Nearly an hour for food to come out. Fries were tasteless. Buns on my burger were cold. Iced tea is subpar. Linguine serving size was a bit small. Its a shame that the wait for food was 1 hour, because the burger was overall great (besides the buns) and the staff was super friendly. The ambiance is also really nice and relaxing. I may update the review of my future experiences at this place have better service times, among other things.
Extremely friendly and accommodating staff. Items range from bland to sublime. But the perfect seasoning level for the local palate. Baked goods really won it for me, it could be in a dump and those galletes would win them 5 stars.
The ambiance is especially attractive on a nice sunny day with its outside seating option. Counter service or takeout it is a very slow for a deli sandwich. However, it boasts a selection of freshly made sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups and pastries with a bistro feel to it. Its a bit pricey but if you are into that type of place, you wont complain. If you are looking for an upscalish cafe/bistro option and price is not an issue, this may be a great spot.
My rating is more of a 3.5. The entrees and appetizers were great, but drinks and decorum needed more attention. A basic garnish on beverages to make them aesthetically engaging. The furniture was sourced from different themes causing come amount of dissonance, and the bathrooms were very standard with stacks of paper towels and no dispenser. The food once again was very good and well presented, but quite pricy. 3.5 overall with an easy improvement to a 4 or even 4.5 with some consideration for cohesive presentation across all offerings and facilities.
A wonderfully warm, cozy, and elegant respite from the harsh outside world. Simple, delicious foods, skillfully and lovingly prepared, served by engaging staff, who are attentive without being intrusive. This is a fantastic place for a quiet first date or for having an intimate setting for a meal with someone you already love.
Friendly staff, fast service, and a great atmosphere!! Prices for cocktails were a little too high for my liking, but the food prices were fantastic. Average-sized portions, totally fair for their prices. I got the portobello mushroom wrap, and it was alright. I think someone got a little carried away with the balsamic vinegar because that was all I could taste. My boyfriend got the softshell crab sandwich and I thought that was much better! Very nice outdoor seating and a good choice if youre looking for healthy options
Dinner was a rip-off. Bad service (long waits, no indication of extra charges, etc.) - mostly because there was only one waitress covering the whole floor when we were there, even though there were (seemingly) other staff walking around. Table wasn’t cleared between main course and dessert. $43 for a cup (mug-size) of tomato soup and a plate of 1/2 grapefruit and micro-greens (seriously) and one drink. Never post reviews - this was just too blatant. Go to any other place in town instead.
The most amazing food in Hanover. The scallops were way better than you would think for a small town in Hanover. If your there for lunch I recommend the turkey sandwich. The staff are great and highly attractive too.
This is a great place for a nice dinner date. The food was fresh and well-considered, the staff was attentive, and the decor attractive. If youre looking for cheap, quick eats, youll be disappointed. But its the sort of place that feels classy without making you feel underdressed. Ill definitely be back.
Food was delicious, unfortunately service was super slow.I was visiting town an came by myself for a late brunch on a Sunday. Although half of the tables were free and there was no line, I still had to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated. Ordered a scrambled eggs and a sausage. The dish was medium/small size, very tasty, but it took 20 minutes to arrive. In fact, in terms of food quality, it was the best breakfast I had among all places in the area, but guys, you really got to do something about that slow service...
Amazing! Everyone is so nice and food was delicious!! Breakfast was amazing
Good breakfast with lots of local and house made options. No problem finding vegetarian dishes. Coffee was great and service was friendly. We found the atmosphere a little cold, but enjoyed our visit. We will be going back!
I like the food here, which is the ONLY reason this place is getting two stars. As someone who goes out for lunch a lot, I really want to like it. And Ive given it a lot of chances to make good. But the food is always overshadowed by the horrible service.Every time Ive come, Ive waited for someone to acknowledge us and seat us. Even when the dining room is empty, it takes a long time to be seated. And it seems to get slower and slower from there. Today we waited 70 minutes for our food. Larger parties who were seated after wed ordered had finished their meals before it came out. There were just two of us and we ordered sandwiches. And at the end of the meal, we were charged almost triple the amount we actually owed. Our waitress corrected it once we pointed it out to her, but we had to go into the restaurant to find her, as we couldnt flag her down from our table on the patio. She did apologize but made no attempt to compensate for what was an extremely frustrating experience.
