One of my favorite shops for craft supplies. They also carry art supplies as well as items for knitting and crochet.

We had a glass break on our china cabinet so we went to Michaels and they fitted it perfectly for us with the measurements we gave them. As we waited we couldnt help but get a few nice center pieces for decorating our dining room. They were so kind and helpful!

Michaels definitely has everything you need for crafts. First time I went there though a young lady with an attitude was following me around asking me if she could help me. When I did need her help she seemed aggravated by my presence. I asked her for a can of spray paint which was locked in a cage she told me she would leave it at the register for me . I was so taken back by her attitude that by the time I made it to the register I forgot about it. The second time I went another woman was also not pleasant. I explained to her what happened and this time she handed me the paint to take to the register . They made me feel out of place and unwelcome. The cashiers were pleasant, knowledgeable, and efficient in their jobs.

As always the staff was very helpful. At the time of my visit I was preparing an Easter basket for the receptionist at a nursing home. With the help of one of the staff was able to make beautiful basket.

Its a regular michaels but here in Hampton its very bare. Lot of empty shelves and sad looking. Not sure if its pandemic related or what

The changes to Michaels over the years has not been for the better. There is a lot more pre-made decorative items than items for DIY. Plus they push Cricut instead of other machines like Silhouette or Brother.

They really dont seem to have much that I need but I like what they have so far.

They are on the way to become better. Just be patient.

Fun looking for Christmas decorations. Bought a tree in the Newport News store and found out that it was out of stock. They called the Hampton store they had only one, put a hold on it for us so we could pick it up today. Thanks for your help Newport News and Hampton stores.

Employees dont seem very friendly. Nobody smiles, even the manager seemed as though she didnt want to be there. She was helpful. But I felt like she really didnt want to help me. Just didnt feel welcomed.

I go to Michaels arts&crafts because its convenient,they have a scooter for handicap and I never have to ask but once when I cant find what I need.The staff are extremely nice and take the time to help.They dont act as though Im a bother but are kind. I never leave with an empty bag. Thanks staff?! customers are also willing to help.

Online prefer was smooth but when I went to go pick up my order it took them an hour to come outside to give it to me even after letting them know I was there . I had to call the store which got disconnected twice . Curbside should be a little better .

I have written one review prior to this review and it was for a similar experience of kindness and empathy. Today, I took my two year old daughter to get some supplies for projects while my wife had our three year old at gymnastics. As a relatively inexperienced solo venture father, I still get nervous that something will happen when I have one of the girls out on my own... and something happened today. My daughter, who was acting completely normal, suddenly began vomiting EVERYWHERE while sitting in the cart seat. I was panicked and scared for my daughter. Although three wonderful employees came to my aid, a manager named Ashley was amazing in her willingness to help in that moment. I was mortified by the mess we had created but she nonchalantly said, Its not a problem at all... I used to work at a daycare and it doesnt bother me as she held the trash bag for me to throw vomit paper towels into. She even went to grab a t-shirt that had been left over from a store painting event so I didnt have to take my daughter home in her soiled clothes. I know I said thank several times in my haste, but I wanted to say it again. Thank you for helping my daughter and a father who may have never taken his girls out again alone. I am truly grateful for your kindness. Its encouraging to know that there are still caring people that go above the expectations of their position to help others. I hope you win the lottery tomorrow because you certainly didnt today.

They only had one register open. The employee did ask for someone to come and help check customers out, but I still had to wait 10 minutes to pay for the 2 items I wanted to purchase. I almost walked out.

I usually love this place. Have a great selection, they tell me about the coupons I can use and more but today I was shopping and someone asked if I needed help around 6:24pm I said no thank you then I went to the bathroom. The store associate followed me in there and then quickly left the bathroom, then a few minutes later she comes back into the bathroom to ask if I need help with anything and says that the store closed at 6pm (it was 6:32) but she had not told me that when I saw her before in an isle and they didn’t have an announcement so I had no idea, I was here on Friday and they closed at 7pm. I put my stuff back and left. I felt very violated and just awkward knowing that someone followed me inside the restroom and was talking to me while I was in a stall. Weird.

Went in for some fake flowers for sn old wreath. Boy do they have a great selection. I had a hard time deciding on main colors. I could spend hours in here getting ideas for crafts and new picture frames.

During the Halloween season I will frequent Michaels, or Joannes fabric because I will make costumes for my kids. I have always been a big fan of Michaels for their variety and supplies which are usually in stock. They used to offer 40% off coupons which always helps cuz their prices are a little high. But not any more. I tried to get them to take a competitors coupon and rather than be kind about the new policy I got my head bit off by the cashier who was appalled that I would even consider the thought. I understand we are in a pandemic, and life kinda sucks for everyone, but lady you have a job which is more than most can say due to unemployment. And Im not trying to cause a problem, cuz I wanted to save a buck. To the Michaels cashier: Im sorry too many crazed crafters bit your head off about not being able to coupon match. I hope your life improves so you dont suck the joy out of everyone you meet. Its going to be ok. This pandemic will not be forever! Happy Halloween!

Had everything I needed for a holiday mask.

I wasnt very pleased to see a line halfway through the store waiting to checkout with only three cashiers at the checkout. BUT I became privy to an express checkout system they have where they scan all the items in your basket with the total being placed on a card they give you to hand to the cashier. This definitely helped customers like myself get in and out of the store much more quickly. Im grateful.

Incredible amount of craft supplies. Very fun store to browse. DONT go without coupons--the prices are designed for them to still make money after coupons. Online prices can be better with a percentage off you entire order, just order enough to not pay shipping.

I was looking for some items with which to repair some of the necklaces that I wear and I was able to find what I needed for that at Michaels. The staff was friendly, the store is really big and it seems like they have something for every kind of craft and hobby that you can name. I saw a lot of items that I liked and I will be more than likely returning there sometime soon.

The store is well laid out, and there are good sales. The are a lot of great kits for kids, labeled for age and time commitment.Overall, however, I remember being able to make things for less than I could buy them. This seems to no longer be the case, except for very high end items.

I purchased some frames from Michaels during the holiday season. I made the order online and did an in store pickup. This was very quick and easy. My order was ready in less than an hour and my trip inside a busy store just took a couple of minutes.I watched prices for a while before seeing a great price on the frames I wanted. Michaels has a lot of different types of sales so if you have some time its good to watch the items you want for a while to get the best deal. Im using the frames I purchased to display some movie posters.

Just about everything for crafts but the help is mostly clueless. The model paints have no organization & are out of most popular/basic colors. Cashiers are less than personable. Be prepared to be on your own.

Way too expensive. Went to pick up some drafting supplies. Saw some erasers in a particular brand and style. They were $8.00. Decided not to waste that money. Went to target and the exact erasers in the same packaging was $2.00, you do the math...

Found some good deals. Made craft time for four 9 year olds inexpensive but entertained. Will be going back for more inspirational things to do with them.

My experience at Michaels in Hampton (coliseum) was great. Lines were long but they opened another line to accommodate the customers in a timely manner. The cashier KIRK was extremely helpful. HE even helped me get a discount with my AARP CARD. HE WAS very patient and pleasant.
