great place if you are looking for ANYTHING. We have just about EVERYTHING. Do we have a few people who have bad days. Well hell yeah we do, AS ANY BUSINESS DOES!! You tell me one place that you have ever walked in where it was GREAT EVERYTIME.. I try to treat everyone respectful everytime I go somewhere, but I dont always get it in return, Do I go blast them on Google reviews? NO! I simple think to myself maybe it was their bad day bc EVERYONE HAS THEM. I have seen Kathy & the staff here at Tangi put up with some of the nastiest people with a smile on their face, Go out of their way to treat them right & go the extra mile to see them walk out of here with what they were looking for, sometimes even leaving the store to go pick it up or pay for the frieght, just so the person was not out of pocket for something that wasnt Tangis fault. They are Well Respected people Don & Kathy both & I for one will not have their name disrespected without standing up for them. Please anyone who is reading this dont be fooled by these two nasty comments, Tangi is much more than them... Come see for yourself. If you do have a problem, PLEASE by all means speak with Kathy or Don about this problem, You cant fix something if you dont know its broke. Thank you & I hope you all have a great day!!