Excellent lunch spot for people just driving through. We had pulled pork sandwiches and salads that were excellent. They also have pretty tasty baked goods.
Nice cafe with tasty creative sandwiches, baked goods, breakfast, brunch and more. Really good flavors, well executed. On the back of the building, downstairs, opening into a parking lot. Worth looking for.
This was a super lunch spot. Fresh local ingredients and nice outdoor seating. Its not exactly on the way, but if you pass by, make a stop!
Good vegetarian choice selection. Best not to go when too crowded as service can be slow - though certainly friendly. Pulled pork is too sweet. Nice location.
We came here for breakfast around 12. We were seated at a table with strangers and given warm water and two cups for three people. We waited 40+ minutes for our food, and then were told they didnt have what we ordered, so they brought out out food for two of us and the third person had to wait another 10+ minutes for food that they didnt order. Why they didnt tell us beforehand that they couldnt fulfill our order instead of waiting until they had made everything continues to confuse me. The waiter was nice, and didnt charge us for that persons food, but the bill was still $55 after tip and tax for a tiny portion of not that great food - literally a total of four eggs, a very small amount of hash, some toast, and some lettuce. It was also extremely loud and unpleasant to be in. Wont EVER be returning.
Always a great selection of well prepared food that makes it hard to pick just one dish. Also, the meringues are amazing.
Limited but curated menu. Slow roasted chicken was excellent. A date night ambience.
I traveled to Hanover for a concert I was performing in on tour. Having traveled from NYC by bus since 8:30 a.m., we were very hungry prior to the dress rehearsal which was to take place around 3 p.m. A few of us spotted Market Table, checked out the menu and were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich which was delicious.Later that evening before the concert, I returned to the restaurant for dinner. I had the sauteed spinach and the mushroom resoto. Again, I was not disappointed. Having only about 30 min to get a table, order and pay for my meal, I was patiently waited on and was out with plenty of time to spare before the concert. Thank you to the wonderful employees of the restaurant who made my first visit to the area such a pleasant experience.
Market Table is an outstanding restaurant. Food is always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend dining there.
WOW! The food was amazing! Great service and creative spirits! Thank you!
Realistically the best place in Hanover for high quality pastries and espresso. Also has an incredibly good breakfast burrito. I used to hate this place due to horrible staff but have to admit its about the best Hanover has to offer.
Love the food here. Really good brunch on weekends. Great baked goods
Great place to get quality food that is not ridiculous Hanover prices. The crab cakes are out of this world.
I liked the place. It has good variety of desserts. The food is decent. I tried the scallops and it was good. The outdoor seating is great for summer.
The service here was incredibly slow and the waiters were not attentive at all. They only had two chefs for the entire restaurant. The food was ok. However, what really irritated me was the mandatory 20% tips. I came here in a party of four so definitely not a big group. They explained it as the commencement weekend thing, but I seriously doubt it since I’ve been here many times during my four years here. Very bad experience.
Atmosphere:Well we visited on a Monday mid-afternoon so it was lovely and quiet, something we hoped would lead to speedy and attentive service (one can dream...), alas this wasnt the case. The only time we had attentive service was when the waitress provided our check halfway through the meal. Not sure what the rush was, perhaps a gaggle of ghosts had reserved our table.Food & Service:A definite positive was the amount of vegan options available. If you like paying 40% more for a grocery store/ Coop sandwich then this is your heaven. Plus, not being given any napkins meant we had the pleasurable experience of trying to carve ciabatta with cutlery - for those eager for a preview, it turns out its hard, and napkins would have been a better business investment. Or perhaps out server merely had a fear of the cotton napkins in a pile secluded from customer use. The sandwiches were good, the main disappoint was the side salad, which was as wilted as our experience, but the potent vinegar helped mask that, and also gave us an excuse for our tears. In Conclusion- Bring your own napkins & low expectations.
The perfect burger! Fabulous food and ambiance! Reserve early.
Good - enjoyed the entrees. Everything was great. The drinks were too although they were expensive. Nice atmosphere.
