My in-laws would get this candy and when I had some my husband and I had to go get some for ourselves. They are one of the best candy’s that I ever ate. Great job keep up the great work.

There is no candy as good and nostalgic as Matangos if you grew up in Harrisburg. Easter isn’t Easter without a mold of a tall bunny or duck or any of the other multitude of selections. No matter what you are picking up it’s a must to grab a box of Venetian mints and what a great hostess gift too! We love Pete and will count on him for his candy for our children and grandchildren and all our family and friend’s treats when chocolate is in order. Most recent mail order comes in handy to send to siblings that long for a bite of memories.

Not enough stars! I have been going to Matangos since I was a little girl. It was the highlight of our Easter to get a chocolate bunny from them. The customer service is outstanding! I now live in NC and have ordered for a family member whos birthday is the 4th of July. They went above and beyond the make sure my gift arrived in great condition even in the heat. Everytime we are in town a visit to Matangos is a must. Will not disappoint.

Awesome! Ive been there twice in the last 2 weeks. Last week was Small Business day I went for support, today I took my sister. The owner is so, so nice. Go support the small business owners, its so worth it!!!!

Large selection of individual chocolates, molded forms, milk, dark, and white, gifts, etc. And its all delicious!

We were a party of 2 entering the store. Limited in amt of people allowed in with this pandemic. We wore our masks, but owner didnt. I recommend hand sanitizer at entrance... Didnt see any if there was. Knew of this candy only when store was located in the mall. That was mamy years ago and prices were cheaper then. You dont get a discount, but who much does anymore with small family businesses. Claims that the discount is by not raising prices for odd amt of yrs. Im not one to say. The gentleman was very cordial and gracious with his time and attitude. Of the variety of chocolates that were purchased, the only one that stood out and that would draw us back to the store, were the boxed sleeve Venetian Mints. Limited street parking at best.

This is the best chocolate store I have ever found! They follow grandpas recipes and only use quality ingredients. If you like chocolate and dont mind parallel parking this is worth a visit.

Awesome old-world handmade chocolates, Ive been going here for years and would recommend that anyone visiting Hbg. make a stop here! The family are warm and very friendly and I promise you wont be disappointed! Again for first timers I would recommend using GPS, its true that all the best places are located in those out of the way spots and this city treasure is no different!

I love coming here and stepping back in time to a homemade candy shop. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. My husband buys me a box of my absolute favorite dark chocolate truffles a few times a year and they are so delicious!! My little girl loves to go in and pick a variety of things to try . Give them a try, you’ll be glad you did!

Growing up my family lived across the street from Matangos for a couple of years. Coming home from school, the smell of chocolate enveloped the neighborhood. Every payday Dad would take a couple of us kids over when he bought candy. What a lucky girl was I! Mr. Matango would give us kids a chocolate lolly pop or a few pieces of candy. He put it in our own little white bag. I remember those visits to Matangos with great fondness. I think the site of your store should be declared a Historic Site in Harrisburg!