I love coming to Market Table for breakfast or lunch with friends. The food and drink selections are fantastically creative. The service is not always great but its worth putting up with for the food and atmosphere. In the summer time, the patio is one of the nicest spots in town!
Nice salmon, great ham and caramelized onion sandwich. A great treat! Wines are outstanding!
Service is an integral part of dining experience and the poor taste left by the service here cant make up for the decent food.Food is good here, but service is super slow, takes forever to be seated, takes a long time before one of the wait staff will acknowledge you (they will pass right by your table, seeing you are waiting, but will try to avoid engaging you), food takes an hour at the minimum (might already have been cooked but the wait staff would be too busy/distracted to bring it over). They need to hire a lot more people and I am sure they would have no trouble in this area but the owner is probably cheap or just a bad manager and clueless. Maybe they can try turning this into a take-out place? Its such a prime spot so it sucks that it is run so poorly
Great coffee and pastries, and pretty good and healthy-feeling lunch and dinner. The only caveat is the very loud space, and often slow service.
I love Market Table for brunch, lunch or dinner. Lovely, sophisticated, carefully cooked food. Best biscuits north of the Mason-Dixon Line. Dinner always classic but innovative: oxtail pasta sauce, pear salad with local blue cheese, osso buco. Perfect burger! Heavenly desserts -- homemade ice cream and baked Alaska.
Sitting on the patio was lovely BUT...the frittata of the day was spinach, feta cheese, and mushroom. We got a mushroom frittata with no explanation or apologies, even after I asked if there was a mistake. I paid $1.50 extra for carmelized onions, and got onions that were barely cooked. When you ask for more coffee they take away the coffee you have already paid for, and bring you another cup they charge you another $1.75.You know, if you are taking advantage of the rich clientele that frequent Hanover (which we were not) you should at least take pride in your product!
I would strongly recommend avoiding this place unless youre desperate. I cant vouch for the food because we left before eating. The service was atrocious, not just the person who took our order (it was her first night so I give her a pass), but the entire team. They were rude and inconsiderate. The space is cold and dark and uninviting. The patio was closed for no reason on a beautiful summer night. This was after we called for directions (because its in back of the building) and were treated rudely but tried it out anyway.
Best iced coffee Ive had in a while. Their simple syrup has a small hint of lavender or other floral flavor.
Great food and atmosphere, slowish but good service.
I keep wanting to like this place, but Im over it. The food is SO expensive and I have yet to find a good reason why. I recently got a BLT (pretty standard, hard to mess up) and the bun and bacon were so charred it tasted like I was just eating the grill itself. Ick! The service was fine, which was an improvement from the past at least. And once I ordered soup and they handed me a container that was about 1/4 full of soup (not enough for even a small serving) and it was like $8. The only reason this place is getting two stars is because their pastries are good. If youre going to charge an arm and a leg, make it worth it...
Service can be lacking, but the food is delicious and high quality. Small menu
Excellent food. Top quality, very fresh. Fast friendly service, and cool venue.
Great food, nice atmosphere, healthy, local food.
Empty restaurant at 1:55 pm. We were turned away. Waitress said they were full with reservations. Huh?We then made a reservation (15 minutes later).. the wait staff begrudgely sat us and literally threw our plates on the table. Food was so-so. Will never return.
Excellent place for Brunch! The Eggs Benedict is outstanding.
Great food, slow service. Go when you want to go slow and relax!
Very trendy atmosphere. Food was excellent.
Nice food slow service
Fantastic food. Exceptional service.
I love this place. Everything is delicious and fresh!
Great seasonal food, friendly service, and good drinks.
Good food but terrible management.
Excellent food and service!!
Easy going environment.
Can be loud, but foos is delicious, with many local offerings. Try the salad sampler or mushroom wrap!
I had an avocado wrap and it wasn’t tasty at all
Poor service every time, even for rich white guys, and bland food.
The floors are smelly and no me gusta
Great blueberry muffins
Great fresh food.
Best French toast!
Good food, but noisy slow service.
Highly recommend
The coffee has really gone downhill here.
Very small menu
Very poor and slow service.
Expected more. Service was poor. Maybe we came at the wrong time.
Delicious, fresh ingredients
Everything is as it should be.
